Its AOSP based so it shouldn't encrypt (not sure though), I'm unencrypted so no problems here. The ROM includes snap dragon camera and exodus updater pre installed. Any apps you don't require can be removed by the system app remover in settings.Yes its rooted.
Anyway its running smooth here , nice job guys...

ok, some "official" informations:
Indeed the rom leaves the device unencrypted if it is like that. We don't feel like forcing anything.
And yes, the rom is prerooted with latest supersu beta (2.68).
The rom is a mix of AOSP,CAF and CM.
We used CM as hardware/device base, but removed all these cm special stuff, like their framework etc.
The rest is aosp based with some mixup with caf where essencial needed (to support cm device stuff).
Our ROM is NOT a build in the usual userdebug type but as user type (like all the OEM ROMs). The ROM is signed with our own key.
Why have we decided that way?
Because a user build with own key signing is a little smoother most times (because of less debuggin logs in the background) and also it's more secure (because of the unique key used to sign every file).
We haven't added much stuff. Like already mentioned, we added SnapCam instead of the AOSP camera, and some other AOSP source Apps.
Beside the normal System App Remover, you can also remove AOSP source Apps, after you installed the Play store version (eg. Calendar, Deskclock etc.) by using the new AOSP App-Manager.
Hope that helps a litte. In the end, it's best to see yourself and to decide whether you like Exodus or not

Up and running for a couple of hours now, didn't know it was pre-rooted, so flashed 2.68 again :silly:. So far it's been really smooth and lag free, just the right amount of features, not overwhelming in any way. Bottom line: rock solid! Excellent work this, as should be expected coming from Martin's stable. Thank you guys, especially the OP for graciously sharing your work with us, another win for Shamu!!

Any 6.0.x GApps of your choice, we recommend opengapps.org 64bit

nope shamu is 32bit. I'm guessing he copied his op from the n5x or n6p forums and forgot to change some stuff

Thank you very much, that`s all i need to know
I`ll download now and give it a try

Main thing I look for in a ROM is the battery/notification LED and Nav bar customization. Does this have those things?

Yes, it does.

On Sprint. Wifi tethering is not working. Tried several attempts. Also went into developer options to enable keep cellular signal on while on wifi.
I noticed in the wifi tethering setting in the disconnect while idle it says "always".
I attached a logcat.

Everything is smooth and great in this rom, finally something to settle on. THANKS A LOT Devs!!!
BTW could someone tell me if we can edit the quick tiles on this rom, ive looked everywhere but was unable to find such option. Thanks!

Welcome to Exodus for Shamu.
To answer first question before it comes up:
Yes, we are working on 5.1 version but it is a big change so we will still need some days
Submitting a bug: 90% of bug reports lack the vital information required for a fix.
- Device? Use the call sign, JFLTE is your GS4, etc
- What nightly are you on?
- Clean or Dirty flash?
- Custom kernel?
- When did it start?
- Brief description
- Steps to replicate
- Log? Post it on pastebin.com or a similar NO LOGIN NEEDED, plain text website. We will NOT sign up for anything to read your log!
2) Logcat,... umm what's that?
http://www.vanir.co/word/diy/capturing-a-logcat/
If you can root your phone, then you can grab a high quality log. Short and sweet logs are better than long ones. If you search the log and do not see the words fatal or error then you missed the problem.

Good news
Welcome @Martin_Ro thanks for sharing this ROM with the Nexus 6 community. :good:
We build this for quite some time but never got a maintainer for it or better say the maintainer we found never had time (real life first) to maintain a thread.
Now I got a Shamu myself so I can support it now first hand and so it was time for a thread :highfive:

