Rom change from 4.4.4 to 5.0.1 or higher. - MTCB Software Development

Hey guy,
i have yesterday changed my original rom (pumpkin) to malaysk-rom. So good so fine.
But now i am thinking about changing from malaysk to joying (the newest one - 5.0.1. or higher).
Did anyone test this?
Or sorry my unit is a rk3188 800x460.
regards peter

Thanks!
But where can i see if i have a new unit?

peter

If you previously installed a Malaysk ROM you have an MTCB head unit.
To check, see your HU system information: MCU version should begin with "MTCB".

what I find weird is when I compare the specs of EU-JY-UL135 and EU-JY-UQ130 they're both exactly the same, still the first is with Lollipop and the 2nd is with kitkat....

But of course everyone is reading the wiki and checking their device info before they do ANYTHING, including post . . . . arent they ?

Help identifying 2Gb/8Gb RK3188 with AP6210 rf chipset

Hi
I purchased from lightake.com a android TV, named as "MK809III RK3188 Cortex-A9 Quad Core 1.8GHz TV Box w/ Bluetooth WIFI HDMI OTG 2GB/8GB Black" It came with 4.1.1 installed and although sometimes it reseted by itself, it was working. As from the outside it's just the same shell as W2COMP's and it was named equally I installed the MK809III 4.2 version available at w2comp.
It took some time to flash it, because the reset hole was not over the reset switch... OK, I just did a new hole and I was able to flash it.
The problem is that now it properly boots, but neither the WiFi nor Bluetooth work anymore... I began to read about the many names of the beast... I found that Rikomagic 809IV was said to be the same... I downloaded the firmware, I flashed it but the WiFi still doesn't work... Same happened with other ROMs. (MK820IV, from rikomagic, tronsmart MK908)
I guess that the problem is that the WiFi/Bluetooth chipset is an AP6210, and it’s not supported on these ROMs.
I have been said that this was an UGOOS unit and their sales dpt. has told me that they haven't produced any RK3188 with AP6210 inside...
Can you help me to identify it? Or tell me which ROM could be suitable for this? Or a original ROM?
Best regards and thank you!!
Eduardo
did you back up the rom using nandroid backup app to sd card? ?

Rikomagic MK802IV with AP6210 support
Official Rikomagic ROM
Try this MK802IV rom, as it's a new rom that's developed with AP6210 support
http://www.sendspace.com/pro/dl/z80zb4
Good luck
--------- Just realized that the link is dead, also the official link is down so I guess that you'll have to keep an eye on the rikomagic forum until a new one pops up.

(Old thread, I know, but might help others.)
This ROM works wonders for me:
NEOMODE CUSTOM ROM MK809III AP6210 Version 1.9a
If you are a bit more daring, try this:
MK809III AP6210 NEOTV CROM Version 2.0 1080p
(I'm not yet allowed to post URLs on this forum, so you'll have to use Google).

If you open the case (use a guitar pick to gently prise open the case going around a little at a time) you'll be able to see the wifi chip which will be marked with its make and model.

I can't help you without enough details.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
What all do you need to know?I can only get so much info from the tablet. I bought it from a pawn shop because it had a cool clear case and looked sturdy (it's for kids) but when I turned it on it had some crazy version of Android on it. The tablet has no name and pawn shop guy didn't know. I saw an update file, peeped in it, saw buildprop, etc. I just want a basic version of Android on it(jellybean I assume since buildprop says version on there is based on 4.2.2.). If i post buildprop is that enough? Or do I need to post the update file also along with board and chip specs?

HELP - Beelink GT1 Ultimate

Hello, I recently bought a GT1. I would have liked to switch to Android TV but none of the available roms is compatible with my box, each time it's a brick, forced to flash the basic rom. Looking better, I did not find a compatible ROM with my serial number starting with LPN1. Do you have a track to flash something that works or there is nothing available?
best regards

I just flashed https://www.atvxperience.com/download/s912-v2ff-ddr-lpddr-ram-18-oct-2018/ successfully on mine.. Used the s912_LPDDR_atvXperience_v2FF.img file.. So far so good.. Flashed using USB to USB, and USB burning tool 2.1.6.. Android TV 7.1.2.. LPN1 32g/3g ddr4.. Only one I've found so far but was worried about hard brick so waiting till someone else confirmed it
Edit: Well, not sure now.. Seems every app that I've downloaded (Kodi, Chrome, VLC, the usual) minus showbox works fine but a lot of the apps that were originally on there (atvx apps) just crash out.. May have been a bad flash or I'm missing something simple. Will try reflashing later but it definitely doesn't brick it..
Hi, this version is compatible with the serial number LPN1? By reflashing all your applications work

It doesn't matter what the serial number is. All that matters is the architecture of the components of the ROM you're installing match up with the architecture of the box you have. In your case, any of the ROMs supporting the Amlogic s912 Octocore chipset should work on a Beehive GT1 Ultimate.
It sounds like a mistake you're making in the flashing process that is bricking your device, not the fault of the actual ROM.
Anyone know where to get Android 9.0 firmware for gt1_313M0 ? Is Android 6.0.1 really the final version of Android for this?!?!

Well, Android Updates depends on the Brand of your phone. He may not be updates so regularly if it's a lower range phone.
To check if you have an update , just go to Settings->About Phone->Android Update (or something like that)
If you tell me the Brand of your phone I may find if there are available updates
Have a good day

I spent days digging then eventually found this when I wasn't really looking:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...are-place-link-with-all.3262491/post-82430255
I don't know how new you are to this but but a few words of caution, from what I've read you do not want to be mixing firmwares for MCUs with different letters to yours. Otherwise you end up with a brick unless you're any good at precision soldering.
As for updating/downgrading, I've also got an MTCB-JY and was on v2.16 from stock.
I've since upgraded to v2.86 then downgraded to a darkleo modified version of v2.59 (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/mcu-universal-mcu-list.3246386/) because this supposedly has sleep enabled and I'm hoping to find a ROM which utilises this.
