Nope, the Android Wear updates are coming directly from google. All Android Wear watches are like nexus devices.

Yes they are all updated from Google servers, but Google are fairly random with all their updates, the order they do them in never makes any sense to anyone, least of all them.

Here is how the update rollouts work. This applies to Nexus updates, Google app updates, and Android Wear updates. http://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/1r1dz4/44_kitkat_has_started_rolling_out_on_the_n4/cdiwt6f
It is, mostly.
Rollouts are conducted in phases. Typically they start at 1% of devices for around 24 - 48 hours; we watch the return rates and resulting device checkins and error reports (if any), and make sure nothing looks wrong before sending it to more. Then typically it goes to 25%, 50%, 100% over the course of a week or two.
What the percentages mean is that when your device checks in, it has a 1% chance (for example) of being offered the OTA. If it doesn't (randomly) get an offer, it will never get an offer until the next batch.
IOW, once your device checks in and gets turned down, that's it until the next batch. Mashing on the "check for updates" button just causes your device to check in again, and get automatically turned down again. Think about how that makes your device feel! WON'T SOMEONE PLEASE THINK OF THE PHONES?!
That said, once the new batch does start, hitting that button does give you a new roll of the dice -- but once. Since devices usually only check in for system updates every 24 hours (I think? Certainly on a many-hours basis) this can get you your shot sooner than it would happen on its own.
So, mash away. Just be patient, and mashing on it more often than once or twice a day isn't going to gain you anything.
Edit: also, keep in mind that this isn't first-come/first-served. You're not racing other devices to get your slot in the current batch, or something.

Yes, but what I meant is the order that devices get it, not individual units.

Looks like it may be rolling out today.

im updating mine

It seems to push notifications to the watch quicker (before it would always lag a second or two) and there seems to be a lot more options, like having a flashlight, the ability to change font sizes, etc.

Has any one grabbed the OTA?

Man I can't wait ! Still haven't got ota how do gestures work ?

Constantly Restarting

My prime reboots at least 3 or 4 times a day, whether it's browsing the web, using google maps, or using any of the other apps. It stalls, then restarts. It's running ICS.
I really like the Prime, had no defects, but I'm going to have to return it because this is totally unacceptable. Is anyone else having this issue?

So after using it for a couple of hours, I'm still getting multiple random restarts with the latest update I'll do a factory reset anyway before I bring it back, but quite honestly why should I have to my spend time trying to work out what works and what doesn't? if I can't use the device for its intended purpose, I can't see any sense in keeping it.
It's really a shame, I wanted to like the TP, on paper it has everything I was looking for in a tablet. The reality though is it doesn't live up to expectations. Random restarts are just not acceptable when you're trying to compete with the iPad, it's not good enough.
I was in the same boat and the update yesterday did not help.
There's another update floating around that was sent out by an Asus tech to try out. I installed that one last night, too and have not had any problems since then.
I think the light is at the end of the tunnel!
Why create a new thread for a subject that has an Official ASUS thread at the very top of this General forum.

@Mods, last post

GPL Source

Why hasn't ASUS released the kernel source anywhere for the ZenWatch 2? They're required to publicly release their kernel source (though license requirements obviously aren't very enforceable), and nobody seems to care that ASUS is violating the GPL.
I feel like we need to start bugging ASUS to release their kernel source for the ZenWatch 2. The more people who complain to ASUS, the more likely they'll release it.

I didn't see one mention of the GPL in his post or him asking people to send complaints to ASUS, I think a strongly-worded message might get more attention from ASUS than just asking vaguely for the "source code so we can start dev on it". I'd send a complaint that they're violating the GPL through this form.

Not saying its a bad watch for its buck. But Asus should have spent more time on the Bluetooth.

The link you're talking about is the instructions for a firmware update, not source code.
As of January 25th, the source for the ZenWatch 2 isn't up. I haven't received a response to my compliant yet from ASUS. Not sure why you think this watch is 'weak and boring'. If ASUS actually releases the source code there would be a lot more developer interest.

What exactly is wrong with the Bluetooth in this watch? You seem to be the only person complaining about it. I haven't had any Bluetooth issues at all on my ZenWatch 2, but I guess you could've gotten a defective unit.

The issue was the same on both watches. If the watch gets more then 7 ft away from the phone. It's no good. I like putting my phone in one place of the house. And be able to go to the other room without carrying my phone. To get my notification. With zenwatch you can't do that.
I rarely have issues. I suspect my issue has more to do with Doze than the watch. Seems like Doze turns off BT, which tells Wear that the watch is disconnected. I then get the disconnected icon on the watch. Usually when I wake up the watch it'll reconnect though. This is all while the phone is in another room and I'm using WiFi.
I've got a G4 and I rarely get any sort of disconnection. I can leave my phone charging on my desk and get notifications while I'm helping someone at their desk 80 feet away. I wonder if it's just an issue with individual watches, or if it's down to the model of phone.
Well I am trying something right now. Day 4 on the custom kernel. Working on the battery first. Then going to the signal. Yes it's missing one day because I flashes 6.0 on the phone. I do turn the watch off between 9pm till 4 in the morning..
You already got a custom kernel for the ZW2?

