Auto-Optimizer
For Nameless Note 4
>.What AUTO-OPTIMIZER does:<
1. Satisfactorily reduces the recents menu lag
2. Fixes the problem of phone becoming slow/sluggish after a few days
3. * Fixes Samsung's silly RAM caching * (read below)
4. Makes the phone really snappy
In short it helps the device having 3GB of RAM and 2.7 Ghz processor to perform in the way it is supposed to
> What YOU should do <
After flashing the Rom,
1.Open terminal emulator, and type (without the quotes)
2.'su' (and press enter)
3.grant root permission,then type
4. '360' (and press enter)
5. Then choose auto-optimize by typing '1'(and press enter)
That's it,very simple.
* INFORMATION *
All the beloved note 4 users on a touchwiz rom (odexed/deodexed) would have definitely faced some or all of the following problems:
1) Slow recents menu
2) Phone gets slow after using 3 or 4 or 5 days
3) Silly behaviour of app reloading from the beginning when you try to multitask.
These annoying behaviour are so connected with each other, so the auto-optimizer is designed to eliminate these problems,
Samsung's stock multitasking behaviour so very poor, ( in s6 too).. when u open 2 or 3 huge apps Ram starts leaking (bad) and app is pushed out of memory but..... Sammy just keeps the picture of the app in recents and a shorcut to launch it when u select it, but since it already has been pushed out of memory it reloads from the beginning...The optimizer will take care of this behaviour and will let u multitask in the best possible way rather than the samsung's stock behaviour of pretending to keep the app in memory for a whole day.
And secondly the sluggishness of phone after a few days is because of the 100s of useless files created and left there , optimizer will also clean these unnecessary files.
Added some more awesome tweaks to keep ur beast fired up..!
Still wondering whether it works or not? Just Flash and enjoy the magic...

the pain of it all is the note 4 originally got me so frustrated that i switched back to z3 which is so snappy.
After i have reinstalled whatever i need (you know, the same old copy/reinstall of messages of whatsapp etc), it suddenly dawned on me that one of the geniuses on xda must have solved the lag issue and i chanced upon this.
But now i am stuck , albeit happily, to choose between note 4 and z3!

In particular I love how you make a point to respond to pretty much everyone's question or query. That's one of the reasons why I was sold on your rom. I know if I ever run into troubles you'll be there to help. I can't wait to see what's in store for us in the future. Keep up the great work buddy.

First of all Congratulations for an amazing ROM, for the lightness, for the speed, and stability
Have been using this for 4 days now. Was earlier on Dr Ketan's ROM, in fact bought the G model for his support. With all due respect to his amazing work and continuous support to the community, but I value stability over features so looked around and installed this ROM.
Now just few observations, first of all began with Emotion kernel tried 18 19 back to 18 but kept feeling stutters, heating, occasionally even reeboots. I underclocked and undervolted to avoid heating, different CPU governors, but today switched to STOCK, WOW.... ya last few hours have been amazing. In every aspect.
Next, a request. I need multi instance feature especially because in my profession often I required to open 2 instances of Gallery side by side to compare before after pictures of my cosmetic surgery patients. Kindly guide me how to get this working.
Thanks.

PACman all in 1 ROM

News about ParanoidPrefrences.apk
Due to a request from PA Team to take down ParanoidPreferences, from v16.1.0 forward I exclude ParanoidPrefereances.apk from the ROM.

I ask you please then, to remove it from your builds. I can offer you this opensource alternative found on our ics branch for Settings app:
https://github.com/ParanoidAndroid/a...tings/paranoid
You should spread the word around XDA PAC roms, as well, so all the builds remove it from the package.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
D4.
But the framework still support it, so if you still want to use PA settings, then get it somewhere else & use it at your own responsibility.
Do not put a link to ParanoidPreferences, apk in this thread !!! do it somewhere else.
To all porters & compilers, please strip down your rom, remove ParanoidPreferences.apk from there.
Use the new Setting.apk to prevent FC when there is no ParanoidPreferences.apk inside the ROM

About
This ROM is a port from the Xperia RAY thread, but built from source for our PLAY's, originally developed by slz.kiev here is the original thread let him know his
work is appreciated :good: For along time I wished a ROM like this would be developed, and thanks to slz.kiev it has.
Please Note this is WIP and is not completely bug free, as well as having any issues as CM10 does.
This ROM is build from source for ZEUS with all recent updates to CM10, AOKP and PA included as of 23-10-12.

