[ROM][SHAMU][6.0.1_r3][MMB29M] PhotonAOSP [12/15/2015] | Layers 4.0 - Nexus 6 Android Development

Introduction:
Welcome to PhotonAOSP! Photon AOSP is a lightweight, performance/feature packed AOSP based ROM for the Nexus family of devices. The goal of this ROM and Project PhotonAOSP as a whole is to take AOSP and modify it with useful and important features that everyone loves and uses daily. Note that this ROM will never have as many features as BlissPOP, PureNexus, Pac-man ROM, etc. but will only contain necessary features such as ones found in Omnirom, Chroma, etc. PhotonAOSP delivers (and will always continue to do so) the latest AOSP source code with Google's latest security patches.

Reboot into TWRP
Make backup (optional)

Hi, look nice, but menus in customisation don't work. When I click on Nav bar or status bar options button, nothing happened

Dsp manager is crashing on both opening the app itself and with every track change in music players.

Just installed this, all seem ok.
Keep up the good work.

I love the ROM but whenever I play music in Google Play Music I get "DSP manager has stopped", is it not included in the ROM?

Honestly, DSP has been causing issues on so many devices. With marshmallow Omnirom (creator of DSPManager) ditched support for it and as a result it has became very unstable. Regardless though, I will be replacing DSPManager with a modified very of AudioFX by CM that will be fully compatible with the ROM

NOTES
SlimKat 4.4.2 Build 4
Build 4 is live! Please read the Changelog for more details including proper upgrade/installation methods, as well as notes on activating root.
Changes, Features & Fixes:
Changelog for Build 4
changelogs since stable SlimKat 3 release: 3.2 - 3.4 - 3.6 - 3.8 - 3.10
Framework: Fix LTE tile
Framework: SlimPie: turn on HA on highEndGfx devices
Framework: Add Landscape layout for ECA
Framework: Add support for QC's time_daemon
Framework: SystemUI: Remove broadcast from QH toggles
Settings: QuierHours service: call with qualified user and introduce controller
Settings: Fix possible illegal argument exception
Camera2: if camera HAL does not return valid picture formats do not show wrong values.
Device specific: several fixes and upstream. See attached changelog on the device download
Gapps: Complete rework of the gapps package. Update to Google Music, Google YouTube, Google PlayStore TRDS
Known Issues
i9100 Specific Known Issues (Build 4 as at 01/04/2014):
SDCard/Fuse Daemon issues (aka "Music Playback Bug"). On extended music play it can suddenly happen that the playback stops.
Camcorder - Zoom on 1080p mode is buggy see below for "workaround"
WiFi Direct doesn't work
General Known Issues (Build 4 as at 01/04/2014):
LTE tile: on clean flash if the first toggle of LTE tile does not work go into settings->more->mobile networks and set one time the network mode to 3g. After this the LTE toggle will work always as expected
National data roaming: If you tick the option in settings all entries get visually disabled although they still work. Do not worry about it and just re-enter the screen again and it is corrected. As long as SlimKat supports your provider this works as intended.
Notes:
If you are running on ART, and you're having issues with an app... check this list to see whether app is known to have issues with ART.
Zoom on 1080p mode "sometimes" works... if you set camcorder to 1080p, switch to camera, change res so zoom starts working again, and then switch back to camcorder... zoom will work on 1080p :silly: However, if you turn the screen off, or close and re-open the camera, the zoom will be broken again Also, once it stops working on camcorder, it'll probably stop working on camera as well until you change the resolution/picture size
4.4 mini-FAQ
Q) My recovery won't flash the 4.4 zip... aka "Status 7 error"... what do I do?
A) Get the i9100_SlimKat_4.4.2_compat_recovery zip attached below... flash it... reboot to recovery... be amazed by new TWRP recovery... then:
Wipe - Advanced - Select cache, dalvik, system (and Data if you want FULL wipe)
Install Slim ROM + Slim Gapps
Reboot
Profit!
Q) Root doesn't work!
A) From a clean build you need to enable root access for Superuser itself. This is different from some earlier versions of android (4.2 and below) in which Superuser by default had root access on a new install. To do this, go to Settings -> Developer options -> Root access. If an app attempts to request root access before Superuser itself has access, it may cause problems with that app in the future where root requests are silently denied.
Q) Developer Options? What Developer Options? I don't see that in Settings??!?
A) By default, this is conveniently hidden from view... as it does contain settings and options that can (and will) break stuff if you don't know what you're doing. If you require access to this, Settings -> About Phone... Then tap on the Build Number 7 times.
Q) How to change DPI?
A) Currently, this feature hasn't been ported... so you'll need to install Texdroider DPI from the playstore... or edit /system/build.prop and change ro.sf.lcd_density to the desired value
Q) I upgraded and lost my sim unlock, none of the unlock tools are working?
A) Unfortunately, I have nothing but Bad News™ for you Seems Samsung locked everything down and Google played along... Get a "proper" (aka carrier) unlock... or use older versions of Android... There is nothing we can do
Q) Music just randomly stops playing... and then won't work properly until reboot and/or drains battery?
A) Unfortunately, there isn't a whole lot we can do. Due to new SDCard handling and issues with FUSE, there is a strange quirk with Exynos4 devices like i9100 and n7000 where the system freaks out and dies... users have had various levels of success trying some of the following workarounds: 1. format sdcards with ExFAT (apparently can cause issues with backups and/or GPS apps??)... 2. Put all your music on internal SD...

