GPS Navigation. - MTCB Software Development

I installed Malaysk's latest ROM, but have lost Navigation. I know when I did this in the past, I was able to load iGo (from the ROM, I think), but I cannot seem to do it now.
How do I activate navigation or download/install a new one?

Go tp Play Store, get Waze or Here Maps. Both are free offline navigation apps.

I had a chance to try both of those over the weekend. I am not a fan; one looks like it is for children and the other was too slow to be useful.
Back to my original question; how can I get iGO back on my head unit?
Thanks.

Probably you can find the .apk in iGo folder in gps SD
but take a look here also:
http://www.carjoying.com/Joying-blog/13.html

For some reason I do not have an iGo folder in the gps SD after installing Malaysk's ROM. I'll check an old computer at home and see if I backed up anything else.
I was able to find the location of the Torque .apk (along with others), but there was no navigation program in that folder.

Sadly, I deleted the card when I was doing the manufacturer-requested reboot.
I had already tried the previous post. As you stated, it appears to be no longer available.
I found an old backup. I'll see if I can get it to work in my car.

All set. I had the .apk saved on my computer.
I incorrectly thought that rooting the head unit destroyed everything on the SD and that since I still had the program when I rooted in the summer, iGo was part of Malaysk's ROM. Now that I understand it is a program that was NOT part of the ROM, I was able to find it.
Thanks to all.

how we can install Sygic on android 4.4.4. head unit ?

Buy Sygic on their web site, so you receive a license ID, download Sygic from the Google Play, activate your license within the Sygic app and then download the corresponding maps you bought.
Everything works perfectly, maps should also be automatically downloaded into the microSD, otherwise follow the instructions on the Sygic web site.

Anyone heard of an issue with iGo where it freezes after about 10 seconds? I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling but no difference. This is the software that came with my unit. I'm running a Malaysk ROM, but this happened on stock ROM as well.
My unit is a RK3188 MTCB.

Hey brioschi
Yours link from previous post with iGo link not working anymore.
Could you give a new link please from where I can dowload the iGo app and maps.... with instruction

GPS Navigation Apps--Copilot, Sygic Navigation

Just wanted to report that although the new Copilot updates no longer work with the nook color (imei issues), the Sygic Navigation app (formerly Sygic Aura) now works as it no longer requires internal GPS. I used it on my Nexus S before I took the phone back and then asked them to switch devices. I now have it running on the Nook Color using the Beta 3.1 with the .32 overclocked kernel. The device code used for Sygic is generated from the sd card being used. I also still use the older Copilot apk that doesn't require imei. Copilot works well too and probably better with more up to date maps. And $5 is a better price than what Sygic Navigation costs.
Can u describe exactly how u made Aura run on your NOOK?
With version 3 I didnt have any luck.I installed app from market, I downloaded maps, but when it starts, it gets me back to homescreen.

You need to use an external GPS, enable bluetooth, and also download GPS bluetooth provider free from the market. Turn on your GPS device, enable bluetooth on the Nook Color, and then start the GPS bluetooth provider app, and finally launch Sygic Navigation. It should open now.
I'm using Bluetooth GPS and an external GPS. I also bought and loaded Sygic but, when I start Sygic, the screen goes black, you can see the arrow in the bottom tray then the app closes and returns to main screen without any explanation.
Running CM7.0.2 from sdcard. Wondering what might be the difference in that yours is working?

Is bluetooth enabled? Did you start bluetooth gps? Did you get a satellite fix? Differences between your setup and mine: I'm not running off sd card, running 3.1 beta with the .32 oc kernel. It is my guess that running CM7 off the sd card is causing the problem.

Please give me link for 3.1 beta then.
I have tried also running the app from emmc and I had also gps fix, but I always get the same situation:just back to homescreen.
Also I have read somewhere that it doesnt work with Android 2.3.3.Maybe this is the problem??

