Chromecast Receiver (alternative to CheapCast)? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Since CheapCast isn't working anymore, is there a good alternative to make a Android Device a Chromecast Receiver?
I've got a Android TV Box (running 4.4 KitKat) and the TV itself only has one HDMI Port. I don't want to change between the Box and a Chromecast-Stick/Miracast-Stick/Amazon-Stick each time.

Nobody? Really? Is Chromecast that dead?!

Mirror G3 to lg tv!

No Chromecast here. Have an apple tv. My tv is an LG 60lm7200. I cannot find a way to wirelessly mirror my phone screen to my TV. Any ideas?
Your lg tv may be miracast ready or there may be a software upgrade to support it. if it does support miracast then all you need to do is go to settings\share &connect\Miracast set to on and search and connect.
if it is not miracast ready you can buy a miracast dongle from amazon and such.
AllCast from clockwork mod in playstore will let you send videos and pics to your airplay device (appletv) but miracast will allow you to send your entire desktop.
I would go down the miracast route.
Tv is not miracast capable, smart share app is a place holder. All cast is only local files correct? Looking for live mirroring

I edited my previous post.
you could go the hardware method using a cable with an hdmi out called a slimport adapter.
We have been having great success and a lot of fun mirroring the G3 to the audio receiver and then on out to the TV via a Chromecast on HDMI.
Popcorn Time !
When I tried that on my Nexus5 it did great for a while then got hot and stopped. No such problem with the G3, strangely.

Nexus 9 to TV?

How can I connect my N9 to my TV at work. Chromecast won't work due to work Wi-Fi security and I can no longer hotspot my phone since my MotoX gen 2 isn't too table.
Looks like the microusb doesn't have a video out.
I work at the fire department and it would be nice to load movies on my tablet so we could watch them at the station at night.
If your TV is DLNA compatible, you can use AllCast to play movies. Or if your TV supports MiraCast, you can apply this mod to enable MiraCast on your N9 (which will mirror your screen directly to your TV using WiFi Direct) - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2941396

Mirror android screen using Wi-Fi direct?

I have a lm6200 LG TV that has Wi-Fi and Intel widi built in and a LG G4 sprint with miracast and smart share. Is there any way to Mirror my Android screen to this TV without internet using a chromecast? Specifically I only want to mirror the games I play on phone to big screen wirelessly. I have unlimited data on phone but hot-spot is a not an option as it costs $$$$. Really don't want to root phone either. If chrome not good option can anyone recommend another cheap dongle so I can Miracast my phone screen to it? TV has hdmi, USB and several other ports on back to plug into. Thanks in advance!
Intel WiDi is a Miracast implementation

Intel WiDi is a Miracast implementation! You should not need a Miracast dongle or the Chromecast to mirror your display to your WiDi enabled TV!

S905x TV box, bad idea?

As my ''old'' samsung TV in my summer house has only USB media player as smart stuff and I love watching small reviews and tutorials before sleeping on youtube, I was happy to see that nowadays I can get an Android TV box like A95x or X96 for under 35$, though many people complained it's not real Android TV OS but a tablet one and that you have to use a mouse and keyboard to really use it.
Sorry for my noob questions but:
-Can you flash a rom based on real Android TV OS so you can use the remote controller only?
-If not can you use a BT dongle to pair a BT controller like the ones for VR headsets (so no need for a real mouse) on these boxes?

Netflix for Android TV

Hi, i recently bought an unbranded Androit tv
The Android TV does not have google apps installed but it has Aptoid TV.
I installed netflix for android devices (eg tablets) and it works fine but you will need a mouse to control some functions.
I have also installed netflix for android tv but when you open the app it gives me error (-100) that it cannot connect to netflix servers and will not let me sign in.
Is there a way to fix this?
Thanks
