Z9 Max NX510J - No SIM Card/ SIM Card deactivated after upgrading - ZTE Z7, Z7 Max, Z7 Mini

Hi All,
Hoping for some support.. I have tried upgrading my phones ROM recently and I have issues. My phone now will not see any sim card or if I take the card out and put it back in the sim card says deactivated.
I have tried flashing with with multiple roms and it is not bringing my phone back to life any ideas how I can get it working again?

Which Rom have you used for the upgrade? The latest official one, 3.78? And how did you perform the upgrade? I did it with TWRP and placed the rom on the micro SD, once finished, reset factory values.
Try to do the upgrade without the nano sim inside, not sure though if this does the trick. Once you've reset to factory values do not reboot, first shut down the device, place the sim inside and start the phone.

I will give it a go.
I tried using emergency recovery and 3.78 stock rom..
Lets see what happens if I use TWRP with 3.78 without the sim

TWRP
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3154895
You will need to install Android SDK and push recovery through adb.

So what's the outcome ? Any luck ?
Please have a look at some solutions here...from the Nexus Forum, but it should be doable as well on our device...

@sainsbup
Mate, how did it work out ? Have you been able to get things straight again ? Did you lose EMEI or is everything still in place?

tried all kinds still no joy - IMEI is null! is it possible to recover this at all?

Nubia updater should save your IMEI in C:\nubia backup\ or simmilar. You can recover IMEI by the same nubia updater clicking on left upper corner on application and clicking position under Close. You'll open Nubia Restorer and you can restore your both IMEIs and MEID
If you update by ther way you have a big problem (then you have to edit nv file - try youtube)
best regards

@sainsbup
If DarkseederZ7´s method does not work, try everything manually...this implies (back up your apps first):
1. Getting unrooted, just go to SuperSU/Settings and check "Full unroot"
2. Reboot
3. Extract stock recovery from official 3.78 stock rom (recovery.img) in your pc
4. Place the recovery.img in the platform-tools folder of your Android SDK
5. Enter ADB (developper mode and USD Debugging must be enabled)
6. Type : adb devices -> you should see then a line saying "NX510J device"...
7. Type then : adb reboot bootloader -> your sending your device to fastboot through ADB
8. Type now exactly this : fastboot -i 0x19d2 flash recovery recovery.img -> you now have stock recovery
9. Reboot
10. Go to system update, on top right corner click on the dots "System Upgrade by Disk", find your stock rom, click Ok.
11. Let it install, once done check if everything is in place. A factory reset is recommended after a rom installation.
12. Let us know your progress
Cheers

Won't connect to network

I got an Optimus One from a friend. I flashed CyanogenMod on it and Im not sure if I did it correctly. I dont know much about it. This is the file I used:
update-cm-7.2.0-RC1-p500-signed.zip
Everything seems to be working fine except I cant connect to any network. I am trying to unlock my phone (its locked to KOODO right now) and I enter the "2945#*500#" code in it says "Mobile Network Not Available"
If I manually try to choose any network in the settings it just says unable to connect to network, please try again later.
Are my settings just wrong, or maybe I forgot to install something when I flashed it?
Are you on the wrong baseband?

U got new baseband?
Sent from my LG-P500 using xda premium
I have no idea if Im on the right baseband. I really dont know what it means other then it has something to do with the networks.
When I go to about Phone and Baseband version it doesnt really say anything. Im sure it said something different before when I looked at it the other day. Right now it says:
Baseband version
$n(Backwards R)(box)(box)(box)(chinese symbol?)(box)
So that has got to be the issue. How do I fix it tho? flash a different rom? I do want to try something different. I find the phone is usually really slow after I wake it up and unlock it.
Basebands!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1149530

So I did this and it installed the zip just fine. A few differences now:
In lock screen it now says "NO SERVICE"
About Phone > Baseband Version > "UNKNOWN"
Mobile Network Settings > Network Operators >
"ERROR WHILE SEARCHING FOR NETWORKS"
Before it found the networks, just couldnt connect to them.
After fooling around with it more I got a baseband version in there. Here is my info:
BASEBAND: LGP500AT-00-V20g-OPEN-COM-JUN-14-2011+0
Android Version: 2.3.7
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.10-cyanogenmod [email protected]))
Mod Version: CyanogenMod-7-20120527-NIGHTLY-p500
Is this the right Baseband? SHould I just try a differnet mod?
It now sees the networks again, but has the connection error like before.
BTW The icon at the top that is a sim card with an exclamation mark on it. What does that mean? Its always been there but I didnt know what it meant. Does it mean that the phone is locked and the sim is incompatable, or does it mean that there is no sim in the phone?
Try to reinsert your sim card if problem not solved then proceed to next
First you need to unlock your sim. To unlock sim first flash stock firmware using kdz updater, follow this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1060121
Download stock firmware from here(select any v20 version) http://lg-phone-firmware.com/firmware-Lg+Optimus+One-Tutti-4.html
After flashing firmware do a factory reset(settings -->privacy settings -->factory data reset)
After factory reset type 2945#*500# then type unlock code
After unlocking flash any rom of your choice

Yes it is locked. Thats how I figured out somthing was wrong in the first place. I was trying to unlock it (entered 2945#*500#) and it said "Mobile Network Not Available"
I didnt realize that it had to be unlocked in stock firmware to work. That might have been the problem all along then.

