[CAPPS] modified C-apps (only theme engine and core) - Android

Hey guys
Since Cyanogen released the C-apps official from CyanogenOS to CyanogenMod, i tried them for BlissPop (update: RR 6.0.1 Marshmallow) as well and i instantly noticed that the new Truecaller or whatever that crappy app is called, doesn't work at all. i was unable to get calls or to make a call. Since i have a 1+1 and a 1+2 running blisspop + ak kernel + v4a, i tried the official capps package on both devices and both failed to work properly. But since i clearly wanted to use the new theming engine, i decided to make a modified version for people that didn't want to use either audioFX nor the new callerUI.
UPDATE:Before you flash it, be aware i can't garantuee that this package will work for any other device that is cm-based, but i've tested it so far on my Oneplus 1, 2 and 3 running RR, AICP, cm13 nightlies and temasek. On the mentioned roms it works like a charme Nevertheless it SHOULD work on any device running a CM-based rom 5.0 to 6.0.
These are flashable .zip's and can be applied via flashing in TWRP.
for CM12/12.1-based roms ONLY:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_IGOHLzTGRbN1BFWVVwVW5aSGs/view?usp=sharing
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24269982086997555
for CM13-based roms ONLY
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24591000424945408
This package only contains the following apps properly working:
-AmbientCore
-AmbientUpdater
-CMLogger
-CyanogenStats
-DeviceManager
-ThemeChooser
-ThemeStore
What has been removed:
-AudioFX
-GalleryNext
-Dialer-Next
-InCallUINext
-TruecallerCM
I modified the updater script to get it work properly. Even if you delete the apk above, the original package will try to flash them and WILL automatically delete the old dialer / audiofx and so on.
My package won't do that. It will only install the above mentioned apps and will leave the rest like the dialer and will remove the old themechooser and replace it with the new one.
All credits for the apps and the original package goes to CyanogenMod and CyanogenOS Team to bring us the new theming engine finally to non cOS running cm-based roms.
Original link for downloading the full C-apps package: https://cyngn.com/c-apps
Since there is always someone who will mention it, i do it first and i know there is already a thread for the CyanogenOS apps, but i wasn't happy with it so far so i made a lightweight version of the original, above mentioned C-apps from Cyanogen.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/flashable-apps-cyanogen-os-12-apps-t3104960
All credits for the hard work for his brilliant work goes to @FaserF and all people/teams mentioned in his thread.
Most of the bugs you will find, you will also find in the original C-apps package since i only modified the updater script and some other stuff and delete unnecessary apps from it.
If you have questions i guess there are better and more skillful people like @FaserF to answer it. Nevertheless i try to answer all questions as good as possible.
Feel free to share and use this.
Cheers
Mike

You're welcome. IF you will continue your cApps packages, maybe you will find the fix for the in-app themer there. your packages contains much more cOS apps than the (finally) original.
My modified package works on all my devices (Sony Z1C, 1+1 and 1+2) no bugs with the screencast or in-app themer so far.
cheers

I dunno what to say about that. I tested the screencast app works for me on several different devices for now. I tested it on my OPO and OPT as well on a sony xperia z1 compact, samsung s5 with cm12.1 and other devices. i couldn't reproduce that error on all these devices at all.
Since i've done nothing in particular on modifiying the screencast app, try to flash the normal c-apps provided by cyanogenmod at let me hear if the error persists. If so it is clearly a problem with the compatibility with your device and the c-apps.
Don't forget to make a nandroid backup in case you will get new errors with the normal c-apps.
Cheers

I tried that before this version was unable to place a call. So then I came to this. N currently em on blisspop v 4 on g3 but its OK em Happy with that screen cast is not that important as compared to new theme engine.
And thanks for your time. [emoji4]

Really a HUGE thank you! DialerNext (or what is it called) it's really a nightmare! They should really check on that! Stock dialer works fine!

so it works with the latest cm13 nightly?

It should be, still using it. try it out and report back please if possible.

