Samsung ID and password - Galaxy S6 Edge Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi to all.
I'm hoping somebody might be able to help me bypass the Samsung ID and login request on this Samsung s6 edge. I did not buy this phone on eBay. I actually found this phone on the ground in a car park next to my van close to the hotel I was staying at whilst working in London. The finger print and pass lock security features were on which I've now bypassed.there was a box on the screen saying sim deactivated? If I could of I would of returned it but as I can't why let a phone go to waste.if somebody could please help I would be very greatful

I do not think anyone can legally help you, your best bet would be to return it to the carrier so they can get it to the rightful owner

I's strongly advise you contact the police, from experience they will hold the handset for a short period of time and if no one claims it then it's yours.
If there is a Samsung account on the handset can you see the email address? It might be worth firing the original owner an email letting them know you have it. It's an expensive bit of kit to lose and someone will be missing it.
That said, if you are morally fine with keeping it then check this thread out...http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/help/samsung-account-pass-galaxy-s6-t3111916

Thank you all. but no email address is showing.the phones been wiped clean with the battery reset I could return it to an 02 shop I doubt it would find its way back to the owner down in London.reset thread is unclear and doesn't seem to work once again thank you to all

IMEI numbers are linked to accounts, there is 100% chance they can find out who the owner is. If you hand it to the police and no one claims in 28 days then its yours.

ok I will look into doing that thanks again

[Q] how to bypass patternlock and email login

no
Take it to a TMO store, I doubt anyone here will be too willing to help giving the possibility that you may have a stolen device.
If it is rooted there is a way, I don't have the link, but you use adb to pull and edit one of the db's , if it is not rooted, then most likely SOL ...

i work at a cellphone repair shop. we also buy sale and trade phones. i use XDA a lot for the new android phones coming out when people have problems.
my coworker bought a vibrant from a customer that came into our store, the thing is that now the phone is patterned locked and we dont know the original email address. he said that it was working fine when he first purchased it. my guess is the customer unlocked it before my coworker played around with the phone.
anyways, no i didnt steal it. or any of that bs. we have a business license, a store front, and 99.9% feedback on ebay.
pm me if theres a way. willing to paypal for info.

if you really did buy it, then call the person up and ask them.... unless i'm mistaken if any store buys stuff from customers they're supposed to document all information in case the item has been stolen
The phone is locked regardless. There is an android bug that doesn't allow the phone to verify the google credentials after you try the pattern lock too many times. Even if if was the OP's actual phone, he'd need to either factory reset, flash a new rom to the device, or get a replacement phone.
No one here will be able to help you get past it. There were security holes that allowed people to bypass it, but Google has sinec patched those, without fixing the fundamental issue (users, their children, their friends locking them out and basically "bricking" the device for all intents and purposes).
You got got, and it's probably a stolen device (not saying you stole it, someone else could have).
If you go to T-Mobile they will ask for you account information and check the IMEI against you account. T-Mobile uses different bands as AT&T so there aren't that many people buying Vibrants up front to unlock them and use them on different carriers, TBQH. If that IMEI belongs to someone else (it's even on you contract/reciept), they won't replace the phone. They will assume it's stolen.
Maybe if you start a contract/new line the reps in the store may help you out, though.
However, contacting Samsung may yield better results, but I think the Warranty is handled by T-Mobile, unless it's a hardware defect (hardware locked devices and pattern lockouts are both software issues).
"No i didn't steal it"
LOL
:/........
Nvm, lol

yep, good call there. if the op purchased the phone he should have all of the sellers info on file.

[Q] Secondhand phone sold as new from T-Mobile?

Does someone know of a way I can tell if my phone is used or refurbished? I just got a Vibrant through a T-Mobile store and it was sold to me as new but I feel it might not be...mainly because as the rep was setting it up before handing it over the home screen icons were all scattered about and when I opened doubleTwist player to check it out there already was a device name set in the Settings menu. I tend to be mistrustful of phone carriers in general so my paranoia may be ill-founded. This is my first smartphone and I am definitely a "noob" to androids. Thanks everyone.
Could possibly be some foul play. When did you get it?
Does it have scratches?
Is it possible to call T-Mobile and ask them if the phones imei has ever been used by another sim?
Either way, if you just got the phone, ask them to exchange it for you, and tell them not to open the box, you will open it yourself.
most likely you purchased a phone from a "authorized dealer" usually in cases like that when a person buys a phone they have xx days to return it. authorized retails (some not all) will resell that "gently used" device as new. I haven't heard this happening from T-Mobile Corporate stores. Check for wear backplates, battery and surrounding area, screen and connector pins for the micro usb plug. if everything looks up to par don't worry about it.
Yeah I was a pretty annoyed that the clerk was setting up the phone and I had to tell them I wanted to see what they were doing. The phone looks new and all the accessories were still in their respective 'bags'.
I did purchase the phone from a tmo corporate store. I also posted on doubleTwist's support forum and found out that a default name (a random Star Wars or Dune character name) is automatically set if you aren't logged into a gmail account during setup, which I didn't have. The other item of concern is the pin2 code to access the Fixed Dialing Number menu is already set and I didn't do it. Calling tmobile support tonight to find out what's up with that. I'll post here what I find out. Thanks.
So I called tmobile customer support to ask about the pin2 code but it was after hours. I did find out from the user manual that you DO have to get this code from your carrier if your sim card supports it. I also successfully registered (after several attempts) my phone with the IMEI code on the Samsung site. I think I've been a little paranoid about this and actually received a new phone like I should have. Doesn't hurt to be a little skeptical though, eh? Thanks again to SamsungVibrant and boystuff for your responses.

