Tab Settings Launcher v1.0 - G4 Themes and Apps

Hello,
i created an app, which opens the settings app in Tab-View.
As you know, if you install an other launcher, Settings will be displayed as a list.
With this small app it will be shown as Tabs.
Install apk and hide the other settings app

Where is the difference to the stock settings app?

I have an option to change the way settings displays, sure this is available to anyone too. Just tap the 3 dot menu in the top right corner to change the view between list and tabbed.

update with images your post please

We all knows, 'tab view' is available, but he is referring the feature he has added with this small apk, that "enable the settings to open in tab view on third-party launchers" such Nova. So, you would not need to tap the 3 dot menu in the top right corner to change the view between list and tabbed. Also, this might come handy on AOSP based ROM(s), as and when Root on G4 comes and third-party ROM(s) development begins. Because, AOSP ROM(s) misses this settings feature, as it's only available on stock based ROM(s).

It works fine for me when I set the default to tabbed view and open settings from Nova Launcher, opens in tabbed view.
Regards to AOSP ROM s AOSP doesn't ha e a tabbed view option in the first place that would actua6beed to be coded into the ROM by the dev it's not a simple settings toggle.

Had to search for a solution. This works. Thanks.

I hope this would work on g5.

[Q] TouchWiz 5 GT-i9300T AUS Vodafone Dock problems

Hi all newbie here and did a few searches and tried to look for help but could not find right info, also I hope I am in the right spot to post so please feel free to tell me if I am not in the right place. Currently running ICS 4.0.4 up-to-date at time of writing on Vodafone Australia but I don't think the country of service provider is the problem. I have a problem with my 'Home Screen Dock' NOT THE 'Lock Screen Dock' I can change icons on the lock screens no problems, All the help, forums and videos on changing the 'Home Screen Dock' Icons say to simply drag, drop[ and replace. All i wanted to do is change the stock "Internet" Icon with Chrome. Dragged the internet icon of and went to drag the Chrome one on but I can't as instead of the dock staying visible like on some videos it changes to the Delete Icon option. Cant find settings please help. Also I do not want to use a 3rd party launcher. I tried Apex and do like it but I use widgets and can't use widgets as my phone is not rooted. Please help arrrgghhh. Thanks in advance.
PS . I just have a blankspot where my internet Icon use to be.
I am running JB at the moment, so can't tell you perfectly. But I remember having this situation before and I used menu-edit to change icons in dock. try that.
Or go into app drawer and navigate to page where chrome is then go menu-edit... pick chrome and try to bring it down on the dock.

Doing menu-edit changes the dock bar and give me the following 4 options to drag the icon on to.... "Create Folder" "Create Page" "File Info" "Delete".

Thanks for your reply...I had already tried this. The only difference is that now once you start to drag instead of the "Creat Folder" "Create Page" "File Info" and "Delete" it does the same but just with those as icons and no text.

Gonna go and get rooted the I can take full advantage of APEX Launcher.
Hi All,
Like StefsGalaxy, I've done a myriad of searches re: TouchWiz Shortcut Dock and thus have yielded no results, or at least nothing fluid anyway.
I guess it is a localised issue. i.e. AU Only. I'm with the Vodafone network but have seen posts the same from people who are on Telstra.
I've read a few threads on XDA RE: Modifying TouchWiz, and have been fairly successful. Said Mods have mostly been Column / Row modifications to allow for more icons on the HomeScreen and AppDrawer.
I'm interested to know if there is a way I can
A) Modify the application shortcuts on the dock (within the APK)
B) Undo the changes that Samsung have 'borked'
C) Revert to a pre-jelly bean version of TouchWiz (seclauncher2.apk) where the functionality to change the Apps still exists..
Perhaps if I could find seclauncher.apk from a 4.0.4 build (any directions on where are welcome), I could compare the differences between the two and re-compile for 4.1.1.
Any alternative suggestions that don't involve a complete ROM change or a new Launcher? (I quite like what I have)
Thanks in advance....

