Need help from people who officially unlocked bootloader using miunlock tool - Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Questions & Answers

Anyone who have officially unlocked their redmi note 3 snapdragon variant using mi unlock tool, please help with few things:-
1) flash twrp
2)open twrp, goto backup and select only Aboot and Abootbak and then swipe to backup.
3)boot up phone, goto file explorer and then twrp/backups/deviceuid/date/
4)send me the files aboot.emmc.win and abootbak.emmc.win by any means you can, uploading or facebook
Maybe I can find a way to permanently unlock the bootloader of redmi note 3 pro, theres already a way but it bricks devices a lot.
Thanks!!!!

Which ROM do you use? And what you suppose to do with it? [emoji15]

Maybe I found a way to unlock redmi note 3 bootloader in a better way, help me with this, I unlocked my bootloader using unofficial method(by magdag), went to twrp mode and then backed up the aboot file. The aboot file created is aboot.emmc.win and compared it with the modded emmc_appsboot(by magdag) file using hex editor, they looked similar and so I concluded that aboot.emmc.win is a mbn file. My question is if someone who officially unlocked bootloader(using miunlock tool) can backup their aboot file using twrp, rename aboot.emmc.win to aboot.emmc.mbn we can use it to flash and our bootloaders will be same as theirs right? will it work?

appreciate your help, thanks :good:

Check the screenshot for files
Well, I don't find any abootbak.emmc.win file. Please check the screenshot and let me know which files do you need.
P.S. I skipped data partition to backup, as it won't need it anyways.

[ROM] MIUI 6.6.17 (MIUI8) China

This is an official MIUI8 developer ROM for Redmi 3.
Recommended for locked bootloaders.
For unlocked bootloaders do aboot backup because the bootloader may be relocked after flashing this ROM.

I flash this rom in my redmi note 3 pro and I install gapps and rooted the phone with supersu, putting the gapps and supersu Zips in the microsd and follow the method to entry in twrp to install the Zips without lose the original recovery (the system of the forum given't permissions to me to put external links) .

What process did you go through? I'm interested in MIUI8/root/GAPPS.
As for MIUI8 it seems that the only available version is the China Dev one. It comes bundled with a ton of useless chinese apps, no root, no gapps.

Mine hv previous china dev rom installed (miui7 6.5.26) before, and i was download miui8 from official site and flash it manually via updater (choose update package). No data loss or relocked BL after (even all my games still there)
Gapps using google apps installer.apk frm mi market.
Root: just tap root permission in security apk and it will download (i assume its miui root file or something) and device will rebooting by it self after. Done.
Ps: i have no superSU installed.

Thanks for the answer. What I did, is flash it from the TWRP. I must have missed that I can go from 7 to 8 from within the OS. Now I'm back to 6.5.2.6 so it's good to know. I'll update soon.

Help! Officially Unlocked Bootloader. Whats next?

I have a few questions.
1. Do I need to root the phone separately using super su? Or just flashing twrp will do the job?
2. Do I need different super su zip files for different roms ? Or any super su file will work?
3. Whats the best stable rom right now? [ Miui or any custom ]
Have you unlocked officially or unofficially? How many days it took you to unlock officially after receiving the sms from Xiaomi? I got my request approved since 13th July, yet unable to unlock bootloader as it stucks on 50% and gives account different error all the time. Have you changed your ROM to get it unlocked? Thanks in advance for your help.

It is better to unlock via official method it will take time but will be good. it usually take a week or more to unlock after reciving permission msg. the errors are irrelevant to problem. try after few days good luck

After officially unlocked the bootloader, you can used this to flash twrp: http://en.miui.com/thread-296053-1-1.html, used twrp to flash superSU2.65.zip for rooting. I personally preferred alka twrp for flashing official rom with ease. No Force Encrype Boot.img 7.1.1 DP

Could anyone explain the advantages of having a boot img with no force encrption? I read that it allows flashing tweaks etc but I seem to be able to do that now via twrp. Manual changes to build prop seem to survive reboots too. Is it a performance thing? Thank you

Flash OTA 7.1.1 zip via TWRP, than flash SU. And let it boot. You'll have Rooted 7.1.1 up and running you'll lose TWRP but since your rooted you can use Flashify to flash TWRP. Files needed OTA, SU, and TWRP.img file.

