Desire 610 - HTC Desire 610

I'm running out of places to go to and well, I have a simple problem with the phone itself.
I left the phone charging overnight and this morning I went to take it out and it was off. I tried turning it on, nothing happen. I tried plugging it to my USB charger than my other wall charger, nothing. I took the back off and checked the battery, nothing significant that I could tell had changed.
Some background, the touchscreen is a bit weird, the way left side of the screen does not respond, it was like that when I got from a friend. There are currently four hairline cracks (from dropping it multiple of times.). Everything else I have one seemed fine, though.

Well, the left side of the screen not responding is a problem with the digitizer, which tracks your fingerprints, telling the phone basically what to do when you touch the screen, but does the charging light go on when you plug it into a charger? If it does, its probably just the screen itself, which means you need a new screen, if it doesn't go on, its probably more than just a screen repair you looking for

Also, dropping it multiple times does have the chance of damaging some important internal stuff

The charging light does not go on, which was something did notice unplugging it.

Yeah like I said, its more than just a screen replacement your looking for. It would be less time and money to just get a new phone honestly

Lumia keeps locking up

Has anyone experienced their Lumia locking up?
It's happened to me three times in three days now. The screen is off and the handset unresponsive - all calls go straight to voicemail. The only thing I can do is hold the power button for ten seconds to re-start it. The battery has loads of charge (86% on the last lock up) so I don't think it's a power issue.
It's not great having to keep checking to make sure that it's still running and I'm not missing calls.
I have a similar issue. Sometimes lock wakes the phone to a black screen. The buttons are still responsive but nothing fixes it save a reset. Really hope this is a software and not a hardware issue.
---------- Post added at 04:54 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:22 PM ----------
I've looked into the issue a bit more and although this probably isn't what is happening to you, using third party or rapid charge chargers create a current problem that requires restart. This should be fixed in the next update (hopefully). May I ask what hardware revision your device is?

Here's a weird problem

The roommate's Photon she gave to her son as a gaming device. So of course I put a boatload of games on it for him. He played it steady for almost 2 weeks straight and almost all of his waking hours. One night I put it on the charger. Screen would not light up. Left it on the charger over night, still nothing the screen doesn't light up at all, but the bottom buttons do. Would that mean the screen is burnt out?

Wellp. Just some basic troubleshooting before id go as far as saying the screen is burnt out. Do the buttons provided any vibration feedback? Does the screen? Do you see a green charging light by the earpiece? Have you pulled the battery? Have you tried pulling the battery, plugging it in, and then putting the battery back in so it charges only?

Yeah, have done that with the battery, numerous times and various ways. The lights on the bottom come on, when the power button is pressed but they do not vibrate. Screen doesn't come on. Seen small red light, seen a white light and have only seen a green light for a moment when it's plugged into computer, but not the wall charger. Oddly enough the computer picked it up and opened it's internal folder.

So, lets get this straight really quick.
[√] Your lights work
[√] Your phone is recognized
[ ] You have Feedback on touch
Well, sounds to me(i dont repair phone hardware very often) that the cable inside the phone that connects the screen to the board, could have been severed/pinched or completely disconnected. I would say shake it gently to listen for rattles, but you will hear a few if the photon has some age to it, thats normal.
If you have the tools, and at this point have not much to lose, then your best bet would be to crack open the phone(not literally of course)
Seeing how it sounds to me the phone is free and clear aside from the screen, this could do more harm then good, the cables inside the phone sever very easily.
Id look up on google to see if maybe you are able to find a toolkit for repairing smart phones, and also a schematic of the phone(not likely to find one unless you work in an authorized mobile repairphone center)

---------- Post added at 08:12 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:09 AM ----------
Oh one last thing to try before cracking open the phone. When you hit the power button and the lights come on. Try touching your finger along the lower left side of the screen(where the lockscreen slider is) and check for any feedback.

Awesome. Best of luck with the repairs. hopefully all it is is a disconnected cable. Parts aren't to expensive for the Photon, and ebay will be your best friend if you run into anything else. If you need anything else, shoot me a pm or reply here. I tend to roam the forums when im not busy with work, my car, or otherwise.

G5 power button stops working. Fingerprint scanner stops& disappears in settings

Power button / fingerprint scanner just stopped working on my LG G5 yesterday.
Don't know if it's related or not, but it seemed like I had just wiped the phone clean with a Wet-Nap just prior to the button failure.
Weird, because I've been using Wet-Naps to frequently clean all of my phones for years,
and never had an issue before. I attached a pic of a Wet-Nap for reference below.
Also, when I go in to SETTINGS and search FINGERPRINT, nothing comes up in the SETTINGS for adding or removing fingerprints.

