Should I buy Alpha? - Samsung Galaxy Alpha

So My galaxy tab 2 broke last month, I was thinking to buy Mi4 ( 3gb ram, 801 snapdragon) or zenfone 2 ( 4gbram , Intel x64 proccessor) but i found galaxy alpha and s5 on internet with similar price tags compared with mi4 and zenfone so I wanted to ask should i buy alpha instead of a phone with 4gb ram? or instead of a phone with 3gb ram? I really like alpha looks i can buy s5 too but I saw on youtube touchwiz lags alot not the phone but touchwiz I have a friend who have s5 too she said it does lag occasionally i know alpha runs on touchwiz too i wanted to ask does it lagg too like s5? Please give me your honest review is 2gb ram enough? because at same price i can get a 3 or 4 gig!

My brother has a s5 i have owned one myself in the past, But Alpha is nothing like s5 or other samsung phones i have the 850f Model with exynos processor and it has never lagged even with power saving enabled. I get one day plus battery time with heavy usage (3-4 hours of screen on time)

The octacore never lags. I had the quad core att 850a too. And that one lagged a lot. I love this phone.

Do you think 2gb ram is sufficient? I multi-task a lot , how many hours do is it take to full charge? what about front camera is it good? i saw the back camera samples they were really nice but what about front? is it good too! what's the antutu score?

Alpha is the best device I've ever used.
I sold it to buy the s6 edge. After 10 days of using the s6 edge, I sold it and bought the Alpha again.
It's an amaizing device.

The RAM is far enough for multitasking in my opinion.
Full charge takes like a hour and 20 minutes or so.
The front camera I must say is really good.
And the AnTuTu score, well I'm on stock 4.4.4 no root and in AnTuTu my device shows on first place in the comparison list, below are some flagship devices like Note 4, OnePlusOne, One M8 etc. The score I got was almost 52k.

How does the Ti Omap processor compare to the Exynos?

I realize that this is the Vibrant forum, but it is the general section... so dont get too pissed about me posting a thread not really vibrant related.
So just thinking about processors (that may come come in the Nexus Prime), the two being rumored are Samsungs Exynos and the TI OMAP, from what i can tell.
How do these processors compare? In general the Exynos is generally regarded as better then the snapdragon (not trying to argue either way), but there are plenty of comparisons and topics on this comparison, but how does the Exynos compare to the OMAP? I can really find too many topics on it..
Thanks
Doesn't really matter how it compares right now, because Google can optimize ICS to run fast on Ti-OMAP 4460 while slow on other processors.
The same way when Froyo came out, the Snapdragon processors were able to gain a huge boost in CPU intensive tasks because they took full advantage of the Dalvik optimizations in Froyo. Hummingbird although newer than Snapdragon was not taking full advantage of Dalvik optimizations, thus it ran slower despite being a newer processor.
Nexus Prime running a Ti-Omap 4460 will be faster than any xynos because Google will make sure ICS is perfectly tuned to Ti-OMAP 4460.
Edit:
This is assuming nexus prime has a Ti-OMAP 4460.

thanks for the response. anyone else have any ideas on the two processors?
So, i watched the presentation last night, i did not see them announce the processor...
have any of the reviews confirmed which processor and GPU?
Its the omap 4460, TI made an announcement on it.Gpu wise its weaker than the exynos in the texture department as it has the sgx540. The biggest advantage it has over the NS or vibrant is the CPU and ram (hardware wise) benching the NS vs the Droid3 or Bionic shows the NS doing fairly close with the differences being probably due to the omap having a higher gpu clock and a processor that can feed the data to the gpu faster.
I can tell you that the chip has great performance, even at that higher resolution, I believe the blackberry playbook has it and that thing runs beautifully =D
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using Tapatalk
everything i'm reading about the omap is saying it's built for better HD performance, however clocking, number crunching and GPU it's weaker then the exynos found in the sgs II. actually there comparing the gpu to the one found in our Vibrant.
as dismal as this sounds, i'm still going for the Galaxy Nexus due to the stock interface and HD resolution...
or i can wait longer (god knows how much longer) and grab the sgs II HD thats currently only in Korea.

