Help needed asap! Need to get rid of SD card completely or a fix around! - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Okay, i'll make this simple as possible... I bought a chuwi vi10 pro tablet. Running android 4.4 and dual boot windows 8.
Everything works fine except when I have my external SD card in my tablet
This is what happens. Everything works PERFECT in windows with the 64 gb card.... Moving stuff and what not all works great on it... But when I dual boot to android, android says "SD card not recognized" which is FINE... I have 15 gb internal in android which is fine.... But when I got back to windows my external SD is now crashed and messed up because android recognized it.... I have tried this with 3 other SD cards.... Its definitely an android issue for some reason.
Now, I just want to either
- DISABLE sd card completely
- or some other fix around.... maybe tricking android into thinking there is an sd card in there? Fake mount?
I HAVE to keep my sd card IN the tablet, I can't remove it when switching operating systems.... I hope someone can help me out... I dont NEED EXTERNAL on android! I just want android to stop trying to see the card!

[Q] ICS Passion v10 - External SD Card (BUG?)

Hello all!
I'm not able to post in the development forum (since I'm a noob with less than 10 posts ).
I just moved from the 182 CM7 Nightly on my Vibrant to the Passion ICS v10.
Everything is running pretty darn smooth and thing I thought i'd be missing from CM7 are not really bothering me.
The issue I'm having is with my 8GB external SD card. I'm getting the standard SD Card is empty of has an unrecognizable filesys.
1. I've tried formatting through Storage menu, recovery menu, blackberry and an adapter.
2. I've tried all the tricks on the forums.
The build is not recognizing the card for some reason. I plug the card into my Blackberry and its fine.
I took the 2GB card from the blackberry and put it in the vibrant and it immediately recognized it and mounted w/o a hitch.
Is there a size issue/bug w/ the external SD?
Have you tried taking the SD card and plugging it into your computer, and then formatting it from there?
EDIT: I just tried it with my 8GB microSD card. It looks like mine's not being recognized either.
I'm not running ICS, but maybe it just doesn't support that much on an SD? Just throwing out ideas and maybes.
That would be really silly. Not supporting 8GB SD card .
Kept trying a few more tricks. Still have the same issue.
Also, when I added the 2GB the internal unmounted. Have to go in and manually mount the internal after external mounts (just the first time).
This is a just a heads up.

Maybe ICS is just silly xD
Omg yes i have the same issue, but ive looked into it some more..
I have 2 128mb, a 2gb (that came with the phone) and a 4gb and 8gb sdhc of the same brand... the 8gb and one of the 128mb dont get seen (and the 128s are identical) ive tried formatting in fat16 and fat 32 and ntfs and even mac os x journaled lol and nothing worked... i then returned to cm7 and formatted from there... went back to ics passion v9.2 and then v10 and cm9 and ssame exact symptoms... so idk.. its not because of sdHC, it doesnt sseem to be filesystem and the 128mb thing just really blows my mind..
Hope we get an answer

Can someone point to this thread from the development thread? I don't have the "privileges".
Its a question, i dont think itd be right to put it in dev.

Obviously this question is turning to be a bug. There is confirmation from several users with the same problem.
I have a 4Gb micro sd Patriot and seems to be OK.
You have to look into emmc folder.
Wow , thanks for the awesome pointers that I should look into EMMC folder (sarcasm btw).
The bug is about the SD CARD NOT BEING MOUNTED and reporting as blank and having a non-supported filesystem.
The card in question works fine on the PC and 2 other phones one of the Vibrant with stock ROM.
I only want to help.
I understand your point but we want to exclude options. Can you try another SD cards in this same phone?

Bro read my earlier post, i already tried my 2 128mb cards, my 2gb, 4gb and my 8gb, and they work on all romz except that the 8gb and one 128mb do not work on ics

Me too
I'm also having this problem. Have tried multiple cards in multiple format options. None of them mount, it just gives me a "Damaged SD card" error notification when I try to mount manually. Freaking sucks I can't use my 32gb card anymore.

Have you tried smaller ones like the original 2gb that came with the phone? It should work for you
Btw, just general info, I fixed my 128mb with SD formatter program so that just leaves my 8gb unworking.. and sdformatter had no effect on the 8 gb

I had the exact problem mounted/unmounted I could still read on PC's. It seems this ICS can't handle symbols (external_sd, etc) in filenames - food for thought!