The CM7 .32 kernal beta build which you can get from the first page of the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=960537 is 2.3.4. http://kan.gd/ixm

Was looking through some other threads - many additional offline map apps are discussed here. Downloaded Mapdroyd - seems to work CM7. Bought Navdroyd ($7.20) which also has navigation via GPS. Downloading maps now so I'll let you know. BTW - both of these work offline.

Just took a drive around hte neighborhood - works great, good directions, fairly accurate. Using Gsat bluetooth GPS and Bluetooth GPS

It doesn't. You'll have to find an older version (.504) or try Sygic Navigation. Here is a link that may help with the former solution: http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-1051972.html

Question - I've got Sygic loaded and it FC with the older version. Opened it after reading your post (thanks) and it worked - asked for email pw etc. Then it asked for product code - ?? I think this one was bought ( might have been free - don't remember) but it came through the Android market and as such does not come with a product number ( looks like a registration number). Is this number located somewhere in a file folder?
Thanks for any help.

[Q] Radio.com APK?

I'm trying to listen to my favorite radio station from my childhood, but can only get them on Radio.com. If I listen in the browser window, I can't do anything else on my Nook, as the music stops when I leave the browser window.
Radio.com is available for free in the Market, but Nook Tablets aren't compatible. Does anyone have an APK I could sideload?
Thanks!
10 minutes on Google etc. yielded this link. http://www.umnet.com/download-software/15939-Radiocom_v10_Free
Thanks! I spent quite a bit of time on Google last night, looking for this, and was only able to find it on FirstLoad, but they wanted my credit card information to download it.
Pls let us know if it installs and performs to your liking.
It installed fine and runs, but stops playing after a little while. Not sure yet if it's a connection issue or an app issue. I'm using my wifi at work, which isn't always reliable. I'll know better when I try to use it at home.
I'll update this weekend.
UPDATE: So, I'm thinking it's definitely a connection issue, as it's been playing now for a couple of hours with no hiccups. I'm pleased, because I'd read really horrible things about it. As it's the only game in town for listening to WCBS-FM in NYC, though (and I'm in Albany), I had to try it. Glad I did. Thanks again!
UPDATE 2: 4:00 PM, and still going strong. Awesome!
Does anybody have the apk file available without having to download and install "download manager?"
I didn't have to download that, and I don't even know what it is. Per the instructions at the page listed above, I went to m.umnet.com and entered 615939 in the code field.

Thanks, that took care of it. I transfered to the SD card and installed with Root Explorer (which I use to browse eventhough my NT isn't rooted). When I view files this way, I'm given the option to install. Looking at it through the NT My Files doesn't give an install option.
I got it installed and all it does is force close. 1.4.0 rooted.
Using Tune In Radio and it works well.

[Q] BT GPS without mocking locations?

I own one of the first GNex devices with crappy GPS. I have a GPS in my car, so that wasn't a big problem.
When I started to play Ingress, I used a external BT GPS Receiver (Holux 1000c). It worked very well, also inside of buildings.
Since 1.18 update of Ingress, the game doesn't start if you enable "mock locations" in the dev-options, to prevent cheating. I'm not a cheater and if I would be one, there are much easyer way's to cheat then modifying a external BT GPS.
So, is it possible (with root of course) to use a external GPS without enable "mock locations"?
I have the exact same problem using CM 10.1 nightly for the SGS i9000. I am trying to use a TomTom Wireless GPS MKII as an external GPS Provider. I have found a posting in the development area for this device.

So, it seems like it was possible to use external GPS in CM10 without using "mock locations", but now it isn't anymore. I have to admit, that I do not know whether this is a Cyanogen Mod related issue or a general Android 4.1 upgrading to Android 4.2 issue.
I was installing "Fake GPS location" and copied it to /system/app. It works without "Mock location".
So it's possible to use a different source then the internal GPS. But I don't like to fake my location, that would be cheating.
I'm running AOKP.