As of this morning:
-the "fingerprint" option has returned to my settings
-the fingerprint scanner will unlock and turn on the phone again after going through the setup process again
- the power button will NOT turn OFF the phone's screen anymore
Anyone else having similar issues ???
Any explanations ????
(my LG G5 is 100% stock and unmodified)
same issue here, factory data reset still not working. Support apparently has not experienced this yet
Same here. Fingerprint unlock still works but zero life in the button itself. Resorting to double tap to wake/sleep, but pretty irritating.
I have a little dent near the button, maybe I dropped it, not sure...
I just got this problem today after tmobile pushed the latest software to my phone a couple of days ago.
Had this happen to me today. First g5 says unable to use fingerprint, if this persists, restart phone. It did, and I did, to no avail. Then the option was gone from settings, power button worked to wake, but no scan, and had to use pattern. Pulled battery for ten mins, same. Cleared all caches, same. Then when I frankly went to resort to a factory reset I was told I had 27% battery and needed at least 30% to reset. So I swapped batteries to my spare and boom, all was working, and has been for about twenty hours now. I put my old battery in my phone and the problem was back, swapped back, back to perfect working order. I have two spare batteries for a totally of three. 2 work fine, and the other brings back the problem. I trashed it. How a battery can correlate to this, I'm not sure, but it worked for me...
Omg same thing. Ever since t mobile put a update my fingerprint was not working. Then it wont show up in the settings. Now fingerprint showed up and i fixed it. Now power button doesn't work and I can't take screen shots
Same here on my H850.
I also cleaned my phone by using some wet naps and after a couple of days the button did not recognize every click but still had some live.
Now the button is completely unresponsive. But the finger print scanner is working flawless.
If this is firmware related, the button should still work in TWRP while it might be broken on the real system, right
BTW did someone else fix this by changing the battery beside the one who post this solution ^^ ? And did someone try to turn on the phone when it's powered off? Just in case, does this phone start while charging or connected to the Computer ?
Kind regards from Germany

That is a link to how to turn it on without the power button.
The same problem occurred to my G5. Everything was working fine last night, but when I woke up the power button and the fingerprint scanner are not working. The options for the fingerprint lock are also gone in settings. Does this problem go away on its own? What were your solutions to it?
Hey !
What i tried to do is to replace the button myself.
Piece part is easy to find on the internet, and, with the correct set tools, the phone isn't very hard to open.
However, if replacing the button makes the power button working again, it didn't bring the fingerprint sensor to life (No't the hardware Sensor, and no't the settings menu option)
See I have the same problem just woke up and it stopped working only mine still does the fingerprint and will still wake when pushed but won't shut off when pushed, not loose and hasn't been dropped or gotten wet. Happened shortly after an update, any idea how to fix it?
guys how to enable double tap to sleep?
Also am not surprised you got broken power buttons, I already noticed on my G5 it doesnt feel well made and liable to break.
can you guys tell the production date?
6xxk?
i got a g5. i'm aware because someone i know bought g5 and it's power button died in 2 months. and came back to life with no reason lol
i wont even press that button... i think lg will start producing good phones(built q) in lg g7
Try the app "Wave to Unlock" it uses the proximity sensor to lock/unlock the phone.
Works like a charm, if you tune the app well.

I know, I never said it's something you enable.
My power button also died, but it was pretty easy to fix. I just took apart the phone and cleaned the contacts with rubbing alcohol. It seems to be a design flaw where the pressure connections between the back panel and the mainboard are not solid enough.
The entire procedure took less than 10 minutes. Remove sim tray, remove battery, remove the 2 screws you find. Slip an old credit card between the outside of the case and the inside, and lift the two pieces apart. See the teardown on iFixit for better instructions.
I am seeing the same issue as of recently. The fingerprint is working fairly consistently, but the power button is not working to turn the screen off or to turn the phone off or onto airplane mode. The phone is still fairly new and has not been dropped or dented, nor has it gotten wet or been wiped down.
Anybody find a fix yet?...

Screen Not Waking Properly

Just got the Verizon V30 and I do have AOD on. When I put the phone to sleep with power or knock off I have trouble waking it up. It appears the screen goes off totally when I flip it over or put it in my pocket. Whe I pull it out of the pocket it will not wake up with power button or knock on taps for a good 20 seconds or more.
I cannot find a setting to stop the screen for totally going off when I pocket the phone. I can confirm that I do NOT have the smart lock feature enabled. I’m just using a PIN code unlock, no facial or voice recognition. I really like the phone but I can’t have this happening every time I take it out of my pocket or turn it over on the couch.
Any ideas?
Thanks for reading.

Do you have any screen protector on the phone? Any battery saver apps or settings? In my experience the AOD is suppose to go off when turned over or put in a pocket. I haven't seen a way to change that. Mine might take a couple seconds to awaken, but never 20 seconds.

I have my since December from last year and only now it started to behave like that.. I don't know if it is a software issue or hardware issue of some kind. I've tested the sensors and they appear to be fine.. I will try to do a backup of my data and perform a hard reset to see if it helps, but I'm not counting on it...
I don't use AOD. Just try it to reproduce the problem. Maybe my V30 get the same problems after long term use of it.
The only problem i get random with screen is, that after a restart the colors get crazy there are not normal after enabling Comfort View all get back normally but it is a other story.

