[ROM] CyanogenMod 13 jgcaap builds - Nexus 5 Android Development

Hello everyone, after a great success on building roms for bacon device. I've decided to share my work with other devices. So now I share with hammerhead. After positive feedback on the rom today I'll publish here the rom.
Kernel and Device tree are untouched so everything should be working smoothly. You can use a custom kernel in case you like, but i'll only give support to stock kernel as I do not yet own an device. So CM bugs are basically also our bugs, and from what I know there is none. Still I'm open to suggestions.

Built-in root not working. Anyone else? I don't like flashing SuperSU if it has built-in CM root.

Please flash supersu. I have to see how to address this. Haven't found yet a suitable solution. Sometimes seems to work. Other times doesn't work.

I've Nexus 5, 16GB with TWRP 3.
While installing the latest build and latest slim gapps - I get an error saying there is not enough space in System and asks me to resize.
Can you please help?

Any idea what could be causing the issue? I wonder how the other ROMs along with mini GAPPS work.
I'm not sure if I'm doing anything wrong; or has TWRP 3 screwed up something?

[KERNEL][WIP}i920X Touchwiz JB(4.2.2)(Production Phase)

This kernel will be kept simple and inline with stock and free from buzzfree stuff..as the aim is a stable day-to-day use kernel..this kernel is NOT for those who want to break records..as i do not believe and rely on benchmarks..(its me..)
Disclaimer:
i nor xda would be at fault if something weird beyond my test results happen to your phone..also this is not a benchmark kernel..if you like crunching numbers and breaking records go use another kernel..this is meant to save juice and be efficient and stable as a daily driver for Samsung based ROMS..
Features:
- Based on i9205/i9195 source from Samsung OSRC(Thanks for the borked source)
- Fixed a few things left by Samsung to be broken
- Simple and no fancy stuff thats gonna bork your phones..more stuff does not guarantee it's better..
- User voltage control from faux123 for Krait CPU's..
- EXFat support(by Samsung OSRC..)
- OC(if already stable)
- will populate more as things get stable
- Selinux permission is set from enforcing to permissive via ramdisk
- insecure boot image
- Disabled Rooting security measures implemented by Samsung..
Pre-requisites
- Install busybox via CWM or via Playstore before installing my kernel..this is to make sure init.d and also some scripts work properly..
Downloads here: Test build 5(ML1 Ramdisk)
My git: source
Credits:
- noone in particular but thanks to ALL the wonderful devs here in XDA..
If you like the builds please help me get a Soda/pay bills..or the least is just hit the Thanks Button..
one more in case..
uploading..
please report/feedback on any issue you might encounter..please do provide logs(last_kmsg, logcats, dmesg...etc..) so that i can shoot things out..i do not own the device yet and surely things can go wacky along the way..
TIA
kindly someone report if the build boots up..
What do you mean with those features?
- Fixed a few things left by Samsung to be broken
- Removed most of the crappy and buggy stuff..

re: root it might have been because of the ramdisk i used..can you shift to Koush's superuser??chainfire's supersu has been finicky with my HTC 4.3 update but Koush's never had a glitch..
Thank you very much for the feedback!!

[LOLLIPOP][18/11/14] Phantom Kernel r2

I have been working on grouper recently and I felt that there was a certain lack of a stock based kernel with only useful stuff and not custom features. There might be some users like me who haven't been able to customize their tablets much because of schedule and lego kernel hasn't been updated much recently. So I have made a kernel for Lollipop with only required stuff.
Some points to note(they can't be called features)-
Compiled using latest Linraro 4.9 optimized for Cortex A9
Kexec support
All-F2FS support
GPU overclock(franco's method)
Optimized ARM RWSEM algorithm
Entropy tweaks
Agnostic kernel flasher
SuperSU compatible
Download- http://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/?id=6701#downloads for boot.img
and http://d-h.st/2bYP for agnostic kernel flasher zip
Note- boot.img is only for All-F2FS partition users while zip can be used for all partition types(ext4, data-F2FS, all-F2FS).

**wow, just installed latest Lollipop image (LRX21P) after converting to ALL-F2FS and it boots just fine!...
Im impressed with Lollipop setup!
Awesome, I'm gonna give this a try!
For GPU overclock is it set higher already or do I need an external app or additional files to affect it?
Sweet, now all i need is some advanced power button options and my tablet is set :3

What steps did you follow? I tried the same and got stuck at boot.
Which root way did you follow? Chainfire or permissive?
I am running rooted factory image on ext4. I flashed the zip, got positive feedback of the boot.img installing, rebooted, saw one app optimizing on boot. But when I go to settings.device the kernel still reports the stock name and in trickster I see the same with no evidence of any new gpu customizability. Thanks.

I am also wondering, how did you convert a Lollipop ROM to All-F2FS? With the 'Convert To F2FS' App from the Play Store? Does it work with 5.0?
Or is all i need flashing a Lollipop ROM on my F2FS device and then this kernel and it will boot?
also can i use this kernel on tilapia? I know i can't use grouper ROMs but never bothered with Kernels until now.

Actually if you flash a grouper version of twrp you can use grouper ROMs on a tilapia. You just lose 3g.

No AOSP builds/ROMs on 7.0?

Hey guys, I have no idea what I'm doing, so I'm wondering if anyone else has compiled a flashable Aosp or near-aosp build of android 7.0? I'm currently on PureNexus, and I'm looking for a very minimal ROM as it's the only way to reduce the lag on this low memory device we all know and love (hate?). Thanks!

