Samsung Galaxy S2 i9100 Won't do absolutely nothing. - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a certain problem with my Samsung Galaxy S2. It's a bit old now, It has about 4 years with me. A couple of days ago, I was charging my phone and it was a bit hot. And I recieved a call. I answered it, and the phone went black. I tried turning it on and, nothing. All it showed was a blue screen with a black circle on the top left corner. The phone hasn't gotten any bumps or has fallen out of my hands or anything of that nature. I decided to turn it off, take out the battery and not touch it for a day. I placed back the battery the next day and, this time, nothing shows up. Today, I decided to use it again, and connect it to my laptop, and the laptop detected it. I really don't know what to do. Is there a fix for this problem? I'd appreciate your help. Thanks.

is downloadmode working (when phone is off, do voldown+home button + power button)

[Q] 1 year old HTC HD2 dead? Different situation

Good evening.
Well, i know there are like hundred other threads about dead HD2's, but this is strange:
I bought this used HD2 yesterday, 1 year old, never used with stock ROM. I have been using it all day today, after it was recharged all night. But the well known freezing issue started about late afternoon, and i took the battery out and replaced it, and it worked fine again. It did until i went to bed, where i just checked my facebook, and wanted to close down and sleep. Then it froze again, and now it won't start at all. I also charged the phone for about 40 minutes this evening. When i try to turn on the phone, it either vibrates shortly, or light up the hardware buttons, but no screen. I took the battery out and in again, nothing. Tried to charge it, no red lamp, nothing. No bending pins under the battery, i can't hard reset. When i tried to hard reset it, i could hear the sound, like when i turn the volume up and down, so it must be turned on, just not the screen. Tried to put small paper-bits under the battery, nothing. Now i will try to charge it all night, but it won't work, i think.
Also, i tried to lick the battery, and yes, it works.
Is the phone dead? Should i call the service-provider and get it repaired?
Thanks in advance and merry christmas!
so it seems (if i am right) the problem is possibly your screen. correct? (or more, right?)
can you boot into bootloader? doesn't seem like you can....
one option to see if your phone is working and your screen is bust is:
http://www.mymobiler.com/
never used it myself, but you can see your phone on your computer. if all looks normal there, well then your screen is bust. if not, and you can't get into bootloader, then it seems the phone is all bust.
Well... Now it works again after having the battery out all night, inserting it, waiting just 15 minutes and then turning it on! Is there a way to avoid this? Some fix or something?
I suspect that the reason it was onsale
I thhink we have the same problem here,.... is your device getting a little warm on the back....

Samsung Galaxy S2 - Wont turn on.

Well back again with new problem.
Have just had my phone back after it was repaired only a week ago by samsung; they repaired the software, replaced screen, battery and USB port. Now my unrooted phone, with only usual apps, has again failed on me. Was on the home screen, nothing else running, and it turned itself of. After a minute turned itself back on, held at the Logo, and then turned of again. Now it wont turn on what so ever. Its not got hot, its not got cold, its not been in a room with steam, its been sat in a decent zenus case, in a house with radiators etc on.
I seem rather unlucky with phones, my old Nokia 5800 went into repair 6 times, until I gave up and brought a £10 phone, that I'm having to use again now.
I have tried charging, despite the fact it was still 62% full when the phone went of. I don't do extreme sports with the thing, I barely use the phone, yet it still keeps breaking. Disappointed, because the phones pretty decent, but starting to feel like I don't do well with them.
Rant over.
Update: Just tried after 30 minutes to turn it on. It turned on for about 15 seconds, got into the unlock screen, unlocked, went to the menu screen and it turned itself of. I put the charger straight in, was charged up to 59% anyway, but thought maybe might be battery... But doesn't seem to be.
Wont turn on/Charge again. The phone is fine temp.
What you're describing could be a phone with a drained battery.
So check the battery with a voltmeter and check the charger. One (or both if you're really unlucky) of them could be busted.
Edit: You can check the charger by plugging your phone to your PC and charging it from there. If it works then it's the charger if it doesn't then check the battery.
Is all else fails return the phone to a service center.
Try this-
Take out the battery, then press and hold the ON button for 7-10 seconds (the longer the better). Reinsert the battery, then press ON button to start it. This is a soft reset, and wipes the temporary memory and empties all remaining power in the circuits. This helps on many phones and even laptops that won't start properly or show anything on screen.
If this does not work, try the next step. Again, do as above. But after inserting the battery, do not turn the phone on, but press and hold the ON button and the HOME button at the same time for 7-10 seconds. This is a hard reset, and works best if done after a soft reset. Just be sure the battery has at least some juice in it and isn't empty. If possible, try with another battery if this does not work.
I read earlier about a similar problem and it turned out to be a loose fitting battery. They put some foam or something at the bottom of the battery so that it would stay tight and retain contact.
You could probably test for this by removing the back cover and pushing the battery upwards while powering on.

