[Q] Battery Life - Sprint HTC One (M9)

I looked and didn't see any battery related threads on the Sprint HTC One M9 forum, so please correct me if I am mistaken and should be posting elsewhere.
When the applications were timing out (an LTE issue that appears to have been resolved or being resolved by Sprint), I noticed my battery draining. I thought it was related to those applications, but I am noticing the following:
1) Excellent battery use when phone is on standby (screen not on)
2) Battery drains at about 1% every two minutes when browsing the web, which would give about 3.33 hours of usage. I'm trying to determine if that is normal for this phone, as with the same settings the M8 was much better. It does appear to be what is being measured: http://www.trustedreviews.com/htc-one-m9-review-battery-life-call-quality-and-verdict-page-6
I am curious what others are noticing with battery usage when the phone is on and being used, for example web browsing for about ten minutes (that would appear to drain the battery by 5%)?
This is with no power saving options enabled, but I am using auto screen dim.

Screen on time of 3 hours is pretty normal. That's about all I can add. Only phones like the note and the one max got more.

Is anyone else getting better than about 3.5 hours of actual screen on time (SOT)?

Mine seems pretty good. I do run greenify and my phone is connected to wifi a lot. I also keep my brightness down. I have no problem getting through the day with moderate use. LTE certainly drains more batter which when connected to wifi I sometimes will set my phone to CDMA only since LTE is a waste to only get texts over. Comparable to my m8, running bad Boyz.

I usually can go a whole day on one charge, this is from today and I watched 2 movies and ran slacker and YouTube quite a bit today. You can also see how often the signal crapped out.
Edit: I only use data on sprint network and don't use Wi-Fi

I have noticed a dive in battery life recently. I wonder if an update is to blame.
Usage stats shows peel remote using like 17% during screen off and I never use that app. No settings go to turn it off and can't uninstall.

I'm not at all impressed or even pleased with the battery life. From off charge and sitting in my car unused for 55 minutes + 1 text and 5 minutes of browsing I dropped 7%.
I am hoping that part of it is the phone's radio problems in B41 areas causing it to work harder thus burning battery. However, I shouldn't have to disable LTE. In the general M9 forums there's a thread where it seems like 6+ hours SOT should be the acheivable, in which case it's really a bummer. I also think there's still a leak somewhere in Lollipop. My M7 on BadBoys KK would run like a champ all day and then some (like getting home with 65% after being in a crap signal area but still on wifi), but when updated to Lollipop I noticed an immediate drop in battery life, similar to what I'm seeing now. I'm lucky to get home with 30% remaining.
@ccs86 Not sure why you can't uninstall peel - I just did.

Look again. You just uninstalled the updates.

I've yet to get more than 3.5 SOT hours, while the standby time is great.
I'd love to hear feedback of ideas from anyone on Sprint that has more than 3.5 SOT hours.

brightness on auto,3g/lte on for two hours and Wi-Fi on for rest of time. I only played fallout shelter for 10 minutes. Power saver on the whole time. Can anyone help me ?

That's about what I'm getting on mine... 3-3.5hrs SOT max. 60% battery remaining with 1:38 SOT looks good to me. I see people who have the M9 that are not on Sprint posting about 5+ hours SOT. I don't know if that means there is a Sprint-specific problem, or if they are just getting really lucky.

My biggest issue is from sporadic wake lock from AudioIn / Googlequicksearchbox
I am not using a Google widget. The voice detection doesn't work with screen off, so it obviously shouldn't wakelock the phone.

Very bad battery life, 25%/hour with no use! Please help!

New Photon and dies within 6 hours with no use. Sprint store installed Juice Defender and set on maximum battery savings and still loses almost 25% charge per hour!
This obviously is not the norm as if it were, this forum would be flooded with posts about it. Does anybody have any ideas as to what is going on here?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated it, thank you.

Sounds like you've got an app that is causing 100% wake time.
Go to "Settings", then to "Battery & data manager", then "Battery Usage". It will show you what is using most of your battery.
Importantly, though, click on the time at the top of the screen (which tells you how long you have been on battery / off battery). This will bring up a screen that will show you things like the level of phone signal you are getting, and most importantly for you when your phone is "awake". If you see a mostly blue (or in your case, possibly all blue) bar there, then you've got something that's causing you problems.
Spare parts may be able to help you figure out what it is.
Thx jw, appreciate the help. Nothing worked though, Sprint is replacing the phone.
Sounds like either u have a bad battery or rogue app running... I had the same problem, I did a factory reset, but skipped setting up and social networks....today I had a hour of usage, and through 9 hours, had 77% battery left....big difference

I'm not certain if this is Motoblur or it was just changed from the last time I used Android, but there appears to be an option to only sync social network information when on Wifi.