Anyone know a more precise date? I'm getting king of annoyed with Asus at this point.

This is unfortunately probably true.
Unfortunately, we don't know where the hold up is. Unlike normal Android builds, Google controls Android Wear and builds the ROM which OEMs then tweak. Supposedly, the Zenwatches are being held up by Google, not Asus. I don't get why, since all Android watches from the ZW2 generation had the exact same SoC, and I believe all of the watches in the ZW3 generation also have the exact same SoC, but there you have it.
Shut up about wear 2.0. The watch works fine as it is.

Not for everyone. I would like to just type or write words on my watch like you can do in AW2.0 instead of saying them out loud. But I can't right now... Also there are a lot of problems with the watch using my phone's GPS, which I didn't have on WebWear 2.0. So no, it isn't working fine as it is for me.

Not only that, but I have constant issues with my phone going to DnD as well as text messages delayed on my Zenwatch for 5,10,15+ minutes, too. We need Android Wear 2.0 sooner rather than later! I rely on message alerts when I am running equipment and can't hear/feel my phone!
Not to mention uninstalling useless apps. I get notified Everytime I drive by a Lowe's. The app on the watch literally does nothing useful. I can't uninstall it without uninstalling the app from my phone.

You do know you can turn off notifications for that?
When a company says they will have something out by a specific time they should either keep to their word or at least be honest if there's delays. ASUS so far has not replied to one single comment I've posted on social media on why we haven't gotten the update. To me that's a sign of a company that doesn't care about it's customers is when they don't even attempt to answer simple questions. Even a blank "it's delayed until further notice" is better than dead silence.

Zenwatch 3 getting aw 2.0 now

heres hoping we are next! http://www.androidpolice.com/2017/05/16/android-wear-2-0-now-rolling-zenwatch-3/
They also said Google is holding up the update for the ZW2 due to some final bugs which they stated..... Asus didn't got info from Google about the ZW2 yet. So I bet we have to wait a few more days/weeks
Source: https://twitter.com/ASUSUK/status/864492209919361025 (scroll down a bit)
Edit: Asus made a mistake, it still isn't rolling out to both watches :/

What build are you running? Is that annoying screen rotation issue still present?
I asked Asus customer support, they say
"The development team did not provide us with an exact date for update releases however they should be out during late 2nd quarter to early 3rd quarter. They are working their best to finish testing and apply the updates so they can be released for Q2."
So don't expect the update to come anytime soon.... Don't believe any timeline Asus gives you, you will only get dissapointed when they break their promise again. One day we'll get the update, maybe.

HBO GO, DirectV Now, Movies Anywhere Crashing Upon Launch

Just picked up a Mate 10 Pro from Best Buy. It updated to the latest version of BLA-A09 8.0.0.112(C567). Apps HBO GO, DirecTV Now, and Movies Anywhere crashes upon launch. I am not rooted. Anyone experiencing a similar issue? Wondering if it has to do with the US security issues with Huawei and perhaps these apps do not want it running on Huawei phones? This would definitely be a deal breaker for me. My Widevine DRM security level is at L1 and Netflix and Amazon Prime Videos run.
I use the DirecTV Now beta app on my US Mate 10 Pro.

That's really weird. I have the same firmware as you too. I downloaded HBO now, even though I don't have HBO and it starts up without crashes. Wish I knew why you're having issues.
I did a little more testing. All the apps work fine on initial install. When it stops working is once the device is rebooted. Once it's rebooted, those apps will never work again no matter if uninstall and reinistall as many times as you want. Only way to get them working is by doing a factory reset.
Well I'll be. I rebooted my phone, and yup, DirecTV NOW just closes. I don't even get a toast message saying it closed or anything. Just acts like it's going to open, then shuts off. This sucks, at least you're not the only one!

Well as I expected they were no help at all other than to say they will forward the issue to engineering. Meanwhile you're stuck with a phone that you can't reboot and/or hope it doesn't reboot on it's own. A shame for such a magnificent device. I got 2 weeks to return it to Best Buy. I'll probably hold out until the very last day to see if they push out an update.

Lame definitely. I just hope Huawei fixes it. I'm pretty much sure this is a bug we're exploiting and once Google patches it, we're done. It must be some kind of security check that these apps don't want running on Huawei because of the US government warning. In theory all apps could so this and what we're left with would be a very expensive brick.
