[Q] Editing Firmware OS - Other Operating Systems and Languages

I want to know is there any way to extract the firmware of a feature phone running on propitiatory OS and edit the firmware so that I can change the features of it's apps?
I want to know whether it can be done using a flashing box or can it be done with a box too?

[Q] OS Android

Hello,
I read. something on the net like this "Many who read this blog know what it is ODIN. For those who are unaware, ODIN is a tool with which we can install any operating system Android. Or more commonly known in the Android community, allows us to flash our device Android." From a website that I can't post here due to the rules.
My question is
1. doesn't Android it self an OS? (like symbian)
2. but if what stated above is true then what are those "any operating system Android"?
3. does it mean the like of froyo gingerbread honeycomb etc?
4. If it is, then doesn't it will be depends on smartphone compatibility? (like say P1000 SGT is only upgradable to gingerbread)
Sorry for asking so much, I searched but it makes it jumbled.

Yes android is an operating system, no they don't mean "any operating system" they mean any firmware rom and yes you need to install a rom designed for your device.
A firmware rom is a version of android that has been changed to work better on a particular device, for example to remove some system apps or add new features, so it will only run on the device it was made for for example a samsung galaxy s rom will not work on an optimus 3D.
Odin is software that writes the new rom over the original, replacing the old one with a new version.

Ah I see that make things clear. so how do i get that rom? and when i replace with new rom, can I revert it to the original (I suppose it is possible with titanium back up or is it not?)
Ah also, so if I want to install a particular firmware rom then i will need to flash it correct? say since in this case is P1000, how do I get that rom? is there many kind of firmware rom for p1000, what are they? I google it but mostly come up with gingerbread 2.3

Once you put a new rom on your phone anything you had on it before is replaced. To revert back you have to put a copy of your old rom on your phone which then would give you back what you had before.
You have to do this via a pc, titanium backup is for backing upp apps not the operating system itself and so it cannot backup a rom.
You need to visit the xda forum for your phone as there will be detailed guides and information there that are just for your phone. You will also find roms that will work on your phone there.
Don't flash a rom if your unsure or are happy with your phone as it is because unless you get the process right you can damage your phone.

No Market in galaxy S2

hi guys i need help for my galaxy s2
i want to change the rom of my phone and i have read all the info but i can't find the proper rom file for my phone. i want to change the rom because i come to china and bought s2 and find out they don't have google play in their phones ....FTW....how can we use this awesome phone without market?
in china baidu is prefered on google. so they don't give google play in their country's firmware rom.....so to get rid of this probem i have installed cyanogen 10 and gaps and now have google play icon but it won't connect to the market because in the baseband version google is not allowed....so what i am asking is "can i change the baseband version of my phone?" like the full format hardDrive in computers and then again install the operating system like DOC....????
my phone's baseband version is I9100ZCLPK....and i don't find any pda of this version so i can't change my rom...or can i?....
if this is possible then please let me know....i am fed up of this useless firmware....please answer this...and thanks in advance.
I think u have a wrong view to baseband.
I try to give an abstract view on it:
Important is which phone u have i9100/i9100g/etc...
This is the same like a PC or a MAC.
The baseband is the system u use on the device.
So like u install windows on PC or iOS yo MAC.
So if u flash now a ROM or another firmware, u change or baseband automatically (like upgrading from XP to Win7)
BUT the system for the phones are also optimised for the location u r and the provider in the region.
I would recommend to read a bit here on XDA, how to flash a ROM or at least which firmwares u can use and flash with Odin.
And please, this was a really easy and abstract comparison, which not fit 100%.
But I hope I could open ur eyes a bit to get more into phone and phone systems

I have GT-I9100
i can't find how to flash a rom...i have flashed cyanogen mod 10 and gaps...so now should i have to downgrade or something like that? or just download the rom of my interest and flash it? i downloaded the gingerbread 2.3.5 with asian region...tried to install with odin like the some threads mentioned but in the end the odin box turned red and i don't get any success...after that i tried with the recovery method but installation aborted error appear......am i using the wrong rom or should i have to downgrade it first? but as far as i know there is no downgrade of cyanogen 10 jelly bean upgrade!!!!!! please tell me what to do? or just provide me the best available official rom with market available because the kernel, downgrading or these type of things confusing me a lot and the mehtods i am trying are not working...HElp
If you want a substitute (but way better cuz everything is free) go in the browser and search aptoide. Go on the website and install the app and search whatever you want

[Q] what makes android os said that os upgraded?

whats the difference between the old and new android os version in any rom? how can i upgrade it?
example: i have an android phone with version 4.2.2 and i want my phone to use android 4.4 upgrade, but the OEM not provide the updates, so i would update it myself, but i dunno how to make it happen, so i need your help to tell me what must i know before i make it happen
thanks before for your help
[Q] How can CWM be built in a kernel?
Well, the difference between and old version and a recent one is that the newer version has more features and maybe some bug corrections. Just like Windows 7 and 8, or iOS 6 and 7...
It's pretty hard to update your phone by yourself. You would need to learn about bootloader, firmware, rom, recovery...
And then, you should have a custom recovery. You should port Android 4.4 for your phone, and flash it through the recovery.
And maybe you would need to unlock the bootloader.
PS: What phone you have?
Sorry for my bad english.
