Anyone know when Android 6.0 will be out for this device? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+

Hello everyone!
I have tried to research this and can't seem to find any up-to-date info on this subject. Anyone know anything?
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ using Tapatalk

Well, I found some information out. I seems like it will be coming for the S6, S6 Edge, and S6 Edge+ in February. Don't hold your breath, though, as they have changed the release date three times now.

Back in Nov Verizon's update projection showed DEC. Then DEC came and pushed to January. Now you say Feb beings we are in January. One thing I learned with Verizon is they are not quick at all with new system os updates and could be 6 months before we see it. This is why I hate carriers being in charge of updates and why google hates dealing with Verizon with their nexus line.

Also found out that we may be getting an Android 5.1.1 update first before 6.0.1.

[Q] Touch Wiz UI coming around July 28th?

Since Verizon's 4G LTE SGT 10.1 is launching on July 28th with the TouchWiz UI, its reasonable to believe that the TouchWiz UI for wifi SGT 10.1 is coming around or maybe a little bit before July 28. What do you guys think?

July 28.....of maybe 2012 then sure. Lol samsung sucks at updates. That's a known fact. Touchwiz will eventually arrive, but don't go counting the days down for it. That'll just make it seem longer. For now just enjoy your stock Honeycomb.
i don't think the LTE Tab is going to have Touchwiz...

1+ it took them 1 year for them to give me froyo goodness.
Samsung sucks because the us carriers suck. If you have sgs2 we have already got a bunch of updates from Samsung. I agree Samsung can still improve on updates, but they are not the only one to blame.
Anyway there is no carrier involved for the wifi tab so I think we should see the touchwiz update pretty soon.

TouchWiz, and more accessories all by the end of this month? Sammy is getting quite busy. If I get TW and the bluetooth keybd case it will be Christmas in July!

[Q] Will there be a new Nexus 10 coming out this year?

I was thinking of buying the Nexus 10, however hearing rumors that Google is releasing a new Nexus 7, I was wondering if this is also the case for the Nexus 10?

Nobody knows until Google actually says something. But in the event they were releasing a new N10, it wouldn't be till November.
There will always be a new something that better coming out.
Sent from my Nexus 4 @1.728 GHz on Stock 4.2.2
As the latest Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 and Note 10.1 are not better than the N10, I don't think it'll be any time soon. However, if Google does a one year refresh like the Nexus 7, then you'll see it on November 12th.
Sorry I'm not able to get more specific.
A new nexus 10 is completely unheard of. I highly doubt it happens any time soon.

I think they ought to, at the very LEAST, release a bloody stand/charging dock for it!

Not completely, Samsung had specs for a new model refresh known as the Nexus 11 months ago and was trying to get it pushed through. The only rumor that came since then was that Google wasn't wanting a refresh yet. This is from a Samsung document in late April (supposedly):
NEXUS 11*
- 11” Super PLS TFT
- 8 Megapixel
- 2 Megapixel
- Octa-Core A15 / A7 (Exynos 5410)
- Micro SD 64 GB (Rumoured)
* Needs to get approvement from Google (Worlds first Octa-Core tablet)
lets hope
- 0 reboots

[Q] Verizon will be at a snails pace to Kitkat upgrade?

I read that Verizon will be the only carrier not to sell the Nexus 5. Reasoning? Likely it is highly integrated with Google apps such as the forbidden Wallet. Google plans to end fragmentation with this backward compatible version but we all know how Verizon likes to be in complete control. Chances the Note II will see this carrier upgrade, slim to none?
Verizon likes to have full control over the devices which Google doesn't want in its Nexus program. Verizon also doesn't see the potential (Profit) in the Nexus which may not be too far off as it is mainly just us Android addicts that go crazy over it, most mainstream consumers are looking at the G2, Moto X, HTC One, and GS4 (All of which Verizon has on their network).
As for when we will get the update really relies on Samsung and if they want to make it available for the Note 2. The 4.3 update was in the air for a while and being that the GS5 will be announced early next year we may never see 4.4 officially. If we do we may be in luck for once as Verizon and Samsung seemed to have synced up nicely with the 4.3 release and Verizon is actually one of the first carriers to push it out to their Galaxy devices (Note 2, GS3, GS4) but who knows.
I think the low memory requirements for Android and 4.4 were more for porting it to new devices such as watches and to support current low end models, not getting older forgotten about devices finally upgraded.

Most likely we will never see kit-kat. Samsung is fairly slow and Verizon is extremely slow.

Samsung is slow? Are you insane? It's the carrier that is slow. Check your facts pal. Samsung usually gives at least a couple major updates but they are severely limited by Verizon. Especially when we are such an open phone. They take more time to fix the bootloader being unlocked as instructed by Verizon. Samsung is a fantastic company. The fact that the s3 is getting 4.3 is a good indicator of how the note 2 will be treated a little later down the line.

It still take Samsung months to release an update on the international versions. They are only semi quick on the very latest phones. There's no reason a billion dollar company should take that long when a group of developers from this site can port asop Roms by themselves in a matter of hours, albeit with some bugs but these people do this for fun and are way more efficient.

The update will NOT come before Verizon's approval which means it will be delayed for months...after all the other carriers get it. The Nexus 7 2014 JUST got certified last week. (or week before) It has been out for eons. This is how it always is with Verizon.
Well hopefully we get a leak or port from one of the other carriers and the masters can do their magic.

The really significant thing is that we *are* going to get the update. I was expecting 4.3 to be the last. Even if it takes months it will still be far earlier that I would have expected, even assuming that we were going to get another major update at all. (Face it. 4.3 took forever for even Samsung to get out.) This opens the possibility that we might even get another update someday.
Of course, I plan to have a Galaxy Note 4 in 10 months or so.

It seems generally speaking that the big name manufacturers (at least Samsung/Moto/HTC) are getting the point that these devices deserve the updates and it promotes customer loyalty! I like the fact Google is pushing them too
Well the biggest thing is that the 4.4.2 requires little ram. I might have jumped the gun on release but I am happy that we are in line to get it. I really hope that AT&T, Verizon or another service releases the update. I am pretty sure that when the international version get shipped out, someone will definitely port it over
im not even excited about a 4.4 update i just got the 4.3 update in december and even after updateing verizon was saying we have no info on a 4.3 update being released for my note 2 and i gotto say the update is not all that great after the update my camera which on 4.1 took great pics now takes grainy pics that are awful

I am confused, I know its a completely different hardware but when 4.3 was released for note 3, it was ported over to note 2 by seanzscreams. Why would this be any different?

That was just specific Note 3 apps that were ported not the entire OS.