Thank you very much MichaelAmrs. you saved my Galaxy S2
Awesome Advice
Thanks MichaelAmrs
I have had some serious trouble with my GS2 not working and the latest has been it not turning on. I stuck my battery in the freezer and then did what you suggested and it worked like a charm. Instead of getting it to boot I tried putting it in Download mode and was able to install the Stock ROM on it and hopefully now it will last. But if nothing else at least it is turning on again.
Good luck.

[Q] Rezound dead?

Hello!
Earlier tonight I received a text message and then my phone died - I knew the battery was nearly dead.
When I plugged it in, nothing happened - no orange LED like usual.
I let it sit for a while and still nothing.
Eventually I pulled the battery and put it back in and still won't power on.
Pulled the battery again (left it out), left the back cover off, and then plugged in the power.
After about 2 seconds the orange LED comes on for about 4 seconds and then turns off <---I've not seen any other posts mention this.
The phone will not boot still though - tried holding down power for 60 seconds, and even tried in conjunction with volume up and volume down.
The screen remains black, no vibration, no HTC logo .. nothing.
My wife has the same phone, so I put her battery in mine and it still will not boot.
My phone is NOT rooted or modified in any way (using stock VzW rom)
The screen is cracked but it's been that way for months and I've had an Otterbox on it ever since (go figure .. should have had one before it got broken). It's been working fine. It has not gotten wet today, or been sat on, or dropped or even looked at funny.
The phone is out of warranty and I do not have VzW accidental coverage.
Are there any more tricks to try, or should I go to the store tomorrow?
Thanks!
I am going to plug it into the computer and see if ADB will see it, but my assumption is no.
I'm thinking maybe the processor died... ???
I know if a PC processor dies then nothing happens when trying to boot .. no post beep or video.

[Q] Phone stuck rebooting

Really hope someone can help me here.
I rooted, and put CM10.2 on my phone a month or two ago (don't play that much with ROMs, etc), but fancied a change from stock.
Anyways, it's been fine (although battery life not quite as great as before, but hey ho), this evening just got a WhatsApp message, dropped the notification bar down, clicked on it to open Whats App, and the phone rebooted... And then continued to just reboot over and over after 2-3 seconds (showing the i9300 Samsung logo with the red ! in the top left).
Removing battery stops this obviously, but weirdly when I put the battery back in boots straight away, and continues to just loop like that. Holding power, home, vol up/down makes no difference (been playing with this for about an hour now, and searching other peoples solutions, someone said 5 times wait, and release). Just can't get anything other than this loop, just weird that I can't actually turn it off either.
Suggestions please?
Thanks Gunja
Booting as soon as battery is inserted indicates power button sorted out, try wiggling it or seek a repair.
Yes I believe thats the case, as I have actually got it into the "Accept different OS" mode, stays there for 2 seconds and reboots. Nothing seems physically weird about the power button.
It did the sudden die thing a few months back, and I returned it to Sammy UK and they fixed it (due to 2 year warranty) in 2 days. It's still under 2 years old, so will give them a call. Was rooted before, but didn't show the red ! in the left left. Hope that they don't mind that, as this does seem to genuinely be a physical hardware problem not software.
If you just hold the power button on the S3 when it's booted, just it just turn off eventually? How annoying, 2nd problem with it in the last 4-5 months, wonder if will get another sammy when upgrades due in a couple of months. Lets see how their support is again this time round!

[Q] galaxy tab 10.1 not booting up

Today, when I turned my tablet on, I immediately noticed two things. One, the battery was critically low. Two, my homepage looked strange. Everything was not only fuzzy, but it also had a "thermal camera" effect, where everything was either bright yellow, red, green, or blue.
I had to board a plane at the time so I was like, "Fudge. I'll deal with this later" and shoved it back in my purse.
When I got to my hotel, after having charged the tablet for several hours, I tried to boot it up but it wouldn't work.
I restarted the device but that didn't fix the problem either. Now it just stays on a lit up blank black screen. Occasionally static horizontal lines will flicker across the screen but mainly it remains as the lit up blank black screen of death.
Please help! I am not computer or tech savvy. I also did try holding down the power and volume keys simultaneously as others suggested but that didn't work either. Please help. Thanks guys.
This may be important info: I felt my tablet get really hot two days ago.

I'm not really sure but this sounds like a busted digitizer. And that's hardware. If your computer can still read from your tab while it's booted up and connected now would be a really good time to save all your data. You could take it to a repair shop. If it's not too expensive to fix do it otherwise I would be looking at a new tab.

Press briefly on Power button while it's charging. If you don't see the battery charging icon I'm afraid it's a hardware issue.