I also tried to move the app "Bluetooth GPS" to /system/app but this doesn't work, since this app wants to actively enable "mock locations". Perhaps someone builds an Ingress friendly bluetooth GPS App, that works on rooted phones.
I was looking further for additional information regarding the "gps source" setting and wanted to share my results.
At first I was searching Google and found a lot of forum postings here from people missing this feature but never got an answer what happened to it. (At least as far I can tell)
Then I luckily found the patch which added external GPS support to CM a year ago and with it I found the blog of the developer who has made it.

I've got some questions from users asking if I'm going to port my patch to the latest Cyanogenmod. Since I don't have access to a Nexus device, the patch will probably take some time. I can only test it with an actual device.

So there are two options: patching for ourselves or beg Cuong to do it for us.
I installed CM9 as a second ROM with Boot Manager.
I changed the GPS provider to the external source, and it works with ingress, without problems. Now I can set my resonators accurate again.
The only thing I have to do is reboot, to activate the other ROM. Thats okey for me.
Hm, no Boot Manager for my Samsung
I went back to CM10, my TomTom MK2 works like a charm in Ingress.

First, you have to pair your Bluetooth GPS Mouse with your phone.
Then you have to go to the location settings in system settings. Scroll down! There is the option to choose "GPS Source".
(I hope, I described the options with the right words, since I have a german phone, it says "Standordzugriff" and "GPS-Quelle")

Oh, I see. This feature is missing from CM 10.1, but is available in CM10.
So is there any solution for those of us either without CM at all (rooted but native Nexus 7), or with CM 10.1?
I am having this problem too, for gNex, now even if I use CM10.1 it still dont have GPS source selectable
It only works with CM10, not with 10.1

I see.... CM 10 seems is a bit old.. someone has posted the GPS patch source, https://github.com/CyanogenMod/andr...mmit/e1fe2f45aff536402a192b9fbeadea20d91d15e5 , does any one know how to use it? I can't find res/values/arrays.xml on my phone.
Anyone got an idea how to solve it for cm 10.1 ?
I really want to use my external bt mouse over the crappy inbuilt gps receiver
Seems like there are no updates on this topic, are there?
I also miss this (to me) killer feature... :crying:
Hopefully it will be added to CM10.1 soon

i have exact the same problem. my internal gps is broken and i can´t use the bluetooth gps device on my lg p880 | cyanogenmod 10.1.2.
i won´t use any cheating tricks to get it to work, so looks like, that we have to wait
That's something that I can't grasp... I'm trying to use those FakeGPS apps for android, but to make them work without the Mock Locations enabled they say I need to move them to system/priv-app folder... Someone please have mercy on me and explain how to do it. I'm moving the apk file and it's an installer, obviously. What to do then? Tried to install it from there, it installs as a normal app and still requires Mock Locations. If I don't reinstall it from this new location, then the shortcut on the home page just doesn't work... i just can't grasp the concept. Recommendations with the apps come so that as if it's a well known and obvious thing how to do it - not obvious to me at all for some reason. You, on the other hand, have done it apparently. So maybe you could explain to me what is that's so obvious and I'm missing. Please...

I have read that I can solve it changing some parameters in ES Explorer (r-r-r), but I can do it ONLY if my device is root.
Is there any way to root it? does anyone have this device?

Hey how is the device? How is the wifi speeds? I had a lesser known brand that over all worked pretty good but the wifi speeds were horrible. Download speeds capped at around .25 mbps! I just followed the steps in the downloaded file (word document). It's very simple. Sure is better explained that if I try to explain, because my English is not good and it is possible that I confuse someone.
Only one possible problem ... If your pc does not detect the tablet with the drivers provided by JXD, then as I said, you have to look on the internet: Simply search on google "mt65xx android phone drivers"

hello,
I am a beginner, I do not speak very good English,
I can not configure my tablet JXD P1000,

how to install the play store on my tablet or switch to root mode, Please
I also have bought a JXD P1000 in Vietnam. It looks working almost perferctly except GPS.
Problem I had in using GPS is, the satellites are caught but the present location won't be fixed forever.
So google map doesn't show exactly where I am, and it's useless at this moment.
I found similar problems in tablets using MTK6877(?) posted in other bbs. MTK6877 is said to be a brother cpu to this MTK8377.
The solution introduced in that BBS was to put a file named GPS.prop(?) into under /system folder. But it needs root.
So, what I want to say is, are there anybody facing a similar GPS problem?
Or other help or suggestions are appreciated.

