Hi Remix team, could you add the video recording feature found in Android 4.4+ ?

How to update ?
I have this installed as a dual boot.
How do I safely update to the new version ?
Do I have to replace just certain file's or everything ?
If only certain file's, which one's ?

Quick change my physical keyboard layout
Yeah, but when i want to write both in ِarabic and in english in the same sentence i need to do that again and change it to enlgish again. I have chosen two languges and ctrl ּּּּ+ shift, ctrl ּּ+ alt, alt ּ+ shift doesnt work to change the phisical layout....

There is no system.img in the newest update, just a system.sfs. Why? How am I suppose to upgrade my current installation?

32-bit RemixOS would be awesome, because I'm not able to install RemixOS on my Dell Venue 8 Pro (32-bit UEFI...) yet.

Support for other than FAT32 system will be great, so we can have more free space for data.

Hi Remix team, thanks for sharing this update .
I have to say that I was expecting too much improving or , at least , much detail about that "minor bugs" , but I know that every step is important in achieving a good and stable product .
Time ago , I have asked to Jide for becoming a tester for Remix OS PC , but .... no answer , I hope this time I will get a positive answer from this team .
battery indicator , was really an important issue, great work !!
Regards

The question is: how to safely update to latest version?
And in the installer, just press TAB and write "INSTALL=1" and ENTER to install in NTFS or EXT4 to have all space you want.

What is safety update for you?
I used usb tool to install new version, then I deleted system.img from my USB drive, everything is OK...
I will try that command... Thanks

Very interested in 32-bit version.

Is it possible to install it on a hard disk and not on a USB drive? E. g. to install it on a VMware virtual machine.

You can install it on a virtual machine and actually on your hard drive (but you'll need a USB drive for install it I think).

Installing on hard drive needs USB, virtual machine I have no idea. But I saw some people talking about VirtualBox running Remix OS.

Keep up the good work @RemixOS_Jason , and please consider updates also regarding NVIDIA gpu-s, on my PC with gtx 970 the image is messed up both on DVI and on hdmi (I have dual-screen setup)

My PC can read from my USB drive at 20MB/s, but RemixOS refuses to boot, and tells me it can't even read the USB drive at 2MB/s
What's going on?

BerryBoot 2.0 for Raspberry Pi 1 & 2! [Muti-BOOT]

Hi,
I'm just a RPi2 user and I discover something really interesting for Raspberry Pi series, specially for not expert people!
There is a useful tool called Berryboot that allow to easy install many Operating Systems on the MicroSD of the Raspberry.
If you are interesting in Berroboot, you can download it here: BerryBoot official website
Here a video of BerryBoot in action:
https://youtu.be/oTrk-nbJQBA
You can find many videos on YouTube. :good:

I don't know, I enabled AUTO Update in configuration panel.
The other point is: how to overclock OpenELEC under Berryboot?
Did it update yours when enableling "auto update" ?
Mine just download the update, but fails to install. Probably because it registred that it has "wrong" kernel.
I did try to manually replace the system image as suggested in OpenElec forum, but it does not boot then.
I have the same issue. I want to update Openelec 5.0.3 to latest beta 5.95...but neither auto or manual work....with Berryboot, it seems to lock the kernal some how.
I want to multi boot between Openelec, RetroPie, and one or more other OS's....but berryboot seems to be problematic with updating them. I tried NOOBS but I could not get it to boot to any OS at all. Any other multiboot loaders or suggestions?

I think BerryBoot is better because:
- It is automated, no terminal command line required
- One MicroSD with ALL Operating Systems, no need of USB storage devices..
- Boot and install every pre-compiled OSs available
- You can compile your "personal" version of any ARM OS and boot in berryboot
... plus it's really easy to use. like the script variant mentioned before in form of a link, you can use usb for the whole os which delivers more stability if you overclock the pi where sd cards don't like that and your os get damaged over time in an overclocked environment.
BerryBoot 2 on Raspberry Pi2 w/ Kali and Adafruit 3.5 LCD
Hi, I have Berryboot running a few distro's including Kali. However the small LCD screen doesn't seem to work when using Berryboot.
I tried getting the LCD to work many times w/ Berryboot and can't seem to get it to work.
Anyone else try this?

Does anyone know where there is a repository for Raspberry Pi2 / Berryboot (Squashsf) distros? Converting them seems like a pain.

The official berryboot images that are used for the network setup are available on sourceforge, but are quite outdated.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/berryboot/files/os_images/
I found the process of converting the official images to squashfs not too tiresome using virtualized Linux Mint. However, some distros, like the latest version of Ubuntu Mate and OSMC are not compatible with berryboot. Having wasted some hours, I can say that squashfs limits some OS features (eg. updates, partition behaviour) and performance. On the whole, if you are serious about doing something on each of the distros, then the best approach is to use separate SD cards for each distro, convenient and offers full OS functionality. Otherwise, berryboot is a good way to just check out the various OS available, provided it is compatible with squashfs.
Thank you so much for the reply. Ya, considering the limitations, I think I'll just stick with individual SD cards.. It was more out of convenience... But I am constantly updating and changing something, so prob not best method. Thanks

Hello,
Using RPi2. This works on my 16GB Samsung SD works fine but it won't work on my Sony 64GB. I can use "Image Writer" to write a bootable image to the 64GB SD and works but for some reason I can't get the BerryBoot to boot. I used SDFormatter and confirmed it's FAT32. Any one having similar issues?
Thx

NOOBS portable installer / Pocket-Pi-Pc

NOOBS portable installer
a simple program im building allowing users to customize NOOBS, basically a commandline graphical utillity that gives you options to unpack the base of NOOBS, adding OS/'s to the project, format the sdcard and write to sdcard
eventually i will be adding the option to attempt to make unsupported OS to NOOBS.
this project delivers what i have said, its very basic at the moment but gets the job done and is a great place to start off.
also, everything is downloaded from the official raspberry pi website so when they update, thats the software we are getting.

