How much is your V10 Sleeping? - LG V10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just out of curiosity my V10 has yet to go to deep sleep more than 52%. I can't Mail down what not allowing it to. I'm about to download BBS but wanted to see if someone else is having this issue as well and if they were able to resolve it..

(Q) does wifi drain so much

My battery doesnt last at all with wifi. I can lose like 30% with it on overnight. Is this normal?
Using westcrip 9.6 but noticed this on other roms too.

Turn off wifi and data. Then grab a metal coat hanger and prod it in the head phone socket in the top of the phone.
Really good signal and no no loss of battery at all.
Sent from my back passage
Wifi alone will not cause a 30% drain, wifi uses less power than 3g so your problem lies somewhere else. Have you looked at better battery stats, sounds like you've got wake lock issues.

Sometimes i leave the phone turned on during the night and wifi enabled.. I lose not more than 5% ... so i think your problem is something else
How would one fix wake lock issues?

Search for BetterBatteryStats on here/Market & install it. Let it run for 8-10 hrs/overnight/whatever. Read the first 10/last 10 pages of the BetterBatteryStats thread on here so you can get an idea of what information/screenshots you'll need to post so the guys who regularly post to that thread can maybe help you identify/reduce/eliminate the wakelocks.
Wifi *can* drain loads. There's a bug that causes certain routers to keep the phone awake. My dlink dir 655 does this - kills battery in a couple of hours idle. My netgear doesn't...

Battery drain issue.

Hi guys,
Is anyone having battery drain issues with their new sgs3's?
With my one it wouldn't last 12 hours without dying. Also if its at 100% it'll drop to 70% overnight while i sleep (6-7 hours) and thats with power saver on, sync off and running juicedefender.
Today I factory reset the phone and only installed flash, whatsapp and dolphin browser. Have wifi on, sync, data, gps and bluetooth off. Havent got pictures of battery stats yet since I only reset it half an hour ago.
So is anyone else experiencing battery drain? if so have you fixed it? and how?
Are there any apps I should be aware of that drain the battery?
I would remove juice defender.
Uninstall lightflow app if you are using it.
Use betterbstterystats to identify any wakelocks. The xda thread of the same name will be able to help with solutions.
Other than that follow general tips on increasing battery life that are found all over xda.
This device is easily capable of much better battery life than you are getting.
Good luck.

Something wrong with your battery maybe? This phone is easily one of the longest lasting smart phones I've used

No issues at all so far, in my case. In fact this is the first Android phone I've owned that has no battery-related issues
Based on my previous experience what you can try doing is (a) install CPU Spy to see if your phone is entering 'deep sleep' appropriately (b) install BetterBatteryStats to identify offending applications.
Even the 'Battery' section in settings is useful -- just check if any apps are keeping the phone awake for longer than you've actually used them ('Stay Awake' number).
ok well ive installed bad ass battery monitor since its free. Also since I did factory restore i charged it to full and in 1 hour 44 mins it used 7% on idle. Going to charge it to full again and use it normally to see how it is.
Only apps ive installed is XDA, badd ass battery, dolphin browser and whatsapp.
maybe you have samsung widgets etc set to refresh every hour or shorter. Or could be Whatapp

That's after the factory reset. Before I had a more stuff installed.
Right now it's been about 3.5 hours and I'm at 74% with light use.

That's definitely not right. Perhaps you have a dodgy battery? Can you find an app that measures the batteries mha. I use battery monitor pro. I will post a screenshot for comparison.

Don't be concerned by this. It appears to be normal behavior on this phone.

Just woke up and about to start work (Australia time). Ive taken a bunch of screenshots from stock battery monitor and from bad ass battery monitor. Will post up when I get home.
Also I installed battery monitor pro but it wont let me select 2100mAh. when I put it 2100mAh and press ok it just goes back to 1500mAh. Battery is currently at 36%.

Make a search for BetterBatteryStats in xda, install, learn how to use it and identify the cause of the drain

Just a guess bit that might indicate that your unit has been shipped with a dodgy battery. I would get it tested and replaced.

Not too happy with my battery either. Fully charged over night and its down to 89% 1hr 30 later. Is that normal? However, you did mention lightflow earlier though which I have installed - Is that a massive battery drain? My battery stats seem to show display as being the big culprit but I have brightness set to it lowest setting.
Also, can't seem to find battery monitor pro on play?

It's wifi, don't use it in sleep mode. There's a bug with it right now that keeps it awake.

Would you not want wifi active in sleep mode so you are still getting emails etc?

No, I have a data plan. But trust me wifi is the culprit. I have a topic on this in the general section.

I'm on Omega V4.0 and with wifi always on, fully charged 3 hours back and when i woke up it's 95% remaining. So about 1.66% loss per hour in sleep mode. With regular usage and installing and testing different roms and backing up etc them i easily get about 8~10 hours. Phone's made in Korea and battery mfg date is 2012.5.6.
Plus tons of widgets on home screens.

ConnectivityService wakelock and juice defender

I've noticed over the last few days that the connectivityservice wakelock seems high. Eg so far today its running at c.24mins and over 3100 counts from 12 hrs up time. I can't say for sure if this is a new situation as i don't check wake locks that often unless I have an obvious problem. The phone does seem to drop into deep sleep OK but the wakelock sounds too high. I use wifi constantly when home but i do also use juice defender to control the radio/wifi. Maybe this wakelock is a trade off from any battery saving from using jd. ?
I do get a bit confused over the best wifi sleep policy but have it set to never sleep. When away from home I'll manually switch off wifi but I am housebound at the moment so perhaps that's why I've noticed the wakelock.
Anyone have any views ?

CM10: What is a reasonable percentage of "deep sleep"

Looking at my battery stats I'm troubled by how little the phone is sleeping. Consider:
13 hours on battery
1 hour screen on
6 hours deep sleep
That means that for the 12 hours I want using my phone, it only spent 1/2 of that time in deep sleep.
Shouldn't that number be 90+%? Can anyone help me figure out which app is keeping the phone awake?
Sent from my Amaze 4G using Tapatalk 2
It's impossible to know how much it should be sleeping without any further information.
I recommend grabbing Better Battery Stats and finding out what is causing the wakelocks.
Well, BBS just says that the wake locks were being thrown by the network (ie. rx_wake) which didn't really help me. I don't really know how to use BBS to determine what app is causing a problem.
Moreover, how do I even know there IS a problem if I don't have an answer to my original question (what's reasonable?).
So, I'll re-ask. When the phone isn't being used at all, what percentage of that time should one expect it to be in deep sleep?
Sent from my Amaze 4G using Tapatalk 2
Given the highly variable nature of battery reports, it seems that installed apps makes a huge difference as to how much the phone sleeps.
Goto the Processes tab in BBS, and see if there's a rogue app running in the background. I know the Amazon App Store loves to run even after I close it, same with Facebook.

[Q] NLP Wake Locks

I'm getting some pretty bad wake locks.
It started months after installing JellyBeans19, so I know it isnt JB19 causing the wakelocks. It looks like they started after installing skype, but after uninstalling skype they are still here, Fast forward a few weeks, Installing JellyBeans20, wake locks still there.
If you see in my attachments the cause of the wake locks are NLPWakelock and NLPCollectorWakelock and there are only a few threads on XDA that talk about it, but no one seems to have an answer.
Anyone have an Idea of how to stop these wakelocks? Its really killing my deep sleep. Instead of going to sleep and waking up 8 hours later with only a 5% drain its now draining about 15% in the same time period
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2275316&page=2 this might have something that might help in it.
