[GUIDE][HOW TO] Extract Factory Samsung's system.img file for create your Stock Based - Samsung Galaxy Pocket Neo S5310

Hello world!
Now I will tell you how to extract Samsung's factory system.img files (with support to 4.4) on Windows
That's right???
- That's right mate
An example:
You want to extract The Pocket Neo 2 (5312C/5310L) System files, deodex and make your own custom ROM for 5312B/10B with that apk files
That's the first thing you have to do :3
How this works:
We will use the delicious ImgExtractor v1.3.6 <Created by And_PDA (Based on sources ext4_unpacker)> as base and with this and few more things to complete the mission
It will read blocks of RAW EXT4 image and extract then keeping the metadata and all the stuff you must know... (including .journal file)
Procedure:
Part 01
Download and extrac the tool to somewhere
Take a Big G search and find Pocket Neo 2 ODIN stock ROM, (for example...)
Rename it to S5312xxxxxxx_bla_bla_blaHOME.tar
Now simple extract with WinRAR
You will see a few files, do not lose the focus, look at system.img
Now it is time to Part 02
Part 02
Coopy the system.img file to \system.img Extractor\para_extrair
Don't rename it, please
Now go a level back on the folder and open .comd file that you preffer
Read all and make your choice
- Option 01, I choose You! (Pokemon forever :3 !)
Now, wait until it extract all and when it is done, do a party! You made it!
You can now manipule your files, deodex, decompile and bla bla bla (Keep in mind, I wont tell you how to, because XDA is flooded with good guides for this :3 :v )

[Tutorial][MDPI] make your lockscreen look like AOSP ICS

This tutorial is adapted from Arc forums originally by jjdoctor. i just resized PNG for mdpi device. (pls delete this thread if it's against the rules or repeated)
0. make a nandroid backup.
1. open framework-res.apk using winrar / 7zip etc
2. copy and overwrite the png from attached zip file to /res/drawabale-mdpi
3. change the new framework-res.apk file permissions to 0644(like the old file's permissions)
4. replace the old framework-res.apk with the new one (the result will be a boot loop if you replace it with wrong permissions)

is there somebody who can make this as a flashable zip for .431
that's pretty easy but not recommended coz it can affect themes andother framework mods and make some troubles. it's just a simple copy-paste stuff.
i get an error, because i don't have busy box
try this
install via cwm

Thanks for sharing, working on Live with walkman stock rom :good:
thnx I9103, works perfectly on sk17i .431 :highfive:
it has nothing to do with busybox
i can't make a make a nandroid backup because i don't have busy box
then how did you install CWM recovery??
how do you dare installing mods without nandroid?!!!!!!
i installed cwm with recover x, and custom apps sometimes i flash it and sometimes i do it with root explorer only when i need a app instead of the whole .zip easy as hell dude

Hi all!
As you know, we can view and save java classes in classes.dex via some tools. And we have enough guides (like this; http://goo.gl/QkK6P7 ) but it requires effort so, I made this small tool for lazy people
This script will show the java files in your apk/jar (framework). Instructions as below:
1. Download the zip in Attachments.
2. Extract Java-Viewer.zip anywhere on your PC.
3. Put your an apk or jar (framework) in "Input".
4. Execute "Run_me_first.bat"
5. Follow Instructions (in tool)
**JRE is required
**IMPORTANT: DO NOT leave spaces when you name your apk files, e.g. "123 abc.zip" is a no go, "123abc.zip" is the correct way,
Bugs;
-After converting dex to jar, the script ends suddenly. Thats why you need execute View_Java.bat after finish Run_me_first.bat script
-jd-gui can't decompile all smali files.
Applications are used;
-JD-GUI 0.3.6
-7zip
-dex2jar-0.0.9.15

What you need:
1. Download, extract and run the LogoBuilder from http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3206706&d=1426151196, credit to @ankadnikov
2. Download and extract the original logo.bin from http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3421018&stc=1&d=1438070977, credit to ... i forget who :-|
3. Download the zip file from https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B54QYcwwDQ5kVnBtUUNCcVZoU0k/edit?usp=docslist_api, credit to @asifboss00
Here's the steps:
1. Extract file logo.bin to desktop

3. Notice in your desktop the files .project, header, img1.png, img2.png, img3.png (5 files)
4. Edit only the img1.png in your favourite image editor
5. After that, click "Make" button, extract file logo.bin, overwrite it to googleblackbootlogo.zip (zip with store compression)
6. Go to recovery mode, make nandroid backup, flash it your googleblackbootlogo_ugly.zip, you don't need to unlock your bootloader

You revive old thread
anyway, what you need is "logo.bin", so download "logo.7zip" and extract it so you'll have "logo.bin"
if it is not working i don't know who wrote the thread

}
As you can see, I had successfully add all of the Google Apps into the "non GApps" system.img (MediaTek rom), but after I booted up my phone, the annoying notification shown up. But this doesn't happend to the original rom
So this is what I did
1. I download the rom from NeedRom
2. I download the Google Apps from https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347821182
3. I unpack the system.img using this tool from the forum
4. I delete all of the "china parts" from the rom
5. I copy the GApps from step 2 to the system unpacked folder from step 3
6. I repack the system with the same tool from step 3 and apply the rom into the phone using SP Flash Tool
Finally the phone came up with the alert notification
BUT there is a small detail that I notice while I was playing around the Auto Tool v3
( This is the part when I unpack - repack - unpack the file :3 )
Is there anything that I can do to remove the annoying alert? Even if I have to apply the rom again.
P/s: this is the file_contexts I pulled out from the boot.img if someone wil going to unpack the system.img
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1RTsnBzcaa5UGNwSE1SRi1LRXc/view
The alert also shown up when I rooted my device and only when I unroot it (I use KingRoot)
Thanks to everyone is going to help me

HELPP! Can´t open my deivce firmware.zip file to extract boot.img.

Hi, so i got a simple tablet, Multilaser M7S Lite, and i want to root it, my main goal is to be able to edit System folder, i want to change the boot animation, mainly.
So , since there is no TWRP recovery for this brand, i decided that the only way, was with magisk patching boot.img. So i found my deivce firmware - https://www.stockrom.net/2021/04/multilaser-m7s-lite-so06-v7-20200509-8-1oreo.htmland download the .img file. So to extract the boot.img, i need to change it to .zip file and open. But when opening it it says the following:
And using 7-zip, it only extract this files :
What can i do?
The firmware-package file you linked to is a .RAR-formatted archive.
When you unpack this .RAR-file then you can see a ML***USER.img is housed therein what is tablet's Stock ROM.
To unpack this .IMG-file you may use sim2img provided here:
[DEV][Tools] simg2img for Windows
Hello, although I'm working in Linux (VM too) I rewrote the SIMG2IMG so far for Windows (PE32, x86) Usage: simg2img.exe -i -o Optional: -d for debugging messages, listing all chunks of the image...

Running sim2img, it says bad magic.
It's the full firmware but is it an allwinner or a rockchip or... These tabs can be like whatever. Check that first then google how to extract etc.
I found this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...images-unpacker-packer.1753473/#post-28329544
SOO i manage to unpack it!!
Which file i use in magisk to patch?? boot.fex?
