I know but as you said before I don't think there is any method right now that can root lollipop a5 without tripping knox

To tell the truth, since 2000, none of my phones not broke. For each of them, since I discovered xda in 2008, I had modified software,so I do not look on the phone warranty.
Take your time, and wait for stable proven solutions.
For now this is warm, new, but unpopular (for the moment) phone.

Hello I just wanted everyone to know that I found a root program for our SM-G900T on Android 4.4.2 it says its for Verizon Wireless version but I have been using this for a few months now without any problems. The program is called Towelroot and can be found at https://towelroot.com/

I am sure you are right as my friend who is on the Verizon Wireless, and he updated his phone and he lost his root, I will upload a screen shot of my version.
but if you really want to root without tripping knox you can downgrade your firmware to any rom prior to the June update then root with towel root and now you can upgrade with mobile odin to any later roms while keeping root during the mobile odin flash.
however you can't have any custom recovery without tripping knox.

^^ What he said.
The bootloader is not locked. You can downgrade to any stock firmware and flash whatever stock firmware you want. Anything that NOT stock will trip your knox counter warranty status.
I rooted and flat-out deleted all knox apps in the system folder. I have no idea if that tripped my knox counter, I am figuring my knox counter was tripped because I went ahead and flashed TWRP recovery. Removing the Knox apps in /system/app and /system/priv-app are no big deal.

so flash a firmware <june 2014 with odin, root with towel root, then flash newest with odin?
which firmwares are <june 2014?
When you start the mobile odin it specifically says using mobile odin on this divice will trip the knox counter there is no recovery from this. lol so downloaded the ne6 rom flashed with odin and root with towel root. all good now

What'd you use to flash to a earlier stock firmware? Flashify or Flashboot?

G900T-UVU1CNK2-BOOTLOADER.tar.md5

https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95784891001616612 this is the bootloader file . if you upgraded to g900tuvucnk2 by using mobile odin pro and want to upgrade the bootloader as well than flash this file in pc odin under bootloader. this is because mobile odin pro will not flash bootloaders.
Will this screw up root or trip knox?

theoretically you can downgrade the bootloader as well as the firmware to ne6 but I have not tried it on nk2 . my guess is that it shouldnt be a problem . why would you need to downgrade?if it is to root there are two tutorials on how to upgrade to nk2 without tripping knox and being rooted. mine is here http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmo...t-firmware-t2908019/post56072043#post56072043 and another one by galaxyuser88 here http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-galaxy-s5/general/how-to-root-s5-firmware-knox-0x0-t2909352 they are different procedures but both work. the second one does not use mobile odin pro and involves flashing an older kernel , rooting and then flashing new kernel. but this is only if you have the new firmware installed from pc odin and are not rooted. I hope that makes sense

[ROOT] Root Samsung Galaxy A5 (A500M) with Know 0x0

Hello.
I saw that there were several requests to create a forum for Galaxy A3 / A5 / A7, but without success. Therefore, I create this topic here in the Alpha series.
How to root the Samsung Galaxy A5 (my variant is A500M duos brazilian) without changing the Knox counter.
Tutorial:
1) Enable USB debugging on developer settings.
2) Download the KingRoot 4.0 apk in the official site and install it. ( http://kingroot.net/root/ )
3) Connected on the Internet, open the app and click the blue button and wait until 100%.
4) Ready. Device with root and Knox 0x0 (valid warranty).
I hope this helps.

Does this mean that if I root my galaxy alpha 850F with cf-root, and not installing the twrp or cm recovery my knox will be untouched? Because all I want to do is to root the device without any cm recovery.

I'm a bit confused...
I would really appreciate if someone could answer my questions:
1. If I root galaxy alpha 850F with cf-root will I loose warranty?
2a. If I root with cf-root will I get also flashed the TWRP Recovery?
2b. Do I have the option not to flash TWRP Recovery?
3. Has anyone managed to root with KingRoot successfully without loosing warranty?
Thanks!

I can answer no.3 because ive done it and knox wasnt changed but i lost the possibility to update OTA. So now odin is the only solution to flash official lolipop.

Even if I don't root it, I will flash lollipop with Odin only, not OTA!
So kingroot can root galaxy alpha running lollipop without tripping Knox?
Hi guys. Very disappointed with L 5.0.2 on my A5.
1. Phone should have benefits of 64 bit, yet it is "stuck" with 32 bit. (Various benchmarks showing it).
2. The S Planer widget is gone after update!
3. The promised longer battery life is not fulfilled. Before on 4.4.4 was getting 2 and 1/2 days with one charge now the best I got is 1 day 8 hours.
More less decided to go back to KK 4.4.4.
Also no difference in phones performance. ..

Thanks ! When lollilop arrive in Brazil (SM-A500M duos), i will not upgrade.
well... back to KK4.4.4 and much better.
I was under impression than L5.x.x will unleash the full potential of 64 bit processor , but for now holding back to see what L 5.1.1 will do.
Till then I am OK with KK 444 as it doesn't cause any troubles, which I had on L 5.0.2...
Does anyone know of this works on the Alpha A3 (A300FU)?
--Edit--
Worked perfectly on the above model and did everything I needed.

First, you can't unlock the bootloader on the PL1 Baseband.
Second, though KNOX is a part of the ROM, it also is a separate part within the bootloader. So when rooting the ROM, what happens is that whatever is disabled or uninstalled for KNOX, it's only affecting the KNOX within the ROM and not the bootloader as the bootloader is locked up tight.
Third, I'm not a fan of the KingRoot. I use the Wondershare Software on the PC to root the S4. The software also installs SuperSU for Root Management. I always recommend using the Wondershare PC Software.
I know that there are individuals who use KingRoot successfully but, for me, I find that it is too much work and can be a nightmare at times. I don't believe that KingRoot properly roots the device most of the time and can cause issues when implementing SuperSU.
I tried my best to explain this... I hope you understand what I stated.
The best of luck to you my friend!!!

TWRP is a bootloader program and, as I stated before, you can't unlock your bootloader. You can only root it.

Rooting before unlocking? Benefits of using Wondershare?
Have you also unlocked your phone? Do you recommend rooting before unlocking? Are you able to remove bloatware after using Wondershare?
What other apps or abilities have you used after rooting this build of GS4?
Thanks

I say root before carrier unlock. I don’t think it matters though. Once rooted with wonder share you will be able to remove bloat. All you can do is use flash fire to boot custom TW ROMS after rooting. You will need to be on the OF1 firmware though to boot most custom TW ROMS. I have written a guide here that may help you: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...al/guide-rooting-roming-sch-i545-pl1-t3846576

You can't install TWRP unless you're on the MDK firmware which if you updated your phone, you can't go back to MDK without bricking. However, you might can benefit from my GPL1 guide here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...al/guide-rooting-roming-sch-i545-pl1-t3846576

Pro's and Cons of rooting Samsung Galaxy S9+ SM-G965U

So as I understand the SM-G965U is the only Verizon model that is CDMA and can be rooted.
I also understand that the bootloader is factory locked and cant be unlocked currently.
So as I understand it I cant load custom roms and I will be stuck with stock rom?
Is there a version that has bootloader factory unlocked and is CDMA capable?
So as I see I can root this model but with limitations such as
Cons
loss of finger print login
due to locked boot loader no customer roms only the stock rom?
loss of samsung pay and encrypted folder
loss of warrenty via tripped KNOX
Pro's
root access maybe some banking apps with Magisk
enable hot spot without monthly bribe to Verizon
any other pro's tips or gotchas I should know b 4 I buy this phone?
If you can not unlock the bootloader, which is the case. A limited root is not even worth the try...
