[Q] Z7 Max update impossible - ZTE Z7, Z7 Max, Z7 Mini

Hi all,
I bought a Z7 MAX on lenten.fr a few month ago and I think they put a custom rom on it (because I have multi-language on it).
I have a problem, every time i boot my phone it ask me to do an update (NX505J_CNCommon_V1.38). It starts but it is always failed.
So I decided to put an other custom rom (like cyanogen) or the official one but it is impossible, could some one help me please?
My mobile phone is:
NX505J
nubia UI: V9.5.0
Android version: 4.4.2
build number: NX505J_CNCommon_V9.29
Hardware version: NX505JMB_A
Thanks,

You can only do official over the air updates if you are running stock ROM and recovery and unrooted. I am in the same boat as you, however I am just waiting for official android v5.0 to be released for the mini as there is no point in upgrading when that release will be coming very soon.
instructions are here anyway:

Are you going through the Nubia update app or flashing through recovery? Many European dealers install their own custom ROM which ends up impossible to update through Nubia update.
You should download the official 1.64 ROM (the latest Android 4.4.2 version; google "ZTE Nubia Z7 Max Official ROM v1.64", it should be on NeedROM) and install that through recovery. From there you can either install CM or upgrade to official Android 5.0. You can find instructions for installing ROMs through recovery mode in the post flamery linked.

Unfortunately nubiaforums is closed
Could you point me to instruction how did you upgrade this 9.29 ROM?
[EDIT]
So, I'll aswer myself, in case there is another one with such old ROM.
Problem solved, found a way to upgrade to Lolipop. Thanks to user craagz, who wrote this tutorial (just erase spaces in http).
Next I have installed official 2.13 ROM (nubia updater made resize of patitions) - it's lolipop 5.0.0.
One thing - USB debugging must be switched off
Next step - from stock recovery from ROM 2.13 directly installed newest official ROM-3.77 - lolipop 5.1.1, and with tigreos tutorial from needrom/ and rooted and gapps.
That end I just have to configure apps and make LTE works

[Q] Flashing Lenovo A806 Rom?

Is it possible to flash a Lenovo A806 phone with a ROM that's not from Lenovo?
I want to take the stock ROM and replace it with a pure Android 4.4.2 Rom.
Basically, change the OS to pure android and away from Lenovo.
Thanks
Troy
Please, Bump
Okay,
Follow up question.
Can I flash the A806 with a MTK6592 ROM?
Flashing a ROM
So did I put this in the wrong thread?
No body here knows about flashing ROM's?
Where should I ask this question to get an answer?
Thanks
For flashing and rooting search for A806 + root in XDA forums, there is separate thread about rooting where I also posted link to my blog where is English how to root it and flash custom recovery so you can flash any ROM. As for clean Android see below.
there is AOSP Beta 1 (ported VIVO?) Kit Kat ROM available for A806 and A808T in one package released few days ago, more info in this thread:
http://bbs.lenovo.com/a8/t476045/
here is untouched ZIP file with AOSP ROM for A808T and A806 reuploaded by me:
http://www.mirrorupload.net/file/JC2BS6QC/#!Lenovo_A808T_AND_A806_AOSP_BETA1.zip
don't use OTA automatic update after flashing this ROM!
Xposed still should not work, gestures on switched off black screen should not work, except Weather and some Mobile phone assistant (flashing tools?) ROM should be pure Kit Kat without Lenovo stuff since it's ported from VIVO phone (?)
there should be also some issue with notification bar freezing phone when opening Wifi settings, here is patch for it (although I red about different issue about reported wrong storage capacity 8GB instead of 16GB) untouched reuploaded by me
http://www.mirrorupload.net/file/NHQXFMVZ/#!zip
for issue with Wifi disconnecting in Advanced wifi settings you should set ALWAYS connected, no energy saving or anything
I haven't tested this ROM, so use it on your own risk, more info from people who used it are in thread linked in beginning of my post but I tried to summarize all information on first 17 pages of that thread. I am still waiting for someone to test it on A806 and give me feedback, I don't feel that adveturous to reinstall everything.
Thanks,
Could you answer my questions?
Thanks
I also having problem to flash A806. It's from china. Most of the apps using china character.
I manage to flash a ROM suing SP tool and rom from needrom dot com.

Lenovo P780 8GB Install ROM Tutorial

Good Day, XDA's! I'm new to xda-developers so please forgive my ignorance. I have a Lenovo P780 8GB device variant, it has Chinese Jelly Bean ported (See my device Definition).
Model number: Lenovo P780_ROW
Android version: 4.2.1
Baseband version: P780.V20, 2013/07/31 10:51
Build number: P780_8G_ROW_S119_130930
The problem with this device is that, it has no GOOGLE Play preinstalled so installing apps may only be possible via APK (w/c I don't like!). Based on my device and variant. Can someone teach me to install the original Stock ROM for P780 8GB? The one that came with Lenovo and has GOOGLE Apps preinstalled already (If stock ROM exists). Thanks in advanced.
Go to Development section. There look for stock firmware. All you have to do is to install drivers , reboot the computer. You will find some good drivers around. Warrning. Look for 8 Gb phone firmware. Not 4 Gb. Good luck.

