[CLOSED] [Watchface] Got a special date? Add a countdown to your watchface (+ weather info) - Wear OS Software and Hacking General

Hi!
We've just uploaded a new watchface.
If you are waiting for a specific date like your wife birthday, your wedding anniversary or the NFL 2015 Kickoff, with this watchface you will be able to add the date and see how many days, hours, mins and seconds are left to that special moment comes.
Along with this, you will get weather information(current, max and minimum temperature for the day), and several colours for the seconds hand and the outer circle to choose from.
You can use the watchface without a date set also, and in this case the outside circle will tell you how much day is still left.
If you set a date, that circle will show you how much time is left until that moment.
Mod edit: Removed paid app link
I hope you like, we are all open to suggestions and improvements.

Dude... It cost money.
Aren't there commercial market places for you to advertise?

AdvertisEment is not appreciated here.

I'm not posting it here as a marketing forum or as an advertisement, I'm posting here because I love to get feedback from you and I'm eager to implement new features you guys can propose or would like to have in this app or in any other. (Like BTW, I've done in the past with other apps).
This isn't the first neither the last app on this forum which costs money. But come on, it is only a dollar (of which I would earn hardly 70 cents), you are supporting Android Wear development.
Everyone likes to have new watch faces and apps, I'm not a company who only works on that, I'm doing that on my free time, a little reward to keep on doing this things it is always welcomed.

11. Don’t post with the intention of selling something.
Don’t use XDA to advertise your product or service. Proprietors of for-pay products or services, may use XDA to get feedback, provide beta access, or a free version of their product for XDA users and to offer support, but not to post with the intention of selling. This includes promoting sites similar / substantially similar to XDA-Developers.com.

Very busy, loads of new people..

First of all: this site seems to continue to attract new cool people, and I'm greatly enjoying the easy way we all seem to work together.
The whole site got 20-30% busier relative to a week ago. We're averaging well over 1000 visits a day now. These are probably mostly new people lured by the prospect of the Special Edition ROM and its ability to unlock without the serial cable.
Communities like ours feed on fresh blood and new ideas. So let's all try to be extra nice and tolerant these next few days and weeks. Some growing pains are probably inevitable, but think how some of these new folks are likely to bring interesting knowledge and experience. (Even if most of the others just bring newbie questions you've all seen a million times.)

A big thanks for the hard work on the site guys, a great resource. Starting to feel a bit more comfortable with my XDA now
Yeah! you guys did a great job! and most of all I like the fact that you are not trying to commercialize this. Respect...
i just joined up because this community reminds me of another kick-ass community that I also joineded: The Tivo Community. This forum has the same passions, feel and excitement. I love that I have found a place to hang out that is ACTIVE and chock full of great information.

LOL as much as I doubt they would.... if these very kind people did try to "commercialize this" they'd find a lawsuit in the post by HTC, O2, T-mobile and just about every telecoms company that supports the HTC-wallaby device...
Even if O2 cant support its own userbase...
Personally I think its a shame that the O2 official support had to be done as an april fools joke. By far this would have been the best move that the non computer literate O2 could have done.
Unfortunatly maybe it would mean this site becoming too busy and overwhelming the developers?
Ian.

Hi guys,
Just wanted to leave a quick thank you for the work you're doing. I've been able to do some great things with my device due to this site and the great community that's developed here.
I live in Australia and the XDA is pretty expensive over here so I bought a T-Mobile unit from the US. You guys made it possible for me to get the thing unlocked and online as soon as it was in my hot little hands
Many thanks.
Great work guys,
i cant comment on excellence!
Keep it up and whatever you need from us as support we will do it.
Regards
Update...
Remember I posted the webstats halfway through June? It got even busier since:
To put that in perspective: look at the monthly totals:
I'm glad our community still functions as well as it does, given this insane growth.
You're all fantastic...
Exponential growth continues...
As you can see above, the site used to do 1 GB a day on really busy days in June. We did 2 and 1.8 GB on 1st and 2nd of July respectively. About 2/3 of that seems to be forum traffic, and we get 1600+ visits a day now.