I also have bought a JXD P1000 in Vietnam. It looks working almost perferctly except GPS.
Problem I had in using GPS is, the satellites are caught but the present location won't be fixed forever.

I don't have software to test the GPS
i have only firmware( w w w .jxd.hk/download.asp?id=1168&selectclassid=020001) but I don't know what to do
I just recieved mine and so far i like it. My gps wasnt working but i got it to work. My only problem right now is the wifi. Anybody having problems with the wifi with the tablet is in sleep mode. I changed the setting to always stay on but it keep breaking. The symbol is on but no internet connection is going through until i turn off wifi and turn it back on. So far i notice it when i leave it alone for a while, not instantly. I havent done the update yet and hopefully that fixes this problem but if it doesn't, anybody has any ideas. Im also trying a wifi lock app but doesnt seem to be working.

As for me, I didn't realize that wifi problem with JXD. It might be because of using power saving apps.
And how did you get the gps to work?

Well i havent downloaded any power saving apps. Well now the gps is spotty. It was working fine for a while but suddenly stopped. I used the gps status and tools app (i think thats how it is called). Also messed with the native gps settings. The wifi problem im having also happens when im using it as well. So basically at any moment it can happen. Very annoying.

I have had for 2 months no GPS can't get to upgrade now cause i get this message
BROM Errors : S_COM_PORT_OPEN_FAIL (1013)
[COM] Failed to open COM 3
[HINT]:
Possible reason:1. If you use UART1 to download DA, please make sure that you have selected the correct UART1 COM port first!2. USB driver is abnormal, please restore them, and then try again.
wifi is non-issue only problem in general the tech support are the following

I got the upgrade done yesterday. What i did is first connect the tablet to the computer, for the first time, and have it automatically install the drivers, once successful, i chose to install the ones provided in the upgrade file in the jxd website. I got an error saying it wasnt installed proerly on one of them but when i reconnected the tab it connected fine. So i decided to go on with the upgrade process from the word doc in the zip file. Pretty simple like the other person said on this thread, though i did try like 2-3 times before it began. Once it started was smooth sailing. The upgrade made the tab better. Gapps work fine, except i cant install google shopper for some reason. Everything else is pretty stock android with all the google services working. I have yet to see if the upgrade restores gps, so when i do test it out pretty well they ill give my results.
Update on my wifi problem: it seems it is only happening on my portable hotspot only. While on my home wifi it is solid good. When im out and about, it keeps disconnecting from my personal hotspot. Any ideas why that would be?

JXD P1000 - Purchased from Pandawill.com
Hello!
I am having same issues with Google Play, can't sync with or install Gmail. I was able to load the .apk file for Google Play but it fails to launch. Google maps and navigation will not work, and device is unable to determine my location. I was able to find .apk files on the net for Mozilla and Facebook and have those working, but I really need access to Google Play Store.
I was able to download the PC drivers from the JXD website, and now my Windows 7 PC will detect the device.
I tried to update the firmware from the JXD site but says that one of the files is not compatible.
Customer service at Pandawill is unable to resolve the situation and will not authorize a refund.
Is there a way to root this device or install any Google apps?
Mant thanks!

