Huawei Y6 Can't record screen - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello XDA this is the reason why I made this account
nvm, I am having a problem with my newly bought Y6 (Android 5.1.1)
When I try to record my screen (thru an app) it warns me about the app recording my screen and when I click Start Now it turns to black and the app closes
Plz help

Me too, but i guess emui 3.1(or 3.0) have the screen mirroring feature disabled...

I have the same exact problem. The only app that works is Google Play Games. You download a game (yes, this is necessary) that can be connected with Google Play Games, then you open GPG and select the game from there: you'll notice there is a record icon at the top right. You tap on that and you'll be able to take screen casts (you can even choose the quality).
Anyway, if you already solved this I'd like to know how!IEither way I'll subscribe to the thread because I'd love to find a different solution :fingers-crossed:

How to Downgrade Facebook app?

Hi everyone,
A few days ago I got the new Facebook UI with the built-in video player+auto-play, It's very laggy (every time it auto-plays videos) and it's impossible to download the videos. I really don't know what facebook developers thought when they decided to make such a terrible update. I want to downgrade to an earlier version that still have the option to choose a video player (and download the video) and more important without the auto-play function.
How can I do it? Which version to look for?

Depends on whether or not your phone came preloaded with Facebook. If it did, you would uninstall the update in your Settings / Applications (or Application Manager, depending on the phone) and then make sure it's not enabled to Auto Update it in the Play Store.. If it didn't come preloaded with the phone and you initially installed it from the Play Store, then go to the Settings / App section again and find out what update that is, and Google for the Facebook apk and find the newest one that isn't that one that is giving you issues.
I successfully installed older version with the old UI, but I still can't get it to pop up the video player selection :/
I dunno, I don't do Facebook really, and I have no clue which version you installed, so yea...

This is so annoying, I successfully got the video player to pop up, but after a day it stopped working. The Facebook didn't update, it's like in-app update that can't be blocked.
Use this then download messenger and freeze the messenger app using your favorite program to freeze apps like lucky patcher or android tuner. Now you can download videos and use your inbox without using that stupid messenger app. Press thanks I'd I helped you out

[Q] whatsapp doesnt work on N9 lte

I was a big fan of nexus since few years but never owned a nexus device.
Got my 1st nexus device the nexus 9 LTE but unfortunately cannot make phone calls and no SMS also with my Sim card. I was still fine with it but when I tried installing whatsapp it shows "your device isn't compatible with this version".
I need whatsapp anyhow.
I don't want to root my device also.

Whatsapp is working but you have to sideload it. Download at: http://www.whatsapp.com/android/. Then install the apk en follow the instructions. No problem for me.

1) For sms I use evolve sms. It's working but you also have to sideload it. Just search for evolvesms 3.01 apk (latest version). I've contacted the creator of the app for enabling access through playstore but it is google who has to enable it because of hardware capabilities.
2) Sorry. Can't help you with this question. Maybe dail-in with hangouts?
3) You can try screenshare on playstore (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.springdesign.screenshare.browser.client). There is a seperate version for phones. I haven't tried it.
Bro I tried the screenshare app before of what you asked me to install. It only helps in data sharing.

My Samsung phone works well with. My TV but this n9 , cast screen doesn't work

I've no problems casting my N9 to TV. I've a Samsung TV and a chromecast. Using hoppyslim as a ROM with elemental kernel.

Mate 10 Pro / Google Photos freezes

Does anyone have a problem with random Google Photos freezing? For example when I swipe through gallery on full screen, sometimes it freezees and I have to restart the phone by long pressing the power button. It usually happens after watching movie recorded by Mate's camera and when I swipe to a next movie or photo.
It's really frustrating especially that I love using Google Photos app and I use it's cloud service. For now I have to switch to native gallery app and have my fingers cross for Huawei to allow to buy more than 5 GB of storage space in Huawei's cloud.
My Mate 10 Pro is from official distribution on the newest Huawei's software, Google Photo app is also up to date.

Same also have an issue where if you get a notification from Google photos and click on it it doesn't open the app
I cleaned Google photos app's data and it's been working well for some days. I hope it would stay this way, because - for me - it's the best cloud solution with the great app on market. I think it's a problem with Mate's software, or maybe with Oreo 'cause on my LG G4 with a previous Android's version it worked without problems.
Edit: after recording new movies the problem is here again...

I had problem today aswell went on to Google photos and they was there but was all greyed out had to turn fone off an on and it worked again
Also does anyone know how often themes store updates with new themes

You can leave a feedback from inside the google photos app, I just did that. Maybe it helps.

Force Android Wear Background Colour? Wear 2.8

Hi all,
I sideloaded the Wear 2.8 update on my Asus Zenwatch 3 (which is OLED) and was pretty annoyed that I have no black background!
No idea if it really saves battery but I prefer the black look.
I'd like to modify the apk to have a proper black background but I don't know if it's possible.
Anyone able to help me?

What version of 2.8 is it? I feel like there was maybe one before the black background. I'm on 2.8.0.18. The only things I could suggest would be to manually check for updates in the google play store on your watch and try rebooting if it looks like you are on the latest one. (I had one user say my wear apps background changed after rebooting)

Once 2.8 shows up in Play store for your account it will be available for update on your phone and then eventually sync slowly over Bluetooth to the watch to be available for your watch.
It took over a week for the update to be available on my account.

thanks for the heads up. My phone app updated on 1/25. Still no update on my LG Urbane or Wear24. Although i just got the Wear24. So we shall see

lol i wish I could tell you....my play store stays open for about 5 seconds and then crashes. Can't download anything to my watch or even stay in it long enough to answer your question. I have factory reset multiple times and tried a variety of option toggling. It's quite frustrating

Are you sure it is not just going into ambient mode? When the watch goes to ambient mode in the play store, it will go back to the watch face. You could try continually tapping the screen to see if it eventually loads.

Green flickering on netflix on Mi Box S

After a recent update on my Mi box S my netflix started flickering green. it is really annoying.
Anyone else getting this or know how to fix this?
EDIT 1: I found out one interesting thing. If i use the app to view a series (with remote i select play) it gives me the green artifacts. If i cast the same episode with my phone to the box (with google cast, since the box has chromecast-builtin) it doesnt give the green artifacts. So i must assume it is the app that is the problem right?

Thank you for your answer, I cannot fully uninstall i can just uninstall updates since it is installed by default in the system.
I removed all updates and installed again but it still does that.

I want to use the App, my phone is unlocked and can't install Netflix from the store to cast

Try different HDMI cable...
your phone may not be compatible with Netflix...Check if you can cast from Youtube as a test
