[ROM][MODEM][ROOT][ODEXED][DEODEXED] Indian marshmallow for all variants - X Style (Pure) Android Development

Here's a couple flashable zips.
Install instructions:
1. BACKUP
2. Factory Reset in recovery
3. flash odexed or deodexed rom.
4. Flash indian mm radio
5. reboot
If on Pure Edition flash the build.prop before rebooting.
Full ROM: indian_mm_flashable.zip
Deodexed rooted ROM: indian_mm_deodexed_rooted.zip
Rooted boot: boot_root_mm.zip
Indian MM radio: modem_indian_mm_fixed.zip
Indian LP radio: modem_indian_lp_fixed.zip
Pure XT1575 5.1.1 radio: modem_xt1575_pure_5.1.1.zip
Pure Edition Build.prop: Pure_Edition_build-prop.zip
Only flash Pure XT1575 5.1.1 radio if you want to revert back
Flash indian 5.1 modem to revert indian variants back to lp
Flash the pure edition build.prop on pure edition phones to change the model number back and to show Pure Edition in about phone. It also removes the sims section from settings

Great!!

Great work! Thank you.

Thanks A Ton Man

Since Flashing this 2 days ago, portable hotspot works and I'm not provisioned for it with my carrier!

That's great. If using the Pure Edition, should we flash all zips before booting the phone?

Flash modem AFTER rom.

Urgent help required. No signals after restore

Hi , I was running the viper rom and i did a system restore from the backup i made early a few months ago. When i booted back in to the stock rom i cant get any signal from my carrier or wifi. What do i need to do?
Did the restored ROM was working flawlessly few months back?
You should simply restore your latest known working ROM then download a fresh new version of your intend ROM and start from scratch. Don't forget to flash the correspondent boot.img file before the first reboot.

Hello,

Nothing. You already installed the newest Knox Bootloader included with the Firmware and it can not be downgraded. If you do downgrade the Bootloader you will brick your phone. You can flash "ROMS" ( not Firmwares ) all you like from previous builds meaning you can flash a Custom 4.2.2 Rom but you can not downgrade the newest Knox Bootloader you installed.

Really?
I have now the TPH beta installed, but is only a beta, and i really want to return in 4.2.2 firmware, that's absolutely a s*it.
So can't donwgrade with or without root, cannot downgrade bootloader, nothing to return to stock 4.2.2?
All the lag from 4.2 just isn't worth going back. I had to go back to my iPhone 5S until the 4.4.2 came out. Now I'm on 4.4.2 and back on my android and loving it. Never want to go back to the iPhone again.

No!! he can't use odin to flash a 4.2.2 firmware because he flash the 4.4.2 kk firmware with the new knox bootloader if he try to flash an older firmware he will brick his phone. @corrystile you can use the MegaFire v11 to go back to jellybean 4.2.2 thanks to @megalomanic14 this is a TW base rom and it work on both 19200 and 19205.

Ok so I tried this and nothing will boot up now. Was the 4.2.2 a custom rom or stock ? I have a replacement screen that cant boot into firmware 4.3 or 4.4.

A work around for the cheap screen issue booting on stock 4.3 and 4.4 is to flash phils recovery and root followed by a zip install of a custom 4.4 rom. Boots right up . Also with custom recovery I have backed up stock 4.2 firmware on a diff. mega and used that to restore on my 4.4 mega. Not a true downgrade but bootable into stock rom. Took me a long while to figure this out. Hope this helps.

Do you mean boot ? If so ; I removed battery to power off, then put it back , then hold volume down and home button and power at the same time to get into download mode. Then used Odin to flash custom recovery. I used Phils recovery. My issue began when I allowed 4.3 OTA update. I lost boot and stock recovery but could still get into download mode.

