Pretty awesome phone for $200? Surprised it's so quiet around these parts. Anyone think this sub will grow/they'll be development for this phone?

Our device already got cm12.1 unofficially with major bugfixes .
Everything is working great and stable .I mentioned this coz we got cm build in just one and half month of release .
You can know from this how faster the development is going .
You should thank crpalmer,hondajohn88,banditdevelopment and all other devs who are working day and night for our device .

That's awesome. They're awesome.

I agree. ROMs will be coming. This device is still being tested so some folks are not free to go full tilt.

I truly hope that is the case, however one simply needs to look at other huawei xda forums on here to find plenty of evidence to the contrary. Maybe this one will be different though. It's off to a good start, but only time will tell.

Most of the huawei devices have the kirin processor in them, thus making development difficult.... Phones with sd processors were not bought that much because huawei didn't release their phones in USA..... But 5x not only has sd 616 but also is sold in usa.... So the we should see development for a long time.... Hopefully

No one is twisting your arm to use a phone with old software or old custom ROMs... either wait until Huawei drops the Marshmallow Kernel Sources and Drivers or kindly GTFO if all you want to do is complain.

The number of Developers are decreasing :'( Will Luphorhirp ever return?

Guys... the development of our phones is coming to an end... we have less and less developers everyday and I don't think I'm good enough to develop anything decent my self.... we need to find people to develop and fast if the future of our phones is to be a bright one....
I agree with you... but I think maybe is time to other people (including us), learn some more and keep doing a nice job. Not as great as some developers I guess, but someone has to do the work. I know, its hard, but what we can do if not is change our phones
Awesome devs, don't leave us hehe.

This is just my two cents worth:
Take a look at the Android Development section. There are many budding developers with their themed roms oh, I mean heavily tweaked and modded roms out there. I'm not sure about the rest of you but I feel that this is simply wonderful. Its a good opportunity for beginners to learn more and serve the online community here. I'm sure in 5/10 years time down the road, some of us will look back and say "Hey the Optimus One was the Android phone that got me so interested into developing and look at much I've learned" or "It was my Optimus One phone that made me love Android".
So alright, our phone isn't considered a legacy device (yet, of course hopefully never) so hang on in there I love my O1!
Sent from my LG-P500 using xda premium
Well...I think the developers are enough to build an stable version of ics.For GB,we already have Oxygen which is amazing..or neko's rom if you like some changed graphics. If we'll have stable ICS...I don't think we can request something else from them.Even like this,I'm happy with Oxygen.
The thing is that o1 gets older and older, and resources are very limited.600 mhz...just saying.
The developers will upgrade to better phones.
This phone...I think it was it the top when it comes to developrs support. It was a cheap phone with good performances at that time. Now games, versions of android, apps, all request more resources and in time this phone won't be able to offer enough.
Probably this phone was a challenge for most of developers. We wouldn't have so many roms if this would have...a 1.4 ghz / dual core processor and this stuff.
Don't worry my friends,in time we'll upgrade our phones too.And for most of us,this phone was "first love" ...and you know what they say,you will never forget your "first love"

you realize that this phone is 2 years old and most developers have switched to nexus devices.
you realize this will never have an official update ever again
you realize this has an armv6 processor
you realize that we have reached a "glass ceiling" for now maybe quallcomm will be nice or someone comes up with a workaround or we can get a leak
you realize that this phone has no official flash support
you realize that we have an HVGA display
thats why so many devs are leaving and or moving to another phone IE. Nexus
so many devs went to the nexus, franco, milk, bok, dax\
im new here

I'd really like to change my Optimus One for a better phone but I really can't spend lot of money for a phone. Android 4 is beautiful but set a LOT of devices apart. Now Android looks like something for the few. I still have to understand what should I do with a dual/quad core phone: my Optimus One is old, armv6, 600mhz but I can still use it with Lightbox, Twitter, FB, G+, gstrings, Maps, Endomondo and a lot of apps with no much lags (and I didn't overlock). I hope Tizen or especially Boot 2 Gecko will be good enough to revive not-so-incredibly-old phones like ours. Android is fantastic but it's going too fast.

[Q] Is Quincyatt (I717) Further Development Stopped/delayed/suspended ?

(Cross post from forum.cyanogenmod.com)
Hi everyone,
I wonder if there any plans to support ATT version of Galaxy Note ?
all recent updates are minor and I don't have any hope that CM10.2 (not even mentioning CM11) will be ported to it which is kind of sad.
I understand that there are some issues with stability and drivers. Does that mean I need to get other hardware to continue using CM ?
Due to all those problems I switched back to stock image and not happy with it, but it is damn stable ((
Thanks for any update from the team.

