IOT_H850 does not support bootloader unlock - LG G5 Questions & Answers

Hi, i just recieved my H850 which i bought online, when i tried to boot-unlock this one, the site responded "your device IOT_H850 does not support bootloader unlock, please check your model" so i emailed lg-dev support. They told me that it was a sample unit and does not support bootloader unlock. My question from this helpful community is that am i doomed in this matter(unlocking bootloader/ rooting/ rom updates) or is there any hope. I cant get a replacement on my device so thats out of options.

unfortunate there is no way to unlock
the only way to root is to wait for an exploit or to get a replacement unit
but if you can not do that, you are out of luck

That is what i am gonna do, Wait.

Facing same issue how much we have to wait?

IOT_H850 is a sample model. Allows updating via OTA or through LG Bridge???
Thank you.

Hello,
I've same problem, not yet any possibility actually?

Same problem here also. help please

[Q] Couple questions regarding sim unlock and BL

1st I wanna say i came from an inspire so probably things are a bit different.
I bought a att atrix, now I will be using this in the dominican republic so i need unlock, in the inspire rooting would give you radio OFF and your device would be unlocked, after reading here unlocking BL and Rooting won't give you sim unlock and the best thing to do would be to buy an unlock code from ebay. Some one please confirm this.
Now the device comes with gingerbread, I don't need to flash an sbf right? I can go straight to unlock the bootloader?
Now to unlock the bootloader, ive seen several methods, the easiest ones seems to be the Script which has everything, but after readying the latest posts, almost everyone is getting issues? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1182871 is this recommended or not?
ALso found this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1202883&highlight=sim+unlock
Just wanted your input on how should i unlock the bootloader since getting the money for the phone wasn't easy and I don't want it lost by hard bricking.
Also any insight on further processes like installing CWN and Rooting would be helpful.
Thanks in advance, will thank people who help.
Anybody? Hello?
Call or chat to AT&T customer support for sim-unlocking your phone. Better to use online "Chat" since they'll ask your phone's IMEI # and you don't want to misspell it. Atrix is not exclusive to AT&T, so if you're kind and reasonable enough, they'll give the unlock code to you for free. Call again if you're denied at first, I'm sure you'll meet someone who wants to help you. I just got mine a few weeks back.
For BL unlocking and rooting, see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1154600 if you're new to this.

[Q] How to retrieve my current unlock code?

Hi there!
I was provided an unlock code by Dell, and unfortunately I had imprudence not to rewrite it somewhere. So, my phone is currently unlocked, but I want to figure out what is my unlock code.
Maybe somebody knows, is it possible or not?

the best advice I can give you is call Dell Technical services and they will gladly provide it for you. let me know how it goes.
If you've already unlocked it, the code itself isnt useful anymore as there's no way to reuse it. It's not possible (to my knowledge) to relock a phone under most curcumstances.

Unfortunately, I called Dell Support Center only 1 time over Skype, when I was in Ukraine.
They asked me the copy on invoice, which I hadn't have because I was not provided it by the seller on Ebay. And also they asked my EService and ServiceTag. I fib a lot of different reasons on the question, why I cannot provide them the copy on invoice, but they didn't break. Later, my seller contacted the Support Center and they provided him a new unlock code. That was the solve of my question. And as I've already told, I had imprudence to lose it.

I do know that if I use unlock code, it can't be used anymore. But.
The reason of creating the new topic was that I'd flashed my Venue with MIUI, and on the boot of the phone, it requires a sim pin, and then it requires a network pin or smth like that. But after I've flashed official 325 firmware, this message is gone.
Now I want to back to MIUI, and I'm interested, what will happen.
Later I'll post a result.
Thanks everyone for answers.
Flasing different firmaware is not going to restore SIM lock; once your phone is SIM unlocked it will stay that way. SIM pin is something different. IIRC the default SIM pin is 0000 or 1111. You should be able to get that from your carrier.

[Q] Changing Bootloader Unlock Allowed: NO to YES, Neo V (Mt11i) Claro Argentina

Hello everyone, I'm Santiago, from Argentina. I bought an Xperia Mt11i (Neo V) smartphone last year from argentinian phone carrier Claro (ex-CTI).
It's my first android phone and as I came to learn a bit about the system, I wanted to unlock my bootloader o I could install custom roms and kernels, as I have been playing with some cutom roms, but I can only access the ones that do not require Bootloader unlocked (i.e., I can't install CyanogenMod, MIUI v5, etc).
Checking in the SERVICE hidden menu, the status in my phone says "Bootloader Unlock Allowed=NO" (so I coudn't follow the official Sony guide to unlocking the bootloader) and I contacted my phone carrier to ask them wether they could do something about it, either by free or paying methods. They replied that bootloader is a device function, not a service provided/modified by them and that I should ask directly to Sony. As there is no Sony mobile branch in Argentina, I went to the talk.sonymobile forums to post my question in hope that someone may be able to tell me wether something can be done about this. Over there someone said that they thought it could be done (something about having done it with xperia Z), that I should ask over the xda forums, so here I am.
I searched info over the forums but didn't find any threads regarding my specific problem, which is changing the "bootloader allowed" status from NO to YES with phones bought from a telephone carrier. I've found tons and tons of info on how to unlock the bootloader, but all of them are for "bootloader allowed=yes" cases, so I thought it was worth the shot asking about this.
I should also add that my phone is in fact SIM-locked at the moment, and I have no idea wether this is a limitation for what I'm trying to do or not. Reading throughout the web I encountered several places that said that SIM-Unlocking your phone via NCK code (which I could obtain from my phone carrier) does not, indeed, unlock your bootloader, but I was wondering if it might, at least, change the status to "Unlock Allowed=YES" (this, I read, is sometimes the case).
I am eager to find a solution to this situation, so any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
Santiago.

