Zenwatch 2 over Sony Smartwatch 3? - Asus ZenWatch 2

I've got a sony Smartwatch 3, I'm wondering if it's worth getting a zenwatch 2 as a replacement for it? I find the bands on the SW3 very uncomfortable and am looking for a better experience.

My experience is sony sw3 is more comfortable and I got the plastic band for zw2

Zenwatch 2 is better looking, functionality is the same. I like zenwatch better, battery is better but as for general usage, exactly the same. Zenwatch doesn't have GPS built in, not something I care about but that's the only difference.

The ZW2 does have built in GPS. It also has a much better display than the SW3. The color saturation, viewing angle, energy efficiency are all superior. The only area where SW3 beats the ZW2 is the better water resistance rating. Plus, the ZW2 has a better price and and an built-in speaker.

I'm pretty sure most correct articles out there say it doesn't have GPS. I've read one article saying it has, first one on Google search...But the fact is that it doesn't.

It definitely doesn't have GPS. Seems like Android device reviews are full of more misinformation and speculation than political speeches.

Nope no GPS. Screen is better though as its amoled. The smartwatch 3 is the GPS one. Not the zenwatch 2

asus zenwatch 2 uses your phones gps...and it's very accurate

I do not know anything about the bands on the Sony watch. Arent they replaceable?
On the ZW2 you can get any 22mm (I think its 22) band and attach it. It is not proprietary like on the Motorola Watch.
Currently I got a cheap leather band with folding clasp and I am very satisfied with the band.

SW3 has an adaptator for standard 24mm band.

What sold you on the Folio?

I'm looking for a Tegra-2 based 10-inch tablet running Android 2.2 and one that has XDA support. I looked at the Viewsonic G Tablet and the Malata Z-Pad. the Toshiba seems to be the mainstream equivalent so I'm wondering if I should spend the extra money and get a "name-brand" tablet like the Folio.
I'm just curious as to what sold you on the Folio versus what else is available on the market?
TIA,
Chris R.

FolioMod sold it to me. Tegra 2 as a good second bet. Too bad the viewing angles are absolutely horrid on this. Otherwise a very potent package.

I noticed that when you turn the folio upside down, the viewing angles are a lot better (especially when watching movies in your bed)
I just adjust my stand according to the angle i'm viewing it from. I use a GorillaPod stand as a temporary solution, very easy to customize.

The LCD is not so bad, it's bright and vivid enough. Of course the view angle is aweful, but you will get use to it! After all is tablet and is supposed to seat close to you in your hands- If you forget some small issues is quite a good deal. Sad thing is that Toshiba support is a joke!

OT: Yes, it's almost starts me thinking if Toshiba just failed (again) with the assembling of this device.
I constantly uses it "upside down" now since the viewing angle is better.
The price, hw spec (tegra2) and foliomod was what got me to buy it. If I didn't know about dexters (and others) work on this piece I would probably never bought it, especially after all the bad press it was getting after getting pulled from the stores.
But I just can't stop liking it.

LOL, same here.
I knew the Folio wasn't perfect when I bought it, but I also knew it had potential.
I'm quit happy but I feel for those who bought the device and never heard of XDA, stuck on a market that fits on there device entirely.

Smart Cover type case?

Coming from an iPad2, the only thing i miss was my smart cover. Allowed protection without adding bulk.
I know it wouldnt work quite the same but I saw something similar for a Galaxy tab. It has a thin (metal/plastic?) backplate to hold the front piece. Perhaps it could be magnetic where the two ends meet to keep it closed.
Anything like this already available?

The closest there is right now is the Asus case, its a sleeve with a standing back but its the thinnest I've seen.

Sikai case ordered from eBay. Like original iPad cover but with some smart cover like foldin fir different viewing angles.
+1 for this. I m hoping that something like this comes out soon too!!!!
They should just make something with a hard back and 4 little lips that go over the corners with a hinge on one side for the flap with magnets.
Seems very easy to make.

Cheers for that, just what I've been looking for. Ordered one.
Reports that the Sikai magnets screw with the digital compass used for google maps and such.
Kinda iffy now. I also don't want black. I'd like white or some bright color.
difficult to developing a smart cover case for TF101.
Couldn't the Samsung one fit the TF? Aren't they the same size?
Right now I have a casecrown portfolio case, but I would like to see something like a smartcover (rather Samsung's version of smart cover where you have all round protection including the back.
For those who haven't seen the samsung's smartcover ripoff, here it is:

No they are not, all android tablets out there have different sizes. Screen size doesn't matter much when you are looking for a case with a perfect fit.

