Adaptoid - Shield Android TV Themes and Apps

Has anyone used the app Adaptoid for the Shield? They have a TV and a standard version. Wondering if your limited to shield compatible games and apps with the TV version.

I've used it. it allows you to install pretty much anything that's in their store. including stuff that the playstore won't allow.

PlayStation Official App not available for AT&T?

Just saw the PlayStation app just came out yesterday and naturally wanted to download it. When to the Android Market on the PC as I usually do to install, and it says "This item is not available for your carrier" just as it does when you try to install Barnacle - a prevention from AT&T.
What's up with that???
I just tried also. Same error as you.....THis network makes some of the worst decisions for customers

The app is only available in Europe right now.
But I guess you can still download if you have root:

Good call! Even easier than using MarketEnabler which I did shortly after I made the post, forgot all about being able to fake providers right off the phone.... Gotta remember that for the future....
did anyone who tried this have any success in using tha app as intended in the US?
Yeah it works fine, it doesn't really have much functionality beyond checking which of your friends are online, but yeah it works.
The app works except i can't login. I try and it leads me to the login page again saying it cant find the redirect or something.

Keep trying - it didn't work the first time I fired it up, so I tried again and it worked just as it should. Quite limited as SG Pillar stated, but it works. Keep it on your phone and update when applicable, should be more functions to come just like the PSN as we all know....
there's also a 3rd-party app called "PS3 Friends" which works well for seeing who's on your PSN.

[Q] Play . google instead of market

Anyone know if the Devs are working to get the new play.google app to our phones with or without custom roms?
Out phones are listed are supported however no update to my market app yet.
**Grip**
WTH would google switch to play.google.com and not stick with something a little less childish for those that are actually trying to get android in to the mainstream business enviroment. Basically i have to tell people to allow play.google.com through firewalls now instead of market.android.com sounds funny to me.

MLB At Bat '12 not compatible with the Rezound?

I tried to buy this app in the store and it says not compatible with my device? Why the hell not? This has me quite upset, I was hoping to listen to games while its slow at work. Grrrr......
Works for me, i am listening to the brewers cards game right now

Nope, shouldn't matter. I'm on ICS. Find the free version APK and sideload it, and then it gives you the option of logging into your MLB account to get the audio streams.

Thanks, I will have to learn how to do that for future games I guess, I'm at work typing on the phone right now so....
I have the free version on my phone, that one works. It's when I tried to upgrade that it won't.
Hey, it's a thread I have something meaningful to contribute to. I just got this working today. I have At Bat 12 Light, but I had to set lcd_density back to 320 to get it. Then I found I couldn't stream video. So I did some googling and learned how to spoof the phone model. See, MLB only allows video streaming on pre-approved devices. Rezound isn't, but galaxy nexus is. There are 4 (I think) build.prop entries that need to be changed. Unfortunately I can't find the link at the moment, but you shouldn't have too much trouble searching various keyword permutations.
Wait, is anyone able to buy the MLB at bat app that costs 14.99? This is the one I can't download because it says it's not compatible with the Rezound. The "lite" version isn't the problem...

So I just paid $20 for the annual subscription to MLB.com, do I also have to pay $$$ for the app to listen to games?
No....
If you paid and have a MLB account, you should be good to go.
I have the 24.95 sub which includes the video (but doesn't currently work on the Rezound, just the radio audio feeds work).
I downloaded the free "lite" version of MLB and just put in my log and pass and it works fine on unrooted stock GB.
To be sure that I wasn't losing any MLB access or features (outside of the live tv feed) I also put the "Lite" version on my Dinc (which does work with the Live video feeds) and it worked fine...
So you want the MLB lite app.
I personally went to the MLBTV website and subscribed there.... Got my log and pass and then downloaded the app from Google Play.

Thanks guys, this is what I did and it seems to have worked. It's obviously not an ICS problem since there are guys using it without trouble.
The ROM absolutely does matter. There are several apps that I cannot reload on CleanROM 4.2 from either pushing from the Play website or downloading in the Play store app. In the latter under "My Apps" it actually tells you it isn't compatible when click the app and go to its page.