Well that's too bad, I was really hoping I would be able to somehow.
After calling Customer Service a lot, I'm now waiting for a direct reply from my phone carrier about the subject. Over at the sony forums they told me that Sony couldn't unlock it because of legal issues with the phone carrier, as the phone carrier is usually the one that demands to have a locked bootloader. I'm still hoping, however, that there'll be some sort of workaround and that either Sony or my phone carrier will give me some sort of solution. It's been done before, apparently, with Movistar in Spain. Apparently Sony was able to unlock the bootloader for those that bought an Xperia 2011 phone with Movistar Spain that had "Bootloader Unlock Allowed : NO". I can't post a link that thread yet, as I'm still new here at xda, but I'm quoting what it says over there: "In a nutshell "The Solution Sony proposses is, for those of you with a code-unlocked terminal, to contact Sony at [email protected], with your email, imei and unlocking code".
I know it's a particular case with Movistar Spain, but I'm still trying to get some info on wether something similar can be accomplished between my phone carrier and Sony.
Thanks for your reply, and I'm still hoping someone over here can tell me something about all of this.
It's your phone carrier mate, they locked up the phone. Call them everyday until they remove the sim-lock on your phone..
For me Linus Torvalds is the greatest man on earth

Well that seems to be the case, even though they are playing dumb and saying they are not the reason for locking the bootloader and that I should contact Sony and have them solve the problem for me....
I think I'm about to go into war with these guys. I kinda get why they lock the bootloader, what I won't forgive is being lied to like this. It's outrageous.
I'll check this post periodically though, maybe there's one of those miraculous solutions that I can try in the meantime.
Thanks for replying anyways.
Sadly even if your bootloader is unlocked you won't get to install the custom kernels
As your fastboot would still be SIM locked
And that can't be undone by Sony ofcourse
--You've to unlock fastboot
--Unlocking bootloader is no big deal -you'll have to pay few bucks and use wotanserver or s2 tool
There's a guide on using Testpoint (unofficial) unlocking in Neo V development section
Hope this clears out your issues more clearly
Sent from my MT11i using xda premium
my phone had the same problem and i briked my phone and then repaired it with preset.ta file and then used s1tool to unlock it and it is unlocked now
you can also use plasma tool for free unlock(i tried it also and it worked)

IOT_H850_MARKETING Bootloader Unlock Possible?

I found out the G5 I have is a marketing model. Sucks since I can't seem to unlock the bootloader since the LG Developers website doesn't give the unlock.bin for this models imei and id numbers.
Is there any other way to do it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I was going to flash the Lineage OS 16 Rom to it. Having android 9 on it would extend the lifespan of this good old flagship a little bit more for me.

How? Got a specific rom link?
Good news.
Today i unlocked my IOT-H850-marketing.
You can flash any h850 kdz.
My H850 running Android 8 V30f-EUR-XX
First it was not possible on bootloader unlock website.
I wrote a email to LG.
[email protected]
Code:
Hello,
I can not bootloader unlock my LG G5 (H850).
It is a device for the european market.
LG Unlock website shows this error:
"Unfortunately, your device( IOT_H850_Marketing.EUA )does not support unlocking the bootloader. Your account will be locked if you enter the wrong information more than 8 times."
Thats my 3rd lg g5. No unlock problems with the other two devices.
Maybe the mainboard from the not unlockable device was repaired or mainboard replaced in past.
This device is not working:
IMEI: [COLOR="red"]your IMEI[/COLOR]
Device ID: [COLOR="red"] your ID[/COLOR]
Android 8 installed V30f-EUR-XX
Can you check why it is not working?
Best regards

Woah Cool! So they changed so you can unlock it now? Great, gonna try this later when I'm free.
Hey so I tried to contact them as well but got no response. Do they need to specifically allow an unlock for every one of these marketing units?
Wait some more days.

You were right ha, just got the reply. Success peeps !
Yeah, it worked. Took about a week to get a reply, but it really worked. It seems they unlock the units one by one this way.
Thank you!
Congrats on unlocking your G5

Hello, Sony users, I bought a device that has been unlocked with a SIM card at Softbank in Japan, but it is impossible to unlock the bootloader. First, I have paid for the code release,
The method and site I found is here
unlockmydevice. c o. u k
but I am worried because there is no response yet.
Please let me know if it's working for you. I have the same unlocked softbank phone like you. I'm not sure whether the tool can be unlocked the bootloader or not. Waiting for you result after you received the code.
