I'm sorry to interrupt but I think It's the mobile country is what he referring to...
I flash a UAE Saudi Firmware just to remove the Telco Boot animation (Globe), because It sucks.... lol

I also Received 187MB update in Pakistan.. It is not Lollipop update. It is Lollipop Preparation update packing kitkat 4.4.4. So, I think we will soon receive Lollipop 5.1.1.

Received a 98.51MB update but can't install. Phone is rooted and TWRP recovery installed. After the update downloads and the phone reboots an error "recovery is not seandroid enforcing" appears on the screen and the phone boots into recovery. Is there a way to install this update ?

when i click on update, my grand prime SM G 530H is telling that you edited your operating system by an unauthorized way, then what i do,

You mean SM-G531H NOT SM-G530H
I Checked out sammobile

reinstall stock ROM... i don't think is any solution. if you do a hardreset, the root will be there, and recovery too
(or try to unistall root, you have option in supersu settings, search stock recovery, and install via recovery... if no, do what i say up)

Would like to go the stock rom route but would like Kies backup before doing this. Kies has refused to connect to my phone currently on 4.4.4. Have tried two laptops. The phone is rooted with TWRP recovery. Have downloaded the Russian firmware to upgrade to 5.0.0 but flashing with odin keeps failing at modem. Why can't I flash this firmware ?

Update available for SM-G530H dual sim (INDIAN INS version) after flashing stock rom from sammobile. Update size is 306.91 MB. Anyone tell me what's it !!!

Software update

I have just received a notification to update software. I downloaded the update & phone booted into recovery but failed to install update.
Could that be because I have rooted the device ? what is the solution for this ?
Because of the root you can't update normally. I'm not sure if you can take the update what your phone downloaded and flash it yourself.

An option is to choose a custom ROM and follow its updates as they will most likely include important updates in their future versions.
You can only update with kies as your rooted, root will removed after update so you will have to re install.

The only thing stopping you installing these updates is the custom recovery, not root itself. You could use mobile ODIN to flash a stock recovery from a stock rom, and then you can get official updates.
Or like many on here, just wait for word on a new update, download it from Sam Mobile and use ODIN (or mobile ODIN) to flash

I was rooted with Chainfire. All I wanted was OTA updates.
Very simply update your phone with the latest chainfire root - 6.4 i believe (just install over the existing chainfire if this is how you're rooted). Install the OTA's. Reflash again with 6.4 and you'll have your up to date OTA's and rooted. All took 10 minutes

is there a way I can download the updates only on the PC & flash them with oden ? on sammobile, they have the updates integrated in a ROM.

[Q] UPDATE

Hallo.... Guys, new android updates are coming. After root its not possible to get OTA update. What is the plan ? i mean, this thread its going to be about the ways how to update our beloved ZOOM to the newest firmware.
QUESTIONS ARE:
It is someone going to work on root for 4.3 - 4.4 ?
It is better to "stay" on stock firmware ?
How its possible (where to download) to flash the stock ? (unrooted)

FLASHING WITH ODIN
Odin 3 v3.07 :- http://d-h.st/er8
Install USB Drivers of your Device and remember an odin flashable file is supposed to be in .tar or .tar.md5 format only.
Lets Begin :-
1. Extract the Odin file from the zip.
2. Open Odin3 (Run As Administrator).
3. Put your device in download mode. To do so, press Vol-Down And Home And Power Button all together and when it vibrates release Power
Button. You should have a triangle with an android janitor while it's saying downloading...
4. You should see a blue rectangle with COM:xx and saying Added. It means that your device is ready to be flashed!
5. Go into the PDA section and select your .tar file.
6. Dont check any option (F.reset time and Auto reboot are checked by default) Let them stay like that.
7. Now click Start.
8. When it's finished, it should say that it's done with a green box and your device should reboot by itself
thanks to @Jaspreet_Singh

Thanks Manoj and Koushik but either of your versions seem rather contradictory.
So, I'm rooted with I8552XXAMJ7 and want to upgrade to the latest firmware, which is I8552XXAML3. So, if I use triangle away and set binaries to 0, will I be able to get OTA updates (and keep root with the help of SuperSU OTA survival)? Or if I just flash I8552XXAML3 with Odin, will my device still be rooted?
Which method do you think has a better chance of keeping root? Have you tried any of these methods yourselves?

How to downgrade to 4.2.2

Hello,

Thanks!

Nothing. You already installed the newest Knox Bootloader included with the Firmware and it can not be downgraded. If you do downgrade the Bootloader you will brick your phone. You can flash "ROMS" ( not Firmwares ) all you like from previous builds meaning you can flash a Custom 4.2.2 Rom but you can not downgrade the newest Knox Bootloader you installed.

Really?
I have now the TPH beta installed, but is only a beta, and i really want to return in 4.2.2 firmware, that's absolutely a s*it.
So can't donwgrade with or without root, cannot downgrade bootloader, nothing to return to stock 4.2.2?
All the lag from 4.2 just isn't worth going back. I had to go back to my iPhone 5S until the 4.4.2 came out. Now I'm on 4.4.2 and back on my android and loving it. Never want to go back to the iPhone again.

A work around for the cheap screen issue booting on stock 4.3 and 4.4 is to flash phils recovery and root followed by a zip install of a custom 4.4 rom. Boots right up . Also with custom recovery I have backed up stock 4.2 firmware on a diff. mega and used that to restore on my 4.4 mega. Not a true downgrade but bootable into stock rom. Took me a long while to figure this out. Hope this helps.

Do you mean boot ? If so ; I removed battery to power off, then put it back , then hold volume down and home button and power at the same time to get into download mode. Hi
I would say there is no error in stock recovery.
You just can't flash any custom recovery (which one did you try?)with stock recovery except certain stock kernels with custom recovery like philz.
(And before flashing i would update to latest official 4.1.2)

Well, it has been a long time when i flashed philz.
As far as i remember it is important to choose the right one according to your device.
And i think it is also adviced to be on 4.1.2.
All this can be checked in the philz thread.
And did you in stock recovery "apply update from external sd card?

How should I update to 4.1.2?

Hi
Maybe you could try to update from the device itself via OTA using a samsung account.
(I updated a large number of s2 this way - of course some time ago). It worked in several steps from one version to next until 4.1.2. - it is easy this way just need a good wifi and patience.
If this doesn't work you could update using odin.
As you mentioned kies doesn't work - do you have drivers installed on pc for your device? Anyway if odin recognises your phone so you will be fine.
