It could just be me but I'm having problems with the MM system .zip. It downloaded but wouldn't copy to my phone. I also tried opening it with 7zip and I get an error there as well. I'm redownloading it in case it was a corrupt download.
In the mean time, I was able to flash the first file and then root and unlock. But, not only is there no wifi, I also cannot make or receive calls. My data does work. The may be corrected when wifi is, just thought I'd mention it.
UPDATE: I downloaded the file again and got the same thing. I tried just copying the file to a thumb drive and that failed as well so I think maybe it got corrupted when you uploaded it. I have them MM downloaded. What do I need to do to make the system folder flashable? Just zip it or is there something else?
UPDATE: I tried copying it to the SD card and it said it was a "multi volume set".

I didn't have to convert the files. The firmwares that I downloaded were .tar.md5 and I flashed with odin. I do use 7zip for extracting files and in my attempts last night to make a flashable rom I used 7zip. The roms that I made before and posted were made using superr's kitchen on Linux.

[ROOT]For TELUS Note (i717D) - No Flash Counter

Thanks to braway and Blue1k,
braway gave most of the instructions, and Blue1k provided the system.img file.
All I did was testing and uploading.
I'm not responsible for anything that will happen to your device;
I tried it and it worked without ANY problem:
My flash counter is still at 0, I have TELUS Stock system/kernel etc. and I have ROOT.
Download these files:
TELUS system backup from a TELUS Note Rooted by Da_G's kernel:
http://www.mediafire.com/?4229vkvbrkz9y8d,kc6xrajpg3klpm2,3kwo3lpmn9q7jvt
(Sorry for part files, mirrors will be appreciated.)
ODIN3 v1.85:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=986462&stc=1&d=1333721477
Test the archive file before you flash, make sure it's not corrupted!
Instructions (copied from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1518962 , Thanks to roloracer)
1. Turn off your phone and uplug it. Take the battery out of your phone, put it back in, and hold the volume down button and power button at the same time. Keep them held down until the phone starts buzzing and you see the Samsung name.
2. At this point you are either in download mode or the phone will tell you to hit volume up, at which point you'll be ready.
3. Run Odin on your PC -- right click and choose "Run as Administrator" just to be safe.
4. Plug your phone into your PC.
5. In the Odin screen, wait until one of the top boxes turns yellow and displays some numbers.
6. UNCHECK all the boxes except for Auto Reboot.
7. Unzip the file that you downloaded.
8. Hit the PDA button and navigate to telus-rooted-system.tar.
9. Hit start
10. wait until your phone reboots.
11. If it didn't work, try rebooting and starting from scratch.
12. Install Superuser app from Play Store: Superuser

You can get stock TELUS recovery image from here:

Not ready to flash with ODIN, you'll need to search to do that If you don't know.
thanks, the 3 individual files, how do you make them into one tar file ? Do you extract them to all one file or is it automatic when you extract each of the 3 files ?

[Q] What am I doing wrong?

Hello. I am new to forums in general. In fact I made this account just now so I can get some help as I cannot seem to find an answer anywhere.
I am trying to flash clockworkmod to my Galaxy S4. I have successfully rooted with the help of Odin and Motochopper. I downloaded Rom Manager from the playstore and used it to flash(?) CWM 6.0.4.4. When I try to boot into recovery a yellow triangle with an exclamation point appears with the text, "System software not authorized by Verizon Wireless has been found on your phone. Please turn off your phone and go to the nearest Verizon Wireless store for help." In the top left corner of my screen it also says Secure Fail: Kernel. If I reboot into download mode and press the volume key down, my phone resets and boots up normally. What is going on?
I have tried using these methods but they don't work.

I have also been following this guide here:

but the prepare and flash recovery image step makes no sense to me.
My SuperSU is up to date. My rootchecker also states that I have root access.
I have version MDK.
Can anyone help me please?

Is there a guide how to use this in Odin?
Doens't work, you get a eMMC write fail
edit: now my S7 refuses to boot. I can still acesss the download mode, but odin cant seem to flash anything on it.
So my S7 is now useless :\
edit 3: these files are old, thats why they dont work if you've recently updated your phone.

Lol. No, PD3 is still BL v2 - you can flash it no matter what current version you're running. And the files are official - they don't harm or corrupt the phone.
eMMC write fail has nothing to do with the files themselves. That's a board-level issue
can we get a re-up
Any chance anyone has these files? I am stuck in boot loop and trying to work around it.

