Lenovo vibe Z90-7 brick - stucking at initializing - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, after playing with my z90 (with the original rom that was Z90a40_USR_S118 international, bought in october 2015) I wanted to clean it up and make some updates. So I made my backups etc... Entered the recovery (not the green lenovo one wich is very limited) with hold vol - , I choosed to wipe (the phone was encrypted just to mention) all that I can and reset to factory, all was done but when it finished, it reboot and it stuck to initializing just after lenovo logo it reboot... initializing... and it s an inifinite loop. So I retryed to go to the maintenance recovery but it s not possible a black screen come and it reboot, I can go to the limited lenovo green recovery, but no factory reset, so I make the wipe datas etc... nothing... infinite reboot loop!
So I found some rom put them in the micro SD, go for an update.zip with the recovery, update work well but... initializing.... reboot...
Grrr, lenovo... So I take the big tools, installed a minimal win7 with qualcom drivers, lenovo ones, qpst. I tried many manipulation to enter the download mode with port com (I finaly managed multiple times with not the exact manipulation it s vol- + power + 10s and multiple spanning of the vol - button....) And I have succefully flashed multiple roms with qfil but with always the same results... initializing, reboot... I don t know where to search now, I someone can help me to find where to go, perhaps reflashing the recovery or I saw the .qnc in a russian forum but I can t understand one word.... 2 days of flashing make me hate my lenovo, my first brick with a phone . Any help?
Thanks,
sorry for my bad english

Hi,
here is my solution if can help.
I had on my vibe shot s208 rooted ROW. It stacked after SU update in boot loop.
1. I did wipe data without formatting from recovery mode (Vol+ and Vol- and Power button. When Logo is on release power button and hold Vol+ and Vol - until you are in recovery mode). STILL boot loop.
2. I did wipe data with formatting from the same menu. - STILL boot loop.
3. I did factory reset from recovery menu (Vol - and Power after logo is on release Power and hold Vol - until you get recovery mode) - STILL boot loop.
Then I did next:
1. I downloaded and installed QFIL (QPST_2.7.422) - I am not allowed to post links yet.
2. I have connected OTG adapter to phone. Phone was off.
3. then connected OTG to PC. It was some HDD activities but I did not hear any sound.
4. press Vol- for as long as something is going on - HDD activities. Then I think came up sound too - but not sure.
5. I had installed Qualcomm USB drivers from before I suppose.
6. Because I couldn't see my device as ...908 I disconnected and connected again usb cable... then I got my device as ...908 in device manager, but it was written "RECONNECTED" or similar in front of word "QUALCOM".
7. Then just follow instructions for QFIL. and ROM will be installed.
First I have installed INTERNATIONAL no root ROM. But because I needed phone to be rooted in order to use data recovery software I flashed again with s240 ROOTED. When I flashed second time I did not use OTG, just direct usb cable connection to PC, and my phone was again recognized after I reconnected usb cable and in device manger was "RECONNECTED" in front of word "QUALCOM".

Hello, thanks for replying. But I already tried all the roms with qfil, they were successfully installed as wtih miflash but I always got a initializing boot loop... Unfortunately I tried some other method, I successfully erase all partitions, I m now in 9006 mode with a long vibration on start and I cant do anything now No flashing works anymore... I ll try some stuff when I had a little time.

did you find a solution ?? , cause I have the same problem ... tried everything, adb or cwm recovery won't work cause my device is not rooted nor the usb debugging is on .. so am stuck with this "initializing loop".. flashing didn't solve it for me, I tried every ROM I could find, rooted or not .. nothing .... this problem happened with my phone after wiping user data and trying to restore QCN, cause before this problem I had another one with network services, tried to solve it, and here I am, from bad to worse

Hello,
I had the same problem. I tried with QFile and MiFlash but unfortunately without success. will you a track ?
I reinstalled the drivers QDLoader HS- USB Driver. I maintained volume + for 3 seconds , however, nothing happens ! (Before it worked ) I also tried adb reboot eld the prolème is the USBport phone is not known !
I followed the procedure of DejXDA carefully until the end staying press the VOL- the phone starts to recharging battery ... have you others sollutions ? thanks in advance.