Successfully Installed the Factory ROM
Thanks for the reply, I have successfully installed the factory ROM of my P780 8GB later evening after my post. I followed this tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/lenovo-p780/development/lenovo-p780-guide-t2658144 . After successfully installing it, I checked the updates and there I found new update, I installed it and once again checked for new updates; I found the KitKat update 4.4 I installed it. Now I have the Android 4.4 KitKat. Upon checking another update I received the S226 around (743MB) (I don't think it's Lollipop, I didn't downloaded it yet).

After S226 you must update to S228.
S228 is the last official firmware released by Lenovo.

If that's the case, is it safe to say that no updates will no longer come in the near future? Can I install other ROMs for my device? What do you think is currently the best stable, fully functional ROM out there that I can install for good? Can you suggest me some? Thanks. I think this will be my last post for now.

Try MIUI. I use MIUI for some time now. USNKREAL MIUI from mirror 7 is good and is receiving weekly OTA updates.
To install this firmware you must install latest TWRP. You can find the tutorial and TWRP in my post Rooting tutorial for kitkat located in Q&A section.
Good luck.

ZTE Nubia Z11 Mini - NX529J - International Rom / Firmware

Hello to anyone!
I just purchased this beautiful Z11 Mini. It arrived with a quite nice rom pre-installed, with GApps etc. But as far as I searched, there's still chinese writings, apps, and some kind of errors.
Someone knows where to find a firmware that could replace this one, with less errors and maybe more languages? An international rom, just saying.
Thanks in advance, really.
UP?
UP?
You can not port the ROM by CM ?
Here is a ROM but still 5.1.1.
Which version do you have.
The latest version is I think 1:30 ZTE.
Once the regular Z11 comes, there will be the marshmallow version.
But I want to have CM! I try all the time, but I do not come here throughout.

I bought one of these last night.
Have you found any custom ROMs for it on XDA since first posting?
Hi.
The best rom available for this model is here:

You must have Twrp installed on your phone and just flash.
It's the 1.30 version but you will get an Ota notification to update to V 1.32.
Multilanguage and stable.
Hey,
I have downloaded the last version from Nubia (1.36) and customized it to remove chinese bloatware and useless stuff.
It's light enough to flash the STOCK opengapps ! (64 Bits for 5.1)
First boot take a while when flashing stock but it's working smoothly !
Here is my share : https://mega.nz/#!ehBAHZAK!t6MVMKOhRNHjomBwfnKXDvvG4U5Nf-samL1EYNddFAk
Flash it from TWRP with a full wipe.

Few questions about changing roms [S6] Please Help

Hi,
Details about phone: Samsung S6 (G920I) I can't remember the exact ROM im on (yes im a noob). However my build number is LMY47X, which when searched by most views comes up with this rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-w/development/rom-aosp-alpha-1-t3107740) Android version 5.1.1 I have TWRP v. 3.0.2-1 as my custom recovery.
So my phone keeps restarting randomly been getting worse over the past few weeks. So I want to try a new ROM (had my current one for like 8 months). So I made a ROM back up just in case through TWRP and backed up all my user data through Titanium and exported both of it onto my PC.
I found a ROM I want to use "XtreStoLite" ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...xtrestolite-deodexed-mod-edition-1-0-t3094423) but I have a few questions before I try to install it.
First of will this work fine for the current setup I have?
Since I'm on 5.1.1 and they have a ROM version for 6.0.1 will I be able to install this version or do I have to use the 5.1.1 version? I've tried updating to 6.0.1 on my current ROM but my provider won't let me update OTA. Only way is to remove root and return it back to the stock ROM which I don't really want to do if I can avoid it.
Please help, any information will be greatly appreciated, feel free to ask any questions.

This ROM will work for your device. Based on what I read in the OP's post on how to install this ROM there are two prerequisites. You will need to use Odin to flash a Marshmallow bootloader and a Marshmallow modem for this ROM to work. This is an excerpt from the ROM's OP:
How-to Install:
Install Marshmallow bootloader & modem and install custom recovery:
- Install the correct MM bootloader & modem for your model with Odin (see post #5 of this thread)
- Make sure that you have an working TWRP custom recovery installed.
If you follow the OP's instructions you should not have any problems. Make sure you read, read and read. The OP has given an excellent guide. Post #5 in this thread has the download links for the Marshmallow bootloader and modem and instructions on what slot to put the files in using Odin. Good luck and happy flashing.
Also, if you wanted to stick with a Lollipop ROM the OP still has links to his Lollipop ROM's available.

Flashing phone soft help. Newbie questions.

Hello,
So I received this phone from my uncle to "fix" because it kept showing "Lenovo lockscreen has stopped working" nonstop. Now I want to flash a new ROM to it.
What I know about the phone:
Model -Lenovo P780
Android -4.4.2
Build-P780.V101, 2014/03/12 15:06
VIBEUI_V2.0 1437_7.14 1_ST_P780
Recovery -heweikeji CWM-Recovery v6.0.4.4 Modd by heweikeji_yueyue.
It's a CN rom already flashed custom ( I think )
I want to flash a new ROM for him because this one is really clustered ( even after factory reset tons of unnecessary apps )
My question.
What do I need to flash a new rom to this phone?
What rom should I pick? (he's a regular user ).
Do I need to update recovery?
Need the easiest way out possible.

Look here and read that tutorial about changing your firmware with one still developed.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lenovo-p780/help/row-cn-how-to-check-t3333532/page2
After that go to development area in MIUI section, mirror 9. There are latest custom firmware stable versions with OTA suport.
Good luck.