qoutes from Extremetech website
"So now the OMAP4460 is getting quite a lot of scrutiny, even though it isn’t exactly a new chip. This dual-core SoC is clocked at 1.2GHz, and uses ARM Cortex-A9 architecture, just like the Exynos. That’s not a problem, but the older GPU, the PowerVR SGX540 is. We were hoping for a step up in the graphics department.
Why did Google choose the OMAP for its new Nexus? Well, it might not live up to the high graphical standards set out by the iPhone, but it is a solid chip in its own right. The OMAP4 platform makes use of an additional hardware accelerator called IVA 3 that makes encoding and decoding HD video a snap. The Galaxy Nexus has an HD screen, so this hardware focus on video is a big plus.
Google engineers were likely also drawn to the OMAP for its use of a dual-channel memory controller. Android’s multitasking system means that data is constantly being moved into, and out of, active memory. This is definitely a strength of TI’s OMAP parts"
hopefully that answers some of your questions.
Weak GPU, ****-tastic camera, no microSD slot, small battery, really high pricing (preliminary)...and once again plastic?
I don't get why Google felt they need to repeat the iPhone 4S announcement failure. The screen of the thing is amazing and its OS is. But the actual phone? Not so much.
:/
And I was so hyped about the "One phone to rule them all". . .

The phone is still worth getting. It will always have the latest version of Android, and Android will run smoothly on it.
I'm never repeating my Vibrant mistake ever again. Running CM-7 with half ass GPS and no 911 calling, no thanks. Next time a Nexus only phone. Just wish it wasn't made by stupid Samsung, errrrr.
Or maybe Motorola phone now that Google owns them, higher chance of getting updates. Just my opinion though.
One last thing. I do agree about the lack of microsd. I was shocked when Nexus S didn't get it, and now again. Hmmmmm. You would think they would want a dev phone to have a microsd slot.

Weak GPU? It is more than enough to drive a 720p screen at 60fps, as demonstrated consistently throughout the Galaxy Nexus hands-on videos.
How is the camera at all, as you so eloquently put it, '****-tastic'? From what I have seen (and trust me, it isn't nearly enough to make much of an impression to make a final call on its quality), the pictures look decent, with little chroma noise and balanced colours. The zero shutter-lag feature sounds most excellent as well, as most cellphone pictures turn out awful because of the nature of the beast (shaky hands and such). If your judgment is purely based on "Hurr because it's 5MP" then you are a moron.
Though I can lament the loss of a MicroSD card slot, most cards readily available to consumers (read: not newegg or amazon buyers) cannot even fathom being able to record 720p video, much less 1080p featured on the Galaxy Nexus. And using your smartphone as a primary MP3 player is only viable if you have no other use for the phone besides MP3 playing and occasional internet browsing, which would be just a flagrant waste of the ~$80 monthlies people pay for their plans.
And the 1,750mah battery is actually above-average (considering 1,450-1,500mah the standard), along with ICS' built-in 'app-freezing', carrier bloat will never be a cause for unnecessary battery drain again). The battery could last for days depending on your usage (Your mileage may ****ing vary, of course).
Really, high pricing? Really? If the previous two Nexus phones are any indication, it will cost $529 unlocked. Of course, it seems like a lot of money when you work retail or some other **** job, but then you shouldn't be playing with such expensive toys in the first place.
And plastic? Well this explains everything

