is it possible to make a custom dload? - Honor 5X Questions & Answers

I'm wondering... is it possible to use a customized DLOAD set?
What is barring us from using the stock restore with a customized stock ROM?
File format?
Compression algorithm?
Encryption keys?
Signing keys?
It appears i can easily open and examine the contents, so what's the problem?

It is possible to create your own Update.app with the HuaweiUpdateExtractor tool. I never tried it, but I read somewhere someone else did.

I am going to look into it more then... the idea of having a rooted stock image ready to restore to with stock recovery... brick remover! LoL

Thanks for the reply... i already knew where to get it... but have to root the STOCK FIRMWARE before you can get it... the only method i knew how to root the STOCK FIRMWARE is by using HWMOD firmware and flash with root firmware... the BOOTANIMATION in HWMOD is different already not the original BOOTANIMATION from HUAWEI mediapad...
now i'm asking maybe some have it and share it...

[SCRIPT] FULL PHONE BACKUP (excluding system partion and data)

Hello I made simple script.
It backups all from TA to hardcoded modem log,its located on partition mmcblk0p8 and register how much you use your apps.
Anyway by using this script you can fully restore your phone so can freely do TA test with no worry.
Im going to provide restore script tommorow to.
Backup:
http://www.mediafire.com/view/?bo11on96r8nqfp0
Restore:
---
P.S I would request someone doing backup and unlock bootloader then again backup and then restore first backup and again unlock and again backup.
Thanks.
EDIT: Please make ddbackup dir on sdcard before running script
Thanks a TON for this but Please playing with TA resulting in bad damage to hardware!! I don't think it will be a good idea, But thanks again for making this great tool!

Yes it backups all from bootloader to kernel expect system and data partition.
Can't believe I waited 6+ months to unlock my bootloader, I finally do it and two weeks later a way to save the DRM keys etc is released. Fantastic...

Hey, any news? I'm waiting for restore script and if U upload I'll try this and give response.
I have still locked bootloader, so I'll try to backup, unlock and then restore.
I think this might be usefull info for others people that want to unlock their phones, but are afraid of losing DRM-keys.

Dear developer .
I think your thread with this script should be a sticky, so that anyone would know about this before unlocking bootloader.
I have also a question about restore script - will you post it sometime soon or you're too busy? Im not rushing you or asking for eta, just curious and eager to unlock bl .
Cheers

Need help from people who officially unlocked bootloader using miunlock tool

Anyone who have officially unlocked their redmi note 3 snapdragon variant using mi unlock tool, please help with few things:-
1) flash twrp
2)open twrp, goto backup and select only Aboot and Abootbak and then swipe to backup.
3)boot up phone, goto file explorer and then twrp/backups/deviceuid/date/
4)send me the files aboot.emmc.win and abootbak.emmc.win by any means you can, uploading or facebook
Maybe I can find a way to permanently unlock the bootloader of redmi note 3 pro, theres already a way but it bricks devices a lot.
Thanks!!!!
Which ROM do you use? And what you suppose to do with it? [emoji15]

Maybe I found a way to unlock redmi note 3 bootloader in a better way, help me with this, I unlocked my bootloader using unofficial method(by magdag), went to twrp mode and then backed up the aboot file. The aboot file created is aboot.emmc.win and compared it with the modded emmc_appsboot(by magdag) file using hex editor, they looked similar and so I concluded that aboot.emmc.win is a mbn file. My question is if someone who officially unlocked bootloader(using miunlock tool) can backup their aboot file using twrp, rename aboot.emmc.win to aboot.emmc.mbn we can use it to flash and our bootloaders will be same as theirs right? will it work?

appreciate your help, thanks :good:
Check the screenshot for files
Well, I don't find any abootbak.emmc.win file. Please check the screenshot and let me know which files do you need.
P.S. I skipped data partition to backup, as it won't need it anyways.

Honor 5x upgrade to 6.0

I would love to upgrade to 6.0 when it comes out the only thing is is the update gonna break my phone due to it being rooted and having a custom recovery and if it does remove it would I be able to reroot my device?

Yeah, of course. Since Huawei provides unlock codes for our bootloaders, root will always be at our finger tips. You will just need to flash SuperSU or equivalent.

TWRP for 7T Pro

I just got my phone and i wanna root it straight out of the box but no twrp available yet, is there a twrp which would work?
According the the OP, this one should work.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...overy-unofficial-twrp-recovery-t3976961/page6
In term of rooting, I have to idea if flashing magisk is enough or if there's a need for a patches boot image.

doesn't work, unable to mount partitions
Until the is a fully functioning version of TWRP for Android 10, this is a moot point. At this time, TWRP is not fully functioning with Android 10. That isn't a Oneplus incompatibility, it's an Android 10 incompatibility.
That being said, you don't need TWRP to root your phone. Since Oneplus released the factory image, you can use Magisk and the "Boot Image Patching" method.

I realized I was looking at the 7t image, not the 7t Pro image. I guess you will have to wait a little longer until the 7t Pro image is released. Sorry for the confusion!

But don't bother, it's useless as of right now on devices launched with Android.

Is there no way to delete the existing partitions, create a partition suitable for flashing an OP7P ROM, and then flash a fully working TWRP? I am more interested in doing NAND backup/recovery than I am flashing ROMs; Being able to do both would be a plus.

You can repartition your phone like an 7 Pro, but its very risky and something msmtool won't be able to revert/revive.
You have to use others which I don't think are even available for us.
