Honor 5x - with snapdragon 616 or 615??? Cores (4 + 4) or (8) - Honor 5X Questions & Answers

Dear all,
I have got my Indian Version KIW-L22 two days back.
here is screenshot from CPUZ.
it says the snapdragon 615 with (4 arm cores @ 1.5 GHz + 4 arm cores @ 1.2 GHz).
Pl confirm if it is same in other variants
Thanks

CPUZ does not correctly identify the chip. Please try AnTuTu which correctly identifies the chip as Snapdragon 616.

Do you mean benchmark Antutu

Its Snapdragon 616 US version
Sent from Honor 5X using Tapatalk

I have heard that the spec sheet was corrected to be a 616.

Those clock frequencies are only possible on the 616. The maximum speed of the lower quad on the 615 is 1 GHz.

Earlymon you are right. Only in 616 the clocking is possible up to 1.2 Ghz. So I think it must be CPU-Z mistake or something.

CPU-Z also thinks that my Snapdragon 801 in my HTC M8 is a Snapdragon 800. It's not perfect.
Both the 615 and 616 have the same base number - msm8939 - and that's been the source of all the confusion.
I was given the early test unit by Huawei - the honor 5X never had the older 615 and any reviewers who think that they did are simply mistaken.

I too get the same. While running on CPU-Z, it shows Snapdragon 615. In Antutu its showing Snapdragon 616 for my KIW-L23

it is SD 615v2 i.e. SD616 with 8 cores (4 at 1.5 and 4 at 1.2 GHz)

616 and 615 are 99% identical, I didn't bother myself with this in particular

hi
the speed of Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 MSM8939v2 is 1700 but the honor 5x speed is 1500, why ?

Could be it is underclocked.

Just because if u reach full clock speeds , chances for damages are close to full .

Please Clear My Confusion

Hello, Good Day.!!
Hey guys i am little bit confuse about my Xperia mini Hardware
According to GSM ARENA The phone has
Chipset Qualcomm QSD8255 Snapdragon
CPU 1 GHz Scorpion
GPU Adreno 205
What does the CHIPSET stands for i mean what is the work of chipset? is it a Mainboard??
Some people said the phone has Snapdragon processor but here it says Scorpion.Snapdragon is a processor or a chipset??
http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_t...the_functioning_of_processor_chip_and_chipset
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snapdragon_(system_on_chip)
Snapdragon is a chipset, Scorpion is a CPU. Every computer nowdays has both CPU and chipset, including smartphones. Also, in smaller/portable devices GPU can be embedded into chipset. IIRC Snapdragon is one chip that contains it all, CPU, GPU and Chipset.
Motherboard is a board that contain those chip(s)

krait 400?

Hey guys on gsmarena are mega 6.3 is based on dual core krait 400 which is good than galaxy s4 krait 300 if the battle for single core or dual core only. Do you think if there is a kernel development here we can overclock it to 2.3ghz just like anandtech says.

I think it is snapdragon 400 with krait 200, not krait 400 because krait 400 is belong to snapdragon 800....
I think the most correct is Snapdragon 400 using Krait 300 similar in specs (and performance) with Galaxy S4 mini. You can find the exact chip model in the internet. Krait 200 for Mega is a typo error as according to Qualcomm website Snapdragon 400 with Krait 200 runs only at 1.2 ghz max whereas Krait 300 runs at 1.7 Ghz (Mega 6.3 and S4 mini). Krait 200 is slower vs Krait 300 even when run on same freq and is used by entry level phones (not Mega 6.3). You will also find Snapdragon 400 in quad-cortex A7 flavor for entry level phones (slower than Krait 200).

you cant.sd 616 only goes upto 1.5 ghz not 1.7 ghz.there is no kernel that supports overclocking for redmi 3 pro.you know redmi 3 pro is already very good with performance so i dont think there is any need of overclocking

Cpu listed as Octa-core Max 2.8GHz in settings and Qualcomm Qualcomm in geekbench

I just flashed 8.11.29 from mi-globe. Is this normal? Geekbench score is around where it should be.

2.8 ghz max octacore means the big ones has 2.8 only

CPU Benchmarks - performance factors

Could somebody please explain why the Snapdragon 821 @ 2.4 GHz has TWICE the single-core benchmark score compared to the MediaTek Helio P35 @ 2.3 GHz!?

I can confirm that Snapdragon 821 devices indeed perform way better when it comes to say, emulation, but the question is... WHY? (considering it's only 0.1 GHz ahead in terms of clock speed)
