How do you flash the bootloader? - Fire HD 6 and 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I think I've looked everywhere on here and haven't found specific instructions on how to flash the bootloader. (Step 5 of the OP on http://forum.xda-developers.com/fire-hd/general/how-to-upgrade-to-4-5-4-twrp-root-t3141648 ) I know this is a newb question, but I've search this forum, YouTube and Google to no avail.
Here's what I've done so far:
Out of the box 4.5.3.
OTA update to 4.5.4.
Updated to Dev Preview 5.20.
Downgraded to 4.5.3.
Rooted
Installed TWRP
I have all of the necessary files specified in the thread. Just not sure how to flash the bootloader. Again, sorry for the newb question. Thanks!

<Sigh> Post was fine where it was, and where I answered it . . .

How to root from stock HC 3.2 (1st root??)
Sorry,For my stupid Question T-T
Today My Flyer update to HC 3.2 alraedy ,and How to root it?
Thank so much....

this thread...or not..
can someone confirm me...please..
You should have posted this question in the General section, questions like this should not be in the DEV section.
I do not think you can root the official HC if you did the upgrade. You 1st need to downgrade to GB again. Follow this thread to downgrade.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1428104
Then after you have downgraded you can follow the steps in the link you posted to upgrade to HC again with a prerooted version.
Before you do anything READ, READ and READ again.
Good luck

ICS Upgrade for Rooted Xperia S

Hi,
I'm fairly new with this phone, and I had rooted it without unlocking the bootloader. (downgrade to GB, root, then upgrade to ICS)
I just found out that a newer version of ICS is released the other day and was wondering that if there is anyway I can update my device while keeping the root ? Say, if I use flashtool to flash the new version, will I lose the root? Or should I use the pc companion software? Or cwm recovery?
I am a total noob here, and I have no idea what I'm doing... Kind of want to figure everything out before I accidentally bricked my phone.
you could try the thread about it on the development section:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1857736
or you can try this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1856287
And btw, use the search button first, or at least read the thread titles in the first page ¬¬
Thanks !!
I must have phrased the keywords wrong or something last night since neither of the posts you provided was in the search result.
Thanks for sharing the posts though. I had just successfully upgraded my phone with PCC while preserving the root !!

Rooted new S4 (Verizon) purchased yesterday

I'm posting here because as a newbie, I'm not allowed to post in any dev forums, but . . .
I received the Verizon Galaxy S4 (SCHI545) yesterday, powered it on, activated it. It promply downloaded the I545VRUEMK2 update & asked me to install it, which I let it.
After reading the entire thread, I followed K1mu's post #1 instructions in the thread [ROOT] Saferoot: Root for VRUEMJ7, MK2, and Android 4.3
I took my time, because I wanted to make sure my Samsung USB drivers would communicate properly before taking the plunge. I had an older version of the drivers installed for my Droid Charge already (which were reported to work) but I wanted to test the ADB communications first.
After confirming that, i ran the batch file K1mu provided, & everything worked as expected. I rooted the Original Motorola Droid, the Samsung Droid Charge, & now this. I must say this was the easiest root I have performed.
Thanks to K1mu and all the helpful posters in that thread.
Chris
Would be nice if you actually post in a thread for the root.. this will probably get lost.
Just sayin...

Scratch all I wrote below. I see what you mean. There are already several ongoing threads right here! I should have added to one of the existing . . .
I tried to post in the developers section where the conversation is ongoing. I have not enough posts, and the mods will not allow me to post there. If you mean I should have posted to a particular rooting thread in the "General Forum" . . . point taken.
Thanks
With that. thread is closed ...

How to install a new updated firmware via fastboot?

Hello,
I have checked in the forums already but I didn't fidn a definitive answer, and most of the thread use the "rebranding" strategy which I do not trust fully (it's a little opaque). This begs the following question: how one would, given the update files from Huawei, update using fastboot? This assuming an already unlocked device with TWRP on it.
Thanks in advance.

Please delete all that.
Please.
That tutorial on REDDIT is taken STRAIGHT from my WTF INSTRUCTIONS. If you look closely, he gives me credit. But most parts are copied word for word. I recognize my own phrasing.
Except NOW the Reddit version is OUTDATED.
You need to read the instructions here on XDA, where it was invented. AND KEPT CURRENT.
If you want Reddit, go back there and ask questions.
Otherwise follow the CORRECT Instructions here on XDA.
And stop posting bad info from other forums. You can say your followed it, but do NOT post bad, outdated information.
This is what you need, and where those Reddit instructions came from:
WTF BOOTLOADER UNLOCK, INSTALL TWRP AND ROOT -- AND UPDATE
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=76584629&postcount=193
Mod Edit
You'll figure it out by reading and following my current Instructions.
You probably are still on early Oreo or wrong TWRP. You're not understanding you followed outdated Instructions.
Section 9 is about updating to Pie. Your Reddit stuff copied from HERE was written before LG stock Pie even existed.
Mod Edit
Hey friend, cool your jets, chazz asked nicely. He said please repeatedly. And he's the author of the instructions you've tried to follow.
As chazz explained, those ones are out of date. He linked you the recent instructions that I and many others used successfully to root and twrp our lgv30s to get into pie and now 10.
So, go easy pal. Chazz has spent ages helping others out. And his guides are pure gold.
I'd suggest you replace the out of date guidance with current, or better, just link to chazz guide directly in XDA. So others can see best guidance too. Then come telegram and you'll get plenty help there if you get stuck
And up to you ofc, but a little apology goes a long way to fix mistakes
Good luck