[Q] App required screen size, work around for Note?

There are some apps in the Play Store that I would like to use on my Note. Unfortunately they have restrictions like screen res. and physical screen size. One such app requires a screen size of at least 8.9", but the resolution requirement is the same as our Note.
Is there anyway to "fake" it so I can get the app?

Unfortunately, 1 doesn't mean anything to me. I'm newish to Android. I had a tablet briefly (had to return it) and in that time purchased the app I'm talking about, but because I don't have that app, I don't really have a way to get the app on the Note.
When I had the tablet, I was able to side load it onto another device. But as I said, I don't have the tablet, so I'm looking for an alternative method. I've been considering Rooting and flashing ICS anyways. But if this app doesn't work, I might not bother. Or rather, if I have no way to "get" the app.
Thanks though. I do appreciate the response because it continues the searching and thinking process for me.
What is this mystery app? I am running tablet mode on my note (213 dpi on CM9) and would be more than happy to see if it comes up as available for install. Have you also tried going to the market through a web browser and seeing what it says?

Haha. No real mystery I guess, but I wasn't sure what would get discussed here or if it might be against policy. The app is Adobe Ideas which was updated to 1.5.1 and works with the upcoming gNote 10.1. So, I was curious if it shows up with a rooted and ICS'd gNote 5.3 with the proper "dpi" as you put it. After that, it's a matter of figuring out with the pressure sensitivity works with the app.
When I visit the store through the web browser it says it's only compatible with the tablet I returned. I haven't rooted and ICS'd my Note yet. If this app works though, it would push me over the edge to do it.
It won't come up in the market thru app on my note. Through browser says compatible with some of my devices. Without hitting the purchase button I am going to wager a guess that it is compatible with my Transformer but not my Note.

Well, that's a bummer that it doesn't show up. But that doesn't mean it doesn't work.
So changing dpi is generally what you would do to make tablet apps show up? So back to the original question. Is there a way to get around this app not showing up in the store?

Rooted, any suggestions?

It's been 2 years since I've rooted my last device. I'm a bit out of the loop with rooting. So what's your guys opinions on some good rooted apps?
Maybe there's some good apps for cosmetic changes? I've tried a few launchers, but they all feel very fake and tacky.
Of course I should learn how to use Titanium backup, I'd say that is a pretty common apps that rooted users use, eh?
Thanks ahead of time!

My favorite is blackmart. Tons of paid apps for free. Just google it and you can find their homepage to download it from. Other than that I usually only root to get free tethering but I found a way to get that without rooting this time so looks like I'll be holding off until we have some stable ROM's.
Thread moved to proper forum.

Yup. Not sure about YouTube (I think you need Xposed for that) but definitely Ads that appear all around some apps. In certain apps, the Ads totally disappear cleanly but in others they leave a black bar behind. That's depending on how the apps are designed.

Last time I checked out Cydia, it was for downloading paid apps for free. Correct me if I'm wrong.
However, Xposed is not for that. It's for making specific customizations to your ROM, as if it were cooked right into it. You need Xposed framework and specific modules for it to work.
Also, you're right about Samsung devices not being supported yet (work in progress).

i was searching around xda and found this forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-sprint/general/lollipop-hotspot-root-flashing-t3048163 ... follow the steps and you can unlock the native tethering app that comes in the settings of android. i have the unlimited everything plan with sprint so i have unlimited, never metered data. and with this workaround, i dont even have to root my phone to get free tethering, which i sorely need. i use on average 75gb of data a month so there is no way im ever leaving this plan lol

Aw man that sucks. I had to leave ATT because even though i was grandfathered into the unlimited data plan, they would start metering me after 3gbs and i just couldnt stand it.
Ya they are being sued by FCC, lets see what happens, they start throttling at 5gig these days, but would surprise me if they did it at 3gig, they are not transparent at all
