Acer A700 USB problem

Hello. I've got A700 and I'm trying to root it but I've got a problem. I tried it with every key combination (power, volume up & down) I found on the internet but they don't work.
I also tried it when using the USB port but my PC and my laptop won't recognise the tablet. I've downloaded the drivers from Acer but when I install them my PC asks to install NET frameworks 2.0.5727. This version is no longer available but Frameworks 3 also worked according to Microsoft. After this installation the drivers from Acer still don't want to install. Then I tried it with Android USB driver but the same problem keeps coming back.
When I plug the tablet on my PC and look in the windows device manager there is a yellow triangle on the USB port with an error code 43. I've got the same problem and errors on my laptop. They both work on Windows 8.1. Could it be that the problem is on my tablet's USB? There is no problem when charging.
Does anyone have a similar problem or maybe a solution?
I have this problem too for my Acer a700. When I connect the tablet, i can't see the folders on the tablet via the pc anymore. I can't put files on it, and I can't transfer files from the tablet to the pc.
I contacted Acer and they said that windows 8.1 uses a new way to deal with usb drivers.
I will translate (google translate) from dutch to english
Dear customer,
*
Unfortunately, Windows 8.1 handles the USB drivers differently than Windows 7/8. So there are specific drivers for Windows 8.1 required that we can not supply at this time.
We have made a request to check whether these drivers are still going to be mad.e At this moment we can not specify the period within which we as a reaction to get going.
Until then you might try to work with the following generic driver: http://www.droid-now.com/2013/10/fix-working-fastboot-drivers-windows-8-1-x64/
Note that they are not specifically designed for the Acer tablet and we can not provide support for the things that are discussed there.
Following the instructions is at your own risk.
*
As soon as we have more information about the Windows 8.1 driver, we will inform you about it.
*
Hoping this provides you with sufficient information and we apologize for the inconvenience
Any update. I have same problem running window 10.

Endless Boot Loop - Booting from USB

I'm trying to boot Remix OS Legacy version on a Dell Inspiron 1520 laptop, from a San Disk 16GB USB 3.0 drive. I've downloaded and burned the Remix OS to the USB twice but all I get is a Boot Loop.
The PC starts booting and I get the option to boot in Resident Mode or Guest Mode. Doesn't matter which I choose, it gets to the point in the screen shot below and the PC simply reboots over and over.
I've checked the BIOS and can't find anywhere to disable secure boot or anything like that. Any help or ideas Thanks!

When your pc starts, keep pressing F2 key. You will enter the BIOS menu. Go to the boot tab, select "Legacy Boot" mode and disable "Secure Boot". Change the boot structure from HDD to FDD. Press F10 to save and reboot. Done.

Ah, but you didn't say search harder. You just reiterated what I'd already been doing.
I guess that old PC isn't gonna run Remix.

My nine year old ****ty laptop has legacy boot, dude, how is it possible you dont have it. If not, get an update from the motherboard's official website.
For example, some acer laptops did not have legacy boot mode, so, they released an update to it on their official website. Maybe, your manufacture did it too.

Do you really think that all the brands release updates for their bios?
Most of them don't! The one for my motherboard ends at 24/11/2010....

Well don't look anymore for secure boot because Inspirons don't have/support it.(Under system information mine says unsupported) I don't have any ideas/recommendations for you other than to redownload and reburn to usb because on my Inspiron all I had to do was change the boot priority order in the boot menu and whenever the usb is plugged in I boot to it.
I think Remix is still in alpha stage. From other side, there is to many diferent hardware, and it is hard to support all of them. My experience: I have Toshiba Satellite L775D AMD quad core wit AMD Radeon 6520G hd and 6GB RAM. I am very familiar with instalation of OSs on hdd, I have 4 Linux distros, 1 Android x86 and 1 Windows 10 on same hard drive (multi boot, runing GRUB from Arch Linux), but I can't boot Remix. Also, I can not boot Android x86 Lollipop and Android x86 Marsmellow. I can boot Android x86 KitKat and have one installed on hdd. From other side, on my wife Acer Aspire, I can boot all of these stuffs.
Sory dude, but I think you simple have no luck with your hardware and Remix. Maybe things will be better in future for you (and for me).

Same with me still, with beta
Workaround for dell inspiron is to use PlopKexec boot manager. Don't know if it will work for HDD but I got USB 32bit version working on my Dell inspiron 1545 using it.
32bit works for me!
Got an old Dell GX620. 64bit gave endless loop symptoms. 32bit works like a charm! :good:
My Toshiba Sattelite C50d-a-13w can boot remix and android x86(_64) from 5.1 to 7.1 ...................
I realize that this is way overdue, however Dell laptops back then did not support secure boot, and while they did support both UEFI, you could not enable or disable either, you just had to manually specify each time you boot from USB what you wish to boot (and Dells use F12 for manual boot).
As to whether RemixOS boots or not, that is down to the specific hardware and OS version.
I have an Intel DH55HC motherboard, and Remix OS booted on it without issues, until the last versions, where it would keep failing to boot.

Nvidia ION 2 Optimus Issues

hi,
i installed the latest remix os for my Netbook which is an ASUS Eee PC 1215n equiped whith an Intel ATOM D525 CPU and an NVIDIA OPTIMUS ION 2 (GT218),but nothing is working and the boot freezes on "Detecting Android-X86".
So i think that the Optimus technology is not yet implemented in this last release!!!!
Is there any chance for a Remix OS version that supports my netbook please??
I am running Remix OS on my Asus Eee PC 1015pn, which is working quite well. However, I need to boot first into Windows and use the Asus Graphics Switch tool to active the optimus mode. Then I can reboot into Remix OS.
Best, maris

Hacking a Chinese Android Smart-Mirror

Hi there! So I have a bizarre rearview mirror that my husband bought in China. It's a mirror with an integrated 5" tablet that is a mirror when off and a tablet when on. It came rooted. It's loaded with a weird, highly stripped down version of Kitkat, and there is no section in settings for developer options. There is also no area with build number, so I can't just tap that 7 times.
I've been trying to flash a new Android OS onto it, but the problem is, I can't seem to get my computer to connect to it. I got the thing into recovery mode, but my computer just sees it as an unknown device, despite my having installed the Google driver, the ADB universal driver, and a couple others, so I'm pretty frustrated. I must admit I don't know what I'm doing, as I usually work with iPhone and Mac. Anyways, can someone help me flash a new Android OS on here and get my computer to see the device in recovery mode to start?

Android X86 8.1 install troubles

Hi there people!
Im having sort of an exotic trouble installing android X86 8.1 on an older PC. This one has ASRock H61 Board (UEFI) and im installing on SSD as SingleOS. When installing from UEFI BootStick and putting Grub2 (in UEFI disabled Secureboot) there is in UEFI Bootoptions "Android..." As choosable option. Booting this, nothing happens but telling to put proper boot device. I dont know what to do now? Live version boots proper. HD install boots too, but only one after fresh install directly from setup.
Anyone got any hints??
Thank you!