- Always make a cwm backup / TWRP
- Always wipe data when switching ROM, unless you came from previous version of the same ROM ( or OP states otherwise

Make sure you follow these instructions exactly
- Flash provided kernel or LuPuS v7 or Turbo Kernel
- Wipe data
- Wipe cache
- Wipe Dalvik cache
- Flash ROM
- To enter Multi-boot Menu press volume-down key when led turns blue and vibrates
Note-
Now ALPHA there are some com.android.phone FC's they do not happen all the time but when you boot the phone for the first time you may get one(or not)
If you ever get a com.android.phone FC and screen is in lock and will not wake, hold power button, while clicking OK on com.android.phone FC message this will fix the phone being locked.
If you have an issue and you want to call our attention, here's what you do:
1. Try everything you can, find solutions for yourself. Wipe caches, revert all your settings you have made, go back to your stock ROM /, PA Kernel, factory reset if you have to or reflash the rom. Assume that the issue is on your side and try your best to isolate it.
2. Search this thread and Cyanogenmods (its our base) for possible reoccurences of your issue and hopefully solutions that may have come up.
3. If you think the issue is important enough that we should cease our work and look into it, post your issue, BUT ...
... stay friendly, do not demand anything, do not threaten. Remeber this work was created free of charge.
... explain your issue as precise as you can do not give 1 word descriptions of a problem, name the exact apps and conditions that cause trouble, help us to replicate the issue right away. If we can't there's no way we can fix it and your post will simply clutter the thread
... collect evidence, keep in mind this is a developer thread so even if you are not one, do us the favor and research how to record logcat. logcat is the single most important help you can give us to resolve your issue.

When will there be a new release??
Please do not ask this question, follow the XDA rules / thread rules, the last thing myself and other DEV's like looking at is a thread full of....
- May I ask how long would you say before next update
- Is a new version being worked on
- When will this are that be fixed
- Are you stuck on something
( I could go through this thread and pick out alot of ways around asking for an ETA, none are wecome and WILL be ignored)
Any other ways of asking for ETA's they are all AGAINST this threads RULES.

Well I flashed your ICS kernal, wiped, installed rom and all that you asked for then installed the jb kernal provided. Will that be okay? I managed to see the sexy boot animation
EDIT:
Booted and looks like its working great, thanks will mess around after while
Also I have 2 camera's installed?
EDIT2: one last thing, GAPPS. DO I install normal JB ones or are there special?

I don't believe so. FXP's builds have a FC on com.android.phone, but Pax found a fix for this somehow.

I'll see if CM9 CDMA libs do any good.
One thing that I do notice is that Link2SD does not work.
Is this problem specific to JB?
Hmm, whether to try this or C.A.M.P ROM. I actually found this ROM thru that guy's ROM's page's link to your kernel.

R800x-unlocked/AOKP m6
I just tried the CAMP ver 2.1 and no go, so im gonna try this one right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll post back, seems great too!
EDIT: Ok, tried it now and it looks very nice, it's fast and smooth, camera FC's every time i open, and after 5th atempt phone reboots(twice now), didin't get any com.android.phone FC's so far, promising too.
Internal memory is fantastic, 413 MB with no apps installed yet. wifi works great too. I think that's all so far, i'll keep looking
EDIT 2: No google play app found, or is there? i'll install the apk just to make sure.

[ROM][Kernel] Sanity-ROM [21/04/14] [4.4.2] [3.4.86] [CM11] [Bricked]

Sanity-ROM
- About -
This ROM was started months ago as i did not found the ROM i liked for my Nexus 5.
Nightlies were pretty much stock and all the kangs were too bloated with tons of untested features.
So i started to create this ROM as a combination of nice CM11 and an already almost perfect kernel(bricked from showp).
Just some nice cherry-picks here and there and small optimizations that are well tested.
I chose this name as there are no fancy or unstable features integrated and no insane build flag ricing is done.
This rom is optimized for: usability, battery, stability and speed where it does not hurt the other targets.
Just the perfect daily-driver for me.
Now i want to share the result with you and hope that you like it as well.