I have S3 GT-I9300.
It's probably the 10th time I am asking for help on XDA. I have been trying to install CyanogenMod and other custom ROMs from 6 months with no luck. The problem is whenever I install 1 of the custom ROM I lose my network. I have also tried flashing the modem of JustArchi with no luck. I am dying to taste a custom ROM. Have you formated modem/efs ? I personally never done that allso make sure you're on the latest [insert recovery of choice here] version? Allso how can you have imei and network on samsung based rom and not have them on CM? Check on samsung rom if imei is the same as the one behind the battery or on the box you've bought your phone.

Also next time write in Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting or General, this isn't development related, you're just experiencing android zero issues.

I dont know how I have formatted the modem/efs. I just wipe data cache before installing the rom. I am using philz_touch_6.48.4-i9300. The IMEI on the rom is same as that on the back of the phone.
Sorry I didn't notice that I posted in the wrong place. How am I supposed to move it to the right place.
This has been answered multiple times, there is a thread about that, it's all about patched kernel/modem, also, you're posting this in wrong forum, there is Q&A for that!
Use boeffla and patched modem, but first return to stock, i guarantee it will work.
Steps:
Flash stock: Stock 4.3
Flash Boeffla (sammy version): Boeffla 5.3
Flash patched modem. Modem
-> Till here you got to have your network back.
Then flash your desired AOSP ROM, and then flash a patched kernel like Boeffla (for AOSP, but watch out, there are CM and Omni based roms, so is Boeffla kernel, if you use CM, download for CM), because only patched kernel can read a patched modem. When you do that you don't have to flash patched modem again because CM/AOSP based ROMs do not wipe modem.
And remember BACKUP EFS
And if IMEI is ok you don't have to restore EFS, you only restore it when your imei is 0000... or 0049..., for Emergency calls only and Baseband unknown follow my steps.
Just follow these steps and you're good to go.
Someone should make this sticky.

Well, no, you can flash any stock rom, as long it is 4.3 based, you can see that under this thread you have many more stock, deodexed cwm falshable roms based on 4.3 by JustArchi, i linked you that because it is easier to flash in CWM then via Odin, but again, your choice.
As off Boeffla, here you can download all versions, recmmended are latest stable:
http://www.boeffla-kernel.de/index.php/2012-10-31-06-13-16
You can see there are for Samsung 4.3/4.4, and Omnirom based or CM based all the way down. (double check if you will run omnirom or cm based rom).

with a deodexed rom it makes it much easier for removing of apps for instance i was able to get rid of nearly all the htc apps, twitter and facebook... when i originally tried to do it with rom toolbox before it would only uninstall the updates and still leave the original app... also with this it should conceivably be easier to start porting roms to our phone...

I flashed RR rom, but still no IMEI
There was an error while restoring firmware partition from miui backup of twrp
why restoring firmware
reflash firmware then then the rom (clean flash)
or best would be flashing stock rom

I downloaded mi flash tool. Where to get stock firmware?
You cannot get stock Firmware directly you need to flash stock MIUI ROM to restore all partition.
for stock ROM get it from MIUI website

Let me guess, you tried to restore all partitions (including firmware) in twrp?
If yes, you need to download a MIUI ROM.
I suggest to download this and flash through TWRP. Erase data and cache. Ignore the errors. If you can't flash it, go to mounts in TWRP and mount system manually. https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=817550096634779892

Yes, exactly this happened and it showed error while recovering firmware partition.
Now, I used miui flash tool and flashed miui ROM, (It was 1.7GB) and then all ok. Imei recovered too.
Now on RR rom.

No gapps . Just clean flash and SuperSU if you want root. Do this from TWRP.

Ok. I read that on miui, after flashing suoersu, something called as lazy flasher is needed to flash, else miui won't boot.
Also, to reconfirm isn't Redmi note4x same as redmi note 4, just Chinese varient? The file I am downloading is labelled as redminote4x.
Honestly don't know. I dont root. I do any root stuff from recovery after decrypting data. Helps me sleep better at night
