Google Contacts, Dialer for Lollipop - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I hope someone can help me install Google Contact app, the Lollipop one.
I have LG G3 Beat running lollipop 5.0.2, rooted with stock ROM.
I have its APK i was able to download somewhere (it's Google Contacts version 1.1 API 22 for Lollipop 5.1+, but it was recompiled by the uploader to make it work for Lollipop 5.0.x API 21 devices).
I was able to install it on my phone without any errors, so now I see LG's contact app and the Google Contacts app. but when I open the Google Contacts icon, it still opens the LG Contact app.... is there any other apk i need to install? like the content provider or whatever?
I want to make this work without any sync problems.
and where can I find the Google Dialer apk for lollipop too? and how to install it?
thanks!!!

select the version which suits you from here based on api level and screen resuloution, if that work the try low api level it should work, thank me if you found helpful

[Q]Can't use Google TTS rather than Pico

Hi,
I upgraded my ROM version (Stock) and lost my Google TTS service,
I only have the Pico one..
I do have Google Now and its working with the good smooth fluently unrobotic voice, but I can't make it to work with other apps..
I tried many kinds of apps but they all choose to use the Pico service (I don't have any more option in settings)
I guess I lost the .apk file on the system/apps for that..
Could anyone please upload that for me?
I don't know how its called, just upload everything looks familiar or has the word Google voice/TTS/text to speak/ speach/ idk..
Or perhaps you are familiar with that problem and know exactly what the solution for that is,
That would be great,
I'm running Android 4.2.2 on Sony Xperia Z (rooted with Stock de-odexed ROM)
Thanks ahead!!
Yarden.

[SOLVED][Q] Update WebView on AOSP-ROMs

Hi,
I've heard that the WebView updates through Play Store wouldn't take any effects on AOSP ROMs because they can not guarantee that it works: https://plus.google.com/100348830529087975954/posts/1Mot5nodrkj (first comment by Richard Cole). I've tested it and I can say that the "Browser" in PA Alpha (5.0.2) still shows up Chrome 37 on http://www.whatbrowser.org/ instead of 42 (opted in to beta chanel) and disabling the build in WebView also has no effect as mentioned in the comments.
Is there a way to update it nevertheless? Would it work to copy the base.apk from /data/app/com.google.android.webview-2 to /system/app/webview? Or is there a way to make the Play Store believe that it is on an official Android and let it update WebView (or however it would work), maybe through a build.prop-"hack"?
Just found the XPosed Module WebViewGoogle (working on XPosed for 5.1.1) which makes exactly that and because betas are coming over the same channel when you are beta tester, it also works with them.
If for some reason the Xposed module doesn't work, e.g. not tested on Android 5.1.1, the alternative is to decompile framework-res.apk and edit strings.xml to point the ROM to the Google version of Webview. See here for more.
Finally found android web view fix here

[MOD][Xposed][5.0] Exchange bypass for Lollipop (Samsung/TouchWizard)

This is a mod version of Xposed module which is based on the previous one for KK and previous one for non-TouchWizard Lollipop:
It should work for TouchWizard version of Samsung Lollipop devices. But, I've only tested on my Galaxy S4 (I9500) with a custom ROM based on Galaxy Note 4.
Tips:
1. First of all, please make sure your Xposed framework is working on your Samsung Lollipop device, with TouchWizard.
2. Remove existing Exchange account before installing and activating this Xposed module. Then after a reboot to activate the module, you can try to re-create your exchange account. If you have enough lucky, you will NOT be prompt for setting "PIN" code. Of course, please choose "accept" when prompt for "device manager".
Works based on source code from following people. Creadit also goes to them:

Thanks!
Using S5 The Galaxy Project ROM 7.0, it's TW based rom on android 5.0. Using xposed framework 75 TW by arter97, can confirm that it disabled security measures, BUT now outlook 365 profile doesn't connect to exchange Appears as connection offline all time. So no luck here
Exchained
I just published a new app for this: Exchained ! Works with native mail clients including gmail (no Outlook yet though), latest versions of Android too, without even needing root.
Search for "biko exchained" in the Play Store.