Just digging through my box of stuff I rarely look at, and found these two items...
Pay for shipping (Paypal) and they're yours, or pickup in Fergus ON, or arrange a day to meet up in Guelph, or Hamilton.
Can't just throw out perfectly good brand new unopened items like this, I'm not a hoarder or a pack-rat, just feel someone would appreciate these items.
Please send me a PM and post in this thread if you do so, don't want too much inbox flooding.
Xda is not a place for selling. The marketplace got closed long back. You need to use Ebay or other websites.
So, basically, this thread is inappropriate and will probably get locked.

Can't even give it away then? That's lame.
Apologies.
I stand corrected.
But it still is in the wrong section.
This should be in the accessories section.

Lol could people stop using my concept art as advertisement xD Seen it on so many local businesses and it's just weird.
If you want to sell/give stuff away, use http://swappa.com/ which is XDA's phone market.
Read more about it here: http://www.xda-developers.com/announcements/xda-makes-swappa-its-official-marketplace/
That's pretty funny that I found your artwork on Google, and it just happened to be the nicest looking photo to display that gloss white back cover.
Swappa appears to be full devices only... I'll just repost in the accessories section.

10 million sold and we can't even get a 1,000 people to sign a petition to have their bootloader unlocked (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2490930). That's not a force. That's a bunch of spec junkies willing to settle for the status quo.

No amount of signatures will get that to happen. Samsung doesnt care about awhat just 1000 of its users want when there are 10 million who dont care
Even if we got the 1000 signatures that would be .01% of sales (so far)... not even a ripple in the pond...
I know it seems like a big deal to us because we're all here on the forum all the time and the buzz around here is all about hacking and jacking our phones till the early hours of the morning... but... to the vast majority of consumers... non of this means jack squat.
Try joining the galaxy note 3 community on Google +... Over 4200 members... posts flying through there at warp speed... and nobody knows what the he'll I'm talking about when I post screen shots of Safestrap or Hyperdrive or Wanam exposed mods... people still flip out and think they are legally in jeopardy if they root... This phone is causing a mass migration of iPhoners and it's a good and bad thing i suppose... samsung is leaning more towards closed platform where possible to make things dummy proof...(i can't even begin to describe how much that gets on my nerves... iPhone was supposed to be the smartphone... android was the phone for smart people)... but at the same time, with sales the way they are we will see a lot more aftermarket products and accessories... just roll with the punches i guess... it is what it is.

I haven't signed it. I haven't written my request for an unlocked bootloader in a note to Santa Claus either. Equally futile wastes of time. Then again, I just went ahead and bought the one with an unlocked bootloader (Dev Edition), so I guess I'm not willing to settle for the status quo.

Beware of Root Check and Other Apps by JRummy16

Hey guys,
Just wanted to share this surprising situation I recently noticed with @jrummy16's Root Check app. I never opened this app for the past 14+ months on my Note 8, yet I just noticed this today that it has used almost 6GB of data in the background throughout the past month! What TF

Restoring app data from Titanium Backup messes up the WiFi/Cellular data usage recorded for each app.
Its always a bad idea to double post but I really wonder why the mod closed the other thread - there is actually more to see than here ...

Didn't intend to double post, for some buggy reason, the XDA website kept giving me a "This Website is Not Available" error message the first 5 times I tried creating the thread. Went into my account stat details after first 5 attempts and didn't see anything new. 6th attempt it finally worked and then all the other 5 showed up.
Either way, XDA really should give an option to delete threads you created, especially for this reason. Not sure why such a basic function is missing in this forum.
I sold JRummy Apps in 2017 to Maple Media. I highly doubt they are doing anything fishy here, but they did add tons of ad SDKs. I hate what they have done with the apps and sadly I wish I never sold to them. I don't recommend using any apps published under JRummy Apps, not because I think they are doing anything malicious, but I think they're business practices are abhorrent. They don't care about the end-user. This is why we should always try to support (financially) indie-app developers and OSS, they have the user's interest in mind whereas companies like Maple Media could care less about you.

Maple media guys approached me as well to buy my App portfolio, thankfully at that time, i got connected with @jrummy16 and he advised me against selling to them. Probably the best decision i ever made.
I can personally vouch for @jrummy16, he is one of the most trustworthy app developers i know. However I can't say the same for Maple media whose only aim is to make money of off end user. I would rather have my small tribe of users than sell my apps to a money hungry conglomerate. I am hoping jrummy16 can come back to the app scene. Jared and koush are among the highest quality indie developers out there.