How does one go about flashing this? I'm currently on Sprints latest update

Hey, Here is a link to the Android Oreo OTA
https://samsung.firmware.science/download?url=48993/1488/SS-N950USQS2BQK2-to-U2CQL1-UP
Before you can do this build you will need to be on 2BQK2, so to get to that you need this build: https://samsung.firmware.science/download?url=48993/1488/SS-N950USQU2BQJA-to-S2BQK2-UP
ODIN for BQK2: https://drive.google.com/uc?id=19gW_CxUf2HdL4UYyxTkyOnBY8cluRIVS&export=download
this file for BQJA is on SamMobile, SamFirm, and Updato. These are OTA updates besides the flashing required in that.
I currently have an S8 on the Oreo beta and will be buying a Note8 this weekend because of this. I AM SO EXCITED!
Oh just a side note, this may be unstable and crash, you have been warned.

1. Download Odin and flash this https://drive.google.com/uc?id=19gW_CxUf2HdL4UYyxTkyOnBY8cluRIVS&export=download
1.5 In CSC use HOME_CSC to keep data, normal to wipe
2. Download this file: https://samsung.firmware.science/download?url=48993/1488/SS-N950USQS2BQK2-to-U2CQL1-UP
3. If you have an SD card, transfer that to your Sd carz
4. Boot into recovery
5.SD: select update from sd card then select your OTA called update.zip
5.ADB: on your phone select sideload over adb then type adb sideload update.zip (replace that update.zip with full file directory)

N950U, so kinda but no, not really. If you set your CSC to A then yah, if not it has carrier bloat.

I'm already on sprints latest. That ok or do I need to downgrade before doing update.zip in recovery? Any mirrors for U2CQL1? Every time I try to download, it fails

I seriously just got to about 750 mb downloaded of the file and it just stops and starts over. Can't get it downloaded? What the heck lol
I was at 12 percent and the same thing happened to me lol. I'll just wait for the mirror.
Somehow, after 4 attempts at downloading, it worked and only took ~5 mins. everything appears to be in the zip file. I loaded the BK2 file (never got cell signal, and had a lot of strange things in settings) and am applying the update now. Hopefully this doesn't screw up anything. with the BK2 my settings showed custom for the status though, so not sure if I just screwed myself out of Knox stuff.

Looks like it's working, some things I noted:
I had a few strange apps in my service folder (BoA and some games)
Samsung connect was causing a bunch of force closures.
Even though I was on unlocked before this, I ended up on Verizon (my carrier).
Everything else seems normal, and had I done a wipe I'd probably be in even better shape. Might to a whole tomorrow.

Don't need odin for this, it's an OTA.
Just put it on your phone, and go to recovery mode and flash from update.zip or whatever.

Help getting back to stock

I am trying to get back to stock everything. I have a UK model, STF-L09 C432 variant. This is day 3 of pain.
1. I've downloaded various versions of update.zip from https://pro-teammt.ru/en/online-firmware-database/?firmware_model=STF-L09C432&firmware_page=0. I make sure to go for the FULLOTA-MF versions so as to get the system partition.
2. I've extracted the following paritions using the huawei update extractor tool and flashed each:
System – fastboot flash system SYSTEM.IMG
Ramdisk – fastboot flash ramdisk RAMDISK.IMG
Kernel – fastboot flash kernel KERNEL.IMG
Recovery – fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk RECOVERY_RAMDIS.IMG
3. I try to boot to recovery with VOLUME UP + POWER. Bootloops into erecovery which only has an option to "Download latest version and recovery", Reboot or Shutdown
4. I try the download option. It connects to wifi successfully then says "getting package info failed".
5. I try to boot the phone normally and the same as step 3 happens, erecovery.
I notice the FULLOTA-MF has two files, update.zip and update_full_STF-L09_hw_eu.zip. Am I meant to be extracting something from there and flashing it too?
I should mention prior to me putting on a custom rom many moons ago (openkirin one) I had to upgrade to android 8. SO it is android 8 images I have been trying to install. I don't care about losing data.

Can you access stock recovery?
If you can access stock recovery then you should try connecting to your WiFi and sees if it downloads stock firmware for your device?

Unfortunately that doesn't work. Just times out with "getting package info failed".

The 2nd link is misdirected. Would you happen to have a link to a similar thread?

I am sorry but I cannot help you, since I do use this device anymore and I really do not want to get any other devices from this manufacturer.

No worries, and I can't agree with you more. I ain't touching another Honor/Huawei device ever again. I've never had this much trouble dealing with flashing with any other brand.