Thread has been updated. latest modified c-apps package included for CM13 nightlies and CM13-based roms.
Let me know if the package is running fine with the rom of your choice (again only cm12 / 13 based).

since i don't know what agesis is and you didn't provide a link for it and i am not that advanced with android portations (since c-apps modifying was pretty easy), i would say not at first glance.
And i don't port stuff for specific devices and roms as well. only for the devices i own.
the modified c-apps for CM13 only works, because it is non-device specific, only for CM13 nightlies. I just modded the manifest and updater script and deleted unnecessary apps from the package to get it properly working for every other cm-based rom, so ppl can use the COS13 theme engine, which (in my opinion) is much better for theming ( because of single app theming).
Provide me a link and i will look at it, but like i said, mostly i will not port the mentioned agesis. Sorry.
Cheers

Since it is an integrated feature specially made for this rom and it belongs to another dev team, it is too much of a work to port those things for another custom rom.
Also it may interfere with other doze / hybernate options that are already integrated in other custom roms as well.
So no i can't and will not port this feature to somewhere else.

Codename Android is a fully open source rom that focuses on speed, usability, and getting every feature that we can get CRAMMED in there :_con: .

What it is not:
I do not claim any thing special about the code other than some simple changes to make it work on the R800x. Either FXP built it (if it's a port) or it's code from CNA/Koush/freexperia or anybody else who has contributed to the CM9/Android repos.
I have made a few changes to the CNA vendor tree to add in a the ability to build zeus, changes to device/semc/msm-7x30-common to allow the semc_ota_from_target_files to work, I changed the libs in (my own) vendor/semc/zeus to be R800x libs and I removed the storefront from the proprietary files list in device/semc/zeus
KeiranFTW's CM9 kernel is recommended, it's included in all the zip files (source)
Now, onto the good stuff.
What Works:
Data
Calls
Wifi
GPS
SMS
Accelerometer
MMS (thanks chrono!)
What Doesn't Work:
ALS (Disabled by Keiran in kernel)
Bluetooth Media Audio (Thanks chrono!)
Video Recording (Thanks Neoandgeo for pointing that one out)
Facebook account syncing (Thanks DoubleByte) -- Note facebook account syncing looks like it's a problem within 4.0.4 framework...
Looks like there's an issue with navigation buttons the the R800x, looking into it.
What Kernel to use:
Use DFK-CM9 kernel (it's included in each zip) so far that seems to have the best balance of battery life & speed.
Anything else that doesn't work, lemme know, I'll add it to the list.
Link to CM9/CNA Files
What's in it:
1) 05/06 "lite" build (what you'd get from building it from scratch)
2) 05/05 "Full" build (added in some necessary apps, like messanger, music from cm9, etc.)
MAKE SURE TO INSTALL OVER A CM9 BUILD, OR HARDWARE KEYS HAVE ISSUES (DO NOT WIPE DATA WHEN INSTALLING)
Steps to do a install:
1) Download & copy to sdcard
2) reboot recovery,
3) MAKE A NANDROID!
4) wipe dalvik/cache
5) install from sdcard.
Thanks to Ridder215215, a complete guide on how to install CM9 (just replace the link in line 2 with the link above)

Nope, I'm gonna make this side-by-side with CM9. (And i'm gonna get started on another one soon if cj360 doesn't beat me to it ) (In fact i'm making the latest CM9 now)
I am sure this has already been asked but am I to assume that as it is based off off CM9 that the touchpads will not work? The only thing holding me back from all the other CM based ROMs is that I heard that touchpads do not work as that is part of the Sony Ericcson framework... Anyway besides that... thank you for the ROM is looks great... also I recognize the wallpaper on the screenshot and I know its a music band but what is the name of the group?

Actually, this one isn't based off CM9. It's as AOSP as possible (no CM9 additions in it )
But yeah, touchpads are still iffy, and the band is Demon Hunter.
This is definitely going in my list of what to try once I can install custom kernels! This looks SO cool!
Pax, without you we r800xers would not have much.. thank you!!!
As always pax, well done sir.
Just to let those who are unaware know, in Advanced Testing in the Settings menu, Spare Parts settings force closes the Settings menu, as does Development settings.
Pax, you said, in your CM9 thread, that the T-Mobile Theme Chooser had been added to the source, right? Do you know if it's working properly, and do you plan on sticking it in CNA, or just in CM9?

