Verizon October update page is up - anybody get it? - Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Guides, News, & Discussion

The page is up but for me checking for updates isn't doing anything. Maybe they haven't pushed it yet?

Not posted yet here in New Jersey.
Update: as of 12 noon EST the update became avaialble via OTA.

I got it yesterday. Was hoping the Live Focus "improvements" would be more than just a UI change. Oh well, we'll get 8.1 before we know it [emoji23]

4.4 for nexus 10 rolling out starting today?

Anyone get it yet? I saw a post by android on Google plus saying it will start today.

On Google's site it still says kit Kat is only available on nexus 5 currently so I'm not sure if this is reliable or not.

Well I. About to go to sleep. I'll leave my tablet on overnight and see if it downloads overnight. I hope it does. If not I'll be checking for updates every little but like I'm currently doing with my nexus 5 shipment. It kills me lol

Yup, it's rolling out, time to spam the check for updates button on my sister's N10 since mine is on a custom ROM.

be sure to pull the OTA before you flash it.
I still not get it
btw..that was quite surprising that can get update togather with new version of nexus 7
I miss JBQ.. The OTA is being pushed yet we still have no factory images..
I have my tablet stock rooted. Updating will kill root for me right?

Tried clearing Google services framework and checking for updates 5 times, no luck
Will wait for someone to actually get the update
Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk 4
Yeah Im lurking waiting to see if someone can pull it that way before I start a clear fest myself .. lol
This is strange... Google said that once the 4.4 update is rolled out, it will make the factory images available but I cannot see them on developers.google.com/android/nexus/images

Could be because they did not actually start with the OTA yet. Or did they? Anyone here received OTA?

Someone in another thread said they got it but they tried updating with out going back to stock recovery and got a no connection error in fast boot so I guess no one actually updated yet

The OTA file itself is in /cache. We don't even need the file, just the sha1 hash which will be in the filename, it'll look like a bunch of letters and numbers. If we have that we can reconstruct the URL and get it ourselves from google.

I know somebody found it and posted it, but did the OTA ever actually go? Verizon never updated their One max support doc (still showing the Kit Kat OTA http://www.verizonwireless.com/dam/support/pdf/system_update/one-max.pdf) and HTC still hasn't confirmed it on their software updates page (http://www.htc.com/us/go/htc-software-updates/).
Every other OTA I've received the day it rolled out, and I still have nothing on mine. Did you get the update OTA or flash the file linked here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2767922?
I haven't seen anything about when the official OTA will roll out, and my stock recovery isn't working, so I can't do it manually .

I RUU'ed back to stock Sense 6 then installed TWRP again.
If you check the HTC Software status website, you see that it is in the certification phase for Verizon.

March 1st in China

It seems as though the new download is available. I only have access to my phone so can't be 100% certain, if anyone else wants to check it would be appreciated.
Edit....sorry I am pretty sure I was wrong.
Haven't found a torrent or ISO link yet, and I've been checking the official Google Groups list too

It's just a placeholder on their website, I went ahead and clicked it and it wasn't a download link.
Like I said in my edit of above post I'm sorry if I got anyone's hopes up.
If I recall correctly, it was around midday GMT when the alpha was released, if that helps

It is almost noon China Standard Time (they only have one time zone for the whole country) so I guess they have twelve hours to still meet their release date.

I'm picturing them having problems updating the site because of the current load on the server

We are in 1st march too
Yea same here... Refreshing the website from morning... Its almost evening here in India

Nexus 6p Update March (MMB29V)

Hi,
I don't think the OTA has been going out yet, but Google have updated the factory website putting the Nexus 6P at version 6.0.1 (MMB29V)
https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images#angler
I'm downloading it now - file size looks similar to MMB29Q so only security updates here.
Security bulletin - http://source.android.com/security/bulletin/2016-03-01.html
I'll be updating tonight!
Update tonight then.
Whilst it's good that we are getting these monthly updates I'm surprised there hasn't been more bug fixes or enhancements updates as of yet.

It's because there security updates, bug fixes etc are just a bonus.
B/L and radio are still the same?( 2.45, and 2.50) Looks like only vendor image is new.
I´ve flashed the update through fastboot ( boot, system and vendor ) and everything seems to be OK. It´s the fastest way to do instead of having to wait for OTAs.
Is there a way to make a flashable zip for this? After my laptop's hd corrupted I realized what a pain it is to be reliant on another device to update this one.
Download is incredibly slow for me.
How to root this?

Was there any fix hidden behind the security updates, just like with the 5X, or nothing for 6P?

Has anyone gotten an OTA for this?
This update fixed the issue I had when I lowered the brightness to the minimum: It would turn the screen pink, whereas after the update this doesn't happen anymore

You do realize Q2 started on April 1
Sent from my wickedly kewl Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 using my S-Pen. Duh!!!
The tweet that was in response to was posted in February, though. I do like one of the followups, though. "Asus - in search of credibility". I still prefer "Asus - in search of the credible" better, but that's just me.
We wait..
By May we are in middle Q2, so maybe by end of April.

Agree, it was a good experience for me before this update. But now I can see lagging on the most basic actions
Updated to v1.5 and it's little bit slow
I'm wondering if a factory reset might clear it up, or, failing that, can we downgrade to the previous version?

From my experience yes the factory reset will help. I've had updates occasionally lag my ZW2 (and LG G Watch) down so doing the factory reset will help. And while yes you can downgrade unless if you find a method to block OTA updates it will keep trying to force you to update to the latest OTA.
