Stock firmware - Galaxy View Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone know where I can download the stock firmware for the verizon model? Also, can I Odin this firmware without USB debugging enabled? Thanks in advance.

Have you tried sammobile?
http://www.sammobile.com/devices/specs/SM-T677/
I don't see one specific to the Verizon View though....

You probably have already gotten an answer for this at some point in the last year but just in case, the way to enable USB Debugging is to just go into settings, and scroll down to About Device, find Build Number and tap it 10 times. That Enables USB Debugging in just about all Samsung devices. I'm sure you found listen to over the last few months but I figured I'd would added here since there's not a lot of posts on the Galaxy View.

Yes you can flash Odin without ADB Debugging due to it being done from Recovery (power up the tablet using power and both volume buttons, then volume up (Away from power button) and boom, then you use Odin..
Do you still need the Stock Verizon Firmware?

Do you happen to have the firmware for the Galaxy View? Sammobile is charging for the files now.

[Q] Download mode first time starts a download. Normal?

When i first got my phone back from repair i wanted to use download mode to put the CWM in and flash it. But when i first did it it started a download process is it normal?
2.3.6
What download process exactly?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
In the middle
" Downloading ....
Do not turn off target"
It has some writing on the top left too would you like to know what it says?
nothing is downlading...it by default shows like that...when you start download from ODIN you can see the WRITING PROCESS TIMELINE under that logo
Could you please elaborate how do you put the CWM in while on the Download mode
Yep, as above. That is download mode. Now your try to connect to Odin (kill lies first). Edit: kies not lies (stupid Swype)

Oh Im just following these instructions.
- Unzip the attached CF-Root-xxx-vX.X.zip
- (USB) Disconnect your phone from your computer
- Start ODIN
- Click the PDA button, and select CF-Root-xxx-vX.X.tar
- Put your phone in download mode
- (USB) Connect the phone to your computer
- Make sure repartition is NOT checked
- Click the START button
- Wait for the phone to reboot
Im sorry its just my first time doing anything like this xD
yes instruction is correct,
Make sure dirvers are installed, Kies to be killed,
once you connected the phone to PC (connect to mother board USB socket backside)
the ID:COM box will be highlighted in yellow, and in the message box you can see "added"
Good luck...
Do you kill kies first then go into download mode?

Odin must identify your phone first like said above..
uninstall the Kies, download the latest version from Samsung install after a PC reboot, after install reboot PC, (kill means not unistall, close the applicaion, also check in your system tray)

if you have successfully flashed correct CF-root from ODIN, thats it, next is your duty to google for rooted applications.....
@ UpInTheAir : for my knowledge if I am not correct,
Download mod itself is a debugging mode, not essenstial to do it from Menu...
the people who did not enable the debugging mod and bricked the phone or stuck on boot logo have been flashing ROMs by enterin into download mod without any treble...
@ZACQ8
Thanks i installed a custom rom now and its working fine and dandy.
One last question. Could you point me to where i can find how to check flash counter and reset it? and re flashing stock roms increase flash counter? or really how do i get everything ready so i can return my phone to repair if the time calls?

to reset counter you need a Jig and old bootloader to flash, if the current one is new...

So, you were flashing back to stock. Which means that you have flashed with ODIN before, I presume. Which means that you probably have the correct USB drivers installed on your computer.
Power up your device, or simply be sure that you are seeing the phone/computer sign. This is, as Supermaster34 said, forced download. You should be able to flash a ROM from this screen.
1. Run the ODIN software. Insert the USB cable into your device.
2. In the ODIN interface, click the PDA button.
3. Navigate to the directory where you have stored the stock ROM and double-click the ROM to open it.
4. Now, press the START button.
5. ODIN will flash the stock ROM and automatically reboot for you!
Good luck!:good:
Samsung Kies/Drivers
You need to install Samsung Kies to your computer first, which installs the drivers that ODIN needs to detect your device. Then just plug it in, put it in download mode, and flash with ODIN.
I recommend you make sure to use a STOCK Samsung cable. Your computer may not recognize your device without it!
I have experienced more than one problem with several of my previous soft bricked Moto phones and most recently with a player 5.0 that I purchased cheap because it was hard bricked that I was only able to fix using the stock device cable.

