Honor PLK-L01 headphones volume - Honor 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there a way to increase the maximum headphones volume ?

Yes buy another headphone i am already on samsung one and soud is awesome

i use Denon AH-C50MA and sound is great

What's you headphones impedance? Mine piston 2's are loud even 3 volume bars @ 16ohm

Well i don't care about my earphones impedance as my previous smartphone (S3) could easily drive these with louder sound.
I think i will probably give a try with Viper4Android.

I also find the Honor 7 volume levels too low. The phone speaker as well as the headset.
Call volume is low as well but you can fix that by setting it into speaker mode.
The low headset volume annoys me the most. (I use HQ headset)
I found the service mode menu and had hoped i could increase headset volume levels there.

Sadly, there is no option. I tried some apps from the playstore but they didnt do anything.
I'm currently (officially) participating in the Android 6 Beta so am not rooted or anything.
Is there a way i can increase the level already?
Or maybe once I have the final Android 6, can i root/unlock the phone and increase the volume in another manner? I want to stay on the original roms, dont want to flash something else on my phone.

Anyone else finding this annoying as well and has a fix?

I am running 80ohm sennheiser dt880 and the volume is high enough for me so every mobile headphone with 32ohm should be easily powered to painful volume . Not sure which media you play, but if you need higher volume i suggest a mobile dac as headphone amplifier

Headphones Too Loud

Not sure if I'm just getting old, but dang the volume seems way too loud when I try and use headphones on my GT 10.1 Wifi. Even on the lowest level. Any way to lower the default volume level for headphones?
Yes, this is a volume level software defect stupid Samsung engineers screwed up. Its mind boggling how they tested this and thought to themselves "Yes, this is good".
Going from mute to the lowest volume level is ridiculously loud in a quiet room when using either the speakers or head phones. The funny thing is going to the next 2 or 3 steps up barely increases the volume. Its all screwed up.
It really does suck and Im not sure Samsung has any plans on fixing this.

If you rooted flash a kernel that supports voodoo sound, then download voodoo control or voodoo control plus and lower the headphone amplifier.
That does not work. Voodoo control does not work to lower the volume. Yes there is an option to lower the gain on the amplifier but it does not work and its very buggy when you map the hardware volume buttons to the voodoo gain control. I tried it.

Voodoo control works for me. Rooted with Starbust UEKME and pershoot's kernel. I have custom IEMs with an input sensitivity of 119dB at 1mW. I have to set it to -55 dB on Voodoo.
ya but thats just for headphones. Does not change the speakers volume.
But it would work for the op as he was talking about headphones
Sent from my GT-P7510 using xda premium
For some reason I don't have this problem. I have never used lower volume then about 25%, usually it's at about 50%. BTW my hearing is just fine. I use a-JAYS Three headphones.
I think the impedance of the headphones plays a role in this. Headphones with lower impedance are louder.
Yes impedance definitely plays a role but the problem is with standard headphone impedance the volume is WAY too loud.
This is a big problem with the tab 10. Speakers play way too loud at the lowest volume setting....you hear me Samsung!! You hear me!!!!!
I just tried the built in speakers, one step up from muted and i can hear that it's playing very quietly if i hold the tablet normally. I need to put my ear next to the speaker to really hear enough to understand what song is playing.
So clearly my tablet doesn't have this problem.
On a standard UK rom here and my speakers appear to be fine, not too loud. Odd.

There is nothing odd about it. Your unit is exactly the same as ours. Different people have different hearing sensitivity. My hearing is excellent and above average so I can hear the music play too loud even on the lowest setting. Others will figure it is fine as hearing sensitivity varies.
The volume levels are simply all screwed up. You can see for yourself as turning the volume from 1 to the next 2 levels and the volume barely increases. Going from 1 to 2 almost does not even increase the volume at all. Going to 3 only increases it slightly then 4 and up increase at too high of levels to make up for the lack of volume increase going from 1 - 2 and 2 - 3. The levels are all screwed up. Horrible job by samsung.
I also have this issue!! The volume can' t be changed when using headphones and the volume is too loud for normal use
You can buy headphones with a volume control or a in-line volume control adapter for headphones but that still does not resolve the issue for the output to the speakers.