[ROM][XT1575|XT1572][Aroma]TruPureXMM 2.9 - Fast and Smooth [5-26][MM 6.0]

Introducing
TruPureXMM
TruPureX was born from my minimalist OCD and love for my Nexus 6. Although Motorola has a reputation for not including bloat, I disagreed. I have removed all unnecessary MotoBloat while keeping the Moto features that make us love their phones so much. TruPureX is light, fast and smooth. It was built to keep the battery in mind and performance high, as well as making sure it is easy to customize to your liking.
This is my first ROM that I am sharing with the community here at XDA, so please be kind and any advice is appreciated. I hope you enjoy my rom as much as I enjoyed making it.
**Please search the thread before posting about an issue. There have been too many repeat questions.

Giving it a shot! Thanks for the contribution!
Curious what's "bugged/not functioning"... But, as of right now, this is probably the most promising and the ROM I'll probably be installing. I'm just waiting for android 6 to release for device first.

For as long as I've been using my build, I haven't noticed any issues yet. It's been my daily for the last few days since built the final build. If you do find some, please let me know.

As much as I want to, I can't at the moment. This is my first rom and I imagine it's going to be a lot to handle, let alone building two versions. Maybe later down the road I can get one out just for you

You are right! Maybe I can work something out for you guys. Lets let this settle for now and I will look into supporting an odex one for Verizon.
Installed fine and after 90 minutes everything seems to be working well with no apparent bugs/FCs/etc. I really like the minimal build, and it's definitely faster & more responsive than stock. I'm also on AT&T so can't test volte.

so far so good OP, just quick question, do you think that if we flash the custom kernel that is floating around we going to kill the experience?

In my opinion, yes. That's why I included the stock kernel. It was smoother for me when testing.
Looks promising, I'll give it a try.
Heck, my phone won't even download it! I wish I could try it. If also prefer an odexed version, because I've never understood the appeal of deodexed. It's easier to theme it, but you lose the optimization and smoothness that odexed has.

[ROM][Dec10][7.1.1]MegaPixel6P - Doing what Google should have...(discontinued)

PLEASE NOTE:
Due to the sudden random demise of my Nexus 6P (and the fact that the Pixel XL is really neat), all development of this ROM has been discontinued. It's kinda hard to make a 6P ROM without a 6P, you know?
There has been interest expressed by some members of the forum in acquiring another 6P for me to continue working on this, and for me to put a donate link in the OP.
If you'd like to contribute to this effort, Paypal donations are accepted at the following address: [email protected]
I apologize for this inconvenience, but I obviously can't control when my phone will randomly decide to die, and I can't justify spending $300+ of my own cash to buy another primary device, when the last one just decided to crap out without warning. So, it just doesn't make sense to buy another as my daily driver.

Rambling:
While I haven't released anything publicly in a while, I have actually been working on this project privately since the first release of 7.1.1 several months ago. Now that there is an official, stable build, I figured it was time to stick the finger to Google and turn on all the features we should have by default.

Do we need to flash Gapps or it's included in the rom?
Will this ROM have any mods for the enterprise wifi issue that a lot of people including myself is running into where the businesses' wifi cant connect to the new android DHCP client?
Rom looks to have a lot of goodies tho....will give it a try tonight.
As for requests.....what about transparent status and nav bar, pie control, call record?
Also, if you guys are downloading already - give me like ten minutes. I found an issue with the Settings app that I've got fixed, upload pending. It'll be live by 4:30 CST.

It is "stock-based", so all the Gapps in the Stock ROM are here. You have the option of which ones to install and remove in Aroma.

About Us:
Dirty Unicorns is a project that started out with no name. It was a project that was first based off AOKP back in the early days of Jelly Bean. In the early days it was just a one man show on one device, the EVO 3D. Since then, many others have joined the project and it has grown exponentially.
We have seen a lot of talent contribute to this project of ours. Big or small, the focus was always on contributing to the community. That is ultimately why we do what we do. After Jelly Bean, we decided to move to a new base, OmniROM. While AOKP was fun, OmniROM proved to be even more exciting base because it challenged us to see what we could do with a project that had different goals in mind. We learned a lot and again, gain contributors. With Lollipop, we moved to an AOSP base with a lot of patches from CAF to make our older devices function as they should. We grew even more and learned a whole lot more.
It has been an awesome learning experience and is still not over! We are still learning every day and continue to move forward. Lastly, we DO NOT accept, nor ask, for donations. We don't believe in that. Everything that is necessary to keep this project going is out of our own pocket. Gerrit, Jenkins, Websites, Devices, etc. We will never ask for a dime. All we do ask, is that you have patience, search, read and try to enjoy the process with us!!

I'm getting a FC from the theme chooser, what gives?
This is due to restoring data/apps from Google. Go ahead and clear data and cache for theme chooser and theme provider then reboot you should be good moving forward.
I changed my LCD density and now the navbar looks weird, what gives?
This is currenly an issue that we are aware of and addressing. For now after you changed density reset navbar layout or stay on the stock density.

Flashed the new build by @s.sawrav as a secondary rom in multirom and I'm pretty impressed. It's a whole lot smoother than Cm13 and all the other cm based ROMs. Thanks @pirej and @s.sawrav for this amazing ROM.
Buttery smooth and excellent looks...DU rocks... Thanks sawrav & Pirej...
Thanks and @s.sawrav & @pirej and im having some questions......
1. Is root (SUPERSU) issue solved whoch we r facing on previous builds
