AICPAndroid Ice Cold Project
AICP is known by everyone as Ice Cold Project that started on Desire HD and since then evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community you can find!!!
Until Lollipop, Rom has always been AOKP based. Unfortunately, since AOKP either stopped development or will make a comeback later this year, we changed our base to CM when it comes to hardware, drivers and some features.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them or CM team if it concerns their modifications. This rom isn't CM supported so no need to report errors or bugs to them!!

You tell...
ROMS should contain everything you need to enjoy MM. You are not required to install any Add Ons, simply download the latest ROM, gapps, flash it, and go!
You are STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing, and if possible avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup - these can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug. If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience strange behavior.
How to flash:
Don't do it if you don't know it
ROM has gapps persistance in between dirty flashes
KERNEL:
Kernel in this rom follows CM source with custom additions.
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA:
To be able to flash over OTA app, TWRP recovery is needed.
You can still use CWM and OTA app, but only to download zip file and flash it manually from within recovery. Zip gets saved under AICP_ota folder on your internal SDcard.
If you want to contribute to the AICP or wanna see what is being worked on/merge feel free to visit our gerrit, link is at the bottom!!!

How did you get it to boot all I get is the one plus boot animation and it stays stuck on there??

Here's what I did to get it to boot:
1) Wipe system, data, cache, and dalvik cache. (If you're coming from CM12.1 or OOS, I would also advise wiping internal storage. In this case, you'd have to adb push the files over after doing the full wipe.)
2) Flash ROM.
3) Flash OpenGapps. (I used nano for 6.0 ARM.)
4) Flash SuperSU zip. (I used v2.67.)
5) Wipe cache + dalvik cache.
6) Reboot.
---------- Post added at 08:50 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:34 PM ----------
Some good things I noticed while testing this ROM:
- Fast and fluid, I love it.
- Lots more options available over stock CM13.
- First boot didn't take that long.
Some strange things I noticed, but not deal-breakers:
ROM does not have a custom boot animation, so the default "android" boot animation is shown. FIX: Flash a custom boot animation.
ROM might get stuck at "preparing contacts storage" upon first boot. FIX: Force a reboot.
ROM gets stuck at the AICP wallpaper with progress bar at the bottom (after setup). FIX: Pull down the notification bar, go into settings, then hit the back button.
ROM does not come with a built-in Messaging app. FIX: Install any Messaging app from the Play Store.
ROM comes with no APNs. FIX: Look up the right APNs for your carrier and add them manually.
Hotspot/Flashlight toggle does not show up in Quick Settings. FIX: Toggle Hotspot once manually in the settings. Not sure about how to make the Flashlight stick.
When switching between SIMs, I couldn't get LTE on the SIM I switched to. Stuck on Edge. FIX: Reboot.
When switching to 2G in Preferred Networks, it gets stuck there forever. (i.e. you cannot switch to 3G or LTE.) FIX: No idea, lol.
Camera does not save photos when taking a picture. However, videos work with the Google Camera app. FIX: None that I know of yet.
Will find out more as I test. Great work so far, OP!

1, The bootanimation you can easily change with cm themes
2, stuck at "preparing contacts storage" upon first boot. it's actually not stuck, it's just really long. I waited for awhile but only on the 1st boot.
3, I didn't get stuck on that part. after the wallpaper and progress bar, it goes straight to main.
4, did the same. haha
5, Mine comes with APN tho. weird..

Np , you can pm me if you need any help

I think this is the best MM ROM I've used so far. Its near perfect. Just a few things though:
1. It would be great if the CM Terminal was used
2. I can't map the capacitive keys. I'm getting used to it though. Its really awkward for left handed use though
Thabkd for the ROM. Now all we need is MultiROM so that I can seamlessly run this and Sailfish haha

A: Shoot us a Suggestion if you want to see something added. While we are not going to promise to implement, we will always look into it

Basic Instructions:
Download ROM .zip file
Download KitKat GApps - * See Note Below! *
Download latest SuperSU flashable
Reboot to Recovery (Note: Use Three-Finger or adb reboot recovery - ROM Manager or similar software is NOT supported)
--- TWRP is the ONLY recovery Team OctOs uses - We do not support flashing on CWM ---
Flash ROM, GApps, SuperSU .zip files
Clear Dalvik/Cache
Reboot
A Note about the Team OctOs GApps
We in Team OctOs believe in choices. We believe in leaving the fundamental decisions about your phone to you.
In that spirit, Team OctOs gives you options for your GApps experiences. While any ODEX'ed GApps package should work, we offer you the choice of using some of the same GApps packages that we use ourselves, and leave the choice up to you.
You can find our Team OctOs GApps packages here, and break down into the following types:
GPe - Google Experience
Regular GPe GApps
Dalvik-Enhanced GPe GApps
AOSP
AOSP GApps
Dalvik-Enhanced AOSP GApps
The Dalvik-Enhanced packages are NOT ART compatible. If you plan to run ART, don't use those.