Hey there !
Same problem for me... The solution may be to rebuild the partition table, but we need a working phone, and a backup with QPST.
Would anyone post a *.qcn file from his phone, made with QPST Software Download ? or a *.hex ?
And the user partitions ? Or a factory image (*.mbn) ?
Any gurus here, what would you advise for that problem ? Would using QPST properly work ?
Cheers !

Z90-7 (Z90a40) unbricked (at last...)
Hello!
After days and days of fails, my Z90-7 is unbricked!
How?
Just follow the OTG cable method, but copy in the SD card, in the sdfuse folder, this image:
Z90a40_S209_150716_ROW.qsb
You can download it from russian forum*, freely.
*I'm not allowed to post links, but enter the exact reference (Z90a40_S209_150716_ROW.qsb) in Google search (don't accept the Google's proposition to correct it), the link is the first answer. Use Google trad as I did if you don't speak russian .

Hello ,
I have a Lenovo vibe shot Z90-7
I wanted to set an international Rom 5.1 and now since it gets stuck on initializing indefinitely.
I have access to the recovery mode so I spend not to turn off the phone.
I Agency will proceed as this I put out the létélphone I press the volume + and I connect it to the ordidateur to put in download mode, but there is nothing after it launches in initializing .

[Q] Lenovo A830 Boot Loop No Recovery

I have a problem with one of my Lenovo A830 phones.
I bought it from Etotalk, so it came rooted, and with their custom version of the Lenovo Stock ROM and their custom version of CWM 5.5 installed.
I tried formatting my SD card and then doing a factory data reset from within the operating system. (I was intending to install MIUI V5 after rebooting into recovery).
However, on rebooting, the device is now caught in an infinite boot loop, and I am not able to boot into recovery mode (by holding down power and both volume keys). It loads the initial splash screen, then shows a few seconds of the Android character and some whirring cogs before rebooting.
I am able to boot into Factory mode (power and volume up) or Meta mode (power and volume down). Factory mode has a number of options, but they are all in Chinese characters, which I am unfortunately not able to read.
I did notice that my SD card seemed to be write protected when I tried to format it in my computer and to copy on the new ROM - I solved this by putting it in a different phone and reformatting it. I wonder whether the factory reset process has write protected something it shouldn't have?
Does anyone know how I might best proceed? I've been digging around on the forums, and tried a few things, but there's nothing which seems to provide a coherent solution for this problem.
I've got the latest Android SDK Tools, MTK Droid Tools 2.4.8, SP Flash Tool 3.1312, some additional ADB drivers (120827 v3.7) that I'm not sure how to install, the latest MIUI V5 ROM (3.8.16), and the latest stock Lenovo ROM (S118 from Need A ROM, just in case I need it).
Maybe different SP Flash Tools version?
I had trouble using SP Flash Tools v3.1312 with A830. Once I switched to v3.1304.0.119 I was able to flash both the original ROM and the custom MIUI one without serious issues. I'm unable to post the download link but google it.
One other thing is that when connecting the phone, it usually loads the something something Preloader driver, which is no good (even if it gives you Download OK). When attempting to flash either ROM, try pressing both the power and volume up buttons while connecting the phone (after pressing Download), only way it worked for me.
Good luck!
I managed to sort this out quite simply in the end!
On the Lenovo A830 (and presumably other Lenovo Android phones?), you enter recovery by pressing power and then pressing volume up / down together after a short pause. The short 1 - 2 second pause is important, because if you try and press them at the same time or in quick succession it doesn't seem to work.
I then installed MIUI V5 from the SD card followed by Google Apps after a reboot. In order to get MIUI to install, I had to remove the assert check at the top of the update script, because this seems to erroneously check for the A820 (even though there isn't currently a port for this device?). It's working excellently with two exceptions - I am unable to select the SD card as a storage device, and Google Play store is not searchable (it causes a Force Close).

Hi I had similar "reboot loop" problem this morning after a phone factory reset.
I have no idea how I solved that but the following was the steps I tried:
1. Install the MTK6589_PdaNET_ADB_VCOM_Drivers. Skip the USB connection during setup. Start the PdaNET after setup finished.
2. Insert battery inside the phone and connect the phone with the computer by USB
In my case, the phone reboot loop once, and the lenovo screen appeared in the second restart. The phone hanged. I unplugged the cable, took out the battery, insert the battery again and start the phone normally again and it is working now.
I recommend installing the recovery rom after you have fixed the phone.
Goodluck

LENOVO A816 (qualcomm based) flash HELP NEEDED!

