You could just try and use the legacy version which is compatible with most computers. The EFI version is compatible on modern computers that include Windows 10 (to my knowledge)

Thank you so much for taking the time. I will do that then. I suppose F2 or F12 should get me into the bios settings but can't find safe info on that and am afraid of messing up ...

Thanks again for taking the time. Was able to disable security mode and changed the default option to pen, with the lagacy version..It seemed like something was happening differently, took longer but then the pc booted again from disc so there must be something i am doing wrong. I will have to check it all , but thanks again for helping me troubleshooting, i am now closer to be able to install remix than before

I don't do cloning as a profession (yet). I've only cloned my Epic 4G on Boost mobile including free EVDO, but the problem is that speed of Boost (Sprint) are low and some places have bad reception. That's why I'm working on putting it on Verizon prepaid.

The fix I have for QXDM install error (Win7x64 or other) is uninstall ie10 (control panel, uninstall a program, view installed updates, after list loads, find Internet Explorer 10, select and uninstall). After restart, QXDM will then install, reinstall ie10. done.
- Of course QPST must be installed 1st and working (configuration win7x64, qpst 2.7 366, qxdm 3.9.19 or most likely, this is a fix for any version w/ the "QXDM requires ie ver 5 or 6" error).
Just a note about this solution: The goal here is to revert your IE to a version below 10. If you have version 11, you will need to follow the steps twice (uninstalling 11 will revert to 10, etc.). You will likely need to restart between each reversion.
After poking around, I found that the installer looks at the file version of iexplore.exe - and nothing else. As such, you should be able to subvert the requirement by tricking the installer into looking at ANY file with a version between 5 and 10. Since iexplore.exe may be protected, the easiest method is to rename your Internet Explorer folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer) and create a new one to place the new exe into, then rename it iexplore.exe! (I tested this with an old Dreamweaver.exe file I found.)

How to install it on my HDD ?

Hi, So I've got a notebook that I don't use anymore and I would like to put Remix OS / Phoenix OS on it, but wherever I look I can't find any tutorial about how to get this OS on the internal HDD !
The point is that I don't want to us it on a USB drive, and I don't want a Dual Boot either, I just want to have Remix OS / Phoenix OS as the main and only operating system on that computer.
Anyone has a solution ? Already tried to take the HDD out and use USBMaker to burn the OS directly to the HDD, but USBMaker (and other software such as Unetbootin) won't even show my hdd in the USB list ...
Make usb
Yhan maje a partition on hhd than copy all files fro musb to yout partion. And than boot from partion. And i guess you di t oook either cuz there is plwnty of thread to install in on HDD
Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk
Just copying the files from the USB Drive to the HDD doesn't work, I get a boot error when I try to boot from the HDD by doing so...
So I've tried everything I could, but I still can't get those OS to boot from the internal HDD ...
What error do you get... im guessing you dont have ufi system?. Try searching on youtube.. There is plenty of atep by step videos.
Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk
"Boot Error" That's what appears on my screen.
Every videos are showing how to dual boot... My goal is to install this OS on my laptop which has no OS installed yet, the only thing I managed to do is to boot on Phoenix OS with the USB Key, but that's too laggy as my USB ports suck.
Yes I'm on Legacy.
The strange part is that they don't provide a bootable image which actually INSTALL the OS, they only provide an IMAGE of the OS already usable...

You could try this installer.
For the distribution scroll all the way to bottom and select unknown.
Check the box for show all drives.
Edit...helps if I post the link.

Install on Hard Disk without create partition?

Until now I was testing Remix on a flash drive, most of the stuff is running great, so I think it's time to try it on the HD.
So here's the question, it's possible to install RemixOS on HD without create partition?
I want Remix to be installed in a regular folder in my HD, with an option to select it in the OS selector when PC starts, and I want it to use data.img instead of something else... Basically just like Phoenix OS.
Is this possible?
Thx..
Cheers...

dude, all you need to do is to look on jide's web
For Hard Disk Installation:
NOTE: Currently, installation tool only supports Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows 10, with a minimum capacity of 8GB. Users of other operating systems, please install on USB flash drive.
1. Download the Remix OS for PC package, which contains the Remix OS for PC ROM & Installation Tool.
2. Open the Remix OS Installation Tool and follow the instructions to install Remix OS for PC on your hard disk.
3. Reboot your PC.
NOTE for UEFI boot: press special key (F12 for Dell, F9 for HP, F12 for Lenovo, Option Key for MAC) while booting to enter boot menu and ensure that Secure Boot is disabled.
4. Select Remix OS in Windows Boot Menu.

Thanks, I already saw this...
But in this guide it's not clear what the installation tool will do, if it will create partitions, if it will format something etc... Take the USB installation as an example, I never thought it would create 3 partitions on it...
That's why I'm asking this... Besides, I saw many people unable to boot into Windows after some sort of HD installation of Remix.
Have you tried this method of installation?
If yes, how is the structure of the directory, what files are in there, is it using data.img?
Cheers...