Just CM9, it'd take a ton of changes to the framework to implement the theme engine into cna.

EDIT: Uploading Full version now (full version has music & messanger added in, i might add others in later.) it's second in the queue behind newest CM9 & mediafire says it's gonna take forever & then some. stupid slow internet.

However I would hate to try and merge this into my current source tree, imagine the conflicts!
Seriously though, I'll be watching their git like a hawk now

+1 regarding the bugs noted. Originally I thought it was because Spare Parts wasn't installed, but it still FCs after Spare Parts is installed.
Is anyone else having a problem with the dictionary calling almost every word misspelled? Swype still detects the right words, but all my words are underlined in red. This is after flashing the newest, didn't stay long enough on the first version to notice.

To be honest, this is not tablet mode at all, it has nothing to do with silly build.prop hacks. This is the first and only Android rom to feature true Hybrid mode. This rom lets you scale and project every app, every widget, even systemcomponents individually. Remember, android is modular, everything is an app: Lockscreen, navigationbar, dialogs, popups, keyboards, widgets, and your regular apps of course. Apps have the capability to switch into various designs or layouts according to the device they run on. This can result in a complete new experience as many apps will transform to the better.
Now for every element that you like chose a mode (PhoneUI, Phablet/Nexus-7UI, TabletUI) and/or a size. You are 100% independent of the system DPI which runs nicely in whatever value it has been assigned to. You do not need to boot your phone into a certain DPI. Neither will most of the changes you apply require a reboot. You will not suffer from the myriads of troubles which normally haunt you under build.prop tablet mode. Your market, phone, etc. will all work, apps won't shrink on you unless you shrink them yourself. This project will entirely transform your device, but retain the aesthetics and the feel of your phone.

If you have an issue and you want to call our attention, here's what you do:
Try everything you can, find solutions for yourself. Wipe caches, revert all your settings you have made, go back to your stock Kernel, factory reset if you have to or reflash the rom. Assume that the issue is on your side and try your best to isolate it.
Search this thread and Cyanogenmods aswell (its our base) for possible reoccurences of your issue and hopefully solutions that may have come up.
If you think the issue is important enough that we should cease our work and look into it, post your issue, BUT ...
... stay friendly, do not demand anything, do not threaten
... explain your issue as precise as you can, name the exact apps and conditions that cause trouble, help us to replicate the issue right away. If we can't there's no way we can fix it and your post will simply clutter the thread
... collect evidence, keep in mind this is a developer thread so even if you are not one, do us the favor and research how to record logcat. logcat is the single most important help you can give us to resolve your issue.

Thanks but it's ok, if he wants to post his Rom I'm ok with that. My Rom is bugging me so much at the minute as I can't get native WiFi tether to work.
Before I just change a value in framework and it worked. But this time it won't. Plus I am not able to base it on fxp or able to port the latest PA to our ray
So to sum it all up, I guess it would be a good thing if he releases it. Then hopefully we will have a near enough fully working pa Rom.

People asking about fingerprint support on CM12:

Well like fattire posted, nobody has fingerprint going yet, there are just some patches in CM but the layer between CM and the kernel is missing. So seems like a lot of work to get it going. I'd say, wait till september until we have android M, that comes with fingerprint stuff.

All credits go to @apascual89 , I'll be managing the Trltexx thread for him.
Alright, nice to get thread for thread for that awesome rom!
And now when I can report bug, I tell you one right now, when you use SlimRecents, and disable "Show only running apps" (dont remember if thats correct name for it but I think you know what I mean), there is force close when I go to recents. But if I enable that "Show only running apps", it doesn't give FC. I'm not 100% sure but I think it has something to do with brightness, it dont give fc if I havent changed screen brightness before, but it gives when I change it and enter to recents panel (and its only running app there). But anyway great rom, and seems to be bug free for me! Except that SlimRecents

Good to see U pick up the gauntlet my friend, seeing how unceremoniously the other chap just threw in the towel (I'm sure he has his reasons) I am trying to use Multi boot, so will definitely give this ROM a shot ... one thing if I may, how does this ROM differ from CM Remix ... I know, I ought to flash and find out for myself, but if U could give a general idea, I'd appreciate it .. thank U.
Felicitations yet again for bringing Temasek to Note Snapdragon.