Hello! I am new here, so my apologies if posted in the wrong section of forum.
I need help with my Lenovo A816 (qualcomm based). I accidentally deleted lenovo launcher. In the morning i switched the phone and it keeps boolooping (at least i think)
I can't do factory reset also because it doesn't react to vol- + pwr button, it keeps turning itself on and off. It does that also without battery when connected to USB-PC.
Can somebody help me flash the correct ROM and gives me instructions step-by-step how to do it.
I kept searching everywhere and whatever tool i tried it seems like it's mission impossible.
I downloaded custom ROM from here. I wanted to flash the custom rom because all of the chinese junk inside (couldn't access google play or etc... with pre-installed).
P.S. If it helps i have another Lenovo A816 (exactly the same) which is ok, if that helps in anyway. PLEEAASE PEOPLE, HELP ME OUT. It's a brand new phone.
Yes, one other thing, i can enter Lenovo-Recovery by pressing vol+, vol- and pwr. I do format data and wipe user data, and reeboot but keeps bootlooping. So Lenovo recovery doesn't help either.

Swipe Elite Plus Fully Wiped "No OS" Stuck on Swipe Logo
As for now reaching every corner of my no OS issue I can Quote sure problem happend to my device.
I really want to explain everything how it happed. Firstly
1.I bought Swipe Elite Plus 2 monts back, everything was fine but then suddenly after one week using at the mornig time I see Phone shutting down after every 2 to 4 min.
2. When I head to settings "about phone" phone backs to home screen if I swipe to and fro 5 to 6 time device switch offs' .
So wasn't stepping towards flashing .... before flashing what I did was
1. reset.. then hard reset... switch off hold volume + and Power button bootloader hardreset. Evrything done but the result was same (hangs /switch off).
2. In recovery mode i can see 9 times reset logs.. gave up..then
I googled for stock rom... I could not find for first 1 month or two until now...
3. Then I downloaded stock rom for this device (Swipe Elite Plus) found from previously posted swipe forums links (google drive), Drivers, Tools, and Stock Rom...everything.
4. But I get... sahara Fail...this is not possible with Sahara protocol..
#
# Tried several times.. changing ports...Qualcom driver installation.... everything was right (doubted driver problem ~but tried everything/manual port driver update to Qualcom.... QLoader 9008)...
# But sahara Fail.... Cannot procced with sahara protocol....
---------------------
Read forum.... thought to root....rooted with iroot(not sure rooted or not rooted) however TWRP flashed... and wiped everthing now no OS....
# No way to connect to pc. I can hear connection (sound) when i plug in usb to phone then phone switch on and stuck on swipe elite plus logo..
# however I can enter to TWRP recovery by volum up + power button...and When I go to "power off" from reboot option in TWRP phone offs' then on again and stuck on swipe logo, while usb cable is still connected and I can hear connection sound but no signs (nothing) of device at "Device Manager"....
#Can I have any ROM/CM to flash from internal memory as I can still access Internal storage (through PC) in TWRP mode and rooted...??.I will try...
#Do I need convert emax mini/ TCL M3G ..?? But no way to usb connecion??? only sound...( I am Using win7 32bit)
Any Links to flash file plz....????

Well.. somehow I have QFIL flashed the TCL M3G rom following the UMI forum tutorial..
But I can not restore QCN backup (Downloaded from given link 216kb) bcz.. Port is not Showing 9091 com port.... When I go to QFIL>>Tools tab>>backup /restore>> then select the downloaded QCN file then backup and restore button is inactive...I know it bcz of com Port ....QDoader 9008(COMxx)...
# But then If I try to Switch on it Stuck on Small Linux logo (No more Swipe Elite Plus/phone changed to TCL M3G)...And sometimes Loads big "Android" Logo for 1 or 2 then shuts down and nothing happens.... I can boot to bootloader....TWRP is Gone...
# I did try to flash the stock rom found at aplush.xyz but this time it is again Sahara Fail...Sahara..Fail...
What Can I do...??? :fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:

Have you tried going "NUCLEAR" Android=>> ♧♧♧ !!!
IDK if code works on iOS, other OS. After W 8.1, I went in 2010 to 2.2 -> 8.1 now on Pixel 2(loved it, native OS w/No bloat like Samsung & never went back -> Android/Chrome). Code as follows.
*2767*3855#
It's a complete wiping of your mobile also it reinstalls the phones firmware(in XDA forum). "Work for me with 'normal' FRR or HR -> 'no joy' or for non-military means 'nothing' -> Mech Engr/CS B.S. degrees. If you are ~XDA, your risk, ask the Mods or leads for XDA if my suggestion is ok"!

