Random reboots - E 2015 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am not particularly sure whether it is connected to the unlock or not, but I am experiencing random reboots which do not seem to follow any pattern. Whether the phone is charging, in use or just laying on my desk, it sometimes just reboots. Any advice besides flashing a rom (which may not even help)?

The bootloader unlock shouldn't have anything to do with it. Which software version are you on? Which model do you have (XT15xx)?

I have these random reboots too! Without unlocking the bootloader. I've read it should be a known bug in the stock rom.

I hope the upcoming 5.1 update will fix this. If not I hope this bug is not present in cm12.1

So I just flashed cm12.1 and it is still rebooting randomly. I also reflashed the stock firmware from here, but there are still random reboots.

Play store movies not available

Hi all,
I'm trying to rent or buy movies in play store. I click the price and in the pop-up window it says: The article you bought is not available where your are (it is originally in German). I cannot go on to pay.
I have a S2g with latest German firmware (rootet). Problem is that it works perfectly fine for my wife, who has exactly the same phone+firmware and is in the same network.
Any idea why I cannot access the movies?
Thanks in advance.

The one you provided is the baseband version not CSC code. CSC code is not presented by the way you posted,, :silly:
It is only 3 capital letters. Most likely your wife phone has different CSC code
That's what I get when doing *#1234# and it says CSC in the last line.
I tried *#272*imei# but it says no connection or wrong mmi code?
I do not seem to get the 3 letter CSC code. Any suggestions, how to find out? Or is it the DBT after 9100G in the last line of the screenshot? Cause that is supposed to be for Germany right? If that is the CSC then it is the same for both phones.

No, DBT after 9100G is not necessary your actual running CSC code (i.e, you could have German ROM but with UK CSC code..!!). OK try to go to Google play and grip any csc code changer and see (don't change csc code, just know what is running since changing will wipe everything)
com.android.Preconfig not found on your device. Manual mode shows again connection error or missing mmi.
Based on CSC tool from Manniakk.

Have you installed any custom ROM?
and if so, which ROM you were on just before flashing the custom ROM?
and is it the same for the other phone?
Both phones run on latest German stock Rom. No custom rom ever. My phone is rooted. My wife's phone not. That is the only difference I can think of.
FYI, I also tried to get the CSC for my wife's phone with *#272*ime*#. did also not work.

CSC code is a part of cache.img which I do think it was not flashed on your phone.. In my country if I go to google play, there is no part for video buying or renting, neither the books!! changing csc code helped me to get them on google play. You can download the whole stock rom and flash it again, so you can have access to csc codes; but we will leave this as our last choice.
Try this NOW:
Download any VPN program from google play (e.g, Hotspot Shield) and clear google play cache and data, then open Hotspot Shield and connect it, then once connected, open google play.
Technically I do believe this might help as well, since changing VPN = changing CSC code for internet connection only.
Try and give me the feedback.
Thanks a lot for your help! I appreciate it!
Tried what you suggested. No success unfortunately. I fear that this leaves me with either no movies or reflash.

Wowowwowow, I got it. It was the most stupid thing ever. I tried to get a movie again via the Browser on a PC. It said that my payment method is not valid although the proper Credit card information was available. For whatever reason, the payment with that credit card was grey and could not be selected. Via the browser, however, it is possible to add another payment method. I added the same credit card and ... tadadadada, it works. also on the phone.
Thanks for all your help, and I hope that this thread might help one or the other with a similar problem.
Cheers

No weekly update

I have installed miui 5.9.18 weekly, but it always says no update when I check for update, I believe it is now on 5.9.24, do I have to do something to get the auto update working.?
I guess it is because it is unofficial... Get it there and install it manually if you like. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3197856

Tot anti-rollback

So I had to send my VS990 in for repair as the charging port broke. No big deal. I was rooted on lollipop and did a reset using lgup before I sent it out. They fixed the phone, and I noticed that they put marshmallow on it. I went to lgup to put lollipop back on, and I get *Tot anti-rollback version is smaller than version on device*. Does this mean I'm screwed or is there a way to get lollipop back on? There really isn't alot to find about this online so any help is greatly appreciated.
Try using the kdz file first (if there is one for you) to go back to LP and after that you can flash the rooted tot file again.

Let us know what you come up with... As far as I know there is no way to go back. GL. @jaedenhudson14

I tried the stock kdz and I got the error. I don't dare try the rooted one in fear of bricking my phone
Oh ok. But you weren't actually flashing because of the error and you have a working device?
There might be differences in variants.
I had no problems going back to LP and updating to MM twice now.

There is a metod to flash a file like this? How can I downgrade an T-Mobile V10 variant?
Thanks.
Pretty sure the t-mobile variant can't be downgraded due to the fact that there is no official lollipop kdz.
I think people may have tried another variant's kdz and bricked but I can't remember for sure.
Be careful!

What happened was I got my phone back from LG with MM on it. I tried to flash the stock out of the box LP kdz for the vs990, and it gave me the error.
I think LG has flashed you a version that prevents you from downgrading.
If you do a little Google search there are some threads on other LG devices with this issue.
Not 100% sure though

Thanks for your answer... So, we are stuck on that? Nothing really? Neiter some box software?

You are prpbably right. Was hoping someone made a work around for it, but it looks like this is a fairly new security measure from what I am reading.

Besides JTAG or finding a new exploit I think you are SOL for now.
from my experience with the LG G Pro (on this manner, there is no difference among LG Phones, only things changed are the DLLs and TOTs files), you can change your LG Phone to any software version, as long as you have its TOT file. Check this list if your device gets a TOT: http://lgviet.com/forum/threads/tò‰...g-v10-s-l-k-h901-960-961-962-968-vs990.53908/

This is fine and dandy but where do get a kdz file and what do you do with it?

root for LG V10 960A (32gB) with Marshmallows update?

I saw there ist a method with a .TOT file for getting root on a LG V10 960A
but while checking all prereqesites, I updated to Marshmallow via LGBridge.
So it seems to be, that root ist only possible for Lollipop?
I did not find a description how to root with updated Marshmallows
LG Marshmallows Update does not unlock the bootloader.
Can someone explain how to root an updated LG V10?
There is currently no way to root the v10 on MM.
Only for LP there is a rooted tot file to flash with LG UP.

I have another question. Is there any chance to upload Andorid 6 on the system with root? I was thinking of flashing a pure 5.1 only if something can / do not damage?
You mean updating to MM while on a rooted 5.1?
Or going back to 5.1 after upgrading to MM?
For the first you would have to unroot befor updating.
And for the second, yes it's possible to downgrade after updating to MM.
I hope i got you right...
Gesendet von meinem LG-H960 mit Tapatalk
No. I have rooted 5.1 and i want to go back to clean 5.1 (without root)(maybe you know another way to unroot H960A?). Is it safe for my phone? After return to 5.1 can i update safe to MM?
Yes I think you should be able to flash the stock kdz file again (with upgrade option should do, so you don't lose your data) and after that you can easily update with LG UP or even LG bridge.
But actually I remember i was on rooted 5.1 and just flashed the v20a MM with LG UP using upgrade and had no issues at all. Data and settings all still present.
Just make sure you flash the right kdz for your phone variant.

German A510f VD2 - we got the MM update aboout 2 months ago ... strange. I experience a really unpleasant over-night battery drain, so maybe they're just trying to improve it?
But it's branded with Vodafone. Must install with Odin and lose warranty.
I got an unbranded A510f.
Will wait for a while

Have they actually officially fixed the android 6 leak issue for SAMSUNG firmwares specifically? That might be why the big delays.
Still nothing for A3 unbranded in UK (BTU).
