Nexus 6p Update March (MMB29V) - Nexus 6P General

Hi,
I don't think the OTA has been going out yet, but Google have updated the factory website putting the Nexus 6P at version 6.0.1 (MMB29V)
https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images#angler
I'm downloading it now - file size looks similar to MMB29Q so only security updates here.
Security bulletin - http://source.android.com/security/bulletin/2016-03-01.html

I'll be updating tonight!

Update tonight then.

Whilst it's good that we are getting these monthly updates I'm surprised there hasn't been more bug fixes or enhancements updates as of yet.

It's because there security updates, bug fixes etc are just a bonus.

B/L and radio are still the same?( 2.45, and 2.50) Looks like only vendor image is new.

I´ve flashed the update through fastboot ( boot, system and vendor ) and everything seems to be OK. It´s the fastest way to do instead of having to wait for OTAs.

Is there a way to make a flashable zip for this? After my laptop's hd corrupted I realized what a pain it is to be reliant on another device to update this one.

Download is incredibly slow for me.

How to root this?

Was there any fix hidden behind the security updates, just like with the 5X, or nothing for 6P?

This update broke my Wells Fargo app..

Has anyone gotten an OTA for this?

This update fixed the issue I had when I lowered the brightness to the minimum: It would turn the screen pink, whereas after the update this doesn't happen anymore

Surface Flinger memory leak supposedly fixed!

Matthew Fry posted the following here:
Ladies and gentlemen, I have the most amazing news. Pretty much the best news I can think of.
I have finally received word back from the Mali Developers. They revisited the issue and found that the fault was indeed in the Mali drivers.
"Following previous emails, the Nexus 10 issue that you have been mentioning has been fixed in the latest versions of the Mali driver."
It is, unfortunately, Google's responsibility to release this new driver version with the next Nexus 10 factory image. We can only hope that the fact that I/O has come and gone and the recent release of the Google Edition S4 and One on 4.2.2 does not mean that JB 4.3 or KLP are a long ways out.

So hopefully we'll see the drivers soon! They're supposed to be released here when ready!
I really hope they fix this issue. I turn off my tablet at night so its not a huge issue but on heavy usage days I'm guaranteed at least a reboot if not more.
Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk HD
Wow I am so happy. Good thing I didn't end up selling my tablet yet! Also seems like 4.3 is coming on July 24th, looking forward to it.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Oh thank god. That's my only gripe with this tablet.
That sounds great! however... not sure if that is something that is going to be included in Android 4.3, if it was recently released Google would have to make a lot of testing before put that in Android 4.3, maybe it was distributed to them before, will see next week..
I am hoping with all my heart that this is baked into 4.3. I cannot STAND this issue any longer.
Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk HD
I also can't wait to have a stable system that runs without fault for days, without having to reboot. I use a auto-reboot app that launches everyday at 7:10 AM just after my alarm, no biggie but if I watch some html videos...
Stupid Samsung. Ugh.
It was their mistake from the beginning. Idiots.
Not buying anything more from them for a while.

Mention here first.
I think we have to hope it is going to be release as part of the 4.3 update. If the Mali update was from the 14th June then I think it will be included in the 4.3 update. If it is the 14th July then maybe we might not see it until 4.3.1 or KLP. Let's hope it makes it

If Google had done just a little bit of testing, we were not talking about this issue today. So I don't think they care about testing or quality. We are their lab mouses.

Use nova to fix that. That's what I have done. They have a option to keep in memory to prevent redraws.

He means install Nova launcher from playstore and use it as your default launcher. Also in advanced settings of Nova launcher there is an option for keeping the screens in memory to avoid redraws. You can enable it but I am not having any redraws even with having this option disabled. Just use Nova launcher.

I see the driver was released.
Is there a ROM/image built with it yet? I've been poking around and haven't had any luck.
Do we REALLY have to wait for Google?

It seems these are not complete source codes and in fact you need ddk - driver development kit - to build real drivers which is not available to devs. So I guess we should wait for Google.

be sure to pull the OTA before you flash it.
I still not get it
btw..that was quite surprising that can get update togather with new version of nexus 7
I miss JBQ.. The OTA is being pushed yet we still have no factory images..
I have my tablet stock rooted. Updating will kill root for me right?

This is strange... Google said that once the 4.4 update is rolled out, it will make the factory images available but I cannot see them on developers.google.com/android/nexus/images

The OTA file itself is in /cache. We don't even need the file, just the sha1 hash which will be in the filename, it'll look like a bunch of letters and numbers. If we have that we can reconstruct the URL and get it ourselves from google.

The new Google Connectivity Services should help you out then, securely connects through open hotspots automatically. I'm in the same boat with no WiFi at home, luckily I have WiFi at work.

Yes it should be. I believe the update that came out is actually the security update for the old version (MM) and not Nougut.
Can anyone confirm they got Nougut as an OTA?

March update available for H870DS/S

March security update available for my H870S and also for H870DS. Write your impressions about the update!
On my h870, still on the January patch, I think this is bad news because it still pushes Oreo, it would be better to work to give Oreo rather than the latest security patch but in 7.0 :/
Hell yeah, DS TWN/CN stucks in October. Until October I thought, wow they are pretty fast with Updates, but then they stopped -.-
@Windforce0511, Is this v10hi ?
March 1st security patch
Don't know what are the improvements
Guess it's the security patch only. I wonder why these patches are so huge. Last two update were around 800-900 MB
Every region got updates for the DS this year except twn-hkg. They quit updates for china because they left the market? If it is i flash the indian over twn and done. Great phone. But it Will be my first and last lg, if it go like that with lg.