I didn't like motoblurs social networking....nothing like htc sense facebook syncing. Not sure if social networking has a memory leak or it was a fluke that since I hard reset and skipped the initial social networking setup, my battery life is great

I had my phone on the night stand unplugged and it went down 5%.
I can get about 5 hours of heavy use and I can recharge fully in an hour or so.
No battery complaints from me!

battery is amazing for me. downloaded battery circle from market that shows true percentage of battery and when u pull down notification bar it will show something like "Discharging from 95% since 8 hrs" then underneath that it will say "voltage 3.78v // capacity at 47% since 11:16pm" or something along those lines. so in 8 hrs of medium use on 3g only i dropped half. not bad at all.
think u had a bad battery. also i honestly dont think you need juice defender with this phone. i let things sync all day whether 3g or wifi and i make it a full day easy.

Home Screen, slide it to the left. On that screen, shut down 4G, GPS, and Bluetooth if not using it. Even playing with mine (and I play hard) I'm about 30% loss every 4 hours. Im good for a day?
Also, remember if you have Facebook, Twitter, Google+.........the radio (3G or 4G) is constantly reaching out to them for updates!
I went this whole weekend from 8am to 11pm without charging, I played words with friends checked fb, texted and made calls and never needed my charger. I came from the evo and i would of had a dead phone at 4pm doing the same amount so i am impressed all the way
Got mine on Friday. Looking forward to the workday to test the battery during a normal routine. But yesterday, I gamed & messed with the phone for over 2 hours (out of 4 hours off uptime) & only dropped by 50%. I am happy with that.

Bad Battery Drain, HELP!

I've had the HTC One X+ for a week now and it's a really good phone, however, the battery really lets it down. The battery drain is terrible on my phone. The phone is really good in sleep mode, only losing about 2% in 1 hour, but as soon as it's not in sleep mode, as soon as you start to use the phone, the battery drains like hell. For example, when I'm web surfing or using applications, it loses 1% like every 2 minutes and that's crazy!
I don't know why, power saver is on, switched to 2G instead of 3G, disabled Google Now, auto-sync, basically everything I think would drain the battery. Brightness is on it's minimum. I feel so restricted when using my phone! But I've read other people having really good battery life even with moderate use, so am I doing something wrong? Should I factory reset my phone? Is there something wrong with my phone? Can someone help me?
Thanks!!
Have you disabled all AT&T apps? They drain battery as hell especially ATT locker.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
Under Settings/Sounds/Ring Tone untick the three options as they just have the sensors constantly checking, then under Settings/Power untick Fastboot.
Then get a battery monitor app like GSam Battery Monitor which pinpoints the power drainer. How many apps do you have installed? Dump the ones you hardly ever use.
Also, several charge/discharge cycles are necessary before battery reaches best performance.

I think losing 2% of battery every hour of standby is pretty bad. How many hours of screen time on do you get from a full charge to around 10%?

2% isn't bad. You crazy.
My phone's battery life is really good and keeps improving with more usage. I do not however, expect more than a few hours of gaming.

Won't lie i got the same problem you are facing right now. The battery life is horrible, in fact it only lasts about 3-4 hours gaming if i am lucky. Before 5 minutes i opened a game called "dead trigger" my battery was 94% after 5 minutes of playing guess what? BOOM 89% straight which is extremely bad from my point of view.
You know, you do have screen with a high resolution, and you're using the max of the graphic and other chips while gaming...and that costs power...most likely NFC is active, as is BT, 4G, brightness on 200%, the loudspeaker blearing some music out of the cloud, GPS on, and 15 apps not closed properly, weather syncing every 5 secs, and 700 apps installed from Happy Santa to FakeYourPhone!
I really can't get it that you complain about it. It is a mobile smartphone that can be used to play games. If your priority lies with the latter, have a charger handy with you! Play, enjoy, and stop moaning...Period!