USB Debugging NOT ENABLED - Phone locked!

Hi,
I was trying to remove any trace that my Samsung i9300 phone had ever been rooted but in the process I forgot to re enable the USB Debugging mode so consequently now I am locked in the download mode & if I try to reboot, the phone states "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again."! So as you can hopefully appreciate I am a little peed off with myself & for the life of me I cannot see away out of it so is there anyone out there please who can shine a bit of life on my troubled phone & please do not forget that the USB Debugging is NOT enabled.....
Kind regards with thanks
Phil
UPDATE
I have now tried flashing CF-Root-SGS3-v6.4 with Odin3 v1.85, but whilst the phone appears to be making a full recovery & Odin confirms a successful flashing it stops on the black Samsung welcome screen with an exclamation mark to the top left hand corner to the screen, so could anyone advise me what my next step should be please?

when you flashed the ROM, did you unplug the USB connector?
sounds like you bricked your S3 mate
You said that you flashed CF-root?
CF-root flashes recovery and kernel for root access.
Download a full stock rom from sammobile and flash it :good:
USB Debugging has no affect on download mode...
Upon Odin confirming that it was successful it was then & only then did I unplug the USB cable

Given that Odin confirmed that it was successful after the flashing the the latest UK firmware from Sammobile I then unplugged the USB cable, but I then found that the phone hadn't actually finished & instead it stopped on the black Samsung welcome screen & it won't budge from that. This may or may not be the reason for this, but I feel that I may have forgot to enable the USB DEBUGGING, so would this cause the phone not to boot correctly?
As I am unable to boot the phone, I am also unable to enable the USB DEBUGGING, so is there anything that I can do to resolve these issues please?

I have a same problem with OP.
After entered to recovery mode and wiped/cleared cache, I didn't boot the phone, just continue to download mode.
It's mean USB Debugging is not enable after recovery. Now my phone can't boot also can't charge just appear msg:
"Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again."
Recovery via Kies can't be done because my phone have a problem IMEI=unknown and Baseband=unknown before this happen, so Kies can't recognise the phone. If IMEI is valid and Kies can connect the phone, the problem can be resolved by Kies.
I hope someone here have a good solution how to resolve the problem that ODIN can't reflash the phone because 'USB Debugging' is not enabled in the first place.

Unable to Reset the Passwords - LG G2 Europium model

Hi,
i have Lg G2 D802 European (UK purchase) model phone of which is password locked, it was used by one of my family member and they have forgotten the Password. its in stock firmware.
here are the bellow issue i am facing;
1. USB Debugging mode is not activated
2. phone doesn't boot up to Recovery (for some reason its not going to recovery- key combination doesn't work)
3. wifi and Data was not active before its getting locked.
all i have is download mode. which is not been quite help. i have also user's Google account details which is also not been a help as WIFI/DATA is not being connecting.
I tried with LG suite, phone is getting recognized
i tried ADB, but phone doest get recognized to execute the command .
i tried almost all method which was provided in the XDA and couldn't get to their.
Please advice.
in this case you have only one option left and that is make reflash stock rom using download mode.
as you described debugging is off, No Data Connection, Recovery isn't accessible. you are simply locked away from any way to unlock your device
Download the stock Rom and flash it using Odin.
And remember one thing, always make sure USB Debugging is enabled, it really helps in such cases.
all the best
Hit Thanks if helped.

I don't know why the Recovery Combination isn't working.
The last option is left to take your phone any service center and let them do the technical work. and also ask them a way to access recovery.

In your case i would try changing the COM port number assignment (to something low such as 1, 2 or 3.
Basically you open Device manager (while phone is plugged in, in download mode) and find the COM port (under COM/LPT) double click to open properties and go to advanced tab (if i remember the naming right) and then change the port assignment number to a low number as i stated above.
Then reboot PC and try to run odin again.

So the first thing i notice....if you look under "FAIL" (red box) it shows your com port as 16.....this com number should be changed to a single digit number 1-9 (preferably 1,2,3,4 or 5).
Google "change COM port assignment" for details with pics.