So is this CM derivative ROM?
Yes, we use cm as a base and added some stuff on it (featurewise but also optimizations).
nice to see martin and dave here, exodus is hands down the fastest rom available
Been on Vanir since the beginning and followed Dave over to Exodus. Most optimized efficient rom hands down. Looking forward to see where the team takes it. Thanks.
Flashed this. Have a quick question lol. When I pull down the notification bar...... Nothing shows except brightness bar? Is this normal or is some botched? After installing and starting it up it told me there was another update but I DL the latest from the op.... Just wondering... O and dh whatever gapps option in the updater menu fc's
Waching this based on the comments alone - a few of the users who have posted pretty strongly worded statements are not typically ones I find to exaggerate or not know their stuff.
Delete didn't read.
Can't wait for 5.1 excited for this. Just Dont have time to downgrade bootloader and radio ATM why I'll postpone the flashing. But def excited

Thanks for the feedback. Regarding notification drawer: looks normal for me, the usual tikes. You can configure them via settings->Interface->notification drawer->quick settings tile.
The update stuff is an issue we know about and have to check it...
Regarding gapps link. Do you maybe have no browser installed ?

I feel like an idiot about the gapps lmao. But the notification drawer wouldn't appear till I went into the tile section then just exited out. Then they showed up. Weird but everything else is running smooth as butter. Thank you guys for such a great ROM. Hopefully 5.1 is just as great
Does anyone know we're I can get the 5.0.2 bootloader/radio to flash? Or a link that would be awesome

If you're on 5.1 flashing that bootloader won't work and if it does will result in a bricked device. As stated above, 5.0.x roms work fine on 5.1 radios/bootloader.

I was on validus room v7.0 5.0.2 I really like elemental X kernel but it will not load for me it probably doesn't have anything to do with me being on 5.0.2 and 5.1 radio/BL but before I flashed the 5.1 Firmware Ex worked great! I can't figure out why ElementalX won't boot up.
Nice can't wait when you guys update to 5.1 I miss your Rom! Especially your Nav Bar. Don't understand why other Roms don't implement your Nav Bar.

Team OctOs presents Oct-L
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is this Android 5 (Lollipop)?
A: Yes, this is Android 5.1.1
Q: What code is Oct-L based on?
A: Starting with Oct-L, we've rebased OctOs on the CyanogenMod 12 code.
Q: What happened to AOSP?
A: All Android code is based on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP). Under previous releases, we tried very hard to limit the number of "Not from Google directly" repositories that we used. Unfortunately, issues with devices, the need for Code Aurora Foundation (CAF) repositories for Qualcomm devices, and compatibility issues meant fighting code more often than not. We decided that since the code-base for many repositories were the same across most ROMs, picking a starting point to build the user experience on outweighed the desire to craft code from scratch, or fix broken code to make it work with other changes we already had.
Q: Why isn't there XXXXXXX feature.
A: Shoot us a Suggestion if you want to see something added. While we are not going to promise to implement, we will always look into it
Q: But CM and all the others have..
A: ROM developers, including CM, build something they want to use. The ROM developer that includes something they won't run implies less than 100% effort to ensure it does work. As a team, we have similar goals and objectives. If XYZ ROM has a feature you want, and we don't include (or don't want to include), feel free to use XYZ ROM, or build your own custom version of Oct-L.
Q: Superuser or SuperSU?
A: Team OctOs uses SuperSU and is installed automatically.
Bugs:
Bugs happen. Our testers are very good at breaking things, but no where near as good as the rest of the Android public. In order to investigate and fix issues, we need the help of the users who are going to report them. The Android OS has many nifty features to help us in this, but only if we can engage the user to assist us.
Logs, Logcat, and the Android Debugging Bridge (ADB)
Like any other OS, Android has multiple log files that are generated and record the goings-on of the system. As a user, you have two basic ways to view and pull these to send to us. Without the information in the logfiles, there simply is not a whole lot of information to go on.
ADB Logcat
The Android Debugging Bridge (ADB) is a powerful tool available from Google as part of the Android Software Development Kit (SDK). Used for many things, being able to selectively see, in real-time, what your device is doing cannot be downplayed. While there is more setup involved, if you are doing consistent ROM flashing, you really should invest the time to get setup properly to do it.
ADB Logcat tutorial here:How to create a logcat log
Basic Instructions:
Download ROM .zip file and MD5 file, and grab your favourite Gapps package
Reboot to Recovery (Note: Use Reboot to Recovery from Power Menu, Hardware-based boot to recovery, or adb reboot recovery - ROM Manager or similar software is NOT supported)
--- TWRP is the ONLY recovery Team OctOs uses - We do not support flashing on CWM ---
Factory Reset from TWRP
Flash ROM and GApps .ZIP files
Reboot
The Oct-L ROM installation script will automatically wipe /system, /cache, and /data/dalvik-cache. There is no need to do these before or after flashing the ROM unless you are instructed to by your GApps Provider
The foundation of the Android OS is the fact that is it open-source. We have all code we use internally in the creation of Oct-L available on our GitHub repositories.
Unless otherwise specified, all Oct-L builds use the device's stock CyanogenMod 12 kernel.