so what i am reading here is you have 6 posts. i understand that you cannot post in development yet, but that does not slow you from reading.
i am not a technical brainchild and lack the ability to understand some of the terminology, so you will have to give me a little leeway.
development may have appeared to have slowed, but take into consideration the age of our device and the rate manufacturers are producing devices. we may not ever get another official upgrade for our Note, but my phone has ran better in the last few months than previous 8 months. there are some brilliant folks out there working selflessly for us. you may not find much in the straight CM development department, but since release of 10.2/ 4.3 roms, it is much more stable than 4.2 ever was. it runs smooth and effortless with none of the random reboots which plagued 4.2.
now we have quickly bumped to the 4.4 development which is still in its infancy. give it time. there are 2 Alpha/Preview releases right now, with at least another in the works that i know of. my guess is someone will have a Beta or full release by the end of the week at the rate these guys go. cant hold me to it as i am just a recipient who benefits from their deeds. that's just my guess from what i see as far as their work pace.
so excuse me now, i have to put some Kit Kat 4.4 on my phone, which has only been approval to run official 4.1.2 JB.
i am sure this is going to prove to be a good conversation starter here. thank you
take the tour here and ask your question again

I'm sure there are brilliant people in CM team and they are doing amazing job, this is doubtless.
This is the only reason I'm trying to get back to CM world and get any word on further development.
My only source of information on the releases are:
http://10.1.cmxlog.com/?device=quincyatt
https://github.com/CyanogenMod/hudson/blob/master/cm-build-targets
http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=quincyatt&type=
and xda of course
First three show very little progress on this particular device. I'm not complaining, but just trying to understand current state of I717 support.
In comparison with I717 twin - N9000, we get less updates.
I saw 10.2 builds in XDA forum threads, but I consider them as unofficial builds, and I know nothing about them, how well they are performing, etc. I will try them for sure, thanks for pointing that out.
All my question is about is future support of this hardware, should I think about upgrade or just give up and use stock ...

as i said take the tour, take some roms for a test drive. i don't know what you consider your experience level is........
everything runs a bit different on everybodys phone. for example, the Carbon rom has lots of cool features, but it just doesn't seem to want to work on my phone. i just don't want you to label all roms on the basis of one. Hellybean runs great on my phone. there are some here that wont give a phone or rom time to settle in. they make so many tweaks and adjustments in a rapid amount of time, they don't know if there adjustments actually did anything.
so be patient......if its not compatible for your phone, you will probably know right away. if it works, give it some time. there are good and helpful people here. just try and help yourself first and read.
getting ready to slam some Kit Kat on my phone right now with Jaime's CM11 preview 4.
As cyanogenmod seems to have dropped us for 10.2, we are unlikely to see official CM11 support. Our hope for further development lies in unofficial builds from Jamie and Patch who have been kind enough to build from source and share their talents with us.
Normally, I would accept that, at some point, you have to stop beating a dead horse. It's unrealistic to expect a 2 year old device to be supported with the latest and greatest - especially in an environment like Android which seems to have such a quick cycle.
The alpha builds, however, have proven to be more stable on my device than anything 4.2 or 4.3. My question is whether or not we will see some important functionality (like TTS and video camera) restored on OUR device if it is not being supported by CM officially?

What I'm also trying to understand what would be a better strategy to have decent device with enough attention from developers...
There should be some balance here, since advanced devices are good in performance, but expensive and not widely used.

Personally, I'm loving the AOSP feel of 4.4 in a way that I have never really cared for it in Android versions prior. The way Google now is integrated into the GEL is how I would use Nova Launcher to setup previous versions.
With it's super stability, I am really praying that you give us something akin to your Nexus or Evervolv roms...Hell if we can just get working TTS and Video camera on top of what you've given us with your alpha, I'm done...............
.......until my next phone.

Devs are also users. Almost all of the devs work on the devices that they own. We may not have the quantity of devs for other devices, but we definitely have quality devs. I also have GTab 2, and LG Optimus and Galaxy S2 LTE, which I manage for my family. Some have very active devs, some don't, but they all have good devs.
I don't know what you mean by "enough attention from developers", but we are getting plenty from our devs even if we don't deserve them. Whatever we are getting beyond the official 4.1.2 is all gravy. Jamie's CM11 preview is running awesome, and I haven't tried Patch's 4.4 rom, but I expect the same.
What more are you asking for?

Yeah I don't know either, wish a Dev could explain this to me... The Optimum G has a mostly functioning Lollipop ROM according to a post I saw on G+ yesterday... Why would it be harder to build for us? Especially since so much of our hardware is similar to the Nexus 5...

You do not need a 5.0 kernel for the G2, older devices have newer versions of android w/o having the corresponding source. I'm using 4.4.4 on my Galaxy S1 just like my G2 (except the S1 obviously didn't receive 4.4.x).

That's disappointing, but I can understand why the rez won't get a newer Android edition.
Recently I tried out my Rezzie after thinking that my mom killed it (she inherited it after I bought an N5). Turns out the battery only drained, I think. The thing yet has some vigor left to it.