[Q] Warranty and service centres

Hi
Has anyone had any experience with service centres? I ask as I might see if I can get a replacement screen for my SGS2. It has yellow on the left hand side and its really bugged me. It doesn't seem to be a software problem, I have tried lots of firmwares and tricks but nothing.
I'm not sure if I would be eligible for a repair as I have been flashing different firmwares, I have a USB Jig so I reset the custom binary counter.
It was a three (UK network) phone, no branding on phone or box, but a few extra apps on the phone. I wiped that firmware and never made a backup It was carrier locked so I needed to get root and unlock it with hellroz's app.
Do you think I would need to reset it to a state it was when I first got it (re-lock it to carrier even)? If not about how much would they charge for a new screen? (someone might have paid for a similar service)
Regards
Mike
If you're not running stock firmware, reflashing same is recommended before you try to get warranty service. Some people have sent rooted phones or phones that haven't had the flash counter reset to service centers & had them repaired regardless, and just as many have ended up having to pay for the privilege. Luck of the draw if you don't go back to stock/reset the counter.
As to how much they'll charge you, that will obviously vary depending on country I imagine. Hopefully someone from the UK reads your post who has had a screen replaced & lets you know.
Is it wishful thinking to think they will fix it for free as its a manufacturing fault?
I bought it on eBay so I don't really have any proof of purchase so that could be a problem. I will phone them up tomorrow, I'm not very hopeful though!
I tried to sign up for a samsung account online, its being strange. I got into my account once but it had no where I could register my product. Most of the time it is saying that this is the first time I have logged into the account and to update my details, then I do that and it says email duplicated settings not saved and logs me out again. I will have to try signing up again. It also asks me for a ID and password for the Samsung UK account but I just skip it as I don't have one (I'm in UK)
I would contact the buyer and see if he can email you the receipt. The worst can happen is that they will say no. I have given my phone in for repair to Carphone Warehouse. Depends where you live. But if your in London Oxford Street CWH is recommended.
Let me know if you encounter any problems.
Thanks

[Q] Found Xperia Ray, how to return?

I found a Ray on the ground, and want to return it to owner.
Unfortunetly, its SIM locked with a PIN (and slightly waterlogged.)
I have already reported it to Telenor, the provider in Norway.
They said they would try to contact the owner, that was an hour ago.
I can see 98 missed calls, the owner probably tried even more but the battery was dead when I found it.
Is it worthwhile or even possible to bypass the PIN abd see the missed call numbers from the lockscreen? Or is better to just keep waiting?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus
Take a visit to local police station, they usually have special place for found things, maybe the owner has already left a message there or something.
Thanks, but I got it figured out.
I popped my SIM in, got access to their phonebook and was able to track down the owner and return it.
Please close thread!

your a good guy!
usually if people found a phone somewhere on the floor, they will stole it

Sorry for the newbie question....

I purchased a moto z force on ePay. The iMEI number is ok (not stolen) with Verizon but the seller wiped it and now will not answer any if my emails . The Google security feature requires the past email and PW are needed to continue passed the beginning setup. Zero cooperation from seller... and PP and eBay won't help because it was as described ( or not disclosed). Is there any way to get passed this issue or did I get a brick or case parts. Can it be reflashed or some other reset be done? Thank you in advance for any help with this.

see http://www.rootjunky.com/motoreaper-frp-removal-tool/
Bypassing this by just anybody would defeat the purpose of this valuable safety feature and I would hope it is not possible. If Google did not provide a bypass to the legitimate sources (carriers) then shame on Google for not doing this. I would check and see if Verizon might be able to help you since it is not blocked and the owner who sold the phone to you would not be reporting the phone as stolen. Perhaps bring your receipt with IMEI number on it and they should be able to verify that you are legit and unlock your phone. Ebay should be tighter on this kind of thing!!!
removal tool.
It will not allow a download unless you are enrolled in a course of some kind. Anyone have that tool or other fix?

I was able to download some and they did not work. Paid a service to do it and they could not do it either. Appears to have taken a new security update
so far it is unbreakable it seems.
Any ideas?

If it was described as a working phone and the seller is ignoring you. Then file a complaint with ebay about the auction. Since you clearly can't use the phone. Take pictures of the device lock and when you file the complaint you will need to add them.
Yes I can ...and have time to do that but I was hoping to get this working because the price was very good. If not I will do that as a last resort.