Your post gave me cancer.
Camera---Look at the Nexus S photos at Engadget and the Galaxy Nexus ones. They look IDENTICAL except for colors on the GN looking a bit worse actually. Last I remember, the Nexus S camera is on the level of the Vibrant...it's great for a 5MP but its nothing compared to the competition nowdays. Not backlit sensor, not f2.2 or lower, not even high resolution. No shutter lag? I use Camera360 on my Vibrant and have had that feature for MONTHS. As Engadget comments, the no shutter lag is because the camera on the Galaxy Nexus does not focus. It is just NO competition to a Galaxy S2 or Iphone 4S sadly.
GPU-It is a 1.6 or 1.7 times faster than the Vibrant. We already have a good GPU but...for crying out loud. It is half as slow as the Galaxy S2 one. And THAT itself is already getting old...been on the market for over 6 months. Shall we compare to the new iPhone 4S? Difference of 7 TIMES? I HATE iphones but Samsung and Google seriously didn't try here.
Battery. I am CURRENTLY running a Samsung-made OEM 1800mah in my Vibrant. Same size as our original 1500mah. Should I remind you the Vibrant runs on a 4.0 screen and is NOT HD resolution? For a device that is as big as the Galaxy Nexus (4.6 inches) and with that huge and beautiful screen, 1750 is just TINY. At LEAST a good 2000 or more should have been put in it. And its' not impossible to do at all. Samsung HAS the technology. The phone HAS the space. It's fatter than the Galaxy S2 (and godforbid the new Razor)...doesn't have a MicroSD slot. There is no excuse except laziness.
Pricing---Several retailers in Europe have already priced it. Cheapest one is ~700...typical one is 800 and some go all the way up to 950. Look up the gsmarena.com article if you wish. Off contract it will be an arm and a leg. On contract it will be $300. That makes it the MOST expensive phone both on and off contract. $530? Yeah...maybe at that price it would be something to consider but 800? For an amazing screen and software? Heh.
Like I said, the real star of that presentation was the software. Ice Cream sandwich is amazing. GPU Acceleration anyone?
The phone though it comes on? A letdown sadly. Trust me, I was going to buy it. Was waiting for it for 3 months now. No more. May either get a Galaxy S2 now or wait for a Galaxy S2 HD for the Nexus HD screen and the Galaxy S2 performance and features.
In the OMAP 4460, the SGX540 is clocked at 384 MHz which gives it a total output of ~6.2 GFLOPs. In comparison, the Mali-400 MP4 clocked at 200 MHz produces about ~7.2 GFLOPs, and ~10.8 GFLOPs at 300 MHz. So yeah, it's a step back from the Exynos but still very good.
Everything yea saying don't matter its all about optimization an camera looks great to me

My Tab 10.1 only shows 768 MB as well, but it's 1 GB. The Android System uses part of the RAM to operate. The rest you get as free RAM.

[Q] Various complaints of Launcher being killed in RAM

Hey, im still debating the idea of getting an S3, ive got the SGS1 :O im still perfectly content with it. ive heard numerous amount of complaints that the TW Launcher has to reload after using the S3 for things such as gaming and intense web browsing. And considering the fact that the USA variant of the S3 has 2GB of Ram im worried whether in a few months time the International S3 will be lacking in terms of Ram, LG already announced their 2GB phone (although LG are so crappy in terms of software, i doubt it will even be as fast as the S2 -.-, no offence to any LG fans, just kidding there aren't any )
On a serious note though, im guessing most of the high end phones within the upcoming months will have 2GB Ram standard, and the fact that so many people are having Ram issues with TW is making me doubt whether i should get an S3 or wait for the next powerhouse of a phone with an A15 chip and 2GB of Ram. Is this merely just a software bug? Or is the Ram actually struggling to keep up? ive seen similar problems with the One X. Although ive heard that it has been fixed, which is a good sign. And tbh, although the Exynos Quadcore is badass, i dont think its very balanced, the S4 chip in the US variant of the One X is damn fast and im guessing its going to be the same in the S3, in most cases it even keeps up with Quad core, and 2GB of Ram and Dual core processor sounds abit more efficient than a crazy Quad-core chip and merely 1GB of RAM. i dont really think Quad core will catch on, apart from the HOX and S3 i think every other phone will move towards the S4 chip and later A15 chips. Which leads me to believe that the S3 will be horribly underpowered (in terms of RAM) compared to phones later on in the year, and baring in mind that ive still got an S1. i like my phones to still be keeping up for atleast 2 years before they show signs of slow down. it seems as though the S3 is a beast in some aspects and weak in others. No hate for it by the way incase some [email protected]$$ decides to say "GTFO STOP HATING ITS THE BEST PHONE IN THE WORLD" It will still be an absolutely amazing phone regardless...