I am not asking for donations to me. I do this only for fun.
But yesterday a good friend of mine asked me to donate some money to weitblick e.V. which is a german charity organisation.
In three month he goes to Kenya with them and helps buildings class rooms for children.
The money will only be taken for building material and not for his journey.
We would be very thankful for every penny you give.
The easiest way is to send me the money and i will forward everything to them.
If you want to donate directly, feel free to ask me for their bank account.

Most changes are under the hood and hard to see on screens. And as it contains theme engine you can customize any way you like.

Yes quick settings, are customizable.
Long press home key is customizable as well.
Rom seems great so far. 2 questions :
- is there any way to activate battery percentage? Maybe the stock way? Or am I just missing the right menu?
And: does cm11 allow bigger (4*4) pattern unlock? Or completely drawn gestures?

Both features are not stable/kk guideline compatible yet. So i left them out for Sanity.
Will be integrated as soon as they are.
Stock percentage can be activated with an app that is available somewhere at xda.

Very good rom, very stable and smooth, especially with art enabled. But the YouTube video playback bug is present and please make it possible to open notifications with a button on the navbar. Thanks for this great rom.

WOW This ROM is so crazy awesome, thank you!!!!! I love that it has CM11 features (most pertinent to me is USB Audio which works as it does with pure CM11 for Nexus 5) AND AND AND Bricked Kernel which is a great kernel with that gamechanger sweep2wake (and doubletap2wake) feature!! My power button is going to thank me for sweep2wake!
I assume that as CM11 gets updated (and even goes official), that this rom will get updated to have that official CM11 baked in? Ditto for Bricked Kernel updates?

Thanks to @scrosler, @jakdillard, @DJLamontagneIII for all of the information and tips on building ROMs and @flar2 for letting me use his kernel, and finally thanks to @2jzmoe for testing out the initial builds.

More then likely no...I didnt know the patch was needed. I only have flo so forgive my lack of knowledge :/

No problem. You do a great job.
You need to open bools.xml in the text editor of your choice. You're looking for the line that says
<bool name="config_voice_capable">false</bool>
There is a change in bool.xml - included in framework-res.apk needed. All you need to do is change false to true, so you should end up with
<bool name="config_voice_capable">true</bool>
After that you can install some less apk to have native SMS on deb again.

Looks good and no errors or force closes but I'm getting pretty bad battery life. Currently at 40% used in only 15 hours with less than an hour screen time and using wifi. Bbs screener attached. This is after setting up everything and first full charge.
As a reference, using stock 4.4 Rom previously would last at least 3 days with the same usage.

Thanks for the feedback! not too sure what to do to make better i think maybe its the sweep 2 wake functions causing that as well I noticed live wallpapers chewed up the battery as well. I'll take a look and see what I can find no guarantees though
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
Forgot about s2w etc as I use a case with the magnet. Assume bulletproof has no config so I could install the full elementalx and disable that stuff to see if it helps.
I disabled the live wallpapers at the start and never use them anyway. So won't be that in my case.
Also don't have any partial or kernel wakelocks over about 3 mins so the thing is sleeping fine. Must be Wi-Fi on 100% but don't recall if stock Rom did the same thing?

using trickster you can disable s2w functions or a text editor will disable it. the only thing bulletproof does offer is adjustable clocks speeds. Finally from what i recall Wi-Fi is on 100% in stock roms
I'll try that next. Currently charging it up to test what happens if WiFi is set to turn off when sleeping. Because of lte, have to do airplane mode first then turn WiFi back on otherwise during sleep, WiFi shuts off and 4G kicks in which probably uses more battery.

Looks quite good. SMS features are available. Thx. :good:
Only one hint: BasicSmsReceiver.apk is not needed if CellBroadcastReceiver.apk is also added for the SMS feature.
dre, my idea didn't yield any better battery life. I then tried disabling s2w and still no difference.
Going to install stock rom to get some better baseline figures and try again as I like the rom.