[Q] (Help) Stuck in Boot loader....

My girlfriend comes to me and says her phone isn't working after she attempted to flash a new ROM. The phone is stuck on boot loader screen. So I turn off the phone and restart in recovery mode CWM. When I tried to restore and restore from internal sdcard I got Couldn't open directory. No files found. Next I attempted to install zip from sdcard and internal sdcard I got No files found. Could someone please help me out and suggest what I might do in order to help me get her phone up and running again?
Sounds like the files were not placed on the internal SD card for flashing and that a backup wasnt made. You will have to download the latest version of Kies Software from Samsung. There select Tools>Firmware upgrade and Initiation. Input the required information as it is found on the back of the device under the battery. If it shows all caps, use all caps. It is case sensitive.
This will revert the phone to stock with ICS.

Try to format/reformat the current partitions. It sounds like the phone lost power or rebooted mid flash.

Please help to return LGOG to original at&t stock rom

Hello,
I have an unlock E970 running custom rom on T-mobile right now, and I would like to return it back to original stock rom. I've been reading threads in in the last couple days, but still not finding a clear procedure to do this. From what I understand I have to do it in phone download mode instead of install by zip file. Please someone can spare some times to show me the steps and needed files to do this.
BTW: Will my phone still be carrier unlock after return to stock, it will lock backto at&t again?
Thank you,

Sim unlock persists after returning to stock. If you are not restoring so you can do warranty exchange there is a stock+root flashable zip you could use.

Adfurgerson is correct. Unless you need it to go in for warranty service or get inspected for modifations by your employer, his link will get you to where you want to be. If you are in one of the aforementioned scenarios, post back soon and I'll point you over to #lg-g2 on freenode, or if you know what that means and how to get there, just show up and I or someone else will get you squared away.

I've try this rom, but the installation does not go right:
If some one can shed some light of what I have done wrong:
1 First I boot into Teamwin Recovery
2.Select factory wipe
3 Select advange wipe, then I choose cache, davik cache, system, data wipe ( the only one I do not include is Internal Storage)
4 After it done wiping, I choose install then select the zip file
5 Here is the problem start: my screen show extracting....t then installing... for like a mimutes, then it said finished.
6.Now I choose Reboot then the screen showed that I have no OS at all
7.Now I have to go back and select intall zip again (this time without any wipping) then the phone this time take a little longer to install. And I does boot into new Rom just install.
8.Here is it get weird: If I connect my phone to my pc I can see the phone all most have double folders. (It has all the normal files folder plus a 0 FODERS when I open that 0 file folder it contain all the other folders that I have in the upper level
It seem like it extract most of the files and folds twice.
I have not experience this with other custom rom
Did I miss a step???
Please advise
Thank you!

Hi. Your phone is rooted? Any custom recovery like TWRP?
What have you done to the phone?
Did you moved to another region?
By the way... in what country are you in now?
So many variabiles?
Try and dial *#06# and tell me if you see the IMEI's.... Or invalid. This is a precious information.

Thanks !!!
When dialing *#06#, I can see 2 IMEI's in my phone.
The issue started when I was using the phone in the same reason, Mumbai in India, however now I have moved to another.
The phone is not rooted neither any custom recovery tried.
As far as I can guess, the problem started when I updated phone android version from Jelly Bean to Kitkat however I am not sure.
Should I try downgrading android version of the phone. Please mention how to do that. What else should I try.
Thanks in advance,

Hi.
Ok if you see your phones IMEI is good.
Lets start with first steps:
1. Beacuse this is your last official update to your phone and is quite old you could root your phone.
2. Rooting tutorial with tools and istall TWRP here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/lenovo-p780/help/rooting-tutorial-kitkat-t2835605 . Use TWRP 2.8.4.0 REV2 ROW if you have ROW version of your phone.
3. Read first act later.
4. After rooting and TWRP install, go to TWRP and do a full backup. NOT OPTIONAL. Save backup to an SD Card.
5. Now go to this post and download all Europa Modems: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B2ORIgaV4iacaFFaM2pnX1A2Rnc
6. Putt all those modems on a folder called Modems.
7. Reboot to TWRP. For this part go to Magazin Play and install Reboot Recovery. Give root rights and reboot in to the recovery.
8. After you are in TWRP go to Install option, browse for your Modem folder, select one modem and swipe to install.
9. After install do not wipe to factory reset. Dont need this factory reset in this tutorial.
10. After install reboot your phone in to system and wait for the signal to appear. Iff by any chance is not working , the install of the modem procedure must be repeted, till one of those modems works.
11. Do not hurry up. Let the phone to find the signal for a minute or two. First time the signal will appear more slow.
12. Good Luck.
I have the same problem. However, my phone doesn't detect SD either, so I can't do the procedure described above. Everything was OK, util I did factory reset. I can also see my IMEI.