No boot on P9000

Hi All,
I have a P9000 it was running a custom ROM with TWRP. I decided to factory reset from with in Android to start fresh but it then went in to a reboot loop, always booting into TWRP recovery. After this I tried reinstalling the ROM, which didn't work. So then i decided to upgrade TWRP which must have failed...
Now i have just a continually rebooting phone with the Elephone logo.
While plugged into my computer upon reboot i get the VCOM device popup for a few seconds, however the USB device is malfunctioning, "The USB device returned an invalid serial number string descriptor." So i am unable to get SP Tools to connect to drop a stock image on it.
Holding power up or down and the power button just cause it to reboot faster.
I'm assuming its done for, but if anyone has any suggestions it would be much appreciated. Thanks
no boot on p9000
Worth a try:
power off, start sp tools flash (stock rom 6), connect to computer and then hold power off and volume up until you get a response from sp (can take a couple of reboots)-> realease buttons and flash.
Worth a try. Might take 2 or 3 trys. I managed to revive my p9000 in this way. I didn't have your vcom problem - not my thing but installing drivers again might help?
sp flash tools: v5.1152 ; stock 6.0: 20160810.
Good luck.

Stuck in bootloop Neffos X1. No recovery mode.

Hello community,
I haven't posted here before, so I hope I'm not doing anything wrong.
I have a problem with my Neffos X1 and after browsing the internet for hours nothing helped so far, so I hope some of you can help me out.
My phone is stuck in a bootloop since yesterday evening. I haven't done any updates or new installations recently, so it just happened out of the blue. It loads till the Neffos logo and then restarts over and over again.
Since I can't take the battery out, I tried letting it run out of energy and then restart, but as soon as I connect it to a power source the bootloop will start again.
I read a lot about getting it in recovery mode or to try and flash it, but no matter what combination of buttons I try, nothing is happening. The phone basically doesn't react to anything and just keeps restarting. The only thing I noticed is, that when pushing both volume keys the screen will just stay black (no restarting), but after letting go the bootloop will start again.
I tried flashing it via SP Flash Tools, but the phone also doesn't react to it.
Lots of troubleshooting guides also require, that I have rooted my phone in the past, unfortunatly I haven't. I also read about unlocking the bootloader, but since my phone isn't reacting to any buttons and my laptop also doesn't seem to recognize my phone (probably because it doesn't boot proberly), that doesn't seem like a solution either.
To summarize: I'm stuck in a bootloop with no recovery mode, no rooting, no unlocking bootloader, probably can only use my laptop to do anything remotely.
So, is there anything you can think of, that might help me get out of the bootloop? Or ideas of what I may did wrong when trying the other solutions?
Thanks for any help in advance.
Same problem
I have the same problem, I have tried all kinds of soft reset and nothing is working I also opened the phone to check if anything was not connected properly, but everything seems fine except for that infinite loop. Please help!

Try this
Download phone's Stock Firmware onto your personal computer.
Install the USB MTK Drivers - NOT ANY OTHERS (skip if you have them already installed).
Download and Launch the Smart Phone Flash Tool (SP Flash Tool)
Click the Scatter-loading button to navigate to the Stock Rom you just downloaded.
Select the Scatter File from the extracted Stock Firmware on your computer.
Select the Download Only in the SP flash tool option
Click the Download button to start the Formating process.
Connect your phone via USB to the computer>> holding volume + and volume – button of your phone at the same time or holding power button only so that the flashing process will starting working
Patiently wait for your device to be formatted.
After the formatting is done, a Big Green button will pop up on the SP Flash to show that.
Unplug phone and boot it up.
If you have a boot loop after booting your device, boot into recovery mode and do a factory reset.
Voila, you are all good.