I have a OnePlus 2 - Exculsive hands on!

I am a beta tester from China
I have used the new OnePlus 2 for a few week
Ugly design, but the crafting is good
Thicker body, but feel good in hands
Camera has OIS, but not Sony sensor
Home button with fingerprint sensor, not quite sensitive
Oxygen OS not finalize yet, lots of bugs
Prefer OnePlus One more ...
Enjoy the hands-on pics! (shortened the "http" )

Not sure if you're talking the truth,
but since this is the first time I see those leaked pictures **** must be kind of true.
Pls tell me it has SD card slot
Looks like a dog, but not as bad as the TENAA leaks, but way short of any wow factor the One had. OP are really going to have to market this to get any longevity out of this Samsung/LG mishmash
SD card?
And how is the temperature?

Is there a Lite model or just a OnePlus 2?
Does it have an IR Blaster?
How is the sound quality of the speakers?
Is that a mute switch on the side of the device?
Looks just fine to me. What about the screen size and resolution?
Now you got me curious
That IR blaster question even more
Could you please post some full resolution sample pictures taken with the camera?
Does it still have a option for on screen navigation buttons?
Guys those are real but idk why they are leaked.
More pictures in high resolution?
This is just short beta preview, actually it means nothing, guys, just wait for full video preview, i think someone will make in next 24h after VR launch
Anyway it looks nicer than before
It's definitely sleeker than the original leaked images led us to believe. Based on what he just posted on the front page, this is the A2001, which is the lite version of the phone. The A2003 is the higher end model and will look somewhat different (potentially).
I edited the OP to make the links active - and it looks like there is an imgur album

Best guess I've seen is a mute switch.
thanks @jerdog for fixing.
@chinaleakking - thank you for sharing -- can you describe what you mean by "not quite sensitive" ?
Does it have a micro SD card slot??? If so, this is definitely a 2016 flagship killer.

What Does Your Moto 360 Look Like? (Post a Pic)

Did you go with a stock band, or did you outfit your Moto 360 with your own band? Show us what you did to yours.
Me, I went with the black Moto 360, and went with a black stainless steel band from my local jeweler.

42 mm black, black micro knurl, leather cognac band
any of you cats opt for the (for lack of a better term) "chiseled" bezel? i see how it looks on the moto site but real world images would be choice.
also, any wacky designs (gold bezel with black stainless or somesuch?)?

The design bezel is called knurl and it looks just like it does in the website pictures. As can be seen in my pictures one post above.

Could you disclose your wrist circumference?
I betted that this is a 46mm watch, but in that case it just looks like that on your wrist.
Mine is about 17,5-18cm
Don't know yet if 42 or 46mm would be better.

Mines just turned up - Will be having a play later tonight
Received it yesterday, lovely thing! It's the default 46mm version because it's the only available option in my country. Though it's probably the one I would have picked anyways.
another plus side is that it is exactly the same size as my old fossil watch (which is a pretty common model in europe) in width and thickness:
Got mine last Thursday. 42 mm men's version. I like it, not too big and looks like a normal watch. I've had it freeze on me a couple of times, but I think it can be fixed with software update.
Leather & leather!

Well someone could make some serious bank on this if they would make a sport version; there's no telling how many times I've seen a broken band

Sil-poxy can glue silicone to silicone, which is a hard thing to do for glue. Might be worth trying on the moto 360 sport!
Hello moto 360 sport owners,
I found a moto 360 sport housing at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2641237 .
I have cut the band and modified the 3d model. My version can be found at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2858248.
I don't own a 3d printer so I used an external internet 3d printer service (just google for 3d printer service). I have paid about 23€ (including tax and shipping).

This is great!
What holds it in there? I imagine it's mostly relying on the fact that it's strapped to your wrist.
Doesn't cutting the original band mess with it's GPS? Not that the GPS was worth anything, haha.
As you already guessed, the smartwatch is strapped to the wrist with the 3d printed housing. I thought about designing a small area at the bottom of the housing so you can clip the smartwatch in. But I'm not sure if it would break very easily.
With the GPS I don't recognize any problems. The hotfix is quite fast and I get about 6-7 satellites. Unfortunately I didn't check the satellites befor the modification so I don't know if it has really no effect at all.
Found another way
I instead glued on new lugs with some success. Check it out here if you are interested: XDA Moto 360 sport install lugs