Hmm. daniel_hk is working on Android M for Galaxy Tab 7+ & 7.7, and the 7+ at least is stuck with kernel series 3.0 because that's all the binary-only blobs support.
Working on M for the rezound might be pointless. There's even less activity for this device now than for the 7+. And those binary blobs are really, really awful. I even don't want to buy a new Android device any longer. I wish that the Replicant project were more successful, but it seems to be dying for lack of interest: no wonder since going without the blobs requires sacrificing prominent features (eg GPS, bluetooth, even wifi) on every supported device...
Good things do come to an end at one point or another. I'll be 2 devices removed since Rezound soon.

Very high likely-hood it is fake. Poor grammar, mentions a different phone (Q610s), and has no pictures of a Rezound on the page. The tell tale sign is the file requires you to complete a offer before you can download. Searching more on the site reveals tons of pages for other phones with identical text, and you guessed it, the exact same download link for the files.

I know we won't see official Stock Android N 7.0 but I'm wondering about a custom rom hopefully
It's a very unlocked device (with the exception of ATT and VZW models) with a very good spec to Price ratio and an active and skilled dev community. I'd say the odds are good.

I would have to agree. Being a Moto G 2nd gen user myself, and an Ontario Can. resident, I was quite surprised to see an actual official update to 6.0.1 [Wind Mobile] commencing just a few days ago, see my thread. It went from 5.0.2 when released a yr ago, and then an entire year of uncertainty and disappointment with Motorola [see thread: Motorola's failure to meet promises/updates] Then, 2 days ago, @ 1pm --> 6.01.!! With respect to the devs and community in general, I am more than impressed! Considering the phone is less than a hundred bucks, no matter where you are in the world, the amount that has been done and can be done is quite impressive! Mad love and respect to the community!!!

Yes. Official. 6.0.1 ... XT1527.
Anyone know what I need to do next? I d/l'd it, but did not install yet.
.
Am surprised and pleased at the same time too see a discussion thread already on Android N for this device. Having just started using the stable Cyanogenmod release I would be glad to see N someday down the line on the device.
The device is still an extremely good buy for the budget users, especially in the emerging markets. I see myself using the device as my daily driver for a year and a half down the line. The new lease of life that M has given it, I don't see a reason to switch to another device at this particular point in time. Plus, phones of this particular dimension are slowly disappearing off the market, which is not the best of developments, so, since someone like me only uses the device for communication, browsing, light social media, some pictures. Considering how media consumption on phones never really made sense to me, bigger devices never have either.
Well, we'll have to wait for CyanogenMod 14.

I'll definitely be waiting on Resurrection Remix for Android N lol, I don't have much faith in CM these days

Actually RR is based on cm,so I doubt if RR team will start working on N without a cm release for surnia and otus, cause they need that cm base anyway.

It'll be here for Surnia before I see it on my S6 (if the S6 ever gets it!)

RR being based on CM makes no difference to me, it's better than CM itself, so when people tell me that BS that's what I tell them, to me CM itself is garbage

Lol don't matter if you think cm is garbage. You failing to realize is that cm makes RR, and the majority of ROMs relies on a fully working cm.....bugs on cm, those same bugs on RR....

What's the hurry with everyone getting impatient with wanting to know when CM14 will be releasted???
I'm lead to believe that we won't see any port of CM14 until N goes official, probably on September.
I can see a partial working port for surnia by end of the year.
I want to elaborate I'm no expert and i base my comments on what I've read here on XDA and other android sites.
Moto e second gen WILL NOT get an official port of N, full stop.
I'm hoping some of our esteemed developers may lend a word on their thoughts about this.
I started a thread asking this question as I couldn't find this one, and im glad I've found it and already we have a great discussion going.
As a side point, I still own and use a first gen moto e as my work phone, its running CM13 and people are also asking if that device will see CM14, nice to see the interest not waning!

Its not BS its a well known fact that RR is cyanogenmod based.
Your assumption that CM is garbage is based on you using a cyanogenmod ROM with some very good extras........
I think that's quite ironic and a little amusing!
While you are perfectly entitled to your opinion, and I respect your opinion, let me tell you that I'm a big RR fan and a current user, up until a few days ago.
Ive been using RR with no major issues right up until 5.7 came out.
I had major issues with the new release, and I'm not using it anymore because of a sudden and complete loss of my data, music, photos and contacts.
I now also have a corrupted and unusable SD card, my contacts have disappeared off Google, off the phone and my sim now doesn't even work, the contacts having disappeared off there too, its been a complete disaster [emoji27]
Read the RR for surnia thread and you will see I'm not the only person who's had this problem.
Something has gone majorally wrong with the update, and unfortunately I've now moved away from RR and back to CM13, and yes, it could have happened whilst using CM13 but it hasn't.
While I love RR nothing else just works like CM13, and I've never had a sudden loss of all my data or any major problems.
You can disagree and laugh at me, but to loose personal, important and special things in the blink of an eye and then take almost three days to get my surnia working again is putting me off re flashing RR.
I'm sorry if my rather passionate post was off topic, as you all can probably tell I'm annoyed and hacked off I've lost everything off my SD, and I did not have a back up because I had only had the SD card less than two weeks!