Nice! Thanks for bringing this to us!
gonna check it have been hoping for a good daily aosp rom! thanks for the hard work!
I have a question...i am looking for a 4.3 rom to work with my Galaxy Gear....if i were to flash this Rom and then install the Samsung apps APK to get the Gear Manager app would that work or do i definetly need a Touchwiz rom?
Cant wait to give it a spin!

Thank you for the ROM, and for the no B.S. 1st post!
Just making presence known. I'm currently building for every carrier and we will have a new built that will for sure work for sprint and verizon, but might also work for all other 7 carriers too.
DevBox is ticking away. I think I'm 3 carriers from being done.

thanks im flashing right now so ill give you an update!
Everything works. We've been sneakily testing it in conjunction with the VZW Build.
3G EVDO Rev.A, eHRPD, and LTE all work.
GPS, Bluetooth, etc all work.
And yes, the Aroma Installer can be used to flash GApps and/or Kernels without redoing the entire ROM (though that is also an option).
quick little update
camera works
gps locks quick fast
3g and LTE
SMS and MMS
rom seems snappy quick and responsive

@agat63 has made the kernel for us, but doesn't release it separately. Currently, he is working on his TW kernel and will turn his attention back this way when he has the chance.
The stock kernel isn't a slouch! I suggest trying it. Remember, the installer package can be used to switch kernels.

We don't include it, and I don't use it, but no reason it shouldn't work of it works on other AOSP ROMs. What do you mean by "wonky"? Meaning showing low?
2 bars for -88dB is pretty fair I think.

You know what, I just reread the OP. I guess I'll change this. What Samsung Apps are compatible with this? For instance, if I so desired could I pull the phone/dialer from a TW Rom and plug it into this with the stock and/or any other custom kernel?

About Us:
Dirty Unicorns is a project that started out with no name. It was a project that was first created based off AOKP back in the early days of Jelly Bean because of curiosity. In the early days it was just a one man show on one device (EVO 3D). Since then many others have joined the project and it has grown a whole lot. We have seen a lot of talent contribute to this project of ours and many of our contributors have gone to help other projects and that is ultimately why we do what we do.
Once Jelly Bean was over, we decided in Kitkat to move to a new base which was OmniROM. While AOKP was fun, OmniROM proved to be even more exciting because it challenged us to see what we could with something different.
With Lollipop, we have moved to an AOSP base with a lot of patches from CAF to make our older devices function as they should. That said it has been an awesome learning experience and is still not over! We are still learning every day and continue to move forward.
Few more things we will say is that we don't accept nor ask for donations. We don't believe in that. Everything that is necessary to keep this project going is out of our own pocket. Gerrit, Jenkins, Websites, Devices, etc.....
We will never ask for a dime. All we do ask is that you search, read and try to enjoy the process with us!!

That's a good news!!
Tell us more about this version!
Is it root?
Do we need special kernel?
Any bugs (LTE, wifi, bluetooth, GPS)
Add-ons?
Do we need to do a full wipe if coming from the 8.2 unicorn version?

OMG! It's Dirty Unicorn! I've been waiting for so long! I'm gonna flash it now straightaway.
I'll tell you if there's any bugs or problem! :highfive:
Sorry if I seem stupid, but we can assume : 1 This is an stock based custom Rom, not AOSP or AOKP. 2 The kernel is stock tweaked.
So, we flash it through custom recovery following your instructions.
Excuse me, I'm pretty newby into the Nexus world. Even I don't have yet touched my N7 3g!
I'm yet into the grabbing information here & there phase...
Thanks for your job!

Take note that this ROM is for nexus 7 LTE , don't flash it on 3g or wifi variants!

Wait what ?
1. There is no 3G version of the 2013 nexus 7
2. If this ROM boots for you , well then you own a nexus 7 lte (deb)
3. Network should be fine , go and check your APN settings
Oops, sorry, I had set up my cellular incorrectly and ticked 3g, silly old bugger. Also my data had expired. Keep up the good work your end.

Still no LTE on mine,no apn settings coming up,dropped back to another lollipop ROM and works fine.
Tried installing with multirom. But it just stays on the start up screen

Following on what I posted earlier!
The LTE doesn't work. When I boot my phone for the first time, it checks for service connection. After 5 minutes, it failed. Tried to skip and then when to settings and check there is no SIM card & APN is empty. I tried adding my service APN but still it's not working.
Thank you very much for your hard work. I love all the DU stuff that you add in, it's awesome! Looking forward to more.