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE vs. International Model?

Hello,
I was looking to buy the Samsung Galaxy S3 but i'm confused as to which model should I buy. The international model or the North American model.
I cannot upgrade through my carrier (Bell Mobility in Toronto, ON) and hence either one I buy, I'll have to buy from outside.
Is the processor (dual vs quad) along with the RAM the only difference in these two models? If yes, then which one should I go for? Maybe answer in terms on battery life, ROMS available, etc etc. Would the quad core be faster than the dual core with half the RAM?
I have a regular data plan and I won't be thinking about using LTE for now.
Usage wise, I'd say I'm a moderate user and don't play very heavy games, but maybe, occasionally I might play MC3, GTA III etc. Definitely be multitasking a lot and constant texting/facebooking/checking emails etc.
I'm thinking to get the International version! But if the North American version is better, I would go for that.
Thanks
If you aren't using LTE then international model wins hands down.

It's not 1ghz and 2ghz but 1gb and 2gb of ram. I'm from Canada and I chose the int one because of dev support, better GPU, future quadcore optimization, I don't care about LTE since I have 2GB of data monthly and 3G+ is enough for me. Also audio as nodstuff said, earlier release and finally 1gb is enough, I'm doing heavy multitasking and I never reached the 1GB of ram, the redraw issue can be fixed by editing a file and I'm sure it will be the same for the US version. So yeah int version is the best for me, now you have to find out which one is the best for YOU.
IMO, LTE is not all it's cracked up to be, if you don't have unlimited data then it's not really worth it. I'm not going to sacrifice faster CPU/GPU for a 2GB cap LTE.
Needless to say I got international version.

1) Faster CPU? R u blind or something - Krait uses a highly modified A15s (which i believe what everyone wanted before Samsung decided to step back and stay on A9s for a bit more) and to be honest it is indeed faster in real life especially when it comes to opening apps (i had a chance to play with 2 devices).
2) GPU is faster on international thou but doubt u would be able to use even half of its power (i still have ipod touch 1gen and it can handle all games except Infinity Blade as long as OS allows on its weak PowerVR MBXLite)
3) Both have Wolfson DAC
4) NA Galaxy S3 has double RAM. If u are a multitasking freak (or use alot of ram hungry apps) then u would see a performance difference. Its also there to feed S4.
5) Krait is more power effecient than exynos when just using HSPA+
6) You have an option to use LTE (battery life will start draining faster however but highly dependent on your network)
With that said Exynos is indeed more optimized (no surprise) so the experience may be slower but ALWAYS fluid. However, nothing that the xda devs cant fix!!

Optimised A-9's built on 32nm Fab. Process with HKMG.
Krait is not more energy efficient, research high k metal gate which is used in the exynos 4412.
As for wolfson DAC, what us your source for that information? Supercurio said that it didn't after he came back from a trip to wolfsons facility in Edinburgh where he went after being invited to share some ideas.

Reviewers have already indicated that the NA SIII is indeed faster in regards to cpu and slightly better in battery life. It was also proven that the INT SIII has a significantly better gpu. Nonetheless, both versions are fantastic and have their tradeoffs.
I prefer the international phone. Fast and clean phone, unlimited for $10 with high speed enough for me. Love the battery, last for a long hard day.
Decision Made!!
Thanks for the responses guys!!
I finally got my hands on the International model and been playing with it heavily since today afternoon. They battery was at 54% when I first booted the device. Its been several hours of non-stop usage and the battery life seems to be good. Of course its too early to make any conclusion.
Overall, I'm loving it. Its so smooth!!
So glad I decided to sell my note to get this one. No doubt the note was/still is an excellent device. But I love S3 more!!! <3

The North American S3 does NOT have a Wolfson DAC:
Qualcomm's S4 chipset uses Qualcomm's proprietary audio hub, the WCD9310. This chipset is found in the US versions of the One X, One S, and even Samsung's Galaxy S III (only the international Galaxy S III will have a Wolfson DAC, sorry guys).

