RN2 not recognized in adb - Redmi Note 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When I connect my Note 2, it's not seen by the PC. When I list the devices, nothing's there. I tried adding vendor and model ids in udev (I'm on Linux), but it didn't help. Anyone knows how to fix this?

Update your adb.
You need 1.0.32
First check if your version is older (e.g. 1.0.31):
Code:
$ adb version
Android Debug Bridge version 1.0.32
Then upgrade, following #3 from this guide: Ubuntu 14.04 - Install Android Tools

Tried on a Windows PC and I get the same result, adb version 1.0.32. However, I was able to flash TWRP before, but now it doesn't see the device at all. I'm on xiaomi.eu dev 5.9.24.
Edit: Just realized that this happens on Windows:

Apparently, the drivers are not installed, however I DID install adb drivers, but whenever I try to install Xiaomi USB drivers (manual installation through Device Manager), Windows say they didn't find any compatible drivers for my device. But they ARE there in the folder specified. This is driving me crazy.
Edit edit: found solution for adb drivers problem here, however, I still cannot install drivers for "Redmi".
Anyway, adb works now on this Windows machine, the question is whether I'll be able to achieve this on my Linux PC, too.

Hi.I tried to get rooot on my new MMX A87,but unsuccesful.I did not face any problem during rooting of my LG OPTIMUS,HTC WILDFIRE S,EXPLORER and GALAXY ACE.But this time i really f****.
I followed the instructions given in different threads related to A87. What i have done....
1.Install android sdk.
2.Install jdk
3.Dwn google usb driver and platform tools.
4.Manually put adb_usb.ini file in \.android folder.
5.install a87 driver using device manager.
Problem :-
1.device manager detect device as "USB Composite Devices"
2.In fastboot mode "Android ADB Interface" driver is installed ,but does not active in normal mode with usb debuging on.
3."Android Diagnostics Interface" driver is installed but remains inactive when device is connected with pc.
4.All other drivers are working properly.
5.Adb devices command shows result as empty list.

Yes, I've this problem too. In Windows 7, Adb work fine with Stock rom but not CM. But when I use linux adb works for CM. Maybe It's some problem about drivers.
I've been having the same issue with my P769, on AntonX's CM10.1. I'm considering just restoring a Wind backup I have on the SD, since all I need adb for is to replace the recovery. With the stock ROMs, adb was working perfectly fine as well.
If I don't do that, I'll test it out with Linux tonight.
EDIT: Forgot to mention that I'd tried manually installing all the drivers as well. For most of the drivers, no devices were found. For the ADB Testing Interface and the Android Sooner Single Interface drivers, my phone was listed as offline.

Some texts say about to add manual device id and vendor number in adb_usb.ini
I tried that but cannot find this numbers...
Hi
Did you try usbdeview to see installed preloader and com driver .. then just right click on both of them and uninstall and try install drivers again,
I don't know if this will work or not but you can give a try .. best Alcatel drivers are installed via alcatel-manager from alcatel site

By the way I rooted my Alcatel 985D by installing
mt65x3-usb-vcom-drivers
SP Flash Tool v2.1134.00
and I get a scatter file for my alcatel from xda-developers site
and a boot image from there too and I just flashed the boot image using sp flash tool
then my phone become rooted without need of adb shell stuff

This happens with my brother's tablet, i've downloaded adb wifi app in google play store, it's a good alternative, the app is free

[Powershell][Windows][Script]Get & Install Latest Official ADB & Fastboot Drivers

Google has made it easy to use ADB in Windows these days, but the ADB commands can only be used in a directory. This a Powershell script for Windows that will download the latest ADB from the Official repositories and install it System-wide or User-Wide, this script will also install latest Google drivers also from from the Official repositories. This script will help to install ADB and the drivers in an easy way. Most ADB installers come in exe format where you cannot see exactly what they do exactly. So I decided to write the whole thing as a Windows Poweshell script.
On my github page you can download the script and you can also find an explanation how to use the script. The big difference to others is that ADB & Fastboot drivers are updated in real time when this tool is used. For the drivers i have to update a link I'll do my best when a new driver comes out to update the link as soon as possible.

Notes:
System-wide: ADB and Fastboot are installed to HOMEDRIVE\ADB directory, and added system-wide path.
HOMEDRIVE=C:\ so in case of the system-wide install option ADB will copy over to C:\ADB
Current user only: ADB and Fastboot are installed to UserProfile\ADB directory, and added path for current user. UserProfile=%SystemDrive%\Users{username} so in case of the Userwide-wide install option ADB will copy over to C:\Users\username\ADB
CMD or Powershell can use ADB and Fastboot from any directory.
If you are using this tool and you having problems leave a comment and I will try to help you

Panasonic FZ-X1 - ADB works but not FASTBOOT

Hello,
I hope someone can offer an idea of how to solve issue I'm facing atm.
I have FZ-X1 phone and it's came simlocked from Japan.
I want to run "fastboot oem clearsimlock 0".
I'm trying to communicate to it using fastboot but the problem I have is that once I boot the phone into its stock bootloader, my PC cannot see connected phone in Device Manager:
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Once phone is fully booted into UI, I can see it recognised running command "adb devices":
I tried both latest Google and original Panasonic ADB drivers available for download. I use Windows 7 x32 version - it shouldn't have issue with drivers signature, right?
Have no clue how to overcome this obstacle. Any ideas or suggestions are very appreciated.
Thanks!
Remove the Google USB driver and the Panasonic ADB driver: All you have to do is to install the proper OEM USB driver suitable for your device:
Download Qualcomm HS-USB QDloader 9008 driver for Windows - 32-bit / 64-bit
You can now download Qualcomm QDLoader HS-USB Driver of 32-bit & 64-bit Installer. We have put up the entire installation process for you.

Thank you for your reply! I tried that - unfortunately the phone still not detected by Windows 7 once connected to PC.