Sorry to hear that its not working out...if you think its kernel related I could build one with stock kernel instead but to be honest I don't know how much of a difference it would make as bulletproof kernel is basically stock with s2w and d2tw functions :/
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
Nah I wouldn't bother as I agree that the bulletproof kernel shouldn't cause any adverse effect. I've installed the stock 4.4.2 ROM and wil let it run a day or so to get a proper baseline with some BetterBatteryStat dumps then try yours again and compare. See if I can find where the extra drain is attributed to.
dre1187 have compared to stock and cannot find any appreciable difference in wakelocks (kernel or partial) or even CPU states for the same period of time and usage (actually under stock usage was higher even) except to say that this ROM has 3x the battery consumption. Very strange. Good luck with future builds, I'll give it another shot in the future.

Question! If you learned all that stuff from dipesh (I assume you know him in real life then?), why aren't you making an ultimate rom together? I don't want to chose between two great roms and I use dipesh's UItimate PureXSP rom now (since it's based on CE firmware). Considering all your tweaks though, it looks like if you combine your roms, you would get an epic mix with the best of both worlds! I am not sure what tweaks aren't included in the UItimate PureXSP rom that you have and vice versa, but it would be sweet if you could make one great rom instead of letting me choose !

The base rom used is purestockdeodexed v2 which is based on AU firmware
So its the 99% of the rom except few tweaks here and there which i think wont matter a lot..i am done with making roms with sp
Now i am going to update the Ultimate Pure Black rom to ce firmware
And will provide updates to Ultimate PureXSP
If i get some differen ideas surely will make one again

Would you consider collaborating with itseasy21 (or implementing his features in your rom), or maybe even teaching me about rom making (I dont know if that is even possible since I dont know you in real life, heh)? Cause even though it's about little tweaks, I think combining all those little tweaks together would create the ultimate (pre 4.4) SP experience!
And why are you going to stop making roms ?

Kernel Tweaking Starter Guide (Including Colors):
If you are having issues please notify RIPng ,The Kernel Dev, on his hangouts: [email protected]
This ROM comes pre packaged with the Sensei Kernel which allows for a variety of tweaking options.
The following can be done using your favorite kernel tweaking app. I use FauxClock.
Updating The Kernel:
Before we get started, you are going to want to make sure your kernel is the latest! RIPng, the developer of Sensei Kernel, frequently releases new builds so its highly likely the kernel packaged with the ROM is out of date. First go to your settings menu, then about phone, then look at the section titled "Kernel Version". You should see something like "3.10.61 ~SENSEI.R7". R7 is the version of the kernel. Now go to the kernel thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/development/kernel-sensei-kernel-t2956283 you will see in the title what version kernel is the current release. As of this writing it is R9 for example. To update the kernel, simply click the downloads link and find the latest version. Once downloaded just go into TWRP and flash the kernel. Do not wipe anything. You now have the latest Sensei Kernel
Clock Speed:
To begin I prefer to leave my max clock speed at the stock 2.649ghz, this is because I have a bin 5 CPU . Set min CPU as low as it can go. As of current release this is 300. For the adventurous you can try 2.88ghz. For people near or below bin 5, you will want the voltage for that frequency around 1155mVolts. If you really wanna over clock you can try 2.95ghz. Again I've found a voltage of ~1200mVolts to be sufficient for stability. I don't recommend attempting 3ghz unless you are above a bin 6.
To find your CPU binning run this command in terminal emulator:
su (enter)
cat /proc/cpu/msm_acpu_pvs (enter)
note that the number may be displayed at the beginning of the next line.
It will then display a number from 0-15. 15 being the best. Don't stress over it too much if you score low, its not the end of the world. It just means you need marginally more voltage to run each frequency.
Governor:
Most people will probably want to just leave this set to interactive. Its a really good governor that is being actively devolped by CAF and Google. Its "smarter" than OnDemand and generally considered to offer better battery life. If you want even more smoothness some consider OnDemand to provide a bit better performance, however you may get slightly worse battery life. This is because OnDemand ramps up to max frequency when there's is load put on the CPU and then slowly works its way down. Interactive scales through the frequencies on the way up and down which saves battery life but prevents it from jumping to max speed as fast if it is needed. Simms22 recommends using the OnDemand governor with "upthreshold" set to 98 and the sampling rate set to 15000. That is the default setting of the Trinity Kernel. Mistertac made the great suggestion of turning the max screen off frequency down to 600mhz if using the interactive governor. This will prevent any misbehaving apps from keeping CPU ramped up while screen is off and give better idle drain. The actual number you would have to type in would be 652800 for the screen off frequency. As of the latest update I recommend running the intelliactive governor, its basically an enhanced version of the interactive governor created by the brilliant faux123, it is designed to run with intelliplug, but works on mpdecision as well.
Hotplugging:
Next go to hot plugging section and disable MPDecision(make poor decision) and enable intelliplug. FauxClock allows you to further configure intelliplug. If you want more battery set it to Conservative (4) mode which will hotplug the CPU more conservatively and save you battery, essentially this means it will use less cores if it can. For most people, leaving it on Balanced (4) mode will be fine. If you want further battery savings you can set it to EcoPerformance (2) which will only use a max of 2 cores.
Voltage Control:
Next go to voltage control. I'm a Bin 5 and I can use a 24mVolt undervolt without becoming unstable. This means pretty much anyone can probably get away with this and its across the board battery savings so you may as well. Rember! Never set voltages to apply on boot until you have tested them for a few hours first! Most people can probably get away with a 36mVolt undervolt. Also remember that if you are running an over clock you may not want to undervolt. If you find yourself running into freezes or random reboots remove the undervolt!
I/O Settings:
For I/O scheduler select Deadline. As of the current available options Deadline is the best. I then proceeded to do a lot of benchmarking with different read ahead sizes. 1024 seems to be the optimal setting. Going larger degraded performance as did going lower. Newer builds of Sensei now include FIOPS scheduler which is widely regarded as one of the best for phones, so I suggest using that over deadline.
Color Control:
Next you may want to adjust Screen RGB. WrinkleFree over in the Lean Kernel thread did extensive testing with a professional grade $1000 screen calibration tool.
For the most truly color accurate screen at D6500K:
Red - 248
Green - 246
Blue - 255
If you prefer a slightly cooler screen and the tuning the iPhone uses which is D7400K:
Red - 237
Green - 235
Blue - 255
More info can be found about color calibration here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=57265483&postcount=620
These settings are meant to be used as a starting point. Depending on your cpu binning and desires you will probably want to tweak these slightly to fit your needs. I'll add more as new features get added, I learn more, and I think of stuff to add Hope it helps someone!
Sweet...loved this ROM on my N5
Sent from my Nexus 6 using XDA Free mobile app