Flash the ROM at your own risk.
I accept NO responsibility for what you do (or can't do) with your own device. I am not responsible for bootloops, fruitloops or frickazees.
I DO accept responsibility for: Thermonuclear detonation & Zombie Apocalypse.
1) Backup & Factory reset then flash in recovery:
TWRP 3.0.0-0 (if anyone flashes with a higher version, please report)
2) Flash Gapps (recommend micro) - http://opengapps.org/
3) Screen will blank after a few minutes on the initial startup after flashing, the first boot may take several minutes (be patient, it will boot)
I started compiling this ROM as Unofficial because I have been using AICP exclusively for 2 years (on M7 & now Bacon) and figure if no one objects I can share some of the work. This is my HOBBY.
With that I say THANK YOU AICP (LorD ClockaN, n3ocort3x & semdoc along with their entire dev team) for bringing such terrific work to our devices. Special thanks to LorD ClockaN (motivation, encouragement, help & backbone of Official AICP), Pranav Cherukupalli & the legwork for the sources & kernels by Amaradeep Arora.
I make no claim to doing any more than compiling and making minor changes to what I want from the build. I own this device and enjoy making some minor modifications & tinkerings - I hope you will also. PEACE.
Basic Changes from "Official" AICP Rom:
OTA is NOT enabled on my build
(dirty flashing an "Official" over my build & vice versa does work, most changes I made are cosmetic with some cherri-picks)
I don't recommend "backwards" flashing dirty - so check the build dates
Custom Boot Animation
Unofficial AICP Logos [WIP]
Custom App for Unofficial Wallpapers (Thank you Jason Townley for the awesome Game or ROMs screen)

Please do not use issues with these builds to ask for help on the official thread. If you get an error, random reboot, etc. attach a logcat to any requests for help if possible. - Thank you
Recommended Gapps:
MUST flash 7.1 Gapps on the latest build. Tested with Slim's Revisited & opengapps / both boot fine.
Sim Revisited Gapps
TWRP 3.0 - Read this entire page first! If you flash with a higher version, please comment and let us know if it is successful.
- Nandroid / Backup your device!
- Standard factory reset wipe (recommended unless dirty flashing over THIS build)
- Flash Rom
- Flash Gapps 7.1
- Reboot

New build 12/14 - new (WIP) TWRP Flashable boot-animation
The 12/12 build was constantly freezing up on me. I was using open gapps and I had a calendar has stopped working report. I was forced to stop using it because of the crashes were happening too often so I didn't get to notice more bugs.
I am downloading the 12/14 build and hope to test it tomorrow. Thanks
---------- Post added at 05:13 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:40 AM ----------
So spent a little time with it. I turned Google now on tap on and it said Google has crashed. Did that twice and then it stopped trelling me it wasn't working.
Also, when I tried to delete some quick settings buttons, the system ui would crash
That all I noticed but very nice Rom man. Buttery smooth.
Oh, BTW, I noticed I can't customize what the back button does but I can the menu and home button. Is that like that for all mm roms? I've been trying to find one but haven't seen one yet.
I haven't tried gravity box but on other mm roms, gravity box wasn't working. They may have updated it now but at least about a week ago it wasn't working.

Are you using opengapps? I don't use Google Now because of the battery drain, but I tried on the latest build and didn't get any crash with "Ok Google" from voice activated or from the search bar.
I had issues with editing quick settings buttons on 12/12 build (actually reboot), 12/14 was more stable I think too. My 12/12 build was compiled early in the AM (05:22AM), later that day there were some merges for settings tiles that may have not made it into that build. There have been some more changes according to gerritt - I will re-sync and compile again this afternoon.

Yes. Exactly, except the newest build I can not change quick setting buttons. Also, Google now on tap doesn't work. I have not used it yet because no mm roms I've used works with it yet... Haven't tried a lot of mm roms.
Dev for this, will you please add customizable back button. I've got way to used to it on roms now. I don't like doing xposed cause its one more thing to screw up for me. Regardless, I will prolly just set the menu button up if the back key isn't added.

AICPAndroid Ice Cold ProjectAICP is known by everyone as Ice Cold Project that started on Desire HD and since then evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community you can find!!!
Until Lollipop, Rom has always been AOKP based. Unfortunately, since AOKP stopped development (but made a comeback later), we changed our base to CM when it comes to hardware, drivers and some features.
With the rebrand of CM to LineageOS (LOS) we are now actually LOS based.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them out or LOS team, if it concerns their modifications. This rom isn't LOS supported, so no need to report errors or bugs to them!!