Bad Battery Drain as well
I'm going to tack onto this thread. I got the HTC One X+ about a week 1/2 ago. The phone is amazing. It has everything I want, but I cannot make it through the day once without always consciously thinking about battery drain and how quickly the phone just sucks down the power. The following Battery Monitor graph is when I have JuiceDefender installed so it turns off the data radio whenever the screen is off or I'm connected to WiFi. I was on WiFi from 7:45 this morning all the way to 5:00pm. The drain on this thing is so fast. I didn't watch a single video today nor any games. This is all facebook data, internet data, and just some general playing on the phone. I also turn on the power save feature for Jelly bean so I turned off vibration feedback, brightness is turned down, and CPU saving is turned on.
Do I have a dud phone or is the One X+ really that awful on the battery? I'm strongly considering taking it back but every single other thing about the phone is great but if the battery on every One X+ is that bad I don't know if it's worth it. Please help assuage my fears or give me some advice on what I can do better.

I do. I kind of thought it was one of the neater parts of Jelly Bean. Is it a complete battery hog? This is my 1st android phone but I'm a long time Smartphone owner. I'm guessing by your question I should disable it and see how the battery performs.
It is an LTE phone though i'm on wifi 90% of my day. Background apps that run are usually Whatsapp, Facebook, and Linkedin. Right now I'm losing about 2% charge every 10 minutes if I'm using it. I gotta plug the thing in as much as I can just so I can use it. I'm perfectly fine with tweaking the thing, just not sure how much 'tweaking' is needed to get some better performance out of the things.
I'm wondering if Facebook is the problem... Just a thought...
The One X+ isnt that bad in terms of battery life in my experience, I've done 15.5 hours with 2.5 hours screen on time, Not sure what folks are expecting, Thats pretty average for a smartphone... That is with Wi-Fi on, LTE on, Google Now on, Autosync on, the little weather widgety clock thing on.. and pretty much me not doing anything besides closing apps when im done with it, I have Kik messanger and TextPlus on in the background but they arent doing much to my battery life... I dont use the power saver until it toggles at 15% battery life, I have vibration on, and my brightness is fixed at like 33% constantly... I have every ATT app disabled in the app thing.. I also have the "best Wi-Fi performance" thing ticked which says it might use more battery...
Yes, Gaming and watching videos on the thing is going to drain the battery out fast, Just like every smartphone I've ever owned... Its better than my GSM Nexus with the stock battery (Its roughly halfway between the stock battery and the extended one) and better than the S3 I had very briefly (However I will note the S3 couldnt keep a signal at all whereas my One X+ can...) The conversion seems to be that you trade about 2 hours standby time for 30 minutes of screen-on usage in my case
Picture 1 is me using my phone normally in a day.. 15.5 hours is more than enough (I'd say i get closer to 13 or 14 average) with 2.5 hours of screen on time
Picture 2 was me basically doing nothing but watching Youtube and playing games this morning... its really not all that bad, the biggest consumer/ battery hog for me is Mediaserver for some reason, I'm not actually 100% sure why (I know what it is...) or if i could pull even better battery life if there is something actually wrong with it and its draining my battery excessively... But I'm not complaining about it because well.. this was me abusing my phone pretty much
Not arguing that some folks are getting rubbish battery life, Because they are, I'm actually more curious as to whats causing it, There has to be something here and some way to fix it
Follow up to yesterday's battery
Ok in the attachment is my usage today. As you can see it is totally what I would expect from the phone. I got it to that point by disabling Google Now. That kind of stinks however, I can actually use my phone without being nearby an electrical outlet all the time. The other thing that works well is how much cooler it is to the touch under normal use. Normally it was quite hot. I work in a basement(3 bars with LTE) so my guess is Google Now was always trying to utilize location (even if it wasn't immediately obvious) on the screen via the indicator and thus would just kill my battery especially when I would pick it up to use it with the screen. I wish I could use Google Now but perhaps I can slowly bring back some of it's abilities and find a happy medium.
I'd also like to make note that I am still utilizing the power saving features for Jelly Bean along with JuiceDefender.
No offense but I cant read that battery thing you got. I cant see how long you used it or anything, all i can tell is your battery is at 70%...

Yeah my apologies, the timeline is on the X axis at the bottom. Unplugged at 7am, and at 2:32pm it was above 70%. Pretty drastic difference since normally the last week or so I've been hitting 70% at about 9am.

