Upon flashing the N beta, after downloading and setting apps up the device can get hot. Several people have reported this. The kernel needs time to settle in.

Thought you meant stock was having issues. Yeah i could see that being a problem. It's not really daily driver ready

I noticed a lot of lag while typing, but I didn't let the kernel settle in for more than a few hours. Does this eventually go away?

Which root are you using? I tried phh and there is no system write so adaway wasn't working for me...

Ah, that sucks. If there's one thing that I really can't take, is lag, especially while typing. I'll just lust after N features while sticking to 6.0.1 for now.

Recovery hangs at decrypting for me (test build 1) but flashing boot image in fastboot got me root so I'm happy.

i flashed the new 3.0.0-1 twrp and the recovery just freezes at logo :/

Wonder if you can change the SELinux mode back to enforced after you root?

Raw support is now enabled for 3rd party camera apps that support this format
There's a new color balance slider in Display for adjusting the color tone of your screen. You can now go warmer or cooler as you please.
Added Exchange support.

The did say bug fixes so I am hoping for the best lol. Would love to get the Bluetooth issues I am having resolved.

I am not rooted but some people mentioned that if you flash it with twrp you just have to re-root after.
I can tell you it does feel a little bit snappier, hitting the home button looks like it closes apps faster then before.

the way you had to install 2.0.2 was to reflash 2.0.1 to get rid of root FIRST (otherwise it will fail to flash because of root), then flash 2.0.2 and then supersu. So probably gotta do that again

[KERNEL]Stock Decrypted Kernel without Verity Checks

Here is the stock kernel without verity checks and no forced encryption.
In order to decrypt your device, you must flash the img and format userdata.
Download: http://renderserver.net/?dl=efd034ffba8b6b67c8d50ab4499ed86f -MDB08K
Do not hesitate to ask for help. I get my device tomorrow and will be working on ROMs and custom kernels when I receive it.
DISABLE BCL
Here is how to disable BCL using an init.d script.
Code:
#!/system/bin/sh
sleep 40
echo disable > /sys/devices/soc.0/qcom,bcl.60/mode
What is BCL?
BCL polls the battery monitor system for various values such as voltage, current and temperature through the battery. This driver is meant to help prevent possible reboots, but with it removed on several devices we have seen no issues.
The way it prevents reboots is by setting thresholds and when the threshold is passed or tripped, it will throttle or unplug cores, which is detrimental to performance(we have seen it on the OnePlus Two and Nexus 6 so far). With that being said, wouldn't you truly like your device to run at its maximum performance and let the real hotplugging and thermal drivers work properly?

It's just on userdata access, so stuff you usually find on the emulated SD such as pictures, music. videos. I swear by unencrypted anyways, because we won't be able to use TWRP properly without it I also remove verity so if you mod your system images we won't get corrupt system errors on boot. You will still see the bootloader one if your bootloader is unlocked, this happens on 6P and 5X.

AOSP 9.0 GSI October security - A and AB Arm and Arm64 Legacy - No Modifications

I compiled the GSI overnight, its aosp_arm64_a Legacy GSI, because the ones I keep downloading are all August security patch and I wanted it a little more up to date. I got the source directly from google and built it myself. AB is now uploaded as aosp_arm64_ab. A only is also up as aosp_arm64_a-aosp. I ran it on my One Plus 5, NFC was buggy but the camera, ril, Bluetooth, wifi, and everything I tried out worked. this is vanilla, so its bare bones. no apps besides the basics, no mods or any customizing. As this is a GSI it should be useable on many devices, I can only help you with the devices that I own, pixel XL and one plus 5. If you have a device other then that, you will have to find help from someone knowledgeable about that device. I have had success using twrp and fastboot to flash the system image. I was told doing it via fastboot is the best, so you can disable verified boot, then flash, then format all in one shot. My device did not require me to disable the verify boot. From my end it was literally as simple as 3 commands via fastboot and then restart the device and I was in. I flashed a 50mb gapps package from xda here, and magisk. took some photos, connected my Bluetooth speaker, made a call. sent some texts, installed a few apps. I will be staying on stock. But only because my device has stock pie, and the theming from one plus far trumps google.

It's very fast. install and boot was very fast. but I just discovered my home button does not work. however I don't assume that would be a difficult fix. the back and pages button are working. its very bare tho, you need to install everything you want manually. Which I prefer, it gives me more control over my phone I find. Hydrogen works ok too, it just requires a bit of work to get play store going and remove all the bloatware. GSI camera worked fine from boot.

It shouldn't. But its twrp. Weird things happen. Use fastboot. Its only 3 or 4 steps. The tutorial is on the google gsi website. I tried via twrp and had no issues however. It started to launch then rebooted, second boot it loaded OK