I'm 100% with you on this. Minimum is best. I was wondering where the homecooked 7.0s are too.
Way too soon for a stable aosp build.
You'll probably see a flashable, pre-rooted stock rom appear first. Often these are tweaked, debloated etc so can be quite minimal.
Experimental aosp builds will likely emerge soon too but if you're the type to moan about roms not appearing fast enough and the low memory of a device you bought then you likely won't like bugs either. Maybe wait for a bit.
I wanna post mine - but GApps FC (some location provider error) and I am looking for a fix. This commit didn't fix it and I thought it might!

I am also having the problem w/ twrp unhooking sometimes --- d**n N9 is very finicky!!!

Ok finally got some time to play ---- fastboot is my friend LOL!!!
I used fastboot to wipe and start over w/ a clean tab -----> Only way I get root with my rom at current build is using twrp ---> flash my rom w/ stock boot image, flash supersu sr1 2.78 ---> bootup got root. That's all I can find that works. @USBhost Do you have an N k that allows root??? Do you have any idea what is going on with this??? BTW --- Trying to install as system install causes bootloop for me. So the only option I have at the moment is supply stock boot image and systemless root and w/ the rom. PITA

I didnt tried. Kernel is for another fix. With new mobius kernel phone can wake after lock, on latest cm13 kernels phone just freezing after some time. The problem was good know, but i think no one tried or cant find right libs. I will trying to find one right because not all stuff of patch is needed i think but it works. If the libs from similar phone could works on g2m we can try it on cm14 for g2m.

-Root issues if exist also fixed
-Reduced weigh and generally keeps system libs updated for example camera or stagefright libs which was replaced needlessly before.
WORKS PERFECT BRO!!!! Thank you!!!
thank you works well....(Resurrection Remix)
Hey, new update.
I'm suprised no one seen that visualization of music does not work
nevermind
-cleaned again, less number of libs replacment
-new kernel included (you can install MobiusM kernel if you want but you dont have to now)
-music visualization fixed
I hope it's a final version (it looks it is) thanks for using, good words and testing.

yes, you can be sure now all works good with patch. I think will be no official fix because they are focused on CM14 and this bugs are not made by CM team as I know.
The fix is just a rollback to the old sensors drivers.

Yes, but worse is nothing bro... At least he was kind enough and trouble to somehow solve this little problem that bothered more than one...

Now I feel that you're mean to me little bit, are you?
So why no one else did something after two months if it's just old libs with kernel?
tell you something, no difference between them so this is real "fix" of this bothersome bug/s.
Fix is fix.
I respect you and I want little respect for me
If I got you wrong - sorry.

[rom][aospa][7.2.3][bacon]

VV READ THIS BEFORE DOING ANYTHING ELSE VV
By using this ROM you agree to these conditions:
1. I am not responsible for anything that you do or that happens to you that is related to the ROM in anyway.
2. You have an advance knowledge of how this stuff works before trying it yourself.
3. You have backups and know how to recover your data if something was to happen.
I am not connected in any way, shape or form to AOSPA. I just respect them and like what they do.:good:
I did not make this ROM. All I've done is compiled it from the source on GitHub, anyone could do that. ----> https://github.com/AOSPA/android_kernel_oneplus_msm8974
Okay I believe that covers me, so lets get down to the specifics.
It takes me approximately 35m to compile a new build, I'll do this either weekly or sub-weekly if there's a bad bug that's been fixed.
I have not had any problems thus far with it.
To flash this I strongly recommend you
1. Use the latest TWRP.
2. Have a backup in case you mess something up.
3. Wipe only these partitions: system, data and both caches. DO NOT EVER WIPE THE INTERNAL STORAGE OR THE OTG DRIVE
4. Flash the ROM.
5. Flash the most recent Open GApps [ARM] [7.1] the variant is up to you but I recommend [PICO]
6. Reboot and enjoy!:good:
Bugs:
I don't know, you tell me. I haven't had anything go wrong.
Here you go:

This shows exactly what I'm doing. Enjoy!

This might be of use to you... HalogenOS ( they dropped bacon, maintainer had no time) used OOS 3.1.3., their github can be found here
Same as PA ?
OP,please add "unofficial" to the title.I know you've kind of mentioned that in OP but still.. It wouldn't hurt.
Also, "It takes me approximately 35m to compile a new build". What kind of internet you have?!

What do you mean? My internet is 100mbps (12MB/s). I have moderate specs for a PC, i5-6402p, 8GB RAM and SATA lll 3TB HDD 64MB cache, Kubuntu 17.10 with modifications and bleeding edge software updates (I'm moving to Gentoo soon).
What do you mean "unofficial as of now"? I don't see a need to add it if it's not a requirement.

Don't forget to post sources (kernel is required)..
Having installed magisk, opengapps, default apps I always use on each rom i lose 12% battery over night. Temporary switched back to another ROM... need stability.
Will try soon again
Any changes made versus the latest official AOSPA build? NFC? Camera?

I don't think there's any change to NFC.I'll have to try out this ROM to compare camera against official PA,which I'll do soon.

Not having any stability problems myself but I'll look into it. I did not change anything from the master on GitHub, no modifications, pure AOSPA.

Sooooo you're just compiling moments before the PA team does without any changes? This means I could just wait for the PA-team to compile their build and I'll get exactly the same, right? Or am I missing something here

I don't know what you mean by moments before they do. But yeah what I compile is exactly the same as if they were to release an update. But they haven't all they have on their website is AOSPA 7.2.1. That's the whole point of why I'm doing it, I liked the ROM but wanted updates, so when they make improvements on the master I pull the changes and compile a new build.