Sounds more in line with what im getting... Though i have Google Now on... Weird.. Very weird
GSam is a bit nicer and free FYI so you might wanna give it a look
how much playback time should I be getting for 720p mp4 files? My phone drains about 10% every 20 minutes with power save on, auto sync and all wireless radios off and minimum brightness, I am quite disappointed, is this normal drain?
I had to open my big mouth, Now my One X+ has developed a little problem It wont enter Deep Sleep so yeah... now the battery life isnt terribly great
You guys might wanna check that your phone is entering deep sleep and not getting held awake by something, because now im seeing similar drain to you guys...
Very new issue though, Weird... I uninstalled an app I felt might have caused it and ill see if that fixes it, Currently recharging my One X+ to reset the counters and everything...
According to BBM, It appears to be my Wi-Fi keeping the phone awake for some reason... Next step if the uninstallation doesnt fix things will be to disable Wi-Fi and see if that changes anything

Battery life is good enough

Since people only post on negative battery experience while the happy ones are silent, I will break the silence.
I have and use the One X+ (international non-LTE, in central Europe) for one week. Today, I just used it to browse web for several hours (browser was consuming 55% at time of screenshot) and read some pdf (pdf viewer was consuming 17%; I flipped about 200 pages in fast way as it was mildly boring ebook with big fonts so no zooming). There were about 10 minutes of web or youtube video too.
The screenshot shows battery graph at 38% of battery left, after 8 hours since plugged.
I guess (based on the screenshot bars and based on the actual usage) the screen-on time was about 60% (so between 4.5 and 5 hours).
Boo at HTC for removing screen-on time counter.
Google now is off.
Mobile data is off.
WiFi is on.
Power saver mode is off.
Brightness was automatic, usually around 30%.
No extra battery monitor was running (they may affect battery while measuring too).
Stock rom, one OTA update was performed.
Android version 4.1.1
Build 1.17.401.1
I have never managed to fully discharge the battery so its measurements may not be fully calibrated.
no problems here
This phone has great life for me. The only times I've had a problem getting a full day was when I first got it and basically didn't put it down. Since then I usually have 30-50% left at the end of the day. I wonder what some people do to drain the battery so much...

I disagree.
I don't game at all. I get about 10-14hrs of battery life with 1-2hrs of screen time with most of that running on LTE and with Power Saver ON. That is OK, but not great at all. I would like to get that type of battery life with 3-4 hours screen time and using Navigation. I think for people that use their phone for work and travel for work, you ideally need 16hrs battery life with 3-4 hours screen time with some GPS/Navigation. Don't think this phone will every get there.
I've finally got my IT to give me WIFI access at work to avoid 3G/LTE and today I'm testing if Juice Defender is better than Power Saver mode, but based on my current drain, I don't sure i'll make it to 16hrs.
In either case, I found the drain while running Navigation to be HUGE (40%+/h) and if Power Saving mode is OFF the phone will overheat as well (55C/130F).
Still I love this phone, but hope I can find a way to squeeze as much battery as possible. When I look over to say the Nexus 4 forum, I'm a bit envious on what those users are achieving on their batteries.

I'm debating switching from the N4 to the HOX+ but the battery is one huge concern. I traded a RAZR HD for a HOX+ and i should have it tomorrow so i can compare the two. I've been averaging between 4 and 5 hours of screen time per day, with my best being 5h 31min. The only thing that I'm thinking will help my case for the OX+ is that i will only use it on hspa+ instead of LTE.

Well, I choose the HOX+ mainly because you can't buy a N4, unless you go to the aftermarket and pay a premium. Also the 16GB is just not enough and LG lost me a customer coming from the LG G2x. Plus in Canada, there's not much benefit buying a phone off-contract. I was off-contract for the past 3yrs and my experience wasn't any better than the the providers that lock you in. That said, I'm guessing you will see better battery on your N4 compared to the HOX+...but hey, I don't either will come close to the RAZR HD for battery life.

Some gaming, web browsing, social apps, calling, texting and stuff (see app usage screenshot)
p.s. my phone is stock and unrooted and i dont use any power saver apps or anything like that. Just stock power saver option.
Oh and i played one game with power saver off, not for long tho. (was tegra3 game, that racing game, you can see it in screenshot)

Maybe I've not been using it for heavy gaming, but in the month I've had the phone, I've not run into any serious battery issues. If this were an issue, I'd probably install JuiceDefender, and configure it as per my schedule so push E-mails are not constantly keeping the radio on, as well as throttling CPU back.
I also have a charger in my car, so if I'm on the road, it gets charged.
my battery life usually gets me through the day until about 7pm with around 3hrs screen on time so i cant complain too much. i listen to music a lot and text heavily
Yeh. I dont thjnk ive seen better battery from any hox+ posted here. Ive seen 5hr screen time but the total run time is 6hrs.