The hard drive installation will create a folder called "RemixOS" and add a boot entry for it in the Windows boot loader. In that folder is the kernel, initrd.img, system.img, menu.lst and some other files. An 8 GB data.img will be created on first boot. Those who have problems with booting are typically using a third-party method to install it.

It appears that for the issue mentioned in the link you posted the solution is to simply disable Secure Boot. I don't have much experience with UEFI myself, but on a BIOS system the installer worked perfectly, it didn't break either Windows or Linux Mint.

I expanded the data.img using this tutorial (http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/android-tp2/138623-how-get-bigger-data-img.html). Don't mind the fact that it was originally made for Windows Mobile devices running Android on SD card, the concept is the same (add zeros to the end of data.img, then expand the partition table in the data.img to cover the extra space).

And does it take too long to boot? I'm asking this because I expanded the data.img of Phoenix OS, and since then it takes a lot more time to boot.

nope, as long as your data.img is much smaller than your actual harddisk, you will have no problems with speed.
yes, the instalation tool asks you what size you want to use, either 8, 16 or 32 GB can be chosen

Touchscreen working only in middle (Pls HELP)

I have tried to find a solution everywhere and I am a bit desperate now. I already had a thread here about installing RemixOS on my tab Slide i701, but no one ever seemed to reply. But, now please suggest what I should be doing.
So, I have a iBall Slide i701. I installed RemixOS to a 16GB SD Card (in a Card Reader, not the internal SD reader) using Androidx86 installer and have successfully booted into RemixOS, but I have to use keyboard and mouse to navigate. But, when I check, the touchscreen works in the middle portion but the touches are registered about 3cm left to area of touch.
What I've tried:-
1. Tried different builds of Androidx86 and PhoenixOS. Touch doesn't work on anoyone of them.
2. Tried using "ts_calibrate", but it says not found.
3. Tried using "rmmod i2c-hid" and "modprobe i2c-hid" and it still doesn't work.
4. Tried Calibration tool on Android 4.4 r2 and r3 but they don't detect the touches at all!
5. Weeks of Googling.
If it helps, the tab has an Intel Atom Z3735G CPU and under Device Manager (Windows 10) HID-compliant touch screen has the following Device instance path - "HID\MSSL1680&COL01\4&18B47517&1&0000"
Looking forward to your suggestions.
I checked the BIOS for any problems and stumbled upon certain options under OS/BOM Configuration. I saw 5 different options under Touch Panel - Ntrig, MSSL, ChipOne, Focaltech, Goodix and Disable Touch Panel. Will changing them help in any manner since I just switched to ChipOne and the touch stopped working on Windows 10 with a new uninstalled driver in Device Manager.
Guys, please any suggestion?

First of all thanks for your reply.
It was configured as MSSL which worked perfectly on Windows 10. Anyways, I tried all of the options except Disable Touch Panel while booting to RemixOS but the touch doesn't work. But, I couldn't try rmmod and modprobe commands because the OS would take a lot of time and hang if I used a USB port to add the keyboard.

I don't have an option for that, because the device is not a 2in1. I have to add the keyboard with OTG and as already said, I can add the microSD card (on a reader) and the keyboard on a USB hub but it just makes the whole process of loading RemixOS take ages/it just simply hangs.
Anyways, is there a way to incorporate the two commands so that it automatically boots with RemixOS like adding it to init.sh?

Theoretically yes, however I have no experience with init.d, generally not having any use for it.
But can you type the command, then disconnect the keyboard, and then click on enter on the software keyboard to send the command?
Using Terminal Emulator.

I had thought about that. Imma try that too. I'll let you know. Anyways, right now I am gonna try editing the init.sh file on an Android x86 file since it needs root which is available on Android x86 4.4 r3. I am also downloading the prerooted RemixOS to test it if it's successful on Android x86.
I'll keep you posted.
Okay! I tried adding rmmod and modprobe to Androidx86 4.4 r3 with a mouse on everyone of the touch panel options but none of them make the touchscreen work!

I'll check later in the those forums, I remember seeing something similar when I had set up Arch for the first time (the installation is pseudo-manual, but no GUI, just CLI, every step is by commands).

Hi vistatech
First of all thank you bro. You are the first guy to start a thread about this wonderful tablet.
I also own Iball Slide i701 tab.
It comes with win 8.1 single language with bing installed. It is an amazing tablet with such low price tag. I bought it for only ₹ 2999 from flipkart . It is the best ever device that I ever had.
Everything is working fine but when I installed win 10 on it then it becomes a piece of junk.
No touch response, no sound ,infact the hardware keys are not working. I search for it and found that it is an driver issue then downloaded the win 10 driver for it from the official website. Now touch , rotation sensor ,the hardware keys are working (thank god) but I was unable to adjust the screen brightness, time & date was wrong, etc.
So, can you please help me to sort out this problem.
Any Help was appreciated.
Note : I made a clean install of win 10.