I cant say why it is not happening right but for you but i can briefly say what i did. I started by downloading the upgrade from the website. I then connected the tablet to the computer and let the system automatically install the drivers. After the sucessful notice i extracted the zip file i downloaded off the website. I installed the drivers from the file. Both driver folders. Both of them had an error after installing them but windows asked if i wanted to reinstall them (or fix the install) using there recommended method. I chose yes for both. Let it finish and whatever the result i closed it and continued ( dont remember if it came out ok or an error again). With all the errors in the beginning of installing the drivers in the folders i check to see if the computer would still recognize the device and surely it still did. Now i went in follow the instruction from the word document in upgrade section. One thing you will have to do i extract another file from within the folders. Its the same on that the instructions says to chose in the program, one of the first steps. Look for it and extract it or else you wont be able to choose it in the program itself. I had problems in the step where you had to turn off the device and connect the device to the computer via usb so the program can detect it. It didnt ork the first time, nor the second time when i disconnectednitnand reconnected it. i closed the program and restarted it. This time it detected it and i just continued as the instructions said. All came out fine with all of Google's services working including play store. Its full fledged tablet now and better then when i first recieved it.
I was having trouble with wifi connection ( internet connection) not sticking with my hotspot only but i think i got a way for it to work. I read that some tablets have similar problems. They were able to fix it by using a static ip instead of the dynamic one. I tried different ones until i found one that stuck. Now it stays connected all day. Its still under testing to see if it is a complete solution or temp fix. Though im liking the results. You with have to check the router settings to see the range of ip's it uses and just chose different one from in there. Thats the only thing i changed. Hope any of this helps as of right now there is no known root method's.

I purchased an AT&T sim card from Straight Talk to use with the JXD P1000. I am able to make phone calls and send/receive text messages, however, the data is extremely slow. Looks like I am only getting 2G speeds as the indicator light shows "E" for Edge.
Does anyone know of any settings to speed up the data? The device works great when connected to Wi-Fi, but I was hoping to use the sim card for data when Wi-Fi is not available.
Many Thanks!

MapMyFitness Force Closes

Hi guys.
I bought this watch so that I can install my fitness apps and thus do away with the need to walk with a phone in the pocket.... My main outdoor apps are MapMyFitness and Runkeeper with MapMy being my preferred app. Unfortunately MapMyFitness force closes as soon as I log in and launch the app. Funny thing is that without logging in the app is ok but of course would be useless without logging in.
Please does anyone know how to sort out this..... https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mapmyfitness.android2&hl=en

Something in the recent ROMs has caused this - on my March firmware it worked for me, but since putting either of the two updated ROMs on, it crashes, as you say.

Thank you for the response. I seem to be running an older firmware. The system identifies my rom date as 2013/08/14 (Version 1). However I have a slightly difference device as mine is the OTOUCH Wave though its basically the same smartwatch wearing a different uniform - http://xtouchdevice.com/en/product13.html#techspec
By the way I have no idea whether I can use a micro sd card with the watch. I havent opened up the base yet as I am ok with it as it is but I would not mind additional storage as I have the 4 GB version where only slightly above 1 GB is available for storage... I saw from a different model that the sd card slot is reached after opening the back cover but not sure this is true for all the TrueSmart variants. Any advice on this please?

On the micro SD question, the only reference I could find to it having the capability was through one of XTouch's resellers - http://translate.google.co.uk/trans...prev=/search?q=r24+mobile&client=safari&hl=en
For certain, opening it up will tell you!

Agreed. It shall go under the screw-driver this weekend. After all the allegation of the watch being waterproof is doubtful so there is nothing much to lose. I still love the watch for outdoor activities and even though there are a few glitches its still much better than running with a smartphone. I am not even sure that I can use both MapMyfitness and RunKeeper using the watch at the same time as I have to exit one app before launching another app unlike the phone where I have been using both apps simultaneously.

That interesting but no joy for me. I uninstalled and re-installed the app but no change for me. I guess my older firmware should be the culprit then. Le me hope that there will be an upgrade to either 4.3 or 4.4. Please do check for me whether it is possible for Runkeeper and MapMy to run simultaneously. I do appreciate your invaluable feedback and sorry for my many requests....