Honestly if you are not going to us LTE then there should be no discussion about it. The international version is an amazing phone and I got it because I also don't care for LTE. If I did then I would look into the pros and cons for both versions. Since your not using LTE then looking at pros and cons is just invalid because overall international version is more optimized and even the largest multitasking user will reach MAX of 850MB... honestly. Hope it helped.

Anyone worried about the 6p only having 3gb of ram?

Personally I'm a bit worried about the phone only having 3GB of RAM. I am a power user and play games pretty often too. I constantly switch from Chrome, Line messenger, whatsapp, facebook, skype, clash of clans, and a few other games. I switch from literally all these apps pretty much every time I pickup my phone to use.
I had the S6 Edge before and the downtime all adds up because of the crappy memory management. Even my Xiao mi 3 with 2gb RAM handles multitasking literally twice as good, but its not good enough for what I do on my phone.
Does anyone out there have a similar habit to me with 3GB/4GB of RAM device that can comment? Would love to hear from the experts here that has similar usage as me!
Is 3GB enough? How much do you have spare after loading all your daily apps?
I don't worry.as Nexus 5X has only 2g ram.
Dont worry about the 3GB RAM it will be sufficient for your needs. And dont based it on SGS6 because RAM management on that phone is veerry aggressive and I actually sold my S6 for MXPE 2015 because of that issue.

I'm not necessarily worried per se but I would have liked for it to have 4GB of RAM only for future proofing.
I'm buying this phone for my dad. Unlike me, he doesn't like to change his phone for at least 2- 3 years, he's been using his Lumia for 3-4 I believe and for someone like that, I think it is worth it to get something that can last a while.
Not worried at all. I'm hesitant to get my wife the 5x because of only having 2gb though.
Too many screen redraws on my xperia devices but far less on a nexus device with 2gb ram. Less bloatware on Nexus devices meaning more free ram.
Lol you guys realize 3gb of ram is a ton...its a freaking phone! Can you remember not so long ago computers had on average 1 to 2gb ram. Now we expect our cellphones to have 4gb... Pretty crazy!

Nope 3gb is more then enough
It's plenty.
Nexus is Pure Android, So no worries at all
The oneplus two I had almost never went more than 2.4gb in usage.
3gb lpddr4 should be plenty.

that was well over ten years a go and technology moves fast
more typos!
More to the point in, 5 years:
N1 512MB LPDDR;
NS 512MB LPDDR;
GN 1GB LPDDR2;
N4 2GB LPDDR2;
N5 2GB LPDDR3;
N6 3GB LPDDR3;
N5X 2GB LPDDR3;
N6P 3GB LPDDR4.
500% increase in RAM and each new LPDDR generation doubles fetch size and transfer speed.
At first I was slightly concerned about the 6p only having 3GB. But after finding out it utilizes LPDDR4 RAM, I'm not too concerned anymore. The extra bandwidth of LPDDR4 will do wonders for the 2560 x 1440 display.
LPDDR4 Specifications: http://www.androidauthority.com/lpddr4-everything-need-know-599759/
I worry all the time.... Just 3gig.... I need like 128gig of ram.... F Google....
Can you recognize my sarcasm over here.... It's a nexus even my nexus5 can multitask better than any phone out there
people, I can play crysis 3 with 4gb on my pc at extreme.
3gb DDR4 is more than enough for a smartphone. look at the iphone (1gb)
i understand where you guys are coming from. I'm worried about 3GB because my xiao mi3 with 2GB has over 1GB available with no apps open. When I start using it, I have apps reloading left right and center because I have everything on the go inc 3 games. But the Xiao Mi3 defo handles it better than the S6 Edge.
LDDR4 doesn't mean it will keep apps open better than DDR3 right? Its just faster.

Yeah ddr4 is only faster.
yeh thought so. Also the quad HD display is just gonna hog more memory too.

More RAM will be used up as video RAM for the QHD, yeah. To be honest, as bad as the Samsung phones are for memory, they're not unusable and work ok. When you think of all the crap the 6P won't have running in the background compared to the Sammys, I really think it'll work well.