[How-To] Install Windows on Android version [YB1-X90L/F]

Hello guys!
I'm starting this thread as I managed to install win10 on my X90L (Android) YogaBook
It was not easy to find a way to fix the ACPI error but it is possible!
Will update this post in a few hours with a guide on how to do it yourself.
UPDATE: link to the guide -> poz1.com/windows-on-android-lenovo-yogabook/
PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU CONTINUE YOU WILL END UP WITH A YOGABOOK WITHOUT INPUT DEVICES!!!
(EXTERNAL KEYBOARD WILL BE NEEDED) AND NO ANDROID INSTALL!!!
So far i got almost everything working except:
- Touchscreen
- Keyboard
- Webcam in the keyboard panel (the other one works fine)
- NFC
- Backlight Control (added 25/5/2018)
I'm getting very near to have the touch and the keyboard working though
P.s. In attach you find the outputs from 3DMark - IceStorm Extreme (default settings), would be much appreciated if someone with the real Win version shared its score
Any chance of posting you work to date. Got an X90F just crying out for Windows.

Thanks for posting this. I am really so impressed. Will be trashing my X90F tomorrow. Just got to dig out a powered USB hub. Ill report back, and lets see what happens.

{ etc.. } section from the DSTDroid.dsl and use it to replace the equivalent section in the DSTWin.dsl in your files.
Then compile the DSTWin.dsl with the
iasli -ta DSDTWin.dsl
command.
This is how I am reading it, but have not managed to get it to work yet.
It decompiles with the two errors you mention, but wont recompile no matter how I try it.
I am using Notepadd++ so its not hidden characters.
Any thoughts, and thanks again for your efforts on this.

Hello Broomfundel,
I never got that error, but it seems to be a problem of the ASL Compiler build not of your file.
I am using Mac so I have another build, if you want to post the file I can compile it for you .
Otherwise you can try an older release or to build the tool from source maybe?

- NFC
I'm getting very near to have the touch and the keyboard working though

Hi, i have the Lenovo Yoga Book Windows version, im crying to install Stock Android on it, can you PLZ write a guide about doing it, or at least if there is a way to install the kernelflinger.efi or the fastboot mode on YB windows it will be great.
to fix the whole bugs you faced, try to reinstall windows 10 using this methode https://forum.xda-developers.com/yoga-book/how-to/windows-guide-creating-windows-10-t3718823
Thanks

Hi,
KernelFlinger is opensource and come with an installer, it should be pretty simple to install it.
Right now I don't have my YogaBook as I am travelling but I can try in the next few days
OK, Older release worked, but I get a .hex file, your instructions talk about a new aml file. Do I use the .hex file or is there another option other than the -ta one that would create the aml.
BTW. I am enjoying this. So thanks again.

With the -ta option I get both the .hex and the .aml file but you can try -tc if it doesn't work. Maybe due to the different build
P.s. (for other people that may incur in this) If you don't get the output files check that you have as last line of the terminal
"Compilation complete. 0 Errors"
OK, I am getting 7 errors. My current theory is that the DSTDWin.dsl will only compile with the same version number of the compiler it was decompiled with. I have attached my DSDTDroid.dsl so you can have a go. At least it will prove I got things right up to that point. Might be worth posting the original DSTDWin.aml for me to try this end.
If we are lucky it might turn out that the patched DSTDWin.aml files are consistent across the same model devices.
So... It seems both pen mode and keyboard mode of holo keyboard won't work... Am I right?
It's sad that if they won't work even we install the drivers from the lenovo website

Have you tried with the ISO from this forum with the Windows injected drivers? Here https://forum.xda-developers.com/yoga-book/how-to/windows-guide-creating-windows-10-t3718823
As Poz1 is obviously busy at the moment. Can anyone else get the DSTDWin.aml file for me to try and decode?
Thanks
Sorry guys I've been busy with university

There you go I'm also updating the files DSTDWin of my blog with one with some fixes Well they depend on the settings you use in your Bios (that's why Windows may not boot after install, it changes some parameters (the wait time of the bios and the default boot partition)). When you use the builtin one is the bios that "updates" it for you but for now we need to do it by hand If we are going to end with everything working we can release a patched "Win" bios and everything will be simpler

I know There something in the DSDT (the file that tells the os which and where your pc components are) that has to be fixed to make Windows see these parts correctly

Thanks for all your doing on this. You have already got further than anyone else who tried.
let me know if you have more problems
I have added a 3DMark test in the first post for those that are interested in how it performs

Just another Question, you as a Advance user, do you believe that we (yoga book Windows owners) can boot Android yb STOCK ROM ( i mean not the Android x86 based distros)?
Yes, but I think you would have to do the "reverse" DSDT injection (from win to android) as the official ROM has drivers for that components.
This means that, if you're lucky you would end up with our same problems (keyboard, pen and touch). If we don't fix that before
The problem with Android is that it is meant to be flashed on rom instead of being installed and this makes things more difficult.
It should be possible to flash the rom on an USB key, add grub and use it for DSDT injection like we do and see what happens.
Another problem is that the provided kernelflinger seems to have most of the security options enabled so 99% it will refuse to boot anyway.
Since it is opensource it should be possible to fix this anyway.
So yes, but it a loooong journey