In fastboot type fastboot erase userdata than fastboot erase cache. This will wipe your data. But also removes forced encryption.

RN4 in bootloop. . . please help

Hi, I tried to unlock the bootloader of my RN4 (running MiUi 8.0.4 Global Stable), I got official permission and all that, but then something went wrong and my phone got into bootloop. I downloaded the fastboot ROM and tried to flash it via XiaoMiFlash but it says couldn't find the flash_all.
What can I do now? Help please
Hi, did you flash the China Development Rom before unlocking?
en.miui.com/forum.php?forumlist=1&mobile=2
I'm pretty sure that is a prerequisite? Someone please correct me if I'm wrong here.
Do a search for bootloader unlock bootloop over at MIUI here & see what you can find.
en.miui.com/forum.php?forumlist=1&mobile=2
sorry, my mistake, the error was couldn't find flash_all_except_storage.bat
but when I looked into the folder where I extracted the ROM, I saw there was no flash_all_except_storage.bat file. There was flash_all_except_data_storage.bat, so I renamed it to flash_all_except_storage.bat and the corresponding .sh file as well. And the flashing process worked this time...

I saw people talking in the MiUi forum that the unlocking process works in Global Stable as well, but most people prefer the developer version. So I gave it a shot, and well, failed

I think you need to be on the China dev/beta rom as Wilderone advises, that's how I did it and it worked without a problem. Use the SP flash tool, seems scary but pretty straight forward and you just need to to read and follow the instructions.

And I still can't find the OEM unlock button. I downloaded the rom from official forum, so it's not vendor customized. Shouldn't the OEM unlock button be under the developer options menu?

If the OEM unlock button doesn't show, its probably because your on a vendor rom. You need to download the fastboot rom to flash with and follow the instructions at the link below.

Sorry not sure if my link worked,i tried to link directly to the correct file. If you go to the link below and download latest China developer fastboot file, look for the Redmi note 4. This is the file you need to use with SP flash tool. When booting up the rom for the first time, you need to log in using your mi account, you should then be able to go to developer settings and look for mi lock option where you can switch it on to allow bootloader unlock.

If you want proper help getting phone running atleast say what exactly you have done, "i bricked my phone" doesn't mean anything.
What phone model you have, what TWRP version and what you have flashed.
You probably need to Format Data + Wipe System/data/caches in TWRP and flash a ROM.
Homever if you wanna go back to stock use MiFlash. http://en.miui.com/thread-565784-1-1.html
Do you have Mido (Snapdragon) or Nikel (Mediatek) variant?

Use Magisk to root not SuperSU. (it's outdated and not updated that often)
Like i said if u want to go back to stock use MiFlash guide i posted above.
Or just wipe System/Data/Caches and reflash MIUI.

MiFlash always works no matter what. You just have done something wrong or missing drivers, everything is explained in the linked thread.
And if it doesn't then say in detail what are you doing and what the error is.

MiFlash always works no matter what. You just have done something wrong or missing drivers, everything is explained in the linked thread.

I was searching around the internet to find some other solution and some guy suggested clearing boot file. I cleared it and now my phone says "the system has been destroyed". When I tried to flash it with miflash, it says "cannot found file flash_all_lock.bat"

Unpack the image you are trying to flash with MiFlash.. you are probably trying to flash .tgz , that is archive and inside is .tar file which you are supposed to select with MiFlash.

That's not what you were supposed to download, which only proves you didn't even read the instructions from the link i have posted.
Read carefully and follow this MiFlash guide: http://en.miui.com/thread-565784-1-1.html
Or if you want to keep TWRP just reflash MIUI from this link: http://en.miui.com/download-321.html (WIPE SYSTEM/DATA/CACHES in TWRP before flashing it)