[Q] Volume limit audio jack

Is it possible to boot the audiovolume of my prime
the current max level aint that great.
i have a good headphone philips shs8100
with go loud with my htc legend
but my prime doesn't seem to get the same volume
does someone have the same problem?
yes. volume+ will solve that. its a true speaker boost. it also allows you to boost headphone jack volume and Bluetooth device volume. there's a thread on it in themes and apps section. in there you can go to link to the developers awaited to get it for free. or link to marketplace to purchase. bit this app does truly work. its not fake like the rest of the so called booster apps. those other apps are only glorified equalizers. this gives your true boost in volume. confirmed by using decibel meter before and after the mod. the volume increase is dramatic depending on how high you boost it. Jake sure to follow all instructions and head the warnings. if you go overboard on the boosting you can blow the speakers out..lmfao
I've been using this for months now and very satisfied. the volume is superloud and clear on my prime now.

Mate 10 low volume through 3.5-mm port (with good 35ohm headphones)

Hey there!
I'm jumping off the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 ship, as it has suddenly died with all my data (thanks, samsung, for using slow and low quality
EMMC flash memory!)
just received my Mate 10 and the key issue (if i should dismiss weak vibro) is low headphone volume.
I have high-quality 35 ohm Denon headphones that deliver outstanding sound quality, and had no problems using them with samsung devices (Note 4, S3, tablets). I usually listened to the music on 60-70% volume and it was REALLY loud).
Now, with Mate 10, I had to max up the volume, but even at 100% it's not enough. Well, its sort of ok mostly, but not so enjoyable, and many tracks say "a bit more volume please".
Is there anything that can be done? I remember that custom kernels allow increasing volume, but that means rooting. Could anyone give an advice?
What is their sensitivity? If I use it with my Hifman HE400i the volume is also a bit low. They are 35ohm and have a sensitivity of 93dB. If they are really good headphones you wont be able to use them to their full potential plugged in to a phone anyways, so it will probably be better to pair them with an external DAC/amplifier. The usb-c port can output a bit of power, so you can probably use a decent usb DAC like the audioquest dragonfly for example. I use a hegel super DAC without any problems.

sensitivity 104dB/mW.
Well, the thing is that i used them with Note 4 and galaxy s3 (both are phones) with no problems - the sound was outstanding and volume very decent.
I did some more tests and found out that volume in videos that i see with VLC player is much higher (and more satisfactory). So the port is physically capable to deliver. Maybe should try a different media player?
You could try Foobar 2000. There is a setting called replay gain in the menu that will probably be able to boost the volume.

Volume control with Bluetooth headphones

I tested on 2 pairs of bluetooth headphones, when I press the volume buttons on the headphones it doesn't control the volume of the phone. Not sure how it works but I guess there is phone volume and headphones volume? Is there a way to make headphones control the phone volume?
Headest has own volume.
If you click + or - you hear change in ear and slider (volume) on phone stay on the same level.
So when i listen Tidal i set - on phone 50% volume and adjust (louder or not) on headset.
You should explain whats about.
Tested on a different device, it is the same volume. Is there any way to unify this?
I give up. I really do not know what exactly you mean
I want when I press the -/+ on my headphones to change the volume of the phone, not change the volume of the headphones. I just want to have 1 volume.
On my previous phone, this worked fine, not sure what is the point of having 2 volumes.
Do you understand now?
Hmmm i have honor 10, xiaomi mi5, moto x play and xiaomi redmi 4a and all have 2 volume.
Hi, this is not possible on the honor 10 unfortunately. Apart from apple's products only pixels and Samsung's phones have this as far as I know.

That happened to me once, I rebooted my phone and the distortion went away:good:
I guess you're right. After the reboot doesn't make it anymore. Think it's really a bug. Hope they fix it
if it happens again just double check outdoor mode is off just in case. it sounds pretty bad, even at lower volumes.
side note, has anyone tried viper4android yet? curious to know if it runs yet since the built in ROG eq only covers from 250hz to 8khz, viper gives you 60hz to 16khz I believe
ive had the same speaker bug that resetting seems to correct
but what im wondering is if anyone knows how to increase the headphone jack volume
im almost always on max volume with how low the audio is
I've been having problems with the aux jack being distorted only in my car. That's been going on for the week I've had mine, but just last night I had really poor audio from my Bluetooth earbuds. A restart fixed it but it's becoming a big enough pain I'm considering returning it.
Edit: Using the fan attachment and the aux jack on it yields normal, staticless audio.
ASUS thread: https://www.asus.com/zentalk/thread-247148-1-1.html
I had to install the BOSE Companion App in order to increase the Volume to my BT Headphones