Xiaomi Note 3 Pro (Snapdragon) vs Note 4 (Snapdragon) Note 4x

Hello everyone,
I know this is the Q&A for N3P but I still wanna ask because I cant find that much comparasion between these three on english/german.
So, my questions are:
1. Speed? Not gaming, just Facebook, WhatsApp, YouTube and such apps.
2. Camera? Normal and low light. I know the N3P has 16 megapixel but I am asking anyways. I just heard that both cameras are ultra bad in low light.
3. Battery? Is there a noticable difference?
Thanks!
rn3 pro's battery is grt but camera quality in both daylight and lowlight is pretty bad.
Go for one plus x if u can afford.
Or any Huawei phone's for better performance in every aspects.
Thanks for your answer. But, the battery life isnt as good as it is on Note3 and Note4 afaik.
Or, is it really true that you get about 8hours screen on? I want to switch to Xiaomi just because of that.
I dont make THAT much photos with my phone. I have lg g2 at the moment and I dont think that Note3/4 Camera is that much worse than lg g2.

If you're a gamer then Note 3
Actually Note 4 SD performance isn't that much poor compared to Note 3. You won't even notice a difference with normal usage. You can also expect better battery, over 10 hrs. SOT on Note 4 compared to 7 to 9 hrs. of Note 3(my own usage, others are claiming to get over 12 hrs. some even 14 though I don't know how they're doing it). I can end the day without looking for a charger with 7 to 9 hrs. of SOT so for me above that isn't really necessary. Note 4 also has better thermal performance(doesn't heat up that much, Note 3 may reach up to 45 degrees C when charging. I got it to 42 when playing although it's summer right now in my country).
If you're into Custom ROMs, etc. though then definitely Note 3. Actually only bought this over 4x because of the modding community plus the 700 mhz lte band on the Kate model.
Thanks for your answer. But that means that both phones are equally fast? I don't care that much about custom roms. I have since 5 years just aosp/cm Roms and I wanna test something different.
for me is just the performance important. Is there a difference that should be mentioned? not gaming, just overall speed.
1)Redmi note 3 pro special edition support 800 mhz 4G band which is usable on areas like villages away from big city's (there is a note 4 global edition with Snapdragon 625 which support 800 mhz band also)
2)note 3 pro vs 4 battery life its kinda same to improve battery also you can use xposed + power nap+amblify+greenify (maybe note 4 will get 30 min more battery cuz of a53 cores )
3)always aim to buy Snapdragon edition much better from mediatek Snapdragon gives sources and blabla
4)maybe Redmi note 3 got a little bit better performance on games cuz of x2 cores a73
5) colour or note 4 its a little better and design a little more wonderful for me on other hand with note 3 you can use radon kernel (for me its the best) and you can fix the colours same as note 4
6) cameras on daylight fotos are very good i could say best for the price of course because we talk for phones price range max 170$ huawei prices are 300+ so ofc they got better cameras
7)its the best option for value for money phones and about battery I get about 7 to 8 hours on my note 3 miui 8 7.4.27 with radon kernel using only cellular data because I'm on army and I use Facebook, messenger, viber, Instagram, whats app, some other apps (i got installed around to 90 apps) 0 lags the only you need its a good case and tempered glass cuz the durability on phones sucks but hey its 170$ max if you interested to go on higher price like 250$ I would told you to buy lettv 3 pro 821 Snapdragon 800 mhz and tons of much better performance ram etc
I hope I helped you a lot
N3P slight better performance over N4. Because SD650: 2x powerful A72 cores. (and yea sure 4x A53) Doesn't really matters in Day-to-day performance.
N4 better battery life over N3P. (Because 625 8x A53 built on 14 nm over 28 nm process in SD650)