coming from the maintainer of MERE ROM for MMA A116, this oughta be good. will check this out. all the best, @Megatron007. :good:
i'm using resurrection remix rom now, since i find it has the most customisation options. if the issues mentioned in this post could be tackled, i'd be happy. thanks in advance.
p.s.: what exactly does "NOT supported" mean? is it that you won't offer fixes for issues that emanate from using other methods to boot into recovery and/or if the recovery used is anything other than twrp? or, that things just won't work if not done exactly as told?
edit: YU Yureka is not listed in your profile . how do you actively develop for the device, then? . ok, it's listed here :good:.

A query if anyone can solve please
Does it have the issue of showing SIM Card configured on bootup?
Good ROM But..
I downloaded and installed this ROM and used the same for about 20 hours. My observations...
1. Very Smooth. Antutu gave me 33490 score.
2. Xposed worked for me without any issues.
3. Gave me fairly good battery (with varun's Thunderzap kernel)
But I faced frequent Dialer FCs. Sometimes using dialer would reboot the phone.
So I had to go back to Stock cm12.
Thanks for your efforts developer. I do hope you would support this ROM in the future. Would like to come back to this ROM quickly.

Download ROM .zip file and grab your favourite Gapps package

But in reality the roms are based in the same kernel 3.0.x and much alike. Changing the wallpapers, the colors, the place of options and maybe a more coded SElinux here and there because of apps. But in majority, they are growing like mushrooms...but not changing too much. This one I think is different, so I will try it. The way it goes with the CAF appears to be the right way. But in my humility thinking I think we are needing a custom kernel, the kernel is the base of everything in a ROM. Like it was in KK, JB, GB.

Q: Superuser or SuperSU?
A: Team OctOs uses SuperSU and is installed automatically.
Here I had to install SuperSU from the market, 'cause it wasn't installed within the rom instalation. But the option is there. Rom appear to be stable, but need to use it more. Thanks aniket.lamba
What features included? Screenshot?

Oh totally 19 lollipop ROMs for 4 yr old device...proud to be s2 user...
Thanx @aniket.lamba downloading
Rom is good, but Proximity Sensor work not really correct. By playing tbe game Real Racing 3 it function normal, but after a few moments the reaction breaks
I have been running this Rom for three days now without any issues whatsoever. It's fast, smooth and responsive. I have had one freeze issue in 3 days, but that was probably down to VERY heavy use at the time. Jumping between different tasks etc.
I haven't had any proximity sensor issues either as reported by @sourly64.

and it comes with cwm Nice rom with many features. Missing some animations, adblocker, gesture unlock and the ability to hide FC messages. Will try it for a while and report again. Thx for your :good:job
Running this rom for 4 days and had no FC's, only one reboot due heavy usage. The batterylife is better than other roms I tryed. Will stay at this rom. Great job @aniket.lamba

Many many thanks for this! I nearly hoped every day that this Rom will come for the G4 and it happened I know this from my former Galaxy S5 and this was the best Rom for it! Today I thought already, oh, great AOKP came for the G4, perhaps my new daily driver... But now, I don't have to make any choise due to this is just the best. Thank you very much!! :highfive:

Dont have the option and i Dont have the access. In other Roms i can enable it in developer options. For example: I installed tb and there was no Pop up who asked me for rights.
ROM Kernel: Linux 3.4.x! Is this correct?
Complete clean install, all works fine, SuperSU works, no issues at all, nearly perfect! Thank you for this! (if you can't access SuperSU, this is the workaround: just install the SuperSU apk manually or from the Play Store, and then it should be there.)
Only request for now: is it possible to include KCAL to the kernel?