I wish we could get non intrusive nav on this device already Something like PIE or how CM used to hide the nav on kitkat.
looks really neat! it'll be nice to have a ROM where i won't have to worry about GAPPS issues
great. cant wait to test this out. glad to see new work coming to the n6

You don't have to flash gapps on this one as its based off the LRX21O Factory image which includes all gapps.

I just like full screen without nav, it looks more elegant in my opinion. On another note, how often do you release new builds? I publish new kernel updates far too frequently to ask you to rebuild each time

yup! that's what I meant to say
further down the line, will you keep including gapps with the rom or will you defer to PA gapps once TKruzze gets them up and running?

Well since its based on factory Image I don't think you will ever have to.

For those who don't know, he coded this whole ROM blindly since he doesn't have a nexus 6, and took it from a non booting 100% stock rom to a fully featured port of his nexus 5 rom in one day. It was amazing progress. He was pushing a new build like every 15 minutes, mainly because it took 10 mins to upload each time or he would've pushed them faster

Maybe once a week. I will update the ROM with your new kernel each build

Yup, Most of the framework was already layed out with the Nexus 5 build just needed to port it over.
Plus its the first ever ROM to use Google's Factory Image. If any of you guys are interested in just the Factory Image as a ROM just let me know (Be warned its 750+MB in size)
finally a rom without bugs!
First bug, my recents button isn't working

Hmmm...mine is.
any special install instructions? just tried to flash and got the following message:
Wiping - Be patient it takes awhile
unmount of /system failed. no such volume
mount: failed to mount /dev/block/platform/msm_sdc.1/by-name/system at /system: Device or resource busy
Enjoy!
Script succeeded: result was [Enjoy!]
I assumed nothing was flashed because i didn't see the standard "progress bars". i restored my nandroid because i wasn't sure the flash worked. thanks in advance for your help/feedback.