Don't disable Heads-Up. You might not be able to answer phone calls otherwise.
You tell...
The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android Nougat. You don't need to install any Add-Ons, simply download the latest ROM, GApps, flash it, and go!
It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing, and if possible avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug.
If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience strange behavior.
How to flash:
Again: Don't do it if you don't know it!
TWRP is the recommended custom recovery (and needed for OTA Updates)
1. full wipe
2. flash ROM
3. flash GApps
(The ROM has GApps persistance in between dirty flashes, so you only have to flash them once!
.
KERNEL:
Kernel in this ROM follows LOS source with custom additions.
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA:
To be able to flash over OTA app, TWRP recovery is needed.
You can still use CWM/LOS recovery and OTA app, but you will need to download the zip file and flash it manually from within your recovery. Zip gets saved under AICP_ota folder on your internal SDcard.
Please be sure that you are on the latest TWRP recovery.

So what's the Magisk crap? Why can't we just use SuperSU? I did a clean install, wiped system and cache before flashing, and it just says "not rooted" under the Magisk app. AOPK has root working normally out of the box.

Well, that sounds like it would be nice, but it's not working for me at all. I can't pass safety check, even though I'm doing a full wipe and clean install. What's the secret? If I turn off the hide feature that makes it pass basicIntegrity, but not ctsProfile.

Actually its not you. After updating different ROMs its stopped working. Maybe it has something to do with the developers updating to the 67 ota source
Mine sust says insert SIM
Instead of corrupted mine always says I need to insert a SIM when I do a clean install, when of course there is a working SIM alreay inserted. Im on a CDMA carrier, Sprint to be precise and I have the XT1687 variant 4GB/64GB. Does the same thong on all ROM's I have tried so far. But mine does in fact acivate in the background eventually if I just leave it sit for a bit. ROM seems fine after that although I can't do updates to PRL or Profile updates in Carrier Settings as that alway causes com.android.phone to crash. I have uploaded logcats in the Lineage OS hoping there is a US based devloper who can look at the issue that also has a US version of the phone.

Hmm, I didn't think to think that being a secondary could be the reason WiFi doesn't work for me either. I doubt it but ya never know.
WiFi is the last main piece not working. Everything else seems pretty good.

Definitely NOT multirom related.
I installed the ROM (4th of november release) twice as a singular ROM on my spare G3.
The wifi works fine upon install but after a while, and at least 2 reboots...
It stops working all together.
I manage to screnshot the error.
Unfortunately the forum doors not allow the upload of media (for regular users like myself).
"Failed to save network" is the error.
Sent from my LG-V500 using Tapatalk
Thanks @DTTR for the confirmation.
Hmm, not sure why you can't upload pics. You're a senior member and been around awhile. Should be able to post pics. Probably a temporary XDA or Tapatalk glitch. I couldn't do the same not too long ago.
ZTE Axon 7 A2017U, Dark ROM, Tapatalk 4.9.5
So, I installed the 7.11 release.
One reboot (intentional). The WiFi disconnected and never auto-conected. I had to go into settings and toggle the WiFi.
Now. About the crDroid 4 thread.
The 3.X thread stated whether the ROM was rooted or not. Maybe it's worth mentioning in the first post that the ROM is not rooted.
Now about ROM requests.
I would really like to have the Clear all button on Recent apps down, not up...
Meanwhile I'm accommodating with O.
I'm still a M guy. My main G3 runs on stock M rooted with lots of Tasker profiles which do not run on N and O.
Good job crDroid team!

I've been testing the ROM for almost 3 days, with the first install the ROM was feeling laggy and the phone was a little hotter, but I wiped everything and now it feels smoother.
WiFi and data works good, haven't had a single disconnect issue so far. GPS is working great. I am using Footej and it really helps to improve camera resolution.
I haven't been able to test a fully charged round of battery, but I feel battery life is comparable to crDroid 7.
I may have been experiencing some LOS bugs but the ROM feels pretty stable for daily use, the only thing is not working for me is ADB over USB, I have been using it over network but that is not secure.
Overall, great work firebird11, I bet that with those bugs fixed this ROM will become pretty solid.
Thanks for the effort and time put in this.
In D851 the WiFi does not turn on, the MAC stays 00: 20: 00: 00: 00: 00
Great work thanks for the ROM
Got a very minor big on the lockscreen.
# Swipe on the lockscreen to bring up the pattern screen (or any screen I think)
# Press the back button.
Instead of going back to the swipe lockscreen the screen is now completely blank (just your wallpaper).

Does this Rom have tap to sleep?
Click to collapse
yes, you can do it on status bar and also on navigation bar. Also if you install another launcher you can do it in any part of the screen