[Q] Tasker Auto multiwindow 2 apps

So im trying to get both my maps app and pandora or something else to open from a one click button on homescreen or nfc tag. I want them to open up in multiwindow mode one in each place.Has anyone saw this or knows how to do it? Im running Cleanrom 4.9with full access to multiwindow and root. Anyone have any ideas? would greatly appreciate it.
I realize this is an old thread, but, have you tried/used this? LOVING it.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bjbinc.mwmphone
You'll need to know:
- It does not enable/turn Samsung's MW mode; it doesn't need to, but it's nice for it to be 'on' so you can resize windows.
- You'll call a shortcut to that app from within Tasker - scroll to the bottom of the list apps and you'll see the "Windows Shortcut (2 Apps)" listed.

Also, almost all of the kitkat TW roms for our phone have the ported Note 3/S5 multiwindow, which has 2 app shortcuts natively.

Chrome & Lollipop - remove tabs line from the top ?

I am staring at Chrome under Lollipop, and I am seeing the tab line on top, please see this for screenshots :

(click first + to expand)
I am seeing Chrome as shown on the right (with a tab row on top), but I want to make tabs collapsible (as on the left).
Do you have the same for your Lollipop ?
Is there a way to remove the tab row, and make it look as on smaller screens ?
Those look like the play store images for Chrome beta: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.chrome.beta. I think one on left is just the lollipop recents screen.
Been using beta for awhile. AFAIK, tabs only hide when you scroll down a web page (which "regular" Chrome does too).

It's not really beta-related. Basically, Chrome decides if it's running on a phone or a tablet, and then sets the interface accordingly (with or without the upper tabs). Please see this :

After all said and done, App settings do help to switch Chrome to the phone mode, if the resolution is set really low, 320x480. If you need this, please see App Settings at this link:

How to get back a one-page settings menu in the V30/V30+?

I strongly dislike when apps like to split up settings menu for me trying to dumb it down for the average user. Instead, I want back the one-page settings menu instead of sorting it into multiple pages.
Is there a native way to do it, or an app that emulates every feature of settings on one page? Or, how can I hack this to show a one-page settings menu?

Thank you, but this does not put them all on one page, it puts the categories on one page with many submenus, unlike previous phones I've used. It does get rid of the tabs though so it's an improvement

That's the max that can be done with Lg's UI
You must have been running some custom ROM or UI or something because Android by default - any version - has never had a single long column for Settings that provides access to every possible option. There's always been a category list, then submenus in each category, and so on.

Maybe I'm used to Touchwiz which has fewer subcategories and a much longer settings page (Galaxy S5, Galaxy S7, Note 9).
Just looked at my S5 and it's sorted out by categories all on one page:
WIRELESS & NETWORKS
...
DEVICE
...
PERSONAL
...
MOTION
...
ACCOUNT
...
SYSTEM
...
Click to collapse
Where I wrote "...." that is a list of subitems (instead of typing every menu item out on this post) all on the same page of the home page of the settings screen. This is on S5 with Kitkat, but note 9 and S7 are similar.
Would like to get that same menu back on this phone.

Shortcuts (URL) on Android Homescreen

Hi!
I have added several shortcuts to websites on my homescreen while browsing.
I've tried to find more information about this but I wonder why it's impossible to edit the URL or change the app to use besides the one that created the shortcut.
There must be a source of the shortcut that is editable?
The name is editable but not the content of it.
The device I'm talking about uses Android 5.0.2 but I have the same on a device running on Android 9.
Why can't it behave like a file which leds to an 'Open with' screen?
AFAK creating web-links on home-screen is a feature offered by both the Chrome and the Firefox browser. It's not a feature provided by any Android OS version.

I see.
So they are assigned to the program who made them?
They can't be detached from them?
Why does the Android user in this video get the chance to choose which app should open the hyperlink?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZFP2sJMocA
Is there a difference between adding from the bookmarks or by adding the shortcut directely from the feature?
He did add the shortcut from his bookmarks while I just used the feature without passing through the bookmarks. (would be strange but you never know)
The video is from 2012 so I assume that the Android version is even lower than 5 which would mean that there was more functionality (in this case at least) back then.
Is there a go-around when it comes to choosing the browser you want to use?
It would be nice to see the list of installed browers popping up.