I would appreciate it if you could upload a bug report, and paste it in pastebin and send the link.
Update: I tried to reproduce using the information and I have been unable to reproduce the force close.
I would recommend that you try to do a clean install of the latest build and also make sure that another mod isn't interfering (Xposed).
If someone else is able to reproduce this issue with a clean install then please report back.

This ROM is compiled for the N910F, If you want to try and use this ROM on the dev edition I would recommend you make a backup, though it's not supported.
As always you are responsible for anything that might go wrong if you do decide to flash this ROM.

Both are good ROMs as I personally use both (Flashaholic), CMRemix does offer a larger set of customisation and it uses different optimisations. More doesn't have to always mean better if you aren't going to use all the features; so I will have to let you try them both and decide for yourself. It comes down to personal preference.

I didn't face any force closes with Google Chrome in floating mode however YouTube for me didn't go into floating mode so that will be noted.
As always if someone else can confirm these findings it would be great
And please do check out the second post for bug reporting!

is the floating feature you guys referring to a Rom feature or an exposed modul?

It's a ROM feature, open a app then go to recents and hold down on the label of the app which would present you with a few options one of which is the floating mode.

I'm pleased to present my MoDaCo Custom ROM for the Honor 7 PLK-L01!
READ THIS WHOLE POST BEFORE YOU START! No, really, it contains everything you need to know.
About MoDaCo Custom ROMs
MoDaCo Custom ROMs are based on official ROMs. A MCR release is designed to feel like a stock Emotion UI ROM with optimisations, tweaks and complimentary additions that enhance the user experience. The aim of a MCR is to be ultra reliable for use on an everyday device.
This ROM is part of the 'Unified Honor ROM' project - ROMs with the same changes are available for all current Honor devices.
A MCR version with a more 'stock Android' like interface is under development.
Requirements
In order to use this ROM you must have a custom recovery (e.g. TWRP) installed. The ROM is installed at your own risk. A wipe IS recommended if coming from a ROM other than MCR or stock. BACK UP YOUR DEVICE BEFORE INSTALLATION!
Features
Based on the B370 custom ROM starter template (you may use MCR as a base for your own ROM)
ROM fully optimised with the unique MCR scripts
Updated power management policies to reduce instances of 'missing notifications'
All apps in ROM updates to latest versions (a considerable saving of over 1GB on /data!)
Busybox installed
sepolicy patched boot image ready for root
selinux permissive
Removed 'icons' from /system/themes (themes no longer need to include default icons again)
MoDaCo Custom Kitchen (coming soon!)
Multi user support
Multi window support
Preloaded Stockify theme stub
Numerous other small refinements - please see the gitlab commits for full details
This ROM is completely in version control at gitlab! https://gitlab.com/u/paulobrien/projects
Want more tweaks and changes? Post your requests in the support topic.
Changelog
Please see the post below this one for the changelog.
Installation
You should install this ROM on a device that has previously been updated to the B370 release.
To install this ROM:
Download the zip file from the links below and copy to your internal / external SD card.
Restart your device in recovery mode
PERFORM A BACKUP FROM THE MENU
Select the option to apply an update zip, and select the zip file you copied to the SD card.
Important Note: As this ROM is partially deodexed, first boot can take a long time. If you have not wiped, you can check for any issues with adb logcat. Be patient!