Never had a problem with the battery life myself.

I might have a bad car charger, but when I'm running Navigation, it still drains the battery at 10%/h.
I think I do have higher battery life expectations. I tested with Juice Defender yesterday, and basically it provides around the same benefit as running in Battery Saver mode. Got 2hrs screen time with 14 hrs total run time while mostly connected to WIFI (maybe 2hrs or so connected to HSPA/LTE). Again this is OK...but not great.
Today I am testing with both JD and Power Saver on and will report back. It's the last day of my 14 day return/exchange policy and I'm planning to keep the HOX+. I have a very slight inclination to change to LG Optimus G as I believe it has the potential to get the same battery life as the Nexus 4. But I'm scared as hell about the LG support and the if people think the Dev community is thin here, it's basically a ghost town there. That said, it looks like they have a good build for CM 10.1.
Here is my best battery stat for HOX+, no games mainly whatsapp use with wifi on. Few voice calls and sms.

Screen on time

It's amazing how much we actually use our phones in a given day, especially when we watch "videos"! Rate this thread to express how many hours of screen-on time you can get on the LG G6 before depleting the battery.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!

I'm on the AT&t version and the battery life is crap. I've been lucky to get 3.5 hours of SOT. My 2 year old One M9 gets about the same battery life. I'm hoping to AT&T releases an update to improve this because everyone on T-mo talking about 6 hours of SOT with like 40% remaining.
Great sot without wifi
4 hours 3 mins sot 25% remaining . All on sprint LTE no wifi today with between 1/2 and full bars, usually full though. Insane coming from an s6 edge that would get maybe 2 hours before dying in the same conditions. Loving this phone. Very excited for kernels and ROMs to start hitting this phone

Have you been able to fix this? I'm also getting poor battery life.
almost 6 hours SOT?! i crack 5h even and it died as i hit that mark. Im assuming none of you guys are running the always on display? my other issue is at school service blows. I legit watched my phone bleed 12% battery in the course of one class.

I'm happy to report that I have, mostly. I took into the att store and they ran a diagnostic check on it and told me that the quickmemo app was hitting y processor pretty hard which is strange because I have never used it (it also doesn't show up under battery usage). It can't be disabled but I forced stopped it. When I did force stop it my ram usage dropped by like 10% so I don't know what the heck that app is doing. The odd thing is it will occasionally start up again and I have no idea why. I did open the app and set the capture+ action to be handled by gallery instead of quickmemo and there are no permissions set for it, so we'll see what that does. I'll be watching it closely.
The biggest culprit I believe was my outlook app was having a contact sync issue. Once I went on the app and fixed that issue my battery life has been great. I hit my phone hard yesterday to try it out and while I only had around 4 hours of SOT when the screen wasn't on I was listening to music (probably at least 4 hours of music playback). I downloaded apps from the playstore, surfed the web, streamed some videos, took photos and lot of other heavy uses and it made it from 6am to 6pm with 10% left before i plugged in. I was pretty impressed.
So I say mostly fixed it because fixing the outlook sync issues helped a great deal, but that quickmemo app could still cause a little drain and I can't figure out how to stop it. I'll keep an eye on it and report back.

This is great to hear. I did what some people recommended and did a factory reset, installing all apps "by hand". And force stopping the quickmemo app saved some ram/battery as well. Battery life and stand by seem a lot better. Not great, but better. Gonna see how it fairs in a few days. If it's still bad, might get a replacement. I'm hoping for an unlocked bootloader on this so I can debloat the damn thing. That would help a great deal with battery. Thanks.
7 hours and 26 minutes so far with 48 percent remaining. Estimated time remaining is 6 hours and 11 minutes I've used it pretty heavily throughout the day and this is day one of using it on battery so I'm very very impressed.

On a side note I recommend not using always on display there's really no need for it and it's going to waste your battery life.