I never thought about that but now its been mentioned yes i will, ill mlre then likely build tonight, its a horrible process, takes a couple hours(building, file transfers, shstem information, tests) but depending on the system and how and if i need to modify it to get complete it succesafully is the concern, the rest of the process should be fine

Are they already noobs compatible?
if it is standard img,I can losetup and partx, and than make tgz, txz.the key question is to avoid download from internet every time I recover the system.and not to avoid other linux when recovering if one crashed.

ill make the installer download and store locally for use
theres no way you can make a standard single img file for noobs, its a process of seperating the kernel and the root, allocating the required space to partitions, naming the partitions, mounting the partitions and having the correct format for each partition.
if you dont know much about partitioning, fs formats and sizes of fs then do some research, could get dangerous
I do this manually. But I see the kernel and root are already seperated in two partitions in standard img.

Noobs just uses a preconfigured compressed FS with attributes locked to the files, it dooesnt supprt standard .img files only tar.xz files
The tar compresses it to a single files and xz compresses it alot but the downfall is xz can only compress 1 file thats why its packed into a tarball first
I mean boot.tar.xz is taken from boot partition in std img file, which is commonly the first partition and just tar xz directly without modification. and it is similar as root.tar.xz.am i right?

Can you post a list of Gapps included? I am particularly interested in Google Exchange Services.
I'm gonna try this since I haven't tested the 32b setups but question, would you by any chance know if the OTA updater is still working after all your fixes? Or would you know a few tricks to get it to work on an ssd installation. For some reason I was able to do it on USB setups but I can't for the life of me get it to update on my Main desktop and I've reinstalled and reconfigured all kinds if things for the last week or so trying to get it to install and actually update...thanks either way.
Thanks, this is how Jide should release it - fully rooted and setup.

Bro this hacked edition has many system files modified...so technically...OTA won't work....but I will release OTA as patches which can be applied from windows. For ssd installation...I haven't tried that....also I will upload the captured OTA for 32 bit....you can try that if u are on official version....but if u are on my version no need to update....the latest OTA is already installed???

You can run this script from command line:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3gcDbDvV4MkNVo0d1d5djlRTXc/view?usp=drivesdk
Just download the file Playenable.sh, and then run Terminal app (already installed)
Type sh /data/media/0/Download/Playenable.sh
Then reboot before opening Play Store

Have you looked around this forum a bit? Follow these instructions exactly, and you'll have a good working VB install:

It's not confirmed since other people are reporting Play Services/Play Store is working fine as before. A couple people having issues while others are not is not confirmation of anything. FYI

[DISCONTINUED][OS] Mint4Kitchen - A Kitchen ready version of Linux Mint 19

NO LONGER MAINTAINED!!!
Mint4Kitchen
A Linux Mint 19 distro with all the things you need to get the kitchen working easily.
This was created using the official Linux Mint 19 iso. It is basically an updated and repacked version of the original iso image.
Here are the changes from standard Linux Mint:
All dependencies are met for easy kitchen install
SuperRs-Kitchen installer/launcher is a pre-installed app
Thunderbird, and LibreOffice have been removed
It should work in VM, usb live boot, or dvd. Launch SuperRs-Kitchen ("S" icon) from the panel or the app drawer to get started
NOTE: The Installer will not work in Live boot.
Download:
Mint4Kitchen-19-3-cinnamon-64bit.iso
reserved
These are phenomenal! Nice job, @SuperR.

They both function exactly the same. It only depends on your preference.
If you like Ubuntu, you should use Ubuntu4Kitchen. If you like Linux Mint, you should use Mint4Kitchen

One more thing. This includes the updates and patches of linux mint? No need to update this via instalation?

It is up to date as of the upload date on the file. Both distributions have their own updaters that will keep you up to date after install. It is exactly the same as Ubuntu and Linux Mint.

The updates like codecs and patches? Wow thank you. Googled linux mint. Need the patches as their is a meltdown.
Tested right now and already flashed a new rom for my device. This is better and also much faster than ubuntu. Thank you so much for this.

And also did you tweak the OS? And added some tweaks for this?

No tweaks. The only changes I made are mentioned in the OP. This is still Linux Mint, but with kitchen dependencies pre-installed. The Linux Mint updater will keep your Mint install up to date, and the kitchen updater will keep the kitchen up to date

Will you implement tweaking in the future? This is a nice OS though. Hope you could spend time tweaking the OS and optimize it for better use.

You can tweak it yourself cuz it's a Kitchen-ready distro, any other tweaks after installation are at your personal discretion

How to install the new version of Kitchen in Linux Mint 18.2, if I can not go to the download page of the new Kitchen
One note for Virtualbox users; if you ended up with messed up colors after booting, do this (at least this method forcing xrandr to re-detect the monitor and display in the proper resolution worked for me):
Hit Right Ctrl+Alt+F1 (you will see the shell) and then Right Ctrl+Alt+F7. Depending on the Virtualbox configuration use Left Ctrl+Alt together instead of Right Ctrl. You are good to proceed with the installation.
New version posted in the OP
Changes:
New launcher/installer app compatible with the new donate kitchen downloads.
Launcher/installer is now in the app drawer.
OS Fully updated
NOTE: I have removed Mint4Kitchen 18.2 as very few people are using it (I don't blame you )