Support
If you have a general question, please post in the topic.
Thanks
It's impossible to mention everyone who contributes to the Android community by name, but to everyone out there who does great work and shares it with us all - you have my gratitude and respect.
Future Updates - READ THIS!
By providing this ROM I am not guaranteeing that future updates will follow. Due to limits on my time and the fact that I have a large number of devices for short periods of time, it isn't possible for me to continue providing ROM updates indefinitely.
And finally...
Enjoy!

please forgive my ignorance on the matter as i really have no clue in whats goes into making sure roms etc but how hard is it to turn such roms into stock android?
i mean i think the issues most people have with the honor 7 is infact emui
again i will apologize if its a ridiculous question
on another note, would this improve battery life at all? im on B180 currently and i find the battery life to be somewhat of a disappointment.
Thanks @paulobrien nice to another stock modified ROM in the Honor 7 community.
Nice ! Another custom ROM , sounds good. My request is , if you can, to install something to increase the sound of our Honor's.
@joelk2 You can always install a launcher from Google play , I recommend Nova Launcher.
Maybe a noob question but what are the MCR scripts you mentioned?

The MCR scripts I run during the build of the ROM. They re-optimise everything for size and performance using scripts I've developed over many years.

Since this fine Piece is fully deodexed im wondering if xposed works now. Anyone tried out yet?
This build isn't deodexed, a future build will be.
I'm not sure that will solve the Xposed option, but it's something I'm looking into, along with APKtool and a number of other things.
I always want to build TWRP 3 for the 7.
Stay tuned.

Just installing the SuperSU zip should work, as the boot image is patched.
If it doesn't work, manually extract the boot.img from the and flash it using 'fastboot flash boot boot.img' and try again.

Hello there everyone my name is Jon Wesley Tranchida! I am a 21 year old android developer and lover by heart and soul and I love customizing every aspect of my android devices! That is why i am bringing to you guys my very own ROM called TranchidaRemix ROM! I hope you all will enjoy my ROM as much as i do. This ROM brings new features that you might or will both love and enjoy. This ROM is based off of ressurection remix which is 6.0.1 marshmallow. I will link the original ROM that this ROM is based off of below! Just make sure that you know i am not responsible for any damage that is caused by your device. In case something goes wrong you can always leave a message on here and i will help you out! Make sure you read everything on here twice and happy flashing! This ROM can also be used as a daily driver and will be updated weekly or monthly so happy flashing
This ROM is based off of this one located here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/development/rom-ressurrection-remix-m-t3270147
Please note this ROM has only been tested on the OnePlus One and if you use it on any other device model please do not report bugs and thank you for your cooperation
TranchidaRemix ROM v1.0 Features List:
Coming Soon!
ROM Installation Instructions:
Step 1:
Make sure you have all the files downloaded from here and make sure you save them either on your phone or your computer. If you plan on using Xposed framework you don't have to flash it as its built into the ROM by default. I have many apps in the ROM that use xposed in the full version so you shouldnt uninstall xposed if you plan on using the full version of the ROM. This ROM does come with Gapps already installed so you don't have to flash a google apps package. This ROM does come already rooted with latest supersu so dont worry about flashing supersu or magisk. This ROM also does come with busybox preinstalled so you dont have to install busybox seperately. Make sure you also downloaded the latest ROM build from here too whether you plan on using the full version, lite version, or super lite version . I will try to upload weekly or monthly builds but no promises due to work and personal life.
Step 2:
Make sure you have latest TWRP Recovery if you don't you will have to flash the custom recovery with a toolkit or some other way.
Download Latest TWRP Here:
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=673368273298954998
Step 3:
Boot into latest twrp recovery and then click on the install option. Select the ROM you prefer downloaded from here and now just install by sliding the install slider.
Step 4:
Allow up to 10 minutes for the ROM and all the other files to install and once you are booted up setup the ROM as usual and you are golden! Please check FAQ if you have any minor issues and if you need further help just message me on this thread or email me with my email that is in the contact section. ENJOY!

Thanks for bringing another rom for OPO
Wow another cool ROM
But sadly I think there maybe a problem with it and that's because you have included all the Gapps within your ROM.
Now don't get me wrong but I think its something to do with licence's and so forth and with rules of XDA that you are not allowed to include Gapps within your ROM.
Hopefully one of the senior mod will beable to correct me on this.

It shouldn't be a problem because none of the moderators told me it was an issue. Also the stock rom is COS based and that includes gapps and its very close to CM