Great thread! Flashed an old P780 4GB CH late 2014 with the AOSP ROM the other day and the GiffGaff SIM in it stopped getting a signal. Just flashed Modem_P780_KK_V.103.zip from the Modem Europa folder and now both the GiffGaff and Vectone SIM cards are working perfectly once again.
Thanks stympy!

Soft or Hard Brick???

I have a G900T that I was a running Skiesrom CFW for about a month until I noticed it stopped detecting the sim card, getting constant reboots and restarts instead of powering down. I went to stock with odin thinking it would fix it but it did not. Any suggestions and opinions would greatly be appreciated. Thanks.
Happened to me too once when i flashed wrong rom using odin which lead me to Nil Baseband version and IMEI
Did u check them if they are ok
Install a SD card checking (SD Insight is the one I use) and check your SD card. There are thousands of fakes around that report they have much more storage than they actually do. They work fine at first until they fill up and you start trying to store data in locations that don't actually exist.

Not as easy as I though.
Have service mode also gone blank? u can check it using #*9090#
if yes, then your phone has kinda gone far from the normal damage state imo, as normal restore things like odin etc. doesn't help
Check Device Serial Number, if that's fine
IDK your Knowledge level but
Read this post till the End before attempting to do anything
I had recovered my phone from the following scenerio
1. Baseband - Unknown
2. IMEI - Nil
3. Service mode - Blank with horizontal lines
4. No Sim detection
5. Random reboots and restart instead of Power off
BUT
6. Seriel Number - Ok (Original)
In my case i wasn't able to get back imei baseband, no matter what i do, restoring efs backup, trying diffrent baseband, stock restore everything using odin diffrent Rom versions too but
nothing worked
I followed the steps given in thread mentioned below to recover my device, This thread and file/s mentioned in there are for Note 3 only
but i used the Note 3 file on S5 with SM-G900T PIT file,
Don't use PIT file from NOTE 3 (Thread)
Everything is back to normal except Service Mode is partially recovered, still i have it that way
(writing Note 3 file on S5 , i guess, the reason for broken service mode)
Here's the thread
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2567133
I had followed it till adb commands only, as far as i remember, didn't follow seriel number editing etc.
I'd recommend to follow the thread only if have have tried other ways to get around the issue and you are sure your phone is unrecoverable by any other means
bcuz Nowadays unknown baseband and nil imei happens too me sometimes but going stock ALWAYS gets them back
i'd recommend you to Backup your IMEI (EFS) Folder in current state (Most probably it is not corrupted) and store in somewhere safely and to be on a safer side backup bootloader too (Bootloader not needed but...you never know if you are not much of a developer)
Backup in multiple formats and with multiple tools (I always wanna play safe), Flashfire also backsup EFS
You can also backup whole folder manually too, your choice
For bootloader backup
i used following ADB command as Root
busybox dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0 of=/sdcard/200MB.img bs=4096 count=50000
I don't know if this will work for you, Don't hold me responsible if your device gets even worse, just trying to help ; )
Lemme Know if any clarification is needed

All of your scenarios is exactly what is going on with mine to the "T". Service mode is blank and I do get a serial number but blank IMEI. Even my phone powered on on it's own from being completely shut down for a while. I tried flashing PIT with odin to tried to re-partition but it would not flash. Gives me a secured failed in download mode. I will look into your suggestion. Thanks.

You are just one step away, if u hv time
make sure you have allowed adb to run as root (supersu app), check supersu app, if adb requested permisiion and thats falsly disallowed
Setup working ADB connection, test it
allow adb shell to run as root
run following commands one by one
adb devices
adb shell
su
when u type su and hit enter, it should ask you for supersu permission on ur phone interface
Grant the permission
Also
have Busybox installed in your device
Usb debugging (obviously)
that's coming in my mind right now
Good Luck, if you try

Success!!! My phone is back up and running fine. Had a little scare after I rebooted it was going into download mode and saying "could not do normal boot" but I just re-flashed recovery in odin and re flashed rom and everything is working with my IMEI and serial. Thanks again for your help.