What am I doing wrong here
1st full charge. Coming from a corrupted battery nexus 6p with 2hrs of sot, this phone is so much better in any case
Got mine in the mail yesterday, it was shipped with 40% juice. Had almost 3 hours of SOT on that
Let' see what my first charge will be like

The top three reasons for battery drain (with a non defective phone).
1. Screen on with full brightness.
2. Rogue application or data heavy application (email being a big one or apps that run on the background constantly).
3. Poor cell coverage area where phone is sucking up juice trying to stay connected to towers.
Best way to trouble shoot is to start with a 100% clean factory reset phone. Follow these steps
1. Reduce screen brightness as much as possible, using auto brightness helps, but you may have to adjust manually if it's at full ? in your location.
2. Don't install any applications at first. If your battery drain doesn't happen until after you install applications, then you'll need to figure out which one is the culprit.
3. Turn off the cell radio in poor coverage and see if that does anything. If your battery improves you know that's the issue. I know CDMA phones in poor coverage area suck the life out of a phone (Sprint and Verizon).
After that it's time to consider defective device.

Cell coverage i know is one reason while im in school. i swear that place has a jammer installed somewhere. with AOD ill watch the battery just drain itself. Im probably gonna do a factory reset today or tomorrow and see what comes of it.

General Battery life thread

There is a battery thread in P6 Pro section, but we don't have an equivalent here, so...
How's your battery on regular Pixel 6? Can't post any data from my side, as it's still being dispatched....
with my normal phone usage I am ending up with about 30-40% at the end of the day. With my Pixel 5a I still got about 60% juice. I cannot complain. I've seen wild differences on youtube from others (both good and terrible).
My battery life seems to be just fine.
Mine seems fine, it's been idle more than anything and it'll probably be that way since I try not to use it too much. When I'm at work I can't really use my phone anyway, so I expect battery life to be strong.
I also have a battery app that monitors usage and health of the battery if anyone is interested.

Yes I am. I only charged it once to 100 even though I know that's not good, but for first time I think it's ok.
I'm not sure i have enough stats to show since I've only used the app once to charge, but happy to share whatever info you need. Just let me know which screen to grab and I'll post.
comparison. Over 8 hours is pretty good.
I guess I can't complain.
Im getting about 9 hours of SOT. Using accubattery and this is while using youtube TV along with bluetooth (not using battery saver at all). The battery life is great on the pixel 6 pro and its a bit better than my s21 ultra.
proof
I'm guessing my stats are good? Idk where it got 4 sessions over the last 4 days from, but I installed the app yesterday and had it charged at 100% around 3PM. From then on I would use it randomly, mainly using chat through IM apps. I haven't done anything super battery heavy yet. I'm at 8% as I sit and write this...
Dayum. That's some iphone 13 pro max stats there lol.
It all depends on the connectivity, e.g. @android_dan is using 5G which is battery hungry, and also network reception is really low here.
I have huge drain from mobile network standby. View attachment received_785539938832034.webp
I tried many different things and seems that the problem is with esim card.
I hope they will fix that soon.

Even on 5G I have no complaints about battery life. I'm getting up at 4:30 am and going to bed at 10:30 pm with 20-30% battery. We've had some weather delays so I've been on the phone a lot throughout the day. No complaints here.
So I am using my P6 for 3 days and battery life is amazing when screen is on (I can get like 12 hour of sot if I would spend all day looking at my phone), but idle usage is pretty high for me - getting like 3-4% per hour while screen off on LTE, 2g disabled, AoD disabled.
Is anyone experiencing the same? Or maybe I still need to wait for Adaptive Battery's magic?

I get 5% drop over night while I'm sleeping and connected to wifi. All apps closed in the background. I don't think that's too bad in my case. Definitely let things "settle" after the first few days of use. I've seen lots of improvement in battery after having the phone for a week.
I tend to get thru a whole day no problem! I turned network preferences to LTE cuz my area doesn't have great 5g and I don't find it slow at all. And I'm on wifi most of the time anyway. At the end of the day I have somewhere between 7-9 hours SOT which is amazing! I watch lots of YouTube videos and listen to music throughout the day. Hope this helps!
for me, the battery is a tragedy, it drops in my eyes, I was able to get a maximum of 4h sot. On average, I have 2.5 to 3.5 hours of sot. I have a recommended 4G network set. I use 2 sim.

I am afraid that it will not happen, Google has always not paid attention to e-sim activities. Pixel 5 running 1xsim + e-sim lost animations, they never made it better

They're actively looking into the battery drain issue, and some folks have had success with doing a factory reset.
Google Issue Tracker
issuetracker.google.com
I was able to find out what was causing my phone to be active and never enter a deep sleep, which has improved the battery drain I was having. I'm still not sure why mobile network standby fluctuates on me; sometimes it'll be as low as 3% and others in the 20 when I'm not doing anything different at home.
