Android pay - Verizon LG G3

Hey guys so I installed Android pay and have a grand fathered card from the Google wallet days, I have a Verizon lg g3 running sky Dragon 6.0 with current kernel 5.1.1 35b. I installed Android pay by temporarily disabling root within the sueruser app. Once my card was added I reenabled superuser and installed xposed. However I keep on getting the following error when I try to make purchases with nfc enabled. My card cannot be used with android pay right now please use another card or try again later. Anyone else having this issue?

unless i missed some new developments, android pay cant be used while root is on.

So can I temporarily disable root in the superuser app before a purchase or is it going to detect my xposed install as well

i cant answer that. i never used it to get involved with the details. i just know from the many posts following its release, that it cant work on a rooted phone.
sorry

Guess there's only one way to find out just thought you had to disable root to get the cards added, I'll test later with root disabled and see what happens

I've read in one of the forums that root cloak xposed module works

You can disable root or you need a root cloak module.
It works.

It doesn't seem like it works in all situations. And not exactly reliably. Hopefully Google will figure out a way for those of us on rooted devices to use it.

That's never going to happen.
They don't want rooted users to use it.

That's correct; it's a valid security issue.

Free version of Telenav GPS navigation

After seeing people ask for a decent voice guided navigation app, I pulled the Telenav APK from my backups to share. It was posted waaay back in the early Captivate days. It's a free and legit version for basic functionality, which is plenty for navigation. It works the same as the AT&T Navigator app included in the stock phone from AT&T, but this one doesn't want to charge you $10 just for trying out the free stuff. You can upgrade to additional features for $10/month through Telenav, but there really is no need. It works just fine in basic mode.
Enjoy - slap the thanks button if this helps
Thanks for the app. I'm going to give it a try tomorrow....
google
Is it better than google navigator?
Depends on what u consider better. Better graphics and voice. Same performance. Heavier use of battery though.

I use WAZE, and seem to be ranked as 195 in the state. BUT, I tired the navigation, it works ok, but too many loops.
I would be going down a street and all for no reason it says go in this subdivision and loop around and come back out. - of course I was smart enough to see that trick.
Still goona use WAZE because of the other users posting where the cops are hiding.

Thanks for this! I had a question. Has anybody tried to 'trick' Market so we are able to download this:
https://market.android.com/details?...sImNvbS50ZWxlbmF2LmFwcC5hbmRyb2lkLnNwcmludCJd
This is V7.1.1 (different from the one they call TeleNav GPS Navigator for TMO) and is available to Sprint users. This version has some 'nice' Widgets (equivalent to that of AT&T Telenav) that V6.2.6201121 doesn't have.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JMiCL6hV85Q
I am wondering if this will still work on the AT&T network...and, we wouldn't have to pay a ridiculous monthly fee?
Any thoughts?

Awesome! Can you provide the steps on what you edited on the build.prop file or even better, can you upload the 7.1.1 apk? Its 'free' so it shouldn't be an issue. Thanks again!

That's weird, are you rooted? I haven't rooted my note yet. Try erasing your data that was created within the app, by going to applications, manage apps and click on telenav as if you were going to uninstall and click clear data and try opening again.

I am getting the same behavior as btothec as well. I am wondering how you were able to download in the first place godfirst? Normally, we (AT&T users) can't see this app in the AppStore as it is blocked...I found it via the Market.Android.Com site.
And, if you haven't rooted yet, you must have both AT&T Navigator AND Telenav installed at the same time (ex. AT&T Navigator exists on system/app folder)? Are you sure you aren't subscribed to the service (now)?

No Im not subscribed. I cannot find the app due to it being blocked but because of the link to it that was posted earlier I was able to download. Now the number I have from att was ported over from when I had sprint, and my data is still stored with my number from when I had the free service with sprint. I even have the ability to look at my recent destinations which was taken when I was with sprint last summer.

Is that no as in "not yet" or "never" ???
My guess is gonna be a never. I don't see how an app that doesn't use root access can bypass the Verizon check. If I remember what I read correctly that change resided in the framework-res.apk
If rooted/unlocked then yes there is a mod which enables the native tethering
I just try pdanet and it works! just download them in your pc and phone follow the instructions on your pc and boom! Good luck

Yes you can. Pre 4.3 you could use several apps to access the native Hotspot feature with out having to actually have the service. With the 4.3 update all these apps are now broken and there's a message saying you're not subscribed to the Hotspot service.
Awesome thanks for providing the link. Can this be flashed on a stock rom with locked bootloader? I allowed my phone to do the OTA update not thinking about the bootloader lock :? grrrrr. I did get the phone rooted just not unlocked. If odin or stock recovery wont work any idea as to how I could get it on the ohone. Maybe ADB?
I had thought the courts and the FCC had ruled that Verizon couldn't charge it's customers an extra fee for using hotspot anymore. Can anyone confirm/deny?

It was the FCC, and it only applies to people that have a data cap. VZ is still allowed to charge unlimited data folks.

You need a custom recovery to flash that file, and you need an unlocked bootloader(or bootstrap method) to load one onto the phone.

How to root and gain unlimited hotspot?

Hey guys my wife has a Galaxy S5 and we got unlimited internet so i wanted to root and try to get unlimited hotspot like i got in my lg phone but i have no idea where to start, easier way to root and gain unlimited hotspot is? Thanks!
Sent from my LG-D851 using Tapatalk
There see plenty of threads where the methods on rooting were discussed.
I would start by reading through those for the pluses and minus.
Installing a custom rom will enable the hotspot.

I would suggest trying a custom ROM or if your trying to stay stock but roote w/Hotspot try one of the ROMs from Beans or Keysoh2. I've been running them and had no issue, I also tried the hotspot with no issues.
Look in the Development thread :good:
Hope it helps.
Yeah I have a towel rooted with Knox not tripped and a custom framework in it replaced with root and it works great

If you read Rom specs, you will see that many roms break knox. if they don't, it's for ppl who need an unbroken knox capability (for work, etc.)
Personally, I have found it too much trouble to be worthwhile. Every time I've made a mod for unlimited hot-spot (and it worked); it only worked for a while. Eventually the phone companies close the vulnerability, then hackers hack it, ad infinitum....
I'm still looking for a way to keep knox 0x0 but rooted, I don't need anything else. I really don't care if knox is tripped except my Samsung AllCast Hub won't work if rooted so I have to hide it
I flashed ne6 (I think that is the right version) then rooted with towelroot. I use mobile Odin pro to upgrade to newer versions of software to keep root and just replace framework with one that allows tethering

Still No Root

Is there even going to be root for this device I'm losing hope

i'm assuming you OTA'd to lollipop. if you're on any kitkat build there are root methods for all builds and you can downgrade to nc5 (easiest method imo)

Exactly. This device has been rooted for ages. The first rule of obtaining/retaining root: NEVER OTA
Devs are not inclined to find exploits for every single update that comes out (especially when the updates are usually to patch the exploits previously used). It's usually just the first or maybe a handful of releases (if you're lucky) that get root.

Call 611 and have them send new certificates to your SIM card. Or just get a new SIM card.