I'm running this on the H811 variant and have not experienced the data connectivity issues found on CM13. Mobile data connects at startup without having to toggle airplane mode.
I just installed it and I'm missing a menu with mods =)
Is there some way to remove the extra button on navbar? I prefer the stock navbar buttons!
Thanks

I've tried latest CM13 nightly and Dirty Unicorn, both are plagued with the not being able to record after upgrading to 20o on H811 does this ROM have the same issue. If it doesnt I would be glad to flash, as I rather AOSP ROM and I'm stuck with stock cause of the issue.

Unfortunately, the same video record issue exists. I'm running this on top of the H8112o firmware.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is this Android 7 (Nougat)?
A: Yes, this is Android 7.1.2
Q: What code is Oct-N based on?
A: This version of Oct-N is based on LineageOS 14.1
Q: Why isn't there XYZ feature?
A: Shoot us a Suggestion if you want to see something added. While we are not going to promise to implement, we will always look into it
Q: But all the others have..
A: ROM developers, build something they want to use. The ROM developer that includes something they won't run implies less than 100% effort to ensure it does work. As a team, we have similar goals and objectives. If XYZ ROM has a feature you want, and we don't include (or don't want to include), feel free to use XYZ ROM, or build your own custom version of Oct-N.
Q: What about root?
A: Root is removed by default (user will be able to flash which ever root zip they want)
Log file APKs
Team OctOs recommends SysLog from the Android Market. This application will allow you to selectively pick any (or all) of the system logs, compress them into a .ZIP file, and allow you to save, email, move to your Copy/DropBox/Cloud Storage account, etc.

Awesome ?

Wow.
You aren't sleeping at all ?
Thanks for this, giving the flasholics their fix, very nice!!!
Just what I needed to calm my nerves
Absolutely gonna try this ROM right now thanks a lot.
How is this compared to your RR?
Also it says it has SuperSU installed but in your questions it says no root.
At the risk of looking silly. Wut?
Second edit: Figured it out. The changelog you linked to is outdated. The newer version has no SuperSU.

Sorry switched roms so can't post screen shot. But over 9 hours of use I got 3+ hours sot. The standby time is great too.
I just switched to this rom after being on Lineage for a long while. The setup was fast, worked perfect, and was very easy. So far everything works great. Chop for light works (although sometimes there is a delay) and so does the twist for camera. The only snag I have run into is that there was a quick random reboot when the flashlight was on. Other than that its been a really good start. I will update with any issues I have tomorrow. But so far so good. I love the nexus launcher!
The rom is great, the only problem is I'm getting errors with substratum.
Well I have to get RR bugs sorted out , but after that I will sync sources with Oct and publish

Ok so I can say this the battery life is great. I had between 10% to 15% more battery at the end of yesterday then I usually have and that was a fairly normal day with a few extras. I have not had any more hiccups with the os. This is my new daily driver. It looks like it could be stock and everything seems to work. I don't require root because I like using Android Pay and I like Netflix. The best thing... It doesn't heat up in my pocket like LOS It all just works. Love it! Thank you for this rom.
This may happened to me because of having a very old battery, but I never got those "great battery life" results. They were awful. With heavy usage, i got 4hs of SoT and 6 hours of battery, that was pretty good. But on normal day to day usage, results were very, very bad. Most of the times I barely got to 2:30hs of sot and ~8 hours of battery life, and it drains fast. Guess I'll stick to good ol' and boring stock 6.0
I really liked the ROM, it has very good performance, I do not drain the battery. I was thinking of installing a kernel, but I do not really see it as necessary. The only thing I did was root, and everything is fine. Today all day I traveled, all day the BT connected to the vehicle, the network in 4G. In general the mobile surrendered me 12hrs the day, with 2:30 of screen.I consider q if it is for normal use, nothing intense, it goes very well.