I did some tests (issue of being a former Senior QA Engineer). I've tried disabling the AOD and the same thing happened. What I just did is disabling the Knock-On feature.
I need to test it more thoroughly but the issue didn't happen after that.. YET. I need to go somewhere, with the phone in my pockets for a longer period (even though by now I should've seen the issue again) just to be sure and even trying to enable the Knock-On back again.. But let's see..
As for the colors, I really can't say much because I've never used the comfort view feature (I usually just dim down the brightness at night and that's all).
Yeah test it i will it do too. I enabling the AOD and say you next day when i get some problems.
I testing AOD since yesterday and dont get any problem until now.

I still need to try the Comfor Color to see if it happens here. Is only that I always forget to try.
With mine the AOD worked well since day one. I did some things that seemed to have fixed somehow...
I've removed the device from the case I was using (a simple thin one). gave it a good cleaning, forced the power button for a while because I was feeling it was getting stucked. It seemed to keep showing issues HOWEVER, after I disabled the Knock-On feature, left it off for a while it stopped to have issues. I enabled it again and now it is working perfectly... I don't know if it was a coincidence or a sum of all factors.. but now it seems to be working...

Touch problem on wireless charger

Did anyone faced issue - on wireless charger, screen touch response is bad or weird to operate. Note: it happens only if i enabled high touch sensitivity option.
YES!!!
I haven't tried shutting off the screen sensitivity though. I just got a wireless car charger/cradle, so now I have a reason to be using my phone while it is wirelessly charging. To me it seems to be related to the section of the screen. The top half of the screen seems to miss occasional touches, but that even happens when it's not charging sometimes. Bottom half of the screen is OMG awful. Missed touches, extra touches, touches randomly off in some weird direction, long presses when I didn't long press, moving/dragging when I didn't move. Try typing on the keyboard if you want a fun time. It took me *SEVEN* attempts to type "Here". It kept grabbing the wrong keys, hitting the spacebar in the middle of the word, just bizarre random stuff. I couldn't even recognize what was being typed...
that's not a bug my friend - that's an issue normally associated with a cheap wireless chargers or non-OEM wireless charger.
Tried this on my 9+ with a Ravpower fast charger and have no issues with touch screen sensitivity or typing on the keyboard.
Yes! Holy ****!t, thought I was just imagining things. I experience it with my OEM 2018 Convertible wireless fast charger.
Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
Yeah, happens with me when I use a cheap wireless charger.
I use an iottie fast wireless charging cradle in my car and often the touch screen is finicky. I haven't tried turning off touch sensitivity.

Do you know what scientific or engineering principles are causing this to happen? Is the electromagnetic field generated by the induction coils somehow interfering with the screen's capacitive interaction? I have only used my finger. I should try a stylus to see if there is a difference.
---------- Post added at 03:54 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:48 PM ----------
I have a developer option turned on to draw a small dot to indicate where you touched the screen. Yesterday I was watching as I repeatedly touched the screen in the same spot. I did not move my finger from that spot. Just lifted and tapped over and over. The dot drawn moved around quite a bit. Mostly high or low, by about 1/2". The phone was somehow getting false readings about where I was touching. No wonder I had such issues with the keyboard. I have noted that pressing harder with my normal use, *does* improve its ability to sense the touch accurately. I was not really testing that with the repeated touches though.

you have to ask yourself two things;
1. is screen touch response happening while it was on wireless charger?
2. or is screen touch response happening while using your phone regularly even without not on charger?
if your answer is #2 or both #1 and #2, you should contact where you bought and exchange it. However, if your issue is #1 only, I would try to use different wireless charger to test and see.
Also keep in mind that Exyons version fo S9/S9+ has plagued with touch screen issues (i do believe this is also officially confirmed by Samsung);

For my car, I just leave the phone in the wireless charging cradle, since I don't use the phone while driving, then if I need more than incidental contact with the screen while it's in the cradle, I just unplug the power source and the touch screen goes back to normal behavior. Annoying, but not unworkable.
I prefer the wireless charging because of past phone experiences where the charging port got damaged from needing to plug/unplug the phone so often. Unplugging the power source for the cradle is easy and not so likely to damage anything.
I had a fun one today I took my phone *off* the wireless charger and the touch screen went crazy. The dot showing where I was touching at the moment, was flickering down by the home button like it was the fire button on a video game. However, I wasn't touching the screen at all. So I shut the screen off (because no matter where I touched it just ignored me and kept mashing the home button). Then tried to turn it back on and nothing would happen. Normally when I get stuck like this I put it on the charger and it forces the screen on. I did that and the screen came on but it still wouldn't take my touch. So I finally had to reboot.
Did anybody was able to put the finger on the problem about touch issue with wireless charging?
(Finger on the problem...... did you get it..ok ok, need more beer)..
Again, we are taking about problem #1-: screen touch response problem happening only while it is on wireless charger!)
How does a "cheap" or none OEM wireless charger would affect the Touchscreen?
Mag field too strong? Android software disable touch while wrls/charging?
Can we lower some parameters on the phone trying to alleviate the issue?
I normally pick up my phone from the charger to use it, but out of curiosity, I just tried it on the charger, and have no problems. The charger is a Pleson Fast Charge model C500.
Try with high touch sensitive enabled. You might get issue.