I have the same problem with ICS Passion with my 8gb Sd card.
I can see the files and open them but for an example, when trying to play them in the music player (google music or winamp) I can't.
Any Ideas on how to solve this?
Thanks...

[Q] SD card stops working unexpectedly

I have Huawei u8600 sonic rooted and with Cyanogen 9 ROM for this phone. Everything is working fine, but I noticed that sometimes my phone just doesn't find SD card. After reboot it works fine again for a while, but after an hour or two it happens again. There is no message about SD card being removed or something, it just disappears. I have most of my apps moved to SD card, so this really annoys me, because without SD card I can't use most of my phone's programs. Anyone have any idea what is this related to and how to fix it? Any help would be really appreciated.

I had the same issue with my Motorola Defy with SanDisk 32GB class 10 sd card. The solution was... replacing card with different card. Now I'm using for test Sandisk 2GB class 4 sd card, and till now everything is ok.
It doesn't mean, the 32GB card is bad - it works perfect on any other device, but it's simply incompatible with my Defy.

MicroSD Card Assistance, Raspberry Pi/Android/Windows related issue

Let me start by stating my goal. My goal is to reformat my 8gb micro sd card, so that I can use it back in my Raspberry Pi 3. I know this is an Android forum, and have spent many hours here back in the Galaxy S3/Note 2 days. There is a reason' I'm asking for help here instead of a Raspberry Pi forum, so just hear me out please.
Alright, so I got my 8gb card installed with a fresh image of RetroPie. Got it running just fine with no issues, started to install some emulators and the Raspberry Pi froze. While I was doing that, I was also getting my roms in order on my PC. So I figured why not just pull the SD card out (after unplugging the Pi) and transfer some roms to it. Sounds all groovey, except Windows no longer wanted to recognize the micro sd card that was in the adapter. Hmmm, maybe a restart would help? I restart the computer yet it still doesn't want to work. Odd, so I plug it back into the Pi. Except upon plugging the power back in, the Pi doesn't want to boot up anymore. Instead the red light lights up and the green light keeps flashing. So no I'm starting to really worry. Thinking it's POSSIBLE there is a driver issue on my laptop, I update any/all drivers via SDI (Snappy Driver Installer) and nope, you guessed it, didn't work. So alright, I'm thinking my sd card is corrupted. Until I randomly think about putting it into my old Galaxy Tab tablet. I push the SD card in and the tablet recognizes it right away. AWESOME!!! Now I'm getting somewhere right? Go to Settings > Storage and see that I can unmount and reformat the sd card. So because my goal is to reformat the card, I hit that. Couple seconds later it's done. 58mb available. I read that that's all it (Raspberry Pi) allocates for the boot files, so I don't stress. Thinking that since it's reformatted on the tablet, I can just pop it into my laptop and reformat it the right way and gain access to all the sd card now. Except, nope...Windows doesn't recognize it still. Ok, now I'm thinking my USB reader in my laptop is bad. So I try my 2gb card in the adapter and Windows recognizes it just fine! So now I'm stumped...
Windows won't recognize the SD card
Raspberry Pi won't recognize the SD card (as there's not boot files on it)
Android tablet recognizes the SD card
So I was able to plug the tablet into the computer and see the SD card, but could format it. The reason I'm asking for your (XDA Community) is because it's looking like whatever I can do to save this SD card, is going to have to be done through Android, as it's the only "system" that currently recognizes it.
I've google'd how to reformat the SD card via Terminal (Pac-Man rom w/ root access), and tried to Unmount /storage/sdcard1/ but was shown /system/bin/sh unmount: not found. I tried fdisk /storage/sdcard1/ to no avail either. Now I'm here!
So here I am, asking for help so that way I don't have to go cash in can's to buy a 16gb (ideal size for my use) sd card. I appreciate any help/input you can give me, so thank you for your time!
Just some background, we did some back/forth on this over Twitter and so far nothing that will get it to be recognized in Windows without mounting in the tablet. Any suggestions that folks would have would be most appreciated.