Big thanks for so many informations!
And, if you were me, would you choose note 4/note 4x or note 3 pro?
As I have said, I dont play games on my phone. I just want a phone that can open and load apps like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, WhatsApp quickly and have a big screen-on time.
Is there a big difference in speed between those two? As I have said, not gaming speed but everything else.
Thanks
@chorba69 I would go for note 4 cuz of that awesome corners and edges its amazing but the version Snapdragon 625 and with 800 mhz band supported plus I'm not a power user to play games all the time its waste of time for me xd but both devices are perfect ahh I forget maybe note 4 got a little bit better cameras quality cuz of Snapdragon 625 cuz it support 24 mp instead of Snapdragon 650 on 21 mp its not that much comparable since both record 4k video on 30 fps and there is not a speed difference between those devices dont be attracted by antutu scores etc I use radon kernel with battery option and I never get a single lag also Snapdragon 625 its 14nm and 650 its 28nm so it will be a little bit cooler than note 3

Go for the Note 4 SD/Note 4X.
Note 3 vs Note 4 opening app speed difference is negligible, less than a second faster in favor of Note 3. While battery life and heat management improvement is noticeable on the Note 4, about 20% increase in battery life. Color reproduction of the screen too is better in the Note 4.

Thanks! Just, there is no difference in speed and battery between Note 4 SD and Note 4x or?
If there is, which one has better battery/is faster?
And one thing more: Does 4x come with LTE Band 20 or there is special version with lte 20 ? I live in Germany and that thing is important for lte frequency here.

Note 4 SD and Note 4X(3/32) are the same aside from LTE bands. Seeing that you're not in India, then definitely go with 4X but it doesn't have band 20 unfortunately. If you really need Band 20 then go for Note 3 Special/International Edition(Kate).
Here: http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=7863&idPhone2=8580
Based on your usage I'd advice you go for Note 4X but if band 20 is really important then pick Redmi Note 3 Pro Special Edition. As I said earlier, I also chose Kate over 4X because of band 28.
Note 4x has the same camera sensor as LG G6. Dk how xiaomi manages to mess up with photos quality.
There's no big improvement in camera regarding those two. Note 4x has a better battery backup due to 14nm chipset. Note 3 has better community support. Note 3 is better in gaming. Note 4 looks better ( especially on that full black model ).
If i were to choose i'd go with the RN3P, as it has, if not the same, but close to a nexus phone community support, gonna be a long living device.
I googled now again and I found there is some Note 4 with the same specs as Note 4x and it has lte band 20.
should I get it over Note 3 pro?
Or it is not possible that there is a Note 4 with everything same as Note 4 just with Band 20?
http://www.gearbest.com/cell-phones/pp_620903.html
Hi people, above the link. I ordered this one. It should be the Note 4 or the Note 4x (I dont understand it yet) with LTE Band 20 or?
I just dont understand where is the difference between International version and Global version.
I guess theres nothing "big" between those two.
I have RN3Pro and was on latest Developer version (stock kernel), rooted and Xposed install, but no battery improvement apps/modules installed, just other type of tweaks. I just bought it and didn't tested on Stable version yet without root and Xposed. Maybe its better, don't know.
On first SS you can see how much Screen was ON per session. I plugged it on PC for some work, but it was not much... that's on second SS.
Thanks for Infos @apriores
everything above 5 hours screen on is new for me. I have lg g2 and I chose the xiaomi redmi because of the battery life.
just, I heard that even more than 8-9 hours of screen on are possible. have you ever made it above 8hours sot?
I had max sot of 10h on my rn3 pro
I suggest you to get rn3 pro because of better performance and development.
1) I think 4X has better design, I have used both and 4X gives better hold experience. Also it looks more expensive than 3P
2) If you don't aim to play game too much, buy 4X, 625 give better speed, just weaker GPU, moreover it is based on 14nm so better power management.
3) Camera, I will choose 3P, Snapdragon 650 support Zero Shutter Lag and some stuff better than 625, how ever in real condition, I still have some feeling that 3P take better pictures than 4X.
4) Audio, choose 3P, Snapdragon 650 has some better specs for Audio than 625, the default may very bad, but believe me, install DivineBeats and it just no difference like V20 or some stuff that has DACs.
5) Screen, 4X has better screen, 3P a little yellow in my opinion.
6) Connectivity: 4X, newer X9 LTE chip gives better connection than X8.
That's all, consider on your own.
Thanks. I ordered already a Note 4x with LTE Band 20 for Germany. I hope made a good decision. Thanks y'all in this thread.
